I have couple of scratches on my touch pro screen.when the device is on the scratches are like rainbow colors really visible.If I change the touch screen (not the whole lcd screen) that will fix my problem right? Did any1 do this?
ummm i think when u meant by "rainbow colors" then ure gonna have to replace the WHOLE LCD screen, cuz more than likely its from the LCD screen, and i dont think the touch screen and LCD screen are 2 parts...i think theyre just one...not sure, but try to look on ebay OR idk if u have warranty on it u can probably call in HTC about it...

I wouldnt, thats just the only touch pro take apart that I found with pictures
mikechannon.net is a good place to start. But if you are looking to replace the digitizer only, you won't find it there. It's a bad move anyway. I tried that, cracked my lcd and end-up buying the whole lcd like this.
All I can tell you are my mistakes.... lol....
- never peel of the digitizer. it will ruin it.
- never try to remove the lcd with cutter blade. this is how i cracked it (stupid me and still regret it)
- between the lcd and the digitizer there is a thick, clear double tape like glue. i came across some information about this somewhere (forget where...). one said you should heat the glue first (don't know how to apply this without affecting the lcd) . other one said have to use dental floss.
So, there you go.

Hi everyone. I have SCOURGED the internet looking for some kind of decent instructions to replace the LCD & Digitizer screen on my HTC Touch Pro (Sprint) phone with the new set I purchased from Hong Kong. Mike Shannon's site does NOT give directions for this specific area.
I have seen you all talking about needing to do the same thing and wonder if anyone has done it? And do you have any directions to help me?
I've had this part for a month now, and can't find any directions to do it! My dog chewed it, and the touch works, but the screen is half black now. I read it is easier/less risky to replace both lcd and digitizer, which I went ahead and purchased them both with the tools, now I just need to find something decent (instructions) to have help replacing it.

You can use Google translate on it. It seems that the hardest component to get to is the lcd. I also bought the digitizer, since my lcd is fine. I'll post a follow-up if I go for it.

I bought a touch screen and digitizer as separate items. I wish I had known that some kind of clear adhesive is supposed to be between them.
A) What happens if you don't use this adhesive?
B) Has anyone successfully replaced the screen/digitizer with replacements on the fuze or touch pro?

Has anyone actually figured out how to install this? I just got what was supposed to be a replacement LCD+digitizer. they shipped the pieces seperate, so I can't understand how to put them together, since HTC seems to only list the part as one piece and there are no instructions or videos anywhere that indicate how to install them as seperate pieces, or get them to connect.

Ok, I just recently bought a parts phone on here (a Fuze) and was "just going to replace the digitizer" (Authors laughs, then cries at statement)
Ok, yes you can replace the digitizer without replacing the screen, BUT they tell you to use an oven (you can buy one from HTC they make it available to their techs, so you need someone that can get that for you). If you do not make sure that ALL of the glue is loose prior to taking the digitizer off you will split the LCD.
It is much simpler to get either a parts phone or a screen and digitizer and replace the part. I had to replace my digitizer as the touch function did not work. You can find older project phones in the market section. If you figure the cost of a parts phone (plus you have extra parts if anything else goes out) vs. if you buy a digitizer, then rip a part of the LCD because all of the glue was not disolved, and have to buy either a parts phone or a new phone anyway you will be way ahead of the game.
There are a number of good resources on here as to how to disassemble and reassemble the fuze.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TRYING TO REPLACE THE DIGITIZER ALONE IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED OR HAVE THE PROPER EQUIPMENT - unless you need a reason to sell your spouse on why you need a new phone. "Honey, I tried my hardest to fix it, but I guess it is really broke now, I'm gonna have to get an HD2"

1. Collect information
a. Find the Service Manual HTC Touch Pro (Raphael) on Mike Channons's site, the Raphael wiki or you could Google for it. File name is "HTC Raphael_SM_A10 _GENERIC__01 Dec 08.pdf".
Take a look at the disassembly and assembly chapters of the Service Manual.

The Diamond does not have an integrated keyboard, so it is a bit different, but it is good enough to get an idea of the process.
The information on how to replace the screen itself is not found in the service manual.
c. Study the last few stages of the HTC Touch Pro page on pdacenter.ru
(Translate the page into English using Google.)
The display is attached to the metal frame by 4 small pieces of double sided tape.
3. Get some tools
a. Phillips (cross head) screwdriver size 00x50
The right size is 00. The length, 50mm, is less important.
There is one torque screw in the Raphael (SPL no. 27), but it can easily be handled by a normal screwdriver.
b. Plastic stick (to open the case)
The standard plastic stick I had ordered was actually too big. The one I made myself was smaller and proved to be better.
c. Other tools
I did not use these, but if you plan to do more than one it would be a good idea to use the
- plastic tweezers
- ESD wrist wrap
- rubber gloves
4. Buy a display with touch screen attached to it
You could buy the touch screen and the display separately, but I could not find any information on putting them together. Avoid problems by buying these already attached.
5. Replace the display
a. Disassemble following the Service Manual, leaving the M/B unit in order.
Be careful not to break the small speaker cords. Do not move them too much because they are very fragile.
Be sure to keep every piece of tape safe for reassembly. Buying new tape can be quite expensive.
b. For the last stages, follow the instructions from pdacenter.ru.
Press the old display gently out of the metal frame. Move the pieces of double sided tape from the old to the new display, and fit the new one into the metal frame.
c. Reassemble following the Service Manual.

