hi all. i have followed numerous guides online, but cannot get my phone on Cricket's network. my ESN is activated, and i can get *611 and *228 to work. all other calls forward to "American Roaming". the current setup is:
Radio 3.42.50
dcd 3.3.4 flash
nue2.47 SPL
1039/1050 PRL
i can access my EPST with a non 000000 code (stupid Qwest) but *228 doesn't work. it will only spit an error after "15 failed attempts" and reboot. i do not have access to a Windows machine running QPST as the drivers are fudged and i would have to reinstall to get the 6700 drivers to work (not my favourite O/S)
i think my issue is in the PRL. Cricket gave me a 5 number MSID last time i called so i think i will be calling them again :/
thanks for any help!
Found this on another forum...hope it helps..

First and most important is the SID number Cricket uses for your area. In Phoenix it is 4923. Every market has a different SID, I had a link to a website that listed all the SID's used by all the carriers in all the US markets but I had to format and reinstall Win XP and lost a great deal of my info. I found the link on Howard Forums, a person whose name was 3 letters starting with X__. Anyway go into that programming menu and in the NAM 1 setup you need to enter the SID, and enter your 10 digit phone number where it asks for MIN and MDN. They may be called other things, (mobile id number, phone number, directory number, MSID) but usually it's just your number you need to enter. The rest of the stuff in the programming menu just leave as it is or set to default value. Now if you are lucky when you dial 611 you will get Cricket's automated system and you only need to give the rep your ESN for them to activate your phone on the network. If you still get VM's CS when dialing 611 then you will need a data cable, free software called BITPIM and a copy of Cricket's current PRL file. That file is automaticly downloaded to your phone when dialing *228 but like I said if your not getting Cricket with 611 then the data cable is needed to manually load the file. Post back here if you have any problems and I will try to help. I have sucessfully done this for two phones (only voice and text msging, don't have parameters to make MMS and BREW work yet)so it is possible. Good luck.

never mind guys. they changed my phone number! $#%#[email protected]!
oh well. anyway, this forum has been great, and i thank you for all the help!
thanks crobs808
i am up and running. it seem that the MSID number is a phone number different from mine, however, if i enter my original phone number as the Mobile Directory number, all is well!
so they can be different on Cricket, though the MDN is the one that calls, texts respond to

