Can anyone please confirm that this device can support multiline, ie, two lines on the one sim, besides orange UK providing this service a couple of other companies outside the uk also do.
Can someone please advise????
cheers

Is there anyone in the US that has successfully sent or received faxes on T-Mobile USA? If so, can you give me some information on what you did/what T-Mobile did for you?
I've read the other posts, and they indicate the fax features are provider dependent and, in the case of receiving faxes, you actually need a second, dedicated number.
Cingular's stance might be interesting, other than the fact that I'm in the T-Mobile contract for another 4 months... <G>.
Thanks.
I tried to use this software before. The TMobile tech guy told me I would need to add CSD service to my account for another $9.99/month. I was not interested so I didn't pursue it further. I read somewhere that if you're lucky you don't have to get a different number. Otherwise to get CSD service, they might have to give you a different number. Don't know if it is true.
I have a Qteq 9000 with T-mobile service here in the US. I will be traveling alot to the UK. I'm going to be getting a vodaphone account / sim card. Do I need to ask for anything special when I order it and I need someone to help me with the settings. I will be using it mostly for email and internet. As a side note, this forum has been a great help in setting up and using my device. Thanks to all.
You need to be extra careful to get their confirmation that the SIM supports both voice and data. You may also need to be able to provide a UK address, so let one of your friends over there buy it for you.
@bryang

As anybody manage to get this handset to work with sky anytime or view the sky programmes available on the Vodafone handsets, if so could someone explain how this would be done. I'm on t-mobile but I have a Vodafone Pay as you go sim, but I 've been trying for about four days now on the phone with HTC as well as Vodafone (who are crap) both are saying that this should be possible but neither could provide me with the setting that work for this service and just kept batting me from one place to another !
Does anyone know if the UK networks are blocking ports to prevent VOIP usage? I've followed all the advice to get VOIP up and running on my TyTn's and P3600's but no luck at all. All my handsets still say 'Service Blocked'.
I have two TyTn's, both with PAYG sims (one from T-Mobile and one from O2 and three P3600's. All of them report Service Blocked.
Any ideas?
tmob definitely block them, i would be surprised if O2 didn't. if you did a search you'd find that a lot of people have found this too.
OK,
O2 say they don't but in my experience they do
T-Mobile tell you that they a) will do everything they can to stop you and b) tell you that they close your account/charge you a lot if you try. However, this can be remedied by using the `Web'n'Walk Max` subscription instead of the normal or plus version. This is what I use and have had no problems.
Vodafone basically told me, very politely, where to go if I didn't want to spend around £120/month, this was a few months ago and I don't know how the situation may have changed.
Virgin don't seem to be interested in this subject at all, I've failed to find anyone who wasn't reading off Autocue to talk to and so haven't discovered what I wanted to know.
Orange have a reputation for filtering, they also wanted to charge me per KB so I never really found out if it was possible.
I'm sorry but I have no experience of other carriers. Currently I use T-Mobile Flex 35 and Web'n'Walk Max; the only issues I've come across has been with dialing up through bluetooth and 3G, this is probably a lack of correct settings.

Hi,
Posted this on the Hero page, but thought I'd open it out to the wider Dev community....
Has anyone found a way to enable ALS for Android? This is a GSM standard that is seldom used by operators - Orange being the only UK operator to offer it (to Business users only now).
Am reliably told (Orange tech and also searching/googling here/elsewhere) it isn't supported by default on the Hero, but then there are many things that don't work on stock operator ROMS, aren't there?........
If someone could give me a definitive answer I would be most grateful - preferably before the return bag arrives from Orange! Happy to flash, tweak and generally frig around if I can keep my shiny Hero....
Will Radio/ROM fix this
Update:
Since this post, I have heard that this facility works on the 3 network in Sweden. Does anyone know which ROM is in use on this operator/region? Better still, how does it compare to the Orange UK ROM (i.e. is it newer?). I am hoping that a newer ROM/Radio may have ALS support fixed/enabled.
So, once again - can any of the cooks help?
