I just hard reset my magician. Since i'm using big storage (my friend did it), only some of the cab files from extended_rom are installed. Now i just found out that my smart dialing, MMS, O2 plus are not included. It was easy to recover those programs since i know the cab files.
However, i cant find the right cab for "Running Programs". Does anyone know which one? Thx.
Sorry for the bad language
Running programs - do you mean in Settings > system > memory > running programs?
If you need a task killer I can send you one or there's many around.
V
That's the one. Thx . So actually it's not a stand-alone program. Yes i found the running programs.
So, the question is changed now. I need the shortcut to that program. Usually magician has the blue box icon with a picture of someone running. Do you know the shortcut?
Thx.
Just tried to restore that icon from my old backup before it crashed. I thought it was just only a link to some program. But it is not! It is an exe file and after i restored it, click the Running Programs, it says "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename".
Any clues?
My Running Programs app is in the "default_103133" CAB file from my Mini. I run this file after hard reset.
What does that file do? Just open up the running programs control panel?
If you need it back, just type the following into a text file on your PPC
Code:
22#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,4,2
and save it as Memory.lnk
Then double click on that file.
Tell me if it works ok.
V
@vijay
i just wanna return my magician to the default system . that's why i'm so curious to get back that program.
@ampda
i'll try that file. thx for the info.
I can post my CAB file but it will also add the O2 xda defaults that can with the Aussie unit

Thats right....just install that cab file "default_103133.cab" and you will have your Running Programs app back....that is, if you saved your Ext ROM files before doing the Big Storage patch, or someone can attach that cab file here.
Now my problem is (sorry this might be Off-topic) , how can I have back the AUTOCONFIG for different Telcos, (especially Asian) ? Its also gone after the Big Storage patch. I dont know which of the cab files I need to have it back
anyone have idea or is there a forum for this in Magician?
thanks...
THANK YOU!!! finally i can access my running programs.
anyway, ive another question . let's say i want that program to be installed automatically after I hard reset. how can you do that? so i do not have to restore them manually from my sd card. thx.

To get the menu and icon run O2Auto.sa.CAB, then install the telco(s) you want to be in the autoconfiq menu.
@nsriza, thanks!!! As simple as this, and I can have my Autoconfig back already?
I thought I need to manually edit the autoconfig.txt to change the paths of the cab files?
Btw, I have already installed the cab files for all the Telcos that I need....but not the O2Auto.sa.CAB yet. Is it okay if I install that O2Auto then install again the Telco cabs?
Thanks...
So has anyone knew how to setup auto installation for cab files (eg. MMS, SmartDialing etc) after hard reset? thx
another OOT question...what does autoconfig.txt and config.txt do? and how to use it?
thx
Im assuming your asking for auto installation for after a hard reset using big storage. if you search for "AutoRUn" on this forum you should find a link on how to create an autorun folder on your storage card. you need the autorun.exe (Found in the search for the link) and a folder called 2577 created in the root directory of your storage card. then all you need to do is add all the CABs that you want to auto install after a HR to a ZIP (not Rar) archive and call that archive extROM.zip. then put that in your 2577 directory and hardreset and it will install all the files in the zip. if you havent already installed the cabs you put in the zip it will actually start installing them as soon as you insert the SD card. have a search around you will find lots of info about this subject.

hi i used big storage to convert my german rom (o2 xda mini) to wwe 1.12. now i lost some features like MMS,Smart dialling, Home zone control, O2plus. (as it was the case with you). It would be great if you could share here how did you get them back to work? i mean, i want the procedure to do so. i have a backup of my german rom.
one more question. i dont see the Phone pad option in my text input list after the bigstorage patch. how can i get it back. any suggestions would be so great..
thanx in advance

