Does someone know if some radio exists for the shift?
It me does not work 3g and I believe that this will can to solve....
Hi There,
i asked some of the pro's to get me a RADIO rom too cause i like to get the radio dumped too, what is your current radio version ??
Greets
my radio is 1.58.21.23, but I have problems with that. do you have any problem with the 3g conection?
no problem it has way better connection 3g than my diamond laying directly next to it. As no HSDPA availl by my telco i cant say anything about that.
i dumped the rom so anyone with expirience can cook a flashable radio rom of it ?!
http://rapidshare.com/files/166050083/files_dumped.zip
Here some infos possibly helpfull for linux dev MSM7200side
SMI Memory BASE 0x0 size 33554428
EBI Memory BASE 0x13800000 size 8388608
SMM Script BASE 0x9595b0 size 200
Neutron, do yoy know if there is an original radio in any place?
and... what are exactly de files from rapidshare?
The files i provided are dumped like sayed in the HTC - wings post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359015
As i dont know how to make a flashable rom out of that i just uploaded them so one of the pro's could possibly make a flashable rom out of it.
AFAIK there are no official upgrades for RADIO rom.I googled for that quiet offten and found nothing.
But if you search for the Radio version in this forum u get Polaris roms with exactly THAT number AND in the NV items there are some config stuff called *_POLAR_* so i think we got the HW of polaris into our shift.
Anyone can confirm that ?
Greets
ps.

Modifyed RADIO from polaris to kaiser with that VERSION number we got in our Shift !!!
1) proper radio dump is not made via the qpst memory debug, you should dump radio nand instead.
2) shift can use kaiser/polaris etc radios, i flashed patched one to supercid my shift but that's not enough to enable voice

Hi all
been on this site a while now and with 02 stopping the download of there official 6.1 release it has forced me to look elsewhere,
I have looked online here and decided i would like this one,
M2D Diamond W/3D Drivers - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441079
I knwo i will need to install hard spl first, the main quetsion was that this says that no radio come with it,
Do i need to find a radio rom? or will it use my existing one?
I really have no idea! any help would be appriciated!
Thanks
From my minimal experience, I think that the ROM will use your existing radio. At least this is what happend to me when flashing ROMs without radio. As a suggestion for radio I say the 1.59.42.23 version. I see better signal.
If you don't flash a new radio it will use the existing one.
Normaly cookers say what radio they recomend, i'm using myself 1.59.42.23 with good results.

Hi,
Radio 1.64.08.21 is not compatible with latest WM 6.1 ROMs, if you flash it you will not have Camera and phone working correctly.
regards
What would you reccomend to be the best verison for it?
1.59.42.15 or 1.59.42.23
The best and most compatible radio for cooked Wm6.1 is in my opionion 1.59.42.23!
1.64.08.21 is NOT the newest one - don't wonder about the higher version number - it was portetd from another device!
I have now downlaoded 1.59.42.23 radio,
if it doesnt work can i always revert to an older radio rom?
also does anyone know what radio the official 02 xda 6.1 relase has since i think i have them at the momnet,
Anyway i can fin this out?
Is it worth upgrading?

Radio file download is asking for a password......
Never mind - Tried PhamQuang and it worked!!
OK, initial response.
Camera works fine.
Voice and data fine too. Hard for me to talk about signal strength etc. as I work in the city and always get good signal here.
As for battery usage, well we're going to have to wait and see.
Also to note, the download only contains radio nbh file, ie no RUU.
Trying in progress...
So, tested 1.59.44.02 yet and its very great for me.
Compared to 1.59.42.15 IGO8 found satellites within 20 seconds - 1.59.42.15 needs about 5 minutes.
Cell-Phone is also working very fine.
Thanks für it.
can someone please tell me if the signal strength is improved with the new radio?
or is there an official info about the changes in the new rom and radio?
Chinese ROM, CDMA only or for all ROM ?
No need to hardspl with this RUU ?
Works great with SFR (France).
I don't test the GPS thing yet.
For communication, I have a good feedback.
Sorry for the newbie question, but how can I install this new radio? I'm very interested since my reception is quite poor with the actual radio on my Polaris...:-(
Thanks for your input

put RUU and .nbh file in one folder and run Polaris_CustomRUU.exe
thk you
thk for this radio rom !
I test in france
Thanks for this radio ROM.
With radios 1.59.42.15 and also 1.59.42.23 I had a lot of problems with loosing GPS signal in navigation programs. Specially with IGO.
But I think that with this radio all problems with GPS are solved.
And one strange thing. The size of file of this radio is exactly same like 1.59.42.23
And yes everything works OK in Europe.
it is great work in my o2 xda orbit2 in o2 Germany. now test standby time.
Anyone tried this radio with udK´s Syrius R 4 yet?
I am using udK´s Syrius R4, great Rom, and I want to keep it. So far the only radio Rom I could operate with R4 without major problems was ...42.23. Anyone tried this radio Rom with R4 yet?
I got a message
RUU is not valit Polaris application. Can not do anything.
Sorry I made mistake
It has to be placed at PC folder but still I am not sure if it will work. During installation appeared a question if I have to update Rom current version.
I expected that will be updated only radio. If Rom what about installed software- will remaining or will be deleted?

