Call barring password on T-Mobile US ??? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I have T-Moble here in the US and updated my Pocket PC Phone edition rom versio 4.00.16 ENG and noticed they have this call barring feature in the phone settings that lets you bar incoming or aout going calls but to activate you have to enter a call barring password does anyone know what it is.

i never used or tried it, but i was told its the last 4 digits of your social securty # or last 4 of your fone #

I tried both abd it didnt work but thanks for the info

I always thought call barring was done through the sim/service provider password.

T-Mobile also uses 1234 as a default password often.

also try 5678

Thanks again people i will try thpse suggestions today

Where did you find a 4.00.xx update for Tmobile? I just checked their site and they still had the old Nov 2002 3.16 code up there.
Thanks,

If you look at the ROM Update section of this forum you will see we have easy access to various 4.00.xx ROM updates.

SIM PIN 1 & 2
Ok, I had an experience earlier this year where one of my t-mobile phones (not the PPC) wanted "Sim Pin 2" to access a feature. I ended up getting my sim pin blocked and called up t-mo support. After a little bit of "Try to get the information out of the dumb support person" I finally had the person ask me "Well, I could give you PUK1 and PUK2, if you think that would help", I said i thought it might, and she gave me the two keys to the kingdom (Along with what SIM PIN 2 was originally, just a random string of number). The moral: Call T-Mobile, tell them you have a feature that you can't unlock and that you think you've screwed up your phone bigtime. If they ask if you want to send it in, say no, that you think you can fix the problem if they give you these weird PUK numbers or PIN numbers. They'll probably just be happy to get you off the phone, and these might be the numbers you're looking for.

Tmobile has a special plan called the "data-only" plan that automatically blocks all incoming or outgoing calls. However, it still allows emergency dialing (911) and 611 calls... Just call a rep and have them set you up with that plan! Everything costs the same...

Hermes not showing name display

My provider, Fido, offers a service where the name of the caller and telephone number show up. It's called name display. Unfortunately, on the hermes, the name does not show up. I only get the telephone number.
I have used another phone with this service and the service works.
I have been through several roms and they all give the same result. Any clues to what could be going on?
bump bump77
I never knew there was this funtionality from the provider......
Always thought there was a conversion on the phone when there comes a call in. Number recognition is we'll known, name send with the provider I have never heard off.....
Hope someone has an answer for you!
http://www.fido.ca/portal/en/support/namedisplay.shtml#q01
"What is Name Display?
It's a unique service exclusively offered by Fido and Rogers that lets you see on your handset display a caller's NAME and phone number from Fido, Rogers Wireless and landline callers across the nation, even if it isn't entered in your phone book. So you'll always know who's calling you. "
dying to find a solution
I have Hermes from Rogers. I have name display and of course stop working after upgrading to WM6.
just to prevent duplication, please read what I've done so far at the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3078617&postcount=9
I don't have enought info or experience. Can anybody help? Work together or direction whatever...
This cannot be impossible. I don't think HTC developed a driver only for Rogers.

Calls to this number are barred

If this question has been answered before I’m sorry I’ve had a search but can’t find anything.
I’ve using a HTC Touch which was on Orange, I’ve unlocked it and now use Virgin.
The problem is when I try to get my voice mail all I get is the message “calls to this number are barred”. This is annoying as this is one of the reason I prefer Virgin you don’t get charged for them.
Is this a normal thing when you unlock a phone from Orange or is there something staring me in the face that I have missed.
Can anyone help please?
it may still be calling the orange voicemail by the sounds of it, check the voicemail number
i moved from orange to Vodafone and then to O2, and have never had that problem,
I just had this problem moving to a SonyEricsson Xperia X1 on Virgin Mobile UK.
My voicemail access number was +44-051-<mynumber>.
Turns out that the phone dialer was taking out the '0' from the dialing string and I'd get the "calls to this number are barred" message.
After trying a whole bunch of different ROMS and spending quite some time on the phone to the Virgin support staff, I was nowhere. Eventual solution was to add an extra 0 and dialling +44-0051-<mynumber> - the phone dialer only takes out one '0'.
Hope this helps some other frustrated soul.

[Q] Using S4 overseas (hack to display/use your local number)

Ok... where do I start...
A few weeks ago, I remember seeing something on a thread (I am 99% sure it was XDA) that was talking about using a US CDMA/GSM phone overseas. You would purchase a SIM card which would in turn allow you to make calls/text etc with a LOCAL Foreign number.
The thread was a "hack" that somehow would let you do the above... but it would display your US Local number (i think so that you could call back home to US and have it show your number- or google voice number).
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
I could be completely nuts.... but i swear I saw something like this.
To clarify- this is NOT VOIP calling (like groove IP which uses google voice and your WIFI to make/recieve calls with your GV number)... this was using a foreign GSM SIM but somehow having it show a differeny number.
Thanks in advance.
nudge nudge
Not sure if this will help... but It's worth a mention

I know how to change the number associated with the phone. I just did it with my US Sprint locked S4. I live in Canada - have a Toronto SIM card in, but everytime I called voice mail it would still call the Florida cell number that used to be associated with the old owner of the phone. First you need your MSL number. (Instructions to get your MSL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271618) Then you go to the phone keypad and type ##111111# (The 1's represent the 6 digit MSL number you got) Hit edit - and it will allow you to change the phone number associated with the phone. Like I said - not sure if this would resolve your problem - but I thought I'd give it a try.