@visvaram
if you backup ur extended_ROM, u should able to find related cab files, such as MMS**.cab, SMARTDIALING**.cab. Just tap those files and it will be installed automatically. FYI, backup ur cab files first b4 installing.
Im not sure about O2plus and zone files. Anyone care to help?
Hi Guys
Is there anybody who can guide me if it is possible to replace the Ext_Rom of a WM6 with WM5 or not?!!!
Actually I had a problem with my Ext_Rom...(There's a CLEARVUE...a default program for Reading PDF files which I hate it,but I can't prevent it of being installed while costumization of WM5 ) So I wondered If I can change My Ext_Rom with the one whcih has not Clearvue inside?
If yes,then how???
Thanks
Easy.
Go to the WiKi and search for "unlocking extended ROM of Prophet".
The extended ROM is just a collection of cabs. On the Prophet (at least in WM 5 not sure if they changed it in WM 6) you can open it with a simple registry change and then manually delete or add cabs. (note that cabs must be signed to automatically install after hard reset)
I looked over the backup of my Ext_ROM (from official i-mate ROM) but could not determine which cab installs ClearView just by their names.
You could always try them manually one by one or use CECabManager (google) to see whats inside.

Hi Levenum
It's really great to have someone to help you, finally. Thanks a lot,man .Actually I know how to un-hide the Ext_Rom,but the problem is that I can't find the cab that is installing this damn Clearvue program
I'm looking for someone who guide me which Cab is responsible for that(Gives me the name of the cab.file)...or....Any hero who guide me is it possible for me to change my current Ext_Rom with the another one that is not included that damn CLEARVUE???!!!
Thank you again for helping
Heloooooooooooooo
Isn't there anybody who direct me (and many others who have got the similar problem) by just saying how we can get rid of CLEARVUE in the Ext_Rom or at least replacing it with ACROBAR READER?
I already know how to un-hide AND Unlock the extended rom...
I need only the name of the cab file (which installs CLEARVUE),...nothing more...
It's NOT installed in the ExtROM, it's installed in the "base"ROM.

Hi Black Rose
I don't care where this damn software is,and I'm not gonna debate you over it...You just tell me what s the name of the cab.file...And if you are so sure about the location,so tell me also the place of it(Base or Ext-Rom?? )
Thanks anyway
I think clearvue is pre-installed in the base ROM, so there is no cab file to delete.
For me, I just ignore that clearvue or adobe LE is there. I just went ahead and installed Adobe 2.0 and everytime I tap a pdf file, adobe 2.0 opens.
If that doesn't work for you, you can use resco explorer to assign which default prog to open any file... similar to "open with" in XP or Vista.

Hi Putra
Are you sure it's not in the Ext_Rom?Because after a hard reset, whenever I prevent the Ext_Rom of customizing my device (Stop customization),I don't have the CLEARVUE installed on my mobile.
This is why I think it must be somewhere in Ext_Rom.Even some excerpts told me that I have to replace my Ext-Rom with the one which doesn't have CLEARVUE...But he didn't tell me exactly how I can find such a extended Rom and how I can do the replacement...I also needed to know if the replacement may damage the Original Rom of my device or not?
Thanks for helping me, anyway and I would be more appreciated if you help me a little more in that.
Ok, in that case, then it should be in your extrom. However, I also do not know which is the cab file. One way is to prevent the extrom customization, and then manually install each cab from the extrom....
Why don't you just leave clearvue in your device, and simply install adobe 2.0? I don't think clearvue takes that much space...
you can edit the ext_ rom by editing the folder content in WM6
I recomend to use winimage to edit extrom, it will lock the ext rom

winimage to use with extension.nb, as anewbie let forget how to use this one. if you need to kow, use search you;ll find a lot about how to use this one.
just look in the folder and remove it, or just edit the file Config.txt and remove the cab you don;t wanna install, it is so easy and don't need any clarification.

edit the files. delete any cab you want and instert anycab you want in the folder, but if you add a cab file then edit the file config.txt and and enter the cab file in it

My friends
I even checked the Config.text file within my Ext_Rom,but unfortunately even there was no name and trace of CLEARVUE?!?!!??But I' sure it must be there...since when I stop my device of being costumized after a hard reset,I never see this CLEARVUE in my programs...So that means it must be somewhere in Ext-Rom..Somebody...Some hero....some know-all tell me where?????And under what name?!?!??!??!??!?!?
please, we already answer this question, to help you more, what ROM do you use?

