Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I just downloaded Pama's(I think) Clocks and was wondering how I get rid of it off of my home screen. I deleted the file from my device I think, if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Please, I want to get rid of this clock and background so I can use Manilla.
Bump, please help.
Well you could ask in the clocks thread or you could ask Pamas in his thread or you could just delete the files from windows and re-start your device, if that does not work for you, you can re-name the files with Total Commander and then soft reset (once re-named they can be deleted), or if you installed the clock by .cab just goto settings/system/remove programs and uninstall it. Your final option is to just find a nice new clock in the clock thread and install that over the top of pamas's clock to overwrite the files. Good luck.
I removed it from the settings and it worked, thank you! Now, is there a tutorial on where I put stuff for Manila?

Not to sure if there is a tutorial or not, but basically there are 3 ways to change stuff in manila: you can instal a .cab, you can copy files to your windows folder with total commander or you can use the manila customizer by member Grumps.

1,use TF3D config

thnx man i'll give it a shot,i'm used to wm5 so touch flow is totally new 4 me,there's a little issue though.
i couldn't apply a background picture
thnx man,it worked, unlike wm5 it took way too long
I still don't know why theme creators don't make a cab file of their themes. The only thing a theme is made of are manila files. With a cab file you also don't need the TFL3D config program. Simply click the .cab file on your device and you're done.
@ Theme makers: there is a application named Qickcab.exe. Cabs are so easy to use and you get rid of all the repeating questions on how to install .theme files.....

I think it's already a great favor that the theme creators make all the gorgeous themes and generous enough to share them with us (they could keep the glory to themselves, look at those gold and diamond themes. We could have been drooling at them instead of showing them off on our diamonds). Do you think we are asking a bit too much to ask the theme creator to make the new theme and then ask them, "why don't you make the .theme file as I don't bother to convert the .png to manila files? Why don't you make the .cab file even saving my time to install diamond config?" I think as fellow xda-developers who know what to do, we can help out by making them instead of asking the creators to do it themselves. Or create yet another sticky faq to explain it. imho. Anyway, I bet even when .cab is created, somebody would still post a question asking what to do with the .cab he downloaded.
I fully agree but its a hard work too to copy all files to windows folder...a theme file or cab isnt so much price to do for them. I think..maybe anyone of them dont know how to do it so why dont advice them...
Ok, sorry guys, in my previous posting it wasn't my intention to piss the theme creators off. I respect their hard work. But I find it a bit strange the way .themes have to be installed. First you have to install TFL3D config utility and then you have to make some additional steps to install a theme. Why not keep it simple and create a cab file of the theme ?
I think the knowledge of the theme creators is good enough to also find out how to create a cab file out of it.
Also creating a cab is a 3 click process. Takes only 30 secs extra
Will make a short guide how to make a cab in a moment.
The reason i make theme files instead of cabs is the file size..
I agree cab files is much easier, but they just get too big with a cab!
I use cab files for minor changes, like a clock or some icons...
exampel..
Vista Ultimate Theme.theme - 1560kB
Vista Ultimate Theme.cab - 9070kB

Ok that's a big difference. But How many files are in your themes ? Do you put all the manila files in it, or just the changed ones ?
In the end both will be 9070kB But I got your point.
theme file is much better than cab which cant be always uninstalable (experience with some clocks fot TF3D) and it isnt for me such a sacrifice to such a great themes to install this user friendly program

I have about 450 files... And I made it as small as possible..
It's not just the image files...
And it depends on who is installing it...
If you have the same TF3D as I have it would be enough to just install the changed files...
but If you have another TF3D you have to replace some other files too...

I think copying manila files is easier than installing as .theme (I haven't tried .cab so I can't say anything on that). I usually do it via bluetooth. All I need to do is to beam the relevant files (via bluetooth) and then move them to /windows (using Total Commander because you can select a batch of files to move instead of one-by-one). It doesn't take much time as the relevant files are not a lot (e.g. for the gold diamond theme, just fewer than 20 files). Simple drag and drop will do.
so first of all there is 200+ files so you have some lite version maybe
the second thing...Im using resco exp which is the best for me and every replace file in ROM i have to confirm very stupid, common File explorer is the same and I wont install another explorer just for installing themes...
Guys, guys, all That Is Good But I Still Didn't Get The Answer, why Can't I Put The Background Picture That Comes With The Theme In Th Background ? It Just Gives Me A Plain Background