Just update this radio ROM.
Just radio Rom will be updated. You will NOT lose anything on your phone.

radio 1.59.44.02
Hi:
I'm using this new radio with Touch Navia 1.4 Pro and it is working well. I noticed that the camera image is a lot more stabilizd with this radio. I was using the 23 radio before this.
since i flashed to windows 6.5 my gps does not work , meaning all software detect the hardware but the gps does not detect any signal
now i cant get back to windows 6.1 again , it always hangs up at 33 % whichever rom it is
try this
try this
1. Hard SPL polaris
2. Instal radio 1.58.x.x
3. hard SPL polaris again
4. Instal the new ROM 6.1
This will work...
helpz
now i could flash the wm6.1
but the gps is nto working at all
the hardware is detected well with all software but no signal is detected at all
?????
Try flashing the original ROM from HTC support website!
Usually its the wrong radio ROM. Use radio ROM 1.58.x.x or the recomended radio ROM for your custom ROM.
i got the original from the support site
it the same problem , it uses radio 1.59.42
rom 3.13.405 wwe

weird indeed. Go claim your warrenty. something wrong with hardware....
Sorry if this is stupid question but when cooking a rom, how or where is the spl version of the device specified?
Is this something I need to cook in specifically or does the rom's sys etc dictate the spl version needed?
Basically I am trying to create a base rom for my spare athena, I have dumped a stock 6.0 rom and plan to port a 6.5 build to it, giving me a base to work from, but the athena can use 2 spl's 1.2 and 3.5 and I dont want to mess anything up.
Many thanks
Sean
Sorry really to be a pain here, but if someone does not mind, can they explain to me ROM, Radio and HSPL? I think i know that ROM is the software running on your phone. but it that version number increased everytime someone make a custom ROM out from an official one?
Radio as far as i know is for wifi, radio, etc. is this correct ? And final we have HSPL, now what do need that for, and for what use it is?
I am ofcourse asking these questions because i started to look at all the nice ROM's out there and not sure if i should stick to what im doing and keep going for the higher numbers. Would be very happy if someone could quickly explain them all properly and then maybe guide me to other links where i can read more...
Thank you in advance...
SPL - Secondary Program Loader - Think of it as the BIOS of your phone. It starts the operating system loading, and when you flash it verifies cid and region locks.
HSPL - Hard Secondary Program Loader - This is the creation of Bepe and Cotulla and Co. and is a hacked version of the official SPL that bypasses the checks when you flash a rom. It requires SPL 1.42.0000 on your phone to use.
This is the only version that works for telstra phones.
HSPL2 - is an upgrade to HSPL that allows witching between most of the available SPL's, and also their HSPL equivalents. (So if you want to install cooked roms, you might choose 2.08.HSPL, whilst if you want to go back to official, you would choose 1.42.0000 in the HSPL2 dropdown)
HSPL1024 - Is HSPL specific to the tmous hd2.
hardware ROM - The Read Only Memory of the phone. Think of it as the hard disk in your device. This is your storage memory.
'the' rom - When we talk about flashing roms, we mean the file that installs the whole operating system on your phone. This file is 'flashed' to the rom storage space, where it installs itself. After it finishes configuring itself, whatever is left is your available storage memory. (usually around 180 meg on a standard hd2)
Official ROMS have version numbers such as 1.66 , 1.72. 2.10.
Version numbers of cooked roms are meaningless. They only apply to that chefs roms. He/She applies versions as they see fit, however you can get a fair bit of info from the ro mthread title.
Example, they will usually tell you the base of the rom, i.e what stock rom was used as a base, 1.66, or 2.10 for example, and also the windows build version, (the 5 digit 21xxx number, i dont know whats what with those, but the higher ones are winmo 6.5.x) and more as you get used to reading them.
radio hardware - The different models have different actual hardware that connects to the mobile network. That is why you cant get 3g on at&t with a T Mo USA hd2. No matter what software radio you flash, the hardware is wrong.
radio rom - The radio software sits between windows mobile and the hardware. It controls the hardware based on what you want to do. There are all kinds of reports of better/worse battery life, connection strength, sound quality results when flashing digfferent radios.
flashing a radio does NOT require a hard reset, so wont affect your install.
Some roms (example the 576 meg enabled roms) require specific radios, read the rom posts for info.
The big danger with radio flashing is only applicable to tmous users, , if they flash a radio with ..51.. in the version number, their phone dies.
A useful read. I hope you got a thank you...
heh, well i got one now, cheers,
Dear Samsamuel !
Tx a lot ! Although I study this forum now since I am a HD2 owner (who never flashed a cooked ROM) I start to understand these cryptic topic now by Your explanations, making me more brave to try it once. Tx
The only thing I still can´t figure out is: WTF are the REAL differences of the stock-ROMS eg. what EXACTLY is changed between ROM 1.43 WWE, 1.48 WWE, 1.66 WWE, 1.72 (no WWE methinks).
I got so far to understand that some ROM-upgrades are just earlier ROMs with all the following patches included, but some are a major switch from WM 6.5 to 6.5.x and Sense 2.5.19xxxx to 2xxxx, giving new features like rotation in all Sense-Screens.
Plz, get me right, I spend all bad-weather-weekends hours and hours reading in the ROM-cooker-section, read XDA on my HD at airports and train stations but the shere mass of info provided - a little bit here, an info there - prevents me to get the WHOLE picture. There is a thread about which ROMs are officially out till now but with NO Info about the differences between them and which is a major UPGRADE (WM 6.5 to 6.5.x, Sense 1xxx to 2xxxx) and which is simply a better working "older" ROM.
I got my HD 2 now by the help of the geniousses here (You, Cookie, netripper, Moonah, netdrg, BsB, TX, metaldetector-lady and, and, and -and SKTools ) to work perfectly, smooth and without any fault but still would like some features like full rotational capab of Sense, which is provided by later ROMS. BUT WHICH ROM IS THIS ?
Maybe someone could add some infos ´bout that as a sticky thread ?? to decide wether to flash or not to flash when a new official ROM is issued by HTC, cause every ROM upgrade causes a hell of a work to make the HD2 work as smooth and flawless as before (I have now about 50 apps installed and configured to my needs).
Tx for Your understanding