I still don't know why theme creators don't make a cab file of their themes. The only thing a theme is made of are manila files. With a cab file you also don't need the TFL3D config program. Simply click the .cab file on your device and you're done.
@ Theme makers: there is a application named Qickcab.exe. Cabs are so easy to use and you get rid of all the repeating questions on how to install .theme files.....

I think it's already a great favor that the theme creators make all the gorgeous themes and generous enough to share them with us (they could keep the glory to themselves, look at those gold and diamond themes. We could have been drooling at them instead of showing them off on our diamonds). Do you think we are asking a bit too much to ask the theme creator to make the new theme and then ask them, "why don't you make the .theme file as I don't bother to convert the .png to manila files? Why don't you make the .cab file even saving my time to install diamond config?" I think as fellow xda-developers who know what to do, we can help out by making them instead of asking the creators to do it themselves. Or create yet another sticky faq to explain it. imho. Anyway, I bet even when .cab is created, somebody would still post a question asking what to do with the .cab he downloaded.
I fully agree but its a hard work too to copy all files to windows folder...a theme file or cab isnt so much price to do for them. I think..maybe anyone of them dont know how to do it so why dont advice them...
Ok, sorry guys, in my previous posting it wasn't my intention to piss the theme creators off. I respect their hard work. But I find it a bit strange the way .themes have to be installed. First you have to install TFL3D config utility and then you have to make some additional steps to install a theme. Why not keep it simple and create a cab file of the theme ?
I think the knowledge of the theme creators is good enough to also find out how to create a cab file out of it.
Also creating a cab is a 3 click process. Takes only 30 secs extra
Will make a short guide how to make a cab in a moment.
The reason i make theme files instead of cabs is the file size..
I agree cab files is much easier, but they just get too big with a cab!
I use cab files for minor changes, like a clock or some icons...
exampel..
Vista Ultimate Theme.theme - 1560kB
Vista Ultimate Theme.cab - 9070kB

Ok that's a big difference. But How many files are in your themes ? Do you put all the manila files in it, or just the changed ones ?
In the end both will be 9070kB But I got your point.
theme file is much better than cab which cant be always uninstalable (experience with some clocks fot TF3D) and it isnt for me such a sacrifice to such a great themes to install this user friendly program

I have about 450 files... And I made it as small as possible..
It's not just the image files...
And it depends on who is installing it...
If you have the same TF3D as I have it would be enough to just install the changed files...
but If you have another TF3D you have to replace some other files too...

I think copying manila files is easier than installing as .theme (I haven't tried .cab so I can't say anything on that). I usually do it via bluetooth. All I need to do is to beam the relevant files (via bluetooth) and then move them to /windows (using Total Commander because you can select a batch of files to move instead of one-by-one). It doesn't take much time as the relevant files are not a lot (e.g. for the gold diamond theme, just fewer than 20 files). Simple drag and drop will do.
so first of all there is 200+ files so you have some lite version maybe
the second thing...Im using resco exp which is the best for me and every replace file in ROM i have to confirm very stupid, common File explorer is the same and I wont install another explorer just for installing themes...
Guys, guys, all That Is Good But I Still Didn't Get The Answer, why Can't I Put The Background Picture That Comes With The Theme In Th Background ? It Just Gives Me A Plain Background

200+ files for a theme? Well, I have tried the darkred/darkblue, gold, gold with diamond themes and they only have <20 files involved (all found in the thread Themes for TouchFlo3D). Where did you get the 200+ file theme? And don't use Resco exp. Use Total Commander instead. I have both on my diamond and Total Commander has an option "yes to all" (similar to Windows replace command) and all I need to do is to select the group of files, find the directory to move to and then "move" then "yes to all" and done. Just a few clicks on the diamond will do.
Or alternatively, you can wire connect your diamond to the PC and move everything from your pc (so that you don't need to touch any primitive file explorer on your diamond).
guys,r u gonna keep arguing & not answer my question,i installed a theme & came out very good but without the background,so how can i apply the background to it?