200+ files for a theme? Well, I have tried the darkred/darkblue, gold, gold with diamond themes and they only have <20 files involved (all found in the thread Themes for TouchFlo3D). Where did you get the 200+ file theme? And don't use Resco exp. Use Total Commander instead. I have both on my diamond and Total Commander has an option "yes to all" (similar to Windows replace command) and all I need to do is to select the group of files, find the directory to move to and then "move" then "yes to all" and done. Just a few clicks on the diamond will do.
Or alternatively, you can wire connect your diamond to the PC and move everything from your pc (so that you don't need to touch any primitive file explorer on your diamond).
guys,r u gonna keep arguing & not answer my question,i installed a theme & came out very good but without the background,so how can i apply the background to it?

hi.. sorry about that
Just slide to the settings tab in TF3D and there you can select 'background'...
You have to copy the background file to your phone first

Hi All
First of all I am new to all of this but have spent the last week trying to figure out what to do but failing badly - therefore apologies to you all if my question could be easily found through a google search ...., but I have failed to find it
So at the heading says - how do I install a theme/manila files onto my Ignito without using TF3D Config - I have tried copying them across to the windows directory but still cannot see them listed under the Today settings.
I am using TF3D, on a 1.93 rom on a O2 UK tariff
Fingers crossed someone will be able to help me in simple - idiot proof - instructions
Thanks all
Jean
Ermmm - in light of the fact 77 people have looked at this but not replied does that mean ....
a. Its a really stupid question not worthy of a reply
or
b. No one knows the answer
a lot of people use tf3d config on 1.93 roms with no known
problems.give it a try.you can always take it off again and
return to your stock rom.
Hi i have a 1.93 rom which had the o2 theme, i installed the original black theme on it using tf3d config and ive had no problems.

use total commander to copy and paste the files into the windows directory!
Is there actually a reason why you're trying to do this? TF3D Config is a quick and easy method for changing your theme so to try and accomplish this manually seems needlessly complex. Which, I'd guess, is probably why no one's answered your question; it's likely that no one has ever tried to do it manually as TF3D Config does it all for you.
For the record I've got the stock 1.93 ROM on O2 and I've managed to change theme with TF3D Config without any problems at all. My girlfriend's done the same with her stock 1.93 Vodafone ROM.
Hi All
Thanks so much - the problem I am having is that I can't find any themes within the TF3D config programme - so for example - it asks for a path to the file containing the theme - I highlight the theme location but it then does'nt load
Am I being really dumb!!
Thanks again all

loool OMG select the folder where your themes are located!
You can't select TF3D themes in the Today settings. A WM6 theme (.tsk files) yes, but no Touchflo.. You'll have to either use TF3DConfig> Create a folder called 'themes' (without quotes) in your storage card and put the xxx.theme files in there. Use tf3dconfig, press 'path', doubble click storage card, highlight themes, and press 'ok'. There has to be only .theme files in there, no folders or zip files, they don't work...
Or if you want to copy files to the windows directory, the method is to extract all the manila-files from a theme. Copy and overwrite all the manila files to the windows folder. Folders, zip-files or .theme-files do not work. Only manila files. I wouldn't recommend this one, but you gotta do what you gotta do..

Thanks again - I've done exactly as you say - and in fact that's what I have been doing - yet no theme is available within TF3D - I'm trying to install a manila theme called Black n Blue - I get a warning saying I must have 20mb free - which I have - so at a complete loss as to the problem.

Hmm this is weird.. what ROM do you have? Is it stock? And what version of tf3dconfig are you using?

