Hi there people.
I have a Tomtom ONE v2 device.
with my old phone, i would pay a yearly subscription to get the traffic updates. this would work by bluetooth pairing my tomtom with my phone (K800i). tomtom would then get my phone to GPRS data from TOMTOM about where all the traffic issues are..
But when i try to do it with the X1i, although it will see the phone, when i try to access the data and get an update of the traffic, it says: "X1i The required features could not be found for this phone"
.
Any help would be appreciated from you guys out there who may know how to sort this one out?
Traffic updates are important to me
Thanks in advance

Does anyone have any ideas?
surely a phone such as this should integrate with TomTom?

Hi,
I believe this is because Microsoft removed Bluetooth DUN (Dial up networking) from Windows Mobile 6 - This has been replaced with PAN / Internet Connection Sharing.
TomTom currently only support DUN and not PAN
Aparently DUN was removed and the operators were able to add it into their ROM if they wanted to, just not many carriers did..
I have not got the exact threads to hand as im at work and they are bookmarked on my home PC, but if you search this forum (or google) for "Bluetooth DUN WIndows Mobile 6" or "BT DUN Windows Mobile 6" there are some threads which detail some fixes - I think there may be an aditional CAB file and registry tweaks required to get it working...
If you cant find them ill post back on here toinight with the links I found..
Cheers,
Craig

Wow, thanks, I have found a few articles about installing a CAB file
WM6_BT_DUN.cab
Hopefully it is as simple as installing it..I will have to wait till i get home to try this...
You are a star for pointing me in the right direction. Pints are on me!!!

Not a problem
I have been looking at this over the past couple of days, would you mind letting me know how you get on with it and if it works?
Cheers,
Craig

big smiles around here...
it works..
top marks!
thanks

I installed this too just now, but DUN isn't listed in Bluetooth Supported Profiles

That's irrelevant. DUN should be listed in Windows Mobile before anything is connected.

easy tiger
For me, all i did was install the cab file as mentioned above onto my phone, soft reset, and then tried paring my tomtom to my x1 and it worked.
cab files is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1351044&postcount=21
(for pairing the phone has to have bluetooth on, and is visible to other devices)
comm manager: settings:bluetooth: mode:
The pairing was done from my Tomtom One V2, not from the phone. The phone just accepted the pairing.
On a tangent:
Remember though that using wifi at the same time as bluetooth turns bluetooth off..
but it can be fixed by reading this thread:
[FiX] Bluetooth turning off with MortScript - xda-developers
My X1 also does not show up a DUN profile
comm manager: settings:bluetoothrofiles
but heck, it still works!

Hi, I have followed the instructions and my tomtom go 700 now sees the X1 properly. However I have some questions:
To setup the data connection, what phone do you select in the list on the TomTom? Or what custom settings should we use to connect to the internet from the tomtom using the X1.
Thanks,
Stephane

MDA Vairo - Backlight Issue

Hi,
When I power the screen down via pressing the power button briefly ( Standby mode ) I have some issues when I turn it back on - IE the backlights off and I have to manually go in and turn it back up again - is this me or a bug ?
Also the GPRS monerting software they give you is very good I think - any one know of a simular one for calls....
( For those that dont have one - it loges when you use GPRS and based on figures it gives you etc tells you when you have used your free quoter / gives reports and a few other things from your today screen ).
TIA
Terran
I had the same problem. After a hard-reset and NOT installing GPRSmonitor it never happened again...
Found who makes this app and sent this.... ( No doubt it will be speak to T Mobile ) but any one else with this prob may also want to mail them....
Hi,
Got your app ( v1.0.0.1 UK ) bundled with my Tmobile Vario - I think it has a
bug. Every so offten when the the phone has its screen off or its in stand by
mode that when the phone comes back on the back light does not - and in fact
you have to go set it back to the right level to see any thing.
Also is it possible to have an option to stop the GPRS connection until such
time as the user wants it. I find that even though its disconnected when I have
finished a wifi session it the trys to dial out via GPRS... and I'm not the only
one if you look at xda-developers forum.
I found a work around which was to change the T Mobile Internet connection to
use com1 and dial '1' instead.... ( That would be a nice to have ).
In the mean time if you have any suggestions re the back light please let me
know.
Many thanks
PS - Any future plans to include simular functions for voice and may be an on of
button for the phone on the today screen ?