[Q] Obtained MSL unlock code from Sprint- still unable to unlock.

Hi guys,
I'm starting a new topic because the only information I could find was from 1 or 2 years ago, before Sprint started giving unlock codes after Feb. 2015.
I recently ported my number to T-Mobile and was unable to unlock my device before my service was severed. Now I am stuck in a rut and cannot get service on EITHER network.
After running around all day, trying to get Sprint stores to help, calling customer service, etc... I was finally able to chat with a Customer Service rep, pay my ETF balance (it had not been posted yet, I asked to pay early). After that, the rep gave me the 6 digit unlock code. I tried punching in *#0011# but I cannot access a menu, it just flashes
MENU NOT EXIST
PRESS BACK KEY
CURRENT COMMAND IS 1111
After that it just displays "No service".
The phone did not acknowledge the T-Mobile SIM at all. I did a network restore code (I forget the dial code) and now it says Invalid SIM Card- so, it knows the card is there.
I cannot get it to a point where it asks for the MSL number.
Can anyone please help? I'm tearing my hair out here.
Thanks,
-Tory
If anyone is going through this same problem, please see this thread and my experience doing this manually, starting with post 1456.
Don't despair! It's a huge pain to go through this if you're only a recreational Android user (like me), but it can be done if you do your homework and follow the steps slowly.
Thanks be to the board, and the people on it.

Using Red Pocket CDMA

Is anyone using Red Pocket CDMA? Will I have to contact Red Pocket for CDMA_LESS to have text messaging working? My 6t arrives today and I am beginning to wonder if it will even work with Red Pocket CDMA. I was going to put my activated sim from my axon7 into the 6twhen I get it and hope it works.
So I got the phone today. Data works but can't make or recevive calls/text. Waiting to see if Red Pocket can do anything.

You may need to program in the APN settings for texting and calls. I am unfamiliar with Red Pocket, but searched the APN settings for them:

Hopefully this helps
Edit: I believe CDMA APN settngs are at the bottom of that link.

Thanks. The sim card needed to be replaced. Something about it locked to 3g or a 3g only card. It's all working now except for receiving sms messages. Redpocket has a ticket open to see if they can find a way to add CDMA_less provisioning.

Does Red Pocket use Verizon towers? If so theres been a few articles about a temp fix:
https://piunikaweb.com/2018/11/06/o...ng-issues-receiving-sms-mms-but-theres-a-fix/
Were you able to get the 6T to work completely with red pocket?
I'm attempting to use redpocket (CDMA/Verizon) as well. Sim card is activated and I get data service, but no voice or text. It won't let me change my APN settings. I guess I'll need to call them and get a new sim card like was mentioned earlier in the thread.
The op has the correct CDMA bands for VZW, but unfortunately they are not active. This is a shame as where I work sometimes, CDMA is only available. Not sure why the f CDMA is not active.
So I had the issue with no calls/texts, but data was working on redpocket (verizon version). I called their customer service and told them my symptoms and they got calls and outgoing texts working almost immediately without a new sim card. Apparently we can't update the APN settings because they're automatically fixed on the 6t. Incoming SMS still doesn't work. I asked about CDMA_Less setting, and got a hard "no". Who knows if that's the truth, but the tech I was talking to said it wasn't possible even after consulting his IT guy.
Good news! I was able to get Red Pocket to add the CDMA_LESS feature and now my phone is running smooth as butter! I had some issues so I will explain how I overcame those!
First I couldn't activate my voicemail. By activating this you are activating your phone pretty much. Every time I went to select 1 for English as my language it said I submitted an invalid choice. So I threw my sim in an unlocked iPhone SE and activated the voicemail. I then threw the sim back in my 6t and was able to do everything except receive texts.
So then I contacted Red Pocket. I wasn't expecting much but I let them know clearly that I could do everything except receive texts. I said I just needed the CDMA_LESS feature added. She said my iPhone SE was showing as active so she updated my IMEI on my account and then added the feature. So after restarting my device all is up and running!

Nice! I gave up 5 months ago trying to get the CDMA_LESS added by Red Pocket & switched to their 'AT&T' sim. Not as good as the VZW service, but at least I got texts. Maybe I'll try & switch back...
Thanks for letting us know its possible. Question When you activated the sim on the verison unlocked iphone. Did you enter the activation info again about sim and IMEI of the iphone. Or did you just pop in the sim and made the setup 1st call.
I just tried with a pixel 3 unlocked and I still cant get past activating the sim when I press 1 for English.
So any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to know the answer. Failed to activate with a Oneplus 6T after 20 chats with CS. They said they activated cdma less but I still can't press 1 to activate. I also tried with my friend's iphone and it didn't work either. I now wonder if I need the cdma less deactivated to succeed activate with an iphone...