Rom: 1.93.206.3 wme - Original o2 VERSION
TF3Dconfig: 0.6.7
It's very frsutrating as the process should be simple - yet installing a manila theme in anyway seems impossible - I can change the picture background via Flo and of course have a WM theme if I turn off Touch Flo - just not install a theme that intergrates with TFlo - thanks for the time and help
Yes I can imagine. But on the thread about tf3d config, it says 'Please do not install a Theme on a 1.93 ROM!' Maybe he's referring to stock roms? I also have a 1.93 rom, but it works without any hassle. You are not willing to update to a custom rom?
Have you tried to copy all the manila files to your windows folder? Use total commander.. original explorer does not work..
I think that's what I'm going to have to do - just less hassle if I can get away without replacing the rom - never mind it was worth a try - the weird thing is even copying across to the windows folder- via ActiveSyn - also does'nt work - so a bit stumped
Thanks for all the help though
You would have to use Total Commander to to copy files from your 4gb storage card to your windows folder. It doesn't work with activesync or explorer..
Ahh okay thats good to know -off to try!!!!
Perfect - fiddly - but worked a treat - it was trying to copy across via Active Syn that was the issue - hugely appreciated thank you
It's worth noting that this can't be an issue with stock ROMs because both my girlfriend and I have successfully updated our TF3D themes using TF3D Config and we both have stock 1.93 ROMs.
Not that that helps you out at all, but at least people reading this will know it is perfectly possible to do this using a stock ROM.

Same here, i have tried many themes on the stock o2 ROM with the TF3D config with no issues.
I can't believe so many people out there don't realize what the problem is. The aforementioned "Black and Blue" theme (and many others) is NOT a .theme file, so the TF3D Config application CANNOT be used to apply it. It is instead just a bunch of manila files that need to be copied into the Windows directory (with Total Commander from the sound of it). I have had the same problem with the same theme.
Are we being dumb in that there is a simple way to create the .theme file? From a collection of manila files?
Can't change any file! What to do?
Tried even Pocket TC - no luck (unckecked attributes).
Replace with total commander, cheers
Please - read my post - i said already that i tried to do that with TC - Total Commander...
Ah sorry about that i'll have my eyes checked. Have you done it from within total commander with the copy move option?
What files do you want to change? if it is not to complicated I might be able to put them in a cab file for you if you post them, or if you do a search for "Quick Cab" you could easily make your own. The advantage of a cab file for me is that it is easy to revert to your original state by simply uninstalling the cab.
Have you disabled manila (TouchFlo 3D) in \Settings\Today\Items? Try doing that then copying. Then enable again.

I assume you wish to remove a '*_manila" file, such as when the rom version has been overwritten, but you now want to remove the new file and bring the original rom file forward again?
First best to unload TouchFlo3D by unticking in Today settings.
If you are unable to directly remove the 'overwritten' file due to Access Denied error, simply use Total Commander to "Rename" the file to something completely different.
Then try deleting the file which now has a different file-name.
Worst-case you will need to reboot and the rom file will be restored (as the overwritten file was now renamed), then delete the redundant renamed file.
Hope this all makes sense!

This is a .cab which should install the two manilla files into your windows folder. You will have to disable/re-enable TF3D or soft reset. You can change the wallpaper on the home screen with the app foud here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427463 I hope this is of some use to you. I used QuickCab to make the file found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400221 It is very straight forward. I prefer to use cab files for installing custom manilla files because they are easy to then uninstall.
Hi.
Can anyone of u plz tell me how to use open gl and how to install thongs like Diamond cubes themes and more. Plz teach me how to do this cuz i cant get this things to work. I wana use me htc for something funny not just use it like a phone.
plz help me if u can.
I am not an experienced person, but I try to answer you.
you need a file called CAB. Download the CAB file for a particular program.
Never unzip it. The CAB file itself acts as a exe file.
1) Sync your diamond to the PC with active sync.
2) copy the cab file to your diamond
3) double click on the cab file.
4) Install either on your ROM or internal memory
Good luck!
Google is your friend.
If your new to Pocket PC devices, check this out.

Because ActiveSync/File Explorer can't copy files with System attribute and Total Commander can. Apart from that, it is a way better file manager than the system one. And unlike the desktop version, it is free.

Thanks Alot, this completes my manila overhaul heh..
What does this file do (stupid question maybe)?
k is it just me or does that zip file not work? if i extract it on my desktop the file is empty. if i just open the zip file i can see the manila file but not open it. if i put the zip file on my phone it will not open or extract
well figured it out, had to turn on option in vista to see system files. weird cause i have messed with many manila files and never had to do that. loaded it and it did not work for me. it just offset the icons in the tabs but did not change the look. funny thing is i have a sprint touch pro but have jds rom but just want the sprint icons. so i had them stock, gave them up, now want them back
