LED - Message option? - Palm Treo Pro

Hi,
ist there any piece of software that can turn on the LED when a message has arrived? I looked at a few other forums and it seem there is no such software, or am I misstaking?
Regards,
J

I've looked also and so far haven't found anything that works.

This would be an excellent bit of functionality if it could be done.

If I understand what you are describing, it seems that this would fit the bill...
it says........."- Preliminary support for the Treo Pro..........What is Treo Alert you ask? Here are some of the features:
- Highly configurable program that adds reminders and alerts for various system events such as pending Voice Mail, Missed Calls, SMS, Email and other reminders such as Calendar reminders and Alarms.
- Can be configured to blink led when any of the above listed events occur.
- Can be configured to vibrate when any of the above listed events occur.
- Multi-color/blink rate LED settings......."

So far the only one I know that really supports this for the Treo Pro is phoneAlarm. I've been helping the developer test the beta for his next release and it does get the beacon light now to light up with whatever alarm notifications you've set up.
It's actually a really amazing program and does way more than its name suggests:
http://www.pocketmax.net/
But also, there's a quick n dirty Mortscript now which Scottymomo's written which will trigger the beacon light based off registry states:
http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=174039
.

If led works as in Treo 750v, yes, it's doable, but with 3rd party apps. I did it my self an app to do it on Treo 750.

Still no good working App... Not even phone Alarm....

And no good call recorder app

Vito AudioNotes!

I've tried this app. Actually if I get an incoming call, Vito AudioNotes will just record my voice and ignore the voice from the other side.

Call Filter

I had a Palm software phone (Treo 600) before my current MDA Compact and the Palm had two programs that i cannot seem to find for this PocketPC, can anyone suggest a program
1/ a Call filter, one that does not pass the calls onto the voicemail a filter that will pick up and drop. The Parm one when you had a blocked call it sounded to the caller that they had been cut off, i have been given SmartFilter but you just end up with lots of voice messages.
2/ Was a SMS response program once set if you recieved a text it would make no sound but would send a reply with a message you had set.
as said two usefull program that i cannot find for PocketPC, have i missed then if so can anyone please tell me the names.
Better still PM to me

I have tried that program and it looks very good but is restricted to only 10 numbers from your contact list. I will keep my eye on this program but as said so far it looks very good.

I have a copy of Smartphone and yes it is good except if anyone calls you and they are blocked it goes straight to the voicemail. So i ended up with voicemails, i think a really good call filter should except the call (silently) and just hang up. Smartphone is good but could be better if it picked up and dropped the unwanted calls instead of pointing them to voicemail.
not quite true
it takes it's divert from the phone 'busy' setting.... I think the default is voicemail on busy, but in the phone settings, you can specify another number other than voicemail... I put in my office number....go to the phone application and then the 'call divertl settings
not sure what you mean by pickup and hangup....sounds a bit rude really to the poor caller!
I don't get what you want?
You want the phone to receive a call, and then just hang it up?

What i am after is simple, work ring me weekends and using Smart Filter i end up with a load of vorce mails i dont want that. Now Call Filter when you choise a number to ignore just hangs up No Call and No Voice Mails - Great. I will be glad when he has finished the program as its grippled to only 0 numbers from your phone book at the moment.

MS Voice Command Wish List

Ok... I admit, I love VC! I have 1.6 installed on my 8525 with the blue tooth "hack" working and also mapped to my PTT "click & hold". It works great. Reminds me of my old MPX220, only much much better. However, as with anything, there is room for improvement.
1) PTT button as an actual Voice Command button, where Click launches and Click & Hold cancels.
2) Voice Command reads Notifications, battery level, signal strength. Why not read entire Emails? or IE, Word, & Notes? Like MS Narrator, only on my PPC and initiated by VC. It seems like the underpinnings of turning VC into a screen reader is there. What will it take to implement this? (especially email... I want to say "What are my new email messages?")
3) Anybody else have ideas or gripes?

I had read that it could do this for emails but not for SMS messages.. It doesnt actually do it for either though which did annoy me.
It also will announce the incoming caller's name over and over again if you have a second call arrive when you are already on a call.. this is very very very annoying and needs sorting.
I wish it wouldn't turn off the Microphone AGC on a soft reset. They recommend enabling it, yet when it loads it disables it...nutty
AGC On
Zedcorrado actually the instruction tells you to set AGC off not on, so it is OK for it be off. Following is part of the installation instructions.
1 - Adjust the Microphone
To get better speech recognition (If this control panel is not present, skip this step):
1. Tap Start > Settings > System. Then tap Microphone (or Microphone AGC or iPAQ Audio).
2. Set the automatic gain control (AGC) to OFF or disabled (if available).
3. Set microphone gain (if available):
Does VC 1.6 and the 8525 patch send audio to the headset when the information for an incoming phone call is announced?