Will the lcd and digitizer from a sprint version work on an alltel version(ppc-6850)? Or is there another lcd and digitizer that i can use? Im back to the old berry 8703 and its killing me.

I don't see any soldering involved there. The digitizer is fitted with thin lines of some kind of glue or kit around the edges. I have not seen any documentation on it though.

you can look at the connect flex cable part of your touch screen and the lcd, you will find they are soldered together. Of course , if you don't soldering it together, it will also work, but not as good as after soldering.
Hello, can somebody help me ?, One day my hd2 fall on the floor and my digitizer crash, after that phone works well i had only few cracks on the sreen, 2 months later my phone fall second time but only from low-altitude on the floor. and my lcd stop work phone only vibrate and boot sound works but the lcd is black.do you think is somethink wrong with lcd or with motherboard ??? thanks a lot
It is the LCD, it has stopped working. Your digitizer may have stopped working too but you have no way of knowing this though as the LCD is not working. You can get a replacemeant digitizer and LCD that are already connected to repaiar it with. Do a search or have a good look through the threads in the back pages here and you will find a good bit of threads on people that have done this and go to Youtube and have a search there as it is some great DIY videos on doing this on there.

Yeah ebay will probably be the best place to get replacement components. And just a tip the Euroupean HD2 and T-Mobile HD2 replacement digitzer and LCD combos will fitt in either version of the HD2. But the T-Mobile ones do not have to me soldered to the main board and the Euroupean ones do have to be soldered. Now I do not know if the connector on the ribbon of the T-Mobile ones will be able to plug in to the Eroupean ones as i do not know if they have the resiprocating connector on the main board of the Eroupean models.
i have european version(non-us) P/N 60H00295-00P with ribbon wich need soldering digitizer so i look on ebay.but still i have care about motherboard:/

Not true!
T-mobile touch is connected to LCD through small connector and European version HD2 touch have to be soldered to LCD, but BOTH versions of 'LCD+touch combo' are connected to M/B through connector, no soldering is needed at all!

You may just be right my friend, it does look as if they both have the connector for the Main board. The combos come with the LCD and the digitizer already together, so yes there is no need for soldering. I was under the impression it was not his way. I will do further checking into this later as I just pulled up like 10 different sites but none show a picture that is conclusive enough for me to say for sure but good catch there pvii.

More of that, cable and connectors have the same size and pin nimber, seems that they are interchangeable (LCM+digitizer assembly of course). Motherboards have the same size and shape too, NAND is the only difference I could observe.

Anybody know if the connectors are the same for a LCD from a Samsung 10.1 (p7500) as the LCD in a windows tablet?
I have a Gigabyte S1082 (windows) tablet that has a 10.1 display, however the display on my Samsung Android 10.1 is by far far far superior. The LCD inside the Samsung has a way better back-light, better colors, and a way better viewing angle.
I don't think its a film or a protector on the digitizer, I think its a cheap LCD inside the Gigabyte.
Not sure if the width or height is the same, but I would think as most hardware for windows is plug n play, I could put any LCD in if it were the same dimensions right?
Ebay has lots of LCD's for the Samsung p7500.

I am not sure the chip that is soldered on the main board that communicates with the LCD is matched to a specific LCD or not. The Samsung 10.1 uses Samsung CMC6230R chip, and that resides on the main. Not sure about the Gigabyte tablet. However I would be willing to bet it might support a variety, because the tablet has VGA and hdmi out connectors.
I want to know if anybody has attempted to use a Samsung P7500 LCD on a different brand of tablet.
You can do this in a laptop, since the LCD is connected to a cable that passes through the hinge into the main body and plugs into the graphic board with a standardized connector.
In the case of tablets, things are a little more complex. If you open your Galaxy, you will see a long flat cable that connects the main board with the LCD screen (actually you will see three: one for the LCD, other for the touch glass and a third one for the docking connector). This flat cable is a plastic sheet with circuit tracks printed in it is shaped in a way that makes it rest just at the main board video connector. A different tablet can have the video connector in another place and so the LCD for that tablet will have a flat cable with a different shape.
What's more, if your tablet uses Wacom technology for use with a stylus, the "Wacom tablet" part will be integrated with the LCD and the flat wire will drive the signals for both the video and the Wacom digitizer.
As an example, the screens of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 are the same size and have the same resolution but they are not interchangeable because one has the Wacom digitizer and the other not so the connectors are different.
I don't think there is any standardization in the LCD connectors of tablets so chances are you can not connect your Galaxy LCD in your Gigabyte tablet.
But don't take my word for true. why don't you open your tablets and have a look to the flat cables and video connector to see if they look the same? Or you can browse ebay for LCDs for both tablets and most probably you can see the flat cable in the pictures.

On the back housing, not the battery door, but the back housing of the S5 There are small indentations near the bottom. One of them has either a "V" for Verizon or a "P" for Sprint. I was told these were specific to the phone because of LDS antennas inside the plastic and could not be swapped with each other. My question, to anyone who knows more about this, are these antennas specific to the frequencies these phones use, or (what i believe) are they just simple conductors inside the plastic and the frequencies are determined by the hardware? Like i said, I was told i cannot swap the Verizon (V) housing for a Sprint (P) housing because the antennas (LDS antennas inside the plastic) were not the same and therefore did not operate on the same frequencies. But then I'd have to wonder, if the phone was unlocked how would it be able to then operate on another frequency without swapping the housings each time. If someone knows more about this (even whether or not these antennas in the plastic even exist) please help me out. And if you have sources please include those so I can read into this as well.