I have T-Moble here in the US and updated my Pocket PC Phone edition rom versio 4.00.16 ENG and noticed they have this call barring feature in the phone settings that lets you bar incoming or aout going calls but to activate you have to enter a call barring password does anyone know what it is.
i never used or tried it, but i was told its the last 4 digits of your social securty # or last 4 of your fone #
I tried both abd it didnt work but thanks for the info
I always thought call barring was done through the sim/service provider password.
T-Mobile also uses 1234 as a default password often.
also try 5678
Thanks again people i will try thpse suggestions today
Where did you find a 4.00.xx update for Tmobile? I just checked their site and they still had the old Nov 2002 3.16 code up there.
Thanks,
If you look at the ROM Update section of this forum you will see we have easy access to various 4.00.xx ROM updates.
SIM PIN 1 & 2
Ok, I had an experience earlier this year where one of my t-mobile phones (not the PPC) wanted "Sim Pin 2" to access a feature. I ended up getting my sim pin blocked and called up t-mo support. After a little bit of "Try to get the information out of the dumb support person" I finally had the person ask me "Well, I could give you PUK1 and PUK2, if you think that would help", I said i thought it might, and she gave me the two keys to the kingdom (Along with what SIM PIN 2 was originally, just a random string of number). The moral: Call T-Mobile, tell them you have a feature that you can't unlock and that you think you've screwed up your phone bigtime. If they ask if you want to send it in, say no, that you think you can fix the problem if they give you these weird PUK numbers or PIN numbers. They'll probably just be happy to get you off the phone, and these might be the numbers you're looking for.
Tmobile has a special plan called the "data-only" plan that automatically blocks all incoming or outgoing calls. However, it still allows emergency dialing (911) and 611 calls... Just call a rep and have them set you up with that plan! Everything costs the same...
Ok I exagerated a bit in the title, but...
I bought this HTC 6800 Bell, from a nice guy, unlocked, upgraded, GPS activated, WM6.1. Bell entered my ESN in their system, gave me my MSL unlock code and when I dial ##(MSL)# and hit the talk button, the phone does not get into programming mode at all. I even tried a few HTC ##codes# and none of them succeed to get into programming mode.
Instead, the phone calls the ##code# and somehow gets redirected to a Bell Mobility recorded message telling me to call the activation hotline. Which I finally did. The person could not do anything, so he sent me to a Bell Mobility store, where another very skilled person was unable to do the programming.
What is supposed to happen when you enter your MSL unlock code? Anyone can help me?
I flashed successfuly a few DCD ROMS (3.3.4, 4.1.2), they all worked fine but I still can't activate the phone with my MSL
Thanks
If you're using DCD's ROMs, make sure you have installed the Bell carrier cab from DCD.
http://dcd1182.n715dp.com/index.php?dir=carriers%2F&download=dcd+Bell+Carrier+20081031.cab
then try ##778# or ##778[dial]
after that it'll ask your for your MSL... should be just 000000
Thanks. That was the problem. The phone works well now. Thanks again.
I have a qwest ppc6800 that i put the alltel software on. Im trying to do the esn change, which is now available online so i can do that, but then when it says to dial *228 it will say programming, but it will not do the programming, it just says "the number or code you dialed is incorrect" or something like that. It wont let me dial any numbers, just gives me that message even for any codes. Any idea what the deal with that is?
change spc to 000000 using qpst or cdmaworkshop
Ok i searched and cant figure this out. I found the cdma workshop and downloaded it. I tried getspc but just read that it dont work on the qwest branded phones. So, sounds like i have to do what you said. But i cant figure it out, i cant connect my phone to that program. Can i get some more info on how to do this?
Anyone? I really want to try this phone out and see if i can get it hooked up to my number. I just need to be able to do the OTA programming. I just cant figure out how to get the unlock code and change that.
I found something called pocket putty, no idea how to set that up or anything. Im clueless right now, but i got the programs so if anyone can help me.
So no on that is on knows how to do this?? Ive searched and searched and its pissing me off. Ive also now tried BAFMSL or whatever it is. It went on my phone, says its installing but it dont show up in the programs menu so i dono..............
How do i get that bafmsl thing working??? I put the .net it said i needed and it installed successfully. It brings up a little list like its installing the bafmsl but the ****ing thing wont show up in the programs so i dont know what to do.......................................
You will need CDMA Workshop 2.7 cracked to do what you want. Google it.
You need the SPC . If you don't know the SPC then unless it can be read with cdmaworkshop without having to know it already, my suggestion is to flash it to sprint which will change it to their spc for your esn, then run getSPC on the phone and enter the phones esn to get the correct spc. then goto cdmaworkshop, enter that spc and then change it to 000000
Flash the Alltel flash then. which will get rid of the sprint crap. then you can do the *228 (Be sure to put a Alltel PRL in it if you do not use the actual alltel loader (if you unlocked your phone with olipro then you would need to relock or use the sdcard flash method, i recomend the sdcard method) you can used cdmaworkshop to put the prl in it.)
if after all that you cannot get it to *228 (it should state alltel wireless when you call it) then start dialing *22801, *22802, *22803,*22804, *22805 until you hear alltel. you will find other carriers in your area this way, just hang up until you find alltel. some will not dial.
Good Luck. I'm sure theres a easier way, but those will get you there.
I downloaded some stuff form a torrent, its cdma tools. It has cdma workshop and cdma workshop cracked, but the cracked one does not work. It says you cannot run this without a password or sometihng, but the regular one starts up fine.
There are multiple things ive read that read the spc, but none of them are working. The one method i read doenst work on this particular branded phone. And the others will not work for me. There is a bafmsl grabber or something like that, put it on my phone and try to install it, but it doesnt show up in the programs menu. Thats supposed to give me the unlock code, i think.
I have no idea how i unlocked and switched the phone, i did it a while ago. I had help on here tho so maybe its in my other thread about how i did it, cuz i dont remember at all.
Will the spring software make it so i can use getSPC? This phone is branded QWEST and i read that getspc dont work on the qwest branded phones. Which must be why it wouldnt work for me.
I kinda doubt installing the sprint software will change the spc but you might be lucky. Try this method if this doesn't work you may be out of luck.
I just upgraded to a new phone and planned on giving someone else my old Mogul. I put on DCD's 4.1.2 rom just to put everything back to a stock setting while the phone was not active with anyones phone number. When I tried to activate the phone for the friend, it successfully traded ESN's on Sprint's end, but I am unable to change any of the MDN or MSID (I think thats what they are?) settings on the phone.
I put in the codes, ##(number)# and it simply stays at the dial pad. It doesn't try to go to my MDN or MSID settings.
I called sprint and tried several different numbers [##(number)#] with no luck at all.
I figured it was the rom, so I've tried DCD's 4.1.2, 3.3.4 roms, and I've tried Mattsm's 6.5 rom, and they all do the same thing. I put in the number, and it just stays at the dial pad.
I'm lost, any suggestions?
Can someone please dial ##DATA+call and please sell me the default PST values for the VERIZON Trophy (if you have another carrier, it will not help me!). If you do not know what values to leave out, you shouldn't be the one making this post (meaning, do not post your own ESN, MEID information, its for your security!)
I need these values because I ran HTC Connection Setup (the newest offical one off the market), and now my phone refuses to get a data connection even after a factory reset. I believe the program changed some settings that are not programmed during *228 option 1 activation. Phone works fine as a phone and with SMS.
I get the feeling that my data key got nuked, and that I will have to upload a public data key to the phone in diagnostic mode (I do not know the code for DIAG mode). I just want to make sure the other values are okay before going that far.
I would rather do this myself to fix it rather then send the phone back to HTC.. but if that's what I must do.. then I will do it!
Any other codes anyone has would be appreciated. I haven't found a definitive list of codes for the HTC Trophy (any model), and wouldn't mind making another thread with all of those codes.
