BUILT iN MICROPHONE - XPERIA X1 General

.
where the built in microphone is located?
.

im guessing at the bottom. probably some small slit along the silver lining. but thats just a guess

hey good question. i dont know either

Right below the deviece (below the OK button) there is a small hole (in my case) in the silver front cover. That small holl is the mic.

and I though mine had a small dent

Hinges...

Hi Guys...
Just both another 2nd hand dopod... the hinges are little bit loose on the right side. Check another one ...same side loose.
How long before this hinges get loose ? It is bothering you ?
Can I order the hinges and change it mayself ?
Thanks
get a tiny screw driver and unscrew the single black screw you see on the KB base when you 1/2 swivel the screen. from there the screen will come off. CAREFULLY bend the metal plate (like a potatochip) that secures the screeen the the KB base. this onyl works in your base plate is slightly bent if the swivel mechanism itself is loose, then don't do this. when i dropped mine this did the trick like nothing else.

Hermes Keyboard

Hi,
I am just checking on my new Softbank Hermes
Just noticed that the keys the farthest right of the keyboard are little bit deeper (or sunk) that the ones on the left...but they response perfectly.
Are your unit the same ?
Thanks
anyone ? I have 3 days for exchange ..
I have an HTC Tytn and my keyboard is not like that.
My T key has a big oval of paint scraped off of it, and the backlight shows through, seems the center of my keyboard had a hump in it.
If you can exchange it, I likely would.

Internally the Hermes has on one side of the keyboard (can't remember if this is shown on the wiki pictures) a foam rubber block running from the qwerty row down to the spacebar row. At the opposite end this is absent as internal parts make up the gap. It does not surprise me that there is some uneven-ness in external appearance though this should be very minimal. If your keyboard works perfectly I'd hang onto it given numerous reported problems with unresponsiveness of keys.
My keyboard if anything is a fraction higher in central area but not so high it scrapes on screen assembly.
Mike
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the tip...
Browsing from the pics, youre right, the left side has this foam block and the other side has none. That's why the keyboard is high on the left side and slowly sinking going to the right...(around half of millimeter..)
My unit is working perfectly, and I dont want to change it if the unit would be the same.... it might be the design ,...

Quite right would be a gamble. Was just about to guide you to pictures just as you replied saying you'd seen them!!
Mike
Dont know why you have a hump on the center part of your keyboard...your foam block might be in the center in your case ?
I also saw that the keyboard PCB is fixed by a clip on the right and a black thing on the left side...do you know what's this thing ?
so...there a way to "perfect it" by putting a slightly thinner foam on the right side to equalize the pressure...
Do you have a pic on how to do it ?

Extra piece....jk, I have no idea lol.
Don't know what it's called but it goes on a square bumped out piece of metal near the antenna plug and vibrate thing on the top of the mainboard.
Same thing happen to me..
Looked like it's some sort of a "Mic Rubber Cap" which would help the device to easily acquire the noise that has been transmitted to the mic. Have you noticed that small hole on the bottom of your phone right beside the USB rubber cap? That's where it should be located parallel to the motherboard. I suggest you dismanlte and put it back again...
Btw, are there any differences on the mic while that rubber is out? perhaps you should try calling someone to test it...

Strange Hole in SD card slot Area

I got to looking at Acer case and noticed three small holes almost centered at the top of the cover flap (above the Acer logo). They seem posistioned over the card slot cover. Lifting the slot cover you will see a hole at the lower left corner. What is for? It was important enough to have Acer put three holes in the cover. I though it might be a microphone, so tried recording and covering up the hole to see if it affected sound levels...it didn't. Anybody have any ideas?
- Microphone
- Unknow (noise cancelation ?)
- Light Sensor
I'm pretty sure the second hole is the noise cancellation mic...
lol ... my other half took a quick glance at the thread and posts ... and then a double take ...

[Q] SOLVED small rubber part left over after disassembly. Where does it come from?

I have to replace my broken touch screen. I found two good links on how to do so here and here.
Everything works fine. However, I have one small rubber part with a hole left. See attached photograph. I don't know where it comes from. Does anyone recognise? It could fit on the light sensor, but both links above do not show it.
Any clues?
I am not sure. First thing I thought about was the rubber on the microphone hole at the bottom of the telephone. When I scratch with my nail over the microphone hole, I feel that there is soft rubber inside the hole. Hope this helps .

no, it doesn't. that part is smaller and still there. thx anyway. I will leave it out and hope it won't effect the behaviour of the phone.
Solved!
Solved it using an Aria thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861697
it is the cover for the proximity sensor.
