i got the exact same question...cant find an answer?
just found it in \windows\startup\
looks as if it loads on startup, but activesync still seems to be starting and running randomly as usual?
i havent seemed to notice a difference with asynckiller loaded?
Me either. On a stock ROM, using a fake exchange server filled with bull**** details and set to 'manual' updating for syncing would stop AS from running when not needed. But now I can't seem to get that to work anymore
But maybe I'm doing something wrong...I'll have to try again...

This app only kills async at start up...it runs all the time as a process in the back ground. But, it does not kill async any other time (program bug)!
it doesnt even kill async from startup for me, as soon as my device started up the async is already in the taskmanager even though i didnt use it!! and i have the asynckiller installed!

Hi all,
I am so frustrated with my k-jam. Once I install anything on it like wisbar2 or button mapper or anything it gets so terribly slow that it's totally unusable. it's rediculous how long i have to wait to be able to make a darn phonecall.
anyone knowing a way around this problem?
thanks
Andrew
there must be something wrong, i have the k-jam & a total of 20 apps are installed on it, without being that slow, on the contrary, i thought it would be slower than this, but it's pretty nice.
do you have the latest rom installed on it?
yep, i have 1.6.7 or something like that running on it.
what apps do you have running on it?
But it depends also on how many appl are running at that moment...

Wisbar is still only a beta release for WM5 devices so that may not help. Are your other installed applications all labelled as WM5 compatible by the publishers?
Do you still have the AntiVirus installed / running?
do you have the anti-virus program running thats in your Extended_Rom?
thank you all for your help.
nooooo, i got rid of the antivirus as soon as i figured out how to.
actually right now i don't have anything special running.
what do you all think about the wisbar advanced desktop? would it slow things down big time?
thanks again
Andrew
here are the installed apps on my kjam.
for the wisbar advance desktop, i beleive its not supported on wm5 yet, i tried to install the version available on their website and the result was a total freeze, i had to uninstall it eventually.
correction...
i found there's is an update for the wisbar advance. i'm gonna try it and see.
guys, i have a wizard (T-Mobile Vario) and i notice it sometimes responds slowly to things if i click on them, but i didnt know it had an antivirus built into it, can you tell me where it is and how to get rid of it?, Thanks
You should be able to remove it via the Remove Programs applet in Settings on your Vario, or via ActiveSync when connected. Think it's published by eTrust..

I don't have anything from eTrust in my "Remove Programs" list... Are you sure?
as i recall i was only able to get rid of the antivirus thing by upgrading the rom. but maybe if you can find which on it is you can just remvoe the file from the extended rom and do a hard reset.
Some of the earlier iMate shipped ROMs didn't show eTrust in the Remove Programs applet so they provided a patch to make it show up. I would have had the same problem, but managed to kill the install when first setting up.
I have a Trinity Htc ppc. I'm wondering if is possible to >KILL< automatically activesync on my ppc when i disconnect the cable fron pc.
Thank You.
This is the best ppc forum in the world!

Even if You kill activesync after disconnect (I'm using quickmenu to do this) after some minutes activesync starts again.
Anyone has a solution for this?

Crash - Try this:

AppSentry
AppSentry was made just for this reason. It can kill activesync and other apps on a regular basis. The link is in my signature.
It doesn't require you to run it, it runs itself. And it does not run in background so takes no memeory when it is not running.
solution?
ASyncKiller
This application allows to kill the ActiveSync process when it's in idle state but it just hold in memory...

I have the same on my old device, Mitac Mio A701. This is probably normal for Windows mobile device. Check out this thread too. there are solutions for this...
the most simple and elegant solution:
just add activesync to exclusive list in the task manager...
1. when you'll check and get activesync on (uninvited)
2. go to task manager.
3. Click and hold on the word Activesync and then select from the pop-up "add to exclusive".
4. go to exclusive tab and thick activesync (repllog.exe).
done. worked for me many times (many ROMs)
i've tried this one (thanks to KukurikU) ...and so far so good.
i think its still running in the backround somewhere but i can't see it.
will try the other ones suggested...for a permanent fix later
cheers

yes you are right, you only prevented the application UI from running, the processes that's related to activesync are still running. there are several of them, so you may only have killed 1 or 2.
i don't understand why you want to kill activesync permanently. how do you sync your contacts and calendars and all that? :S

have you phone attached to your pc via active sync.. and go to the link above on your PC (not your phone)
you will down an MSI file onto your pc, install that and it will "talk" to your phone and magic will then happen..
read the info on the link above it will tell you what you need..
good luck. ( i was in your position last week... so know what you are going through)

Guys will this conflict with my device in any way?
I don't want to experiment...
Will this really eat 33MB of my memory??
So, nobody here installed this???
Guys, did anybody install this .NET Compact Framework 3.5 on Xperia?
What are the possible problems with this? I don't want to screw my phone.
I have ms net cf 3.5 installed on my x1 and its fine... battery lasts and no memory issues (touch wood)... actually I have a shed load of stuff installed on the x1 and so far its behaved fairly well.

I downloaded the CE .NET FRAMEXORKS CAB (very small, around 2 MB I guess) and copied to my SD card, now I can easyly reinstall it after every flash

wassup thebest1. just to let you know, i got an unmodded, stock 6.5 hd2. i got a questions please. will removing startup items increase batt life and performance?
Only knowns issues by removing it are some apps that i notice. For instance holding the power button for 3 sec quicklist (Shutdown)app will appear. Now if you remove the apps from startup folder, holding the power button for 3 sec it will take about 6-7 sec for the quicklist app to appear. Same goes with Comm Manager, it will open automaticall. But by removing the apps from startup application it will take about 6-7 sec for Comm Manager to open. I replace those 2 apps with psshutxp and cookies home tab. I hope this helps.

so in other words, removing these startup items wont affect batt life or perforrnance. just that some programs will start a few secs longer.
Thats Correct. It will not affect battery life or performance.
I could be wrong but I think taking things off of your Start up has bound to help some. I mean for one when you first boot up hour device it uses the start up to know what programs it is suppose to initialize and start up and let continue to run in the background. So it would help a small bit by your device not having to start so much up and taking less time to boot. After all boot up is when your device has some of it's highest power consumtion. Also the less things running in the background the less the processor has to work and the less power consumption the device has. This is why turning HTC Sense off helps save battery because even though you canxsee it on the home screen. It is still a programthat is running in the background cause it is not part of the actual Windows OS but a theme or graphic UI for the device, now granted HTC Sense is one of the biggest power consuming programs compared to others. But thos is because HTC Sense recquires alot of,memory and resources of the device where most other programs don't. Remember I am only using HTC Sense as an example.
When you take the programs off of start up they take longer to come up because the have to cold start as to hot start if the are in start up. Cold start means it has to initialilize or started up before it can open. Hot start means it is already initialized or started ip and can just open.

This has to do with your Bluetooth on your HD2, I am not sure but I think it is the program that actually runs the Bluetooth on your HD2. This is something else I suggest you do not mess with as this is also something kind of vital to your HD2 working right while running Windows Mobile. This is the .exe that starts up the screen lock program, and the security lock program (if you use it) on your HD2, if you don't use or want either of these you can remove it and nothing bad should happen, except you would probably have to manually lock \disable the screen if you wanted the display to stay on all the time.

No you can not use any androidapps with Windows Mobile at all. Now if it is a Windows Mobile version of the app then yes you can use it bitcthe Windows Mobileversion will probably not be quit as good as the Android.