[new release] VJBlueSync - enable and sync through BlueTooth

VJBlueSync - WM2003 only
This program can be used to automatically enable BlueTooth, load ActiveSync and start a synchronization through BlueTooth, all in one step.
It can also be used to start an Infra Red Sync, close ActiveSync and disable BlueTooth
As ever, it requires use of command lines to configure options.
The cab will install shortcuts, but these will only be in the right place if you have an English language OS
This software is beta: the BlueTooth sync does not always work. However, if it doesn't, try it again. If it still does not, enable BlueTooth manually before syncing.
I didn't really want to release this software, since the BlueTooth option doesn't work 100% of the time. But I'd done all the work, so even if it works 1%, you might as well have it anyway.... It's difficult to debug this since you can't be connected to ActiveSync while testing it
Download from my website.
V
hey vijay555,
that is the programm i'm looking for a whole week!!
thanks a lot for your work.
one thing:
your programm does't start the sync. it starts bluetooth and activ sync, but not the sync itselfs.(tried a lot of times incl restarts)
do you have an idea?
i start vjbluesync by the shortcut ( VJVlueSync Bluetooth) the programm created in startmenu.
ActivSync writes an error "synchronize with windows PC Errors: #now the time#". if i know click on tools->connect via bt every thing works fine.
thanks for your time
daniel
xlephant: I noticed the same thing, which is what I said on the page. try enabling the bluetooth first, manually, try bluetooth sync once manually, and then try VJBlueSync. I think the issue is timing, because the code used is exactly the same as for IRSync, and that works every time.
But I've run out of time to develop this one right now, I would rather not release it, but if I get a chance, I'll look at it again when I get a bit more time, and fix it properly. But i can't identify why it works sometimes, and not others... I got bored of it and just went back to developing VJOkButt instead. That was hard hard work!
If you can find a pattern that works on USB sync, I'll implement it. It does work, but not every time. Don't know why
Please indicate which hardware and OS you're using. Thanks!
v
Hi VJ/ xlephant,
I've been trying to do the same thing on WM5 (shame VJ's is WM2003 only) and came up with a not so short to set up porcess that works flawlessly so far for me. Have a look at the thread and you may be able to learn from what the other freeware is doing (if nothing else a few pointers).
The key for me is I use Wisbar Advanced, Pocket Bluetooth Tools and ToggleBTH (if you don't use WA as it isn't freeware though the other are the average user could use mortscript instead etc, but VJ you're good enough to code soemthing instead). Anyway, take a look at...

WLAN Walkie Talkie

Hi,
Does anyone know if theres program that lets me talk to someone else (in my house using the same wireless network) just by pushing a button (like a walkie talkie).
I want something a bit like the voice recording in windows live messenger - but in the form of a standalone program.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Uzzy
It would be amazing.....
But I think it couldn't work using Wifi...
It should work through Bluetooth....

I tried this out but with no success.
I have 2 HTCP3300's (Artemis) and installed the prog on both. Then i switched wifi on and went into the program. I saw my other device for about 5 seconds - and then it disappeared. The same happened with Bluetooth.
After a while i decided to try and talk within those 5 seconds (after restarting the porgram) but there wasn't any audio from the other artemis - there was only a message that came up on the screen saying something like "Sound quality is high". This message only came up when i was trying to talk to it.
Does anyone know what's wrong? This program would be perfect if i could get it to work properly.
If anyone wants to test it i can send the cab to them.
Thanks in advance, Uzzy
Hey Uzzy
The sound quality setting must be the same on both sides of 4talk. Once the are the same you should be able to hear your transmissions. My only issue with this software is that the signal itself seam to be a bit unstable. Breaks up a lot. MS portrait works quite for me.
SJPhone works over a WIFI network, even adhoc mode! in full duplex (better than a walkie talkie)! Use version 2003SE v.1.60.303c (there is a beta for wm5, but it doesn't work). I've used it, without problems, on both wm6.1 and 6.5 on an HTC Wizard AND an HTC Kaiser. It also has a PC version so you can talk Phone to Phone, PC to PC, or Phone to PC! The answer button doesn't display properly, so you have to configure a hardware button through SJPhone OPTIONS to answer the phone. You also need AudioSwitch to redirect the audio to the internal speaker. And you can also use it as it was intended, a SIP VOIP phone! I've set this up on several old phones for my Grandkids to play with. They LOVE it!
You can use Loudtalks;