First of all I am new to all of this but have spent the last week trying to figure out what to do but failing badly - therefore apologies to you all if my question could be easily found through a google search ...., but I have failed to find it
So at the heading says - how do I install a theme/manila files onto my Ignito without using TF3D Config - I have tried copying them across to the windows directory but still cannot see them listed under the Today settings.
I am using TF3D, on a 1.93 rom on a O2 UK tariff
Fingers crossed someone will be able to help me in simple - idiot proof - instructions
Thanks all
Jean
Ermmm - in light of the fact 77 people have looked at this but not replied does that mean ....
a. Its a really stupid question not worthy of a reply
or
b. No one knows the answer
a lot of people use tf3d config on 1.93 roms with no known
problems.give it a try.you can always take it off again and
return to your stock rom.
Hi i have a 1.93 rom which had the o2 theme, i installed the original black theme on it using tf3d config and ive had no problems.

use total commander to copy and paste the files into the windows directory!
Is there actually a reason why you're trying to do this? TF3D Config is a quick and easy method for changing your theme so to try and accomplish this manually seems needlessly complex. Which, I'd guess, is probably why no one's answered your question; it's likely that no one has ever tried to do it manually as TF3D Config does it all for you.
For the record I've got the stock 1.93 ROM on O2 and I've managed to change theme with TF3D Config without any problems at all. My girlfriend's done the same with her stock 1.93 Vodafone ROM.
Hi All
Thanks so much - the problem I am having is that I can't find any themes within the TF3D config programme - so for example - it asks for a path to the file containing the theme - I highlight the theme location but it then does'nt load

loool OMG select the folder where your themes are located!
You can't select TF3D themes in the Today settings. A WM6 theme (.tsk files) yes, but no Touchflo.. You'll have to either use TF3DConfig> Create a folder called 'themes' (without quotes) in your storage card and put the xxx.theme files in there. Use tf3dconfig, press 'path', doubble click storage card, highlight themes, and press 'ok'. There has to be only .theme files in there, no folders or zip files, they don't work...
Or if you want to copy files to the windows directory, the method is to extract all the manila-files from a theme. Copy and overwrite all the manila files to the windows folder. Folders, zip-files or .theme-files do not work. Only manila files. I wouldn't recommend this one, but you gotta do what you gotta do..

Rom: 1.93.206.3 wme - Original o2 VERSION
TF3Dconfig: 0.6.7
It's very frsutrating as the process should be simple - yet installing a manila theme in anyway seems impossible - I can change the picture background via Flo and of course have a WM theme if I turn off Touch Flo - just not install a theme that intergrates with TFlo - thanks for the time and help
Yes I can imagine. But on the thread about tf3d config, it says 'Please do not install a Theme on a 1.93 ROM!' Maybe he's referring to stock roms? I also have a 1.93 rom, but it works without any hassle. You are not willing to update to a custom rom?
Have you tried to copy all the manila files to your windows folder? Use total commander.. original explorer does not work..
I think that's what I'm going to have to do - just less hassle if I can get away without replacing the rom - never mind it was worth a try - the weird thing is even copying across to the windows folder- via ActiveSyn - also does'nt work - so a bit stumped
Thanks for all the help though
You would have to use Total Commander to to copy files from your 4gb storage card to your windows folder. It doesn't work with activesync or explorer..
Ahh okay thats good to know -off to try!!!!
Perfect - fiddly - but worked a treat - it was trying to copy across via Active Syn that was the issue - hugely appreciated thank you
It's worth noting that this can't be an issue with stock ROMs because both my girlfriend and I have successfully updated our TF3D themes using TF3D Config and we both have stock 1.93 ROMs.
Not that that helps you out at all, but at least people reading this will know it is perfectly possible to do this using a stock ROM.