I'm not sure if it only works on a Treo, but check it out.
dang that is sweet... any luck yet you guys?
It works. However, on incoming calls it shows 'incoming call' and the location -- but this is behind the normal notification window and thus not readable.
Will probably work find if you turn the on-screen notifications off.
I'm interested in this too I'd rather not turn off incoming call notifications though.

i started a similar thread a little back
i too can confirm it doesn't work, i think its more targeted for smartphones.

[REQ] Voicemail stand alone application

I wonder if there is an application that would pick up my phone after some rings, and plays a message and people can drop a message.
So I will have a voicemailbox with recorded messages which I can point and click at, save them, listen again, etc. Just recorded als .mp3 on internal storage. Maybe even callback options, sms-back options etc.
I really hate dialling that voicemailbox number, choosing 1 and 2 to listen messages. I have no overvieuw of messages etc.
The app looks fairly simple to me. Does it exist already?
You're searching for some kind of on-device visual voice mail
I would really like to see this at this moment my voicemail is nothing more than a question to mail me or sms me but most people do not like that
one question when your phone is off or you are out of range what would you like another app to take it over?
This is a nice idea...
See it more as a secretary app. instead of a voicemail app.
Where you're in your car and you don't / can't talk.
Perhaps something with different messages you can choose from (you need to make them yourself?)
Something like "Hello this is <insert name>, I'm driving at the moment, please leave a message after the beep" *beep* The person leaves a message that will be saved as mp3 file for example.
@WvanWaas
When out of range, your 'standard' voicemail will take over.
But when in meetings, or as said, driving, it would be nice that the persons message can be stored on my device.
The ultimate thing would be that this program can dial my voicemail, automaticcally send DTMF tones (time and pattern), and store eventually new voicemailmessages locally. The number of new voicemails on my network is available (since manila uses it too).
With Telfort home-phone, I get emails with .mp3s of voicemail messages (VOIP). Thats really good.
With vodafone UK I was using vodafone mail - voicemails automatically appeared as emails with WAV attachments.
Was very handy
There dont exist any programs?
the only app is isecretary. it doesnt work on diamond though
I use www.youmail.com and also wrote a simple client to parse through my emails and just list my voicemails in a UI.
Youmail also does speech to text transcription so you don't even have to play the sound file-- just read it.
It not for outside US I guess...
It looks promising...
It exists for Nokia phones
I have not found an application as such for the diamond but I know that it exists for Nokia. With the Nokia N95 there is a built in application that works as a voicemail. Of course only when there is coverage and the phone is working.
The application picks up the call after some time (configurable) and plays a greeting message that you have previously recorded and after the beep, the caller can record his message. The application saves that recording and whenever you are available you can playback that message.
Hope to find one for Diamond.
Yup, my T-Mobile voicemail charges are silly, plus I'd like to have more control and functionality from my voicemail. An included blacklist filter would be handy too.
I have a Touch Pro (Raphael).. Is there really nothing around at the moment that will work? That's kind of strange.
Just kick this one up once more ...
This type of app could cause some expensive long distance charges if you were outside of your local calling area though, no? I'm thinking your phone would need to be connected to the call in order to record an .mp3 voice message locally on the device, whereas carrier voicemail can be received regardless of where you are anywhere in the world without costing you as the user a fee to receive a message.
I see that Touch HD can record calls.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457808&page=4
A simple application which auto-answers, plays a file, records a message and nicely puts them in a list, so I have total controll of my voicemessages?
That would be well killer-app... I'd pay for it, simply because I need it.
i realy want this app too!!!!!
Sounds nice to me as well
+1 here....
Try This. Loaded on my Diamond but havn't tested it.

With me everything is working properly when the phone is locked only on the screen touch a send a message and that's all
Hmmm,...I have it checkd but I don't believe anybody ever received an sms from me when I reject a call. Weird,..
Try QSMS To Buddy:FullFeatured free app from android market
It takes care of the situation you have explained. It not only allows you to send sms during rejected incoming calls. But it also allows the same when someone else rejects your calls (outgoing rejected): a feature never seen before.
Interestingly you have ability to modify the messages right when you are rejecting the call and sending the sms. e.g. instead of saying "call you back later" you can change it to "call you back in a min"

QText app has been on my Fav list
QText is the most professional application in the category. I tried many apps and none of them allow you to do below two things
1. Change the message before sending it: e.g. send "will call in a minute" instead of "will call you back later"
2. Send text for outgoing calls as well.
Auto text widget is also included.

Hi everybody,
I had this function before upgrading to JB 4.1.2, but nolonger now?
I wonder if someone can tell me how to get it back.
Thanks.
Works fine on WM6.5 & if need enhance the possible options further then Maicall is probably the answer as can handle sms replies as a whole & individually per number etc & rules can be listed in order of checking.
Far better than any of the Android options I have tried & reminds me why my daily work device is still an HD2 on WM6.5.x .