TMC now possible without external hardware

Hi guys. I just read through the Blackstone-subforums to find some cool new apps and yes, I found something very Interesting.
I'm talking about this Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511838
They made TMC-service without additional hardware possible for the Blackstone and I tested the service on my X1 and it works amazingly with MN7.
Big THX to our "brothers" in the neighbor-subforum!!!
Could you please indicate how you got this working?
Did you have to disable the Media Panel (X-Panel), or did you have an older firmware without this?
If you did have to disable it, how did you do that?
And, it was my understanding Navigon (MN7) only supports GPS with integrated TMC and this mix-driver isn't ready yet.
A step-by-step for the X1 would be really appreciated!
Thanks,
Rowdy
I'm interested in a step-by-step guide too! HyperGPS works fine but I can't activate it in MN7. If I do it manually by editing the XML Port 9: HyperGPS is activated but I can't press the "Traffic/Verkehr"button.

the new media panel should be disabled, because it claims radio exclusivly. There is a reg key which prevents new media panel loading during boot.
with the old media panel, iGO works fine tmc messages.
How are the setting in the MN7 for the tmc?
COM9 with 4800 baud?
Kartsen
whooh, looks pretty amazing!!
But, after running, it doesn't matter wich com port i'm selecting, there all not working!
hoping for a new version..
but WHAT IS TMC ??
TMC means Traffic Message Channel.
It's something like this:

Yes, well, I have searched 'everywhere' but probably on the wrong terms, since I cannot find this registry key.
So, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
I would also be interested in a solution for MN7, because it doesn't seem to support TMC via COM-port..
How did you get it to work de Wolfe?
Hi. Sorry that I left the thread without any further infos
I almost dispaird of this topic. TMC worked exactly one time and MN7 showed me a traffic jam. But after that any other start of MN7 just let the TMC-driver peg out... After hours of further testing I gave up and took comfort in seeing that the whole project is still just in alpha-status...
Since yesterday my beloved X1 is at the doctor and gets dressed its ugly crack

Bluetooth Gampad BGP 100

Has anyone tried this?
I got out of memory eror when trying to connect, this is obviously not a memeory issue - I also get this error on Fpsece 9.5.
Is this a well known WM6.5 issue or something?
Anyone got a fix
Hey,
i own the BGP100 aswell and i had some problems too. Check the driver ive attached, works very well for me (tested on a Diamond, doesnt work with shipped driver).
I got it from Pocketpc.ch (German language PPC forum). It by the user Black Panther.

Howto
1. click "search"
2. wait (on diamond it takes some time)
3. the dropdown should show the right thing when its done searching
4. click "connect"
5. click "red stream"
Tell me if it works. My HD2 will arrive on Saturday (express )
I got an 'unexpeected error' grrr
Cheapest place to get one from
Ive found this from china... http://www.sourcinggate.com/bgp100-bluetooth-game-pad-for-pda-computer-p-3465.html
If this does work successfully Im onnit and ordering one asap
That is what I have and is the only one of its type available - I'd hold off until someone else can confirm it works.
I'm still having no luck!
Dont order just yet.
The gamepad does not work on the HD2 until someone figures out a way to make the HD2 connect to the gamepad.
Thanks for the software Ben86, it is loading but you click "Search" it just crashes.
Ive just asked black panther on pocketpc.ch if its possible for him to wirte his program for the Hd2. If so ill post it here
btw ... does the HD2 actually fit the BGP100? my guess ... no xD
Has anyone tried the new version that was posted 11/22?
Link - This version does not crash my phone when I hit search, but do not have a gamepad. Can someone confirm the new version works?

It doesn't work. It says it's for a different bluetooth stack.
Sadly it does not work.
It says it is not made for our bluetotth stack and then it gives a .NET error.
Still hoping there is a solution out there somewhere.
Just saw this custom bluetooth software BTExplorer that is compatible with all kinds of bluetooth devices and uses their custom bluetooth stack. Right now they state WinMo 6.5 as coming soon. It is works with the Gamepad in 6.1, there could be hope it would with 6.5. Anyone willing to try with 6.1?
Can can one find BTExplorer to download or buy?
I could not find it anywhere except on their website, and there is no download link.
I have tried looking for a trial, but unable to locate one. Might try using their contact page to see if they have a trial.