Same here, i have tried many themes on the stock o2 ROM with the TF3D config with no issues.
I can't believe so many people out there don't realize what the problem is. The aforementioned "Black and Blue" theme (and many others) is NOT a .theme file, so the TF3D Config application CANNOT be used to apply it. It is instead just a bunch of manila files that need to be copied into the Windows directory (with Total Commander from the sound of it). I have had the same problem with the same theme.
Are we being dumb in that there is a simple way to create the .theme file? From a collection of manila files?
Does anybody has Resco Explorer in ext package?
Tried to do it but i miss resco registry and resco ftp.
Thanks!!
What exactly do you want to get? I have it (selfmade).... But it's free for sure....
One more thing - I use OEM regular structure - not EXT (For OsBuilder). It's a normal package - with rgu and dsm.... Registry is a separate cab - you should add it to the package. FTP is a part of explorer - just added features.

Well, in Resco site there is one cab for all the subprograms that are included in the resco 2010 8.10 version.
It is this cab I tried to convert to ext package.Everyrhing works except registry function.
Thanks anyway.
Attached is the app.reg (renamed to app.txt because of forums limitations) file that I use for Resco Explorer with FTP and Registry plugins added.
I didn't clean it up so it also contains the keys and values for the options and settings that I prefer having.
For future reference, I had the same issue as you at first then I used a tool called Kheb to monitor the registry changes that happen when I install cabs and customize everything. Kheb can also make diffs between different registry snapshots and even generate OEM packages based on such diffs.
I did apply your REG file, but Resco Registry not work yet, the problem is a SETUP.DLL in to the Resco Explorer CAB, it contains a secret instructions and I believe that is impossible to open it, anyway I saw some cooks with Resco Explorer and Registry in their ROMs, it's obvious that they know the secret.
I also want to know.....pleaseeeee

Make the package with cab to package software (there is in all kitchens) and then replace the reg and app.dat files with the ones attached and cook it.Works for me.
The idea goes to MusicMonk but his attached file doesnt work for me.
Just use Kheb like MusikMonk suggested; it will capture all of the reg keys that are installed by the setup.dll. You can also look in the setup.dll with notepad and probably see the keys that are installed.
If you're trying to backup you registration info, it's stored in a file in \windows called wmtrigger.dat. All of Resco's registration codes are stored in that file, so if you have several of their apps, that's all you need.

I did apply your REG file but not works for me, anyway thanks for your help, mate.
I made a CAB file from the original Resco Explorer CAB, I deleted all files except SETUP.DLL and later run it and VOILA!!! the Resco Registry works !!!!!
Unfortunately I don't need it, I need the secret instructions in SETUP.DLL, I did open it using UltraEdit but I can't find nothing.
try this it should work, but your still gonna need the code as this is not cracked
Thank you, mate, but I found the secret reg keys in the setup.dll file. I used CeRegEditor to create a registry image, later install the cab with setup.dll and I created a image again, and finally I compared the first and second image to detect the differences.
I made a new reg and all works now
Thank you very much mates
fully working resco explorer package
Fixed some shortcuts added rtoday plugin, resco update, task manager that was missing and ftp in previous packages and is attached below.
Of course it needs the usual registration process.

Have you managed to have in built registration code in it so that you dont have to feed the registration key after the installation?

The registration code is in the wmtrigger.dat file in windows folder which is created after registration.
So you have to copy this folder after registration and put it in your kitchen.

All Resco products write registration to one file It's well known for ages and it's no need to discover anything. So if you decide to use several resco products - you should install and register them all and then save the summary wmtrigger.dat - it will be one for all installed Resco-s..... And for sure - system User name should be the same for all your roms - it's also fixed in that file...
One more tip: if you occasionally decide to use cracked resco products - you will get a conflict if you use for example one legal and one cracked program simultaneously in one rom. So better use all registered.

You can use sktracker in your phone.
This program traces the changes in registry and files so if you create a snapshot with the program and then install or register applications or change the options and user settings in applications (you better do it program by program) you can easily find the changes and apply them each time you change your rom.
I apply all mods with sashimi but there are other choices also.

I used to find the registry part of any cab or software by saving the registry and comparing the one before and after with the help of registry workshop on my PC, but did not know that there exists a utility with which wmtrakker.dat"" type of new file creation can also be found out.
Thanks a lot bro!!!
It's very good
Does anyone know how to backup Resco Customizations ( e.g ToollBar Shortcuts etc ? )
