I'm having a small problem with the screen responses on my phone. I just went into the registry and made some changes to enable clear type in Landscape mode....and well...for some reason now....the 'ok' or 'x' tht appears on the top right hand side of the screen in landscape (right handed landscape mode) is unresponsive. It wont acknowledge any taps with the stylus or finger. I tried a soft reset and nothing. So now my phone is stuck in landscape mode...and it wont budge. I've already reversed the registry changes I made and still nothing Any ideas?

Hi,
when i open my wizard to show the keyboard, i noticed that the screen is put into landscape mode just before some switch is activated.
When i fully open the screen since yesterday my right upper part of the screen seems not to work anymore. So i can not use the OK button, the sound volume, etc. My Start button is working.
Also the calendar is automatically started when i open up the keyboard.
When i put back the screen to portait mode just a tiny bit (just after the locking and before the screen goes to portrait mode) the screen starts working like it is supposed to be in landscape mode eg. all buttons are working again?
Hallo!
Does anyone know the fastest and easiest way to change the display between Landscape and Portrait mode ?
Sometimes when I pickup my device from my Pocket, I notice that the display is on "Landscape" mode, but after I hold it in my hand it turns back to normal (Portrait mode), what causes that ?
Thanks in Advance!
I'm not sure what causes your phone to go into landscape when it's in your pocket but the easiest way to get it back (aside from sliding to expose the keyboard and closing it) is to assign one of your buttons to rotate your screen. In your buttons menu there is a "rotate" option. I changed my messaging button (Upper left corner) to rotate my screen when pressed.
If you use the original case that comes with the MDA VARIO sliding it out of the case causes this rotation. This happens when the PDA is active ( for example an incoming call ), the magnet in the case somehow causes the rotation when you pull it out.
Its weird, but many people experience it - I don't use the case at all and never had such problems.
If you can afford to lose a hardware button then you can assign either Rotate Screen Left or Rotate Screen Right to one through Start -> Settings -> Buttons
Thank you all for your helpful replies.
And yeah DREAMBOXER, you are right, I am using the case that came with the device... I never thought that the magnet causes that. OK is it bad and will harm my device with the time or it is just normal and nothing bad will happen if I continue using this case ?
it won't damage it
it's just the keyboard sensor is a magnet as well
Hello,
I've a trouble with my beloved Tytn:
when I tap near the center of the screen, usually the tap doesn't work properly, but it seems that I tap to the bottom left of the screen, and not to the center.
This trouble causes the tapping of the left softkey, and for example when I'm typing an sms, it send...
I've tried to adjust the screen alignment, many times, but it doesn't work.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
Does it happen constantly, or intermittently? I've noticed something similar on my 8525; When using the stylus, all of the presses are registered perfectly, but when using my fingers, the phone seems to have a hard time registering the press. Often times, when I'm using a touch keyboard, it will react as if I had pressed the "X" in the top right corner.
Like I said, it never does that with the stylus, just when I'm using my fingers. I think that the touch screen driver or whatever on this particular device has a hard time registering the presses from a larger-surfaced object like a thumb.
It happens some times, and only with use of fingers (and I have not hotdog-like fingers...).
I don't know how to solve this trouble, but it's difficult to work with that.
Oh, so it sounds like your issue is similar to mine. See, I think that the software that detects the on-screen presses is most likely calibrated for the stylus (hence why you use the stylus to align the screen when you first boot the OS). I think that it has difficulty detecting larger surface contact, which causes it to freak out and detect the press wrong.
This has bugged me for a while, too. It even happens when I'm using my thumb to hit the tabs on HTC Home; I'll hit a tab and the task manager from the upper right corner (I use O2 Plus 2.0) will drop down. Very annoying.
Anynody else have any ideas?
typing seems to messed up lately buttons get get pressed makes ms feel like itisn't working correctly
anyone get the same issue ?
i have the same issue sometimes. it happens if the phone is very cold, if its connected to pc or mains charger or if the battery is 15% or below. i uninstalled the sensitivity tweak which helped a bit

Click to collapse
It might be worth realigning the screen. Go to Settings/Menu/All Settings then select the System icon, and then 'Screen/Align Screen'
You will get the old Windows Mobile 'crosshair' alignment screen which was originally designed for stylus input, but using the normal part of your finger that you'd use for typing, just press over the crosshairs. This may or may not help!
I'm finding that typing is OK, provided I have "aligned" the screen.
However when switching from portrait to landscape alignment goes out of whack. Ok when reverted back to portrait. Also following a soft reset, or switching phone off, a re-alignment of screen is required.
Does the device store the alignment info, or is it reset after each reboot?
Also does device store an alignment profile for both portrait and landscape?
Anyone else notice this, and is there a fix?
Hi,
Ever since the latest update (today, as i own the phone since today) the finger input is off. The left upper corner is 1:1. But the more you go to the right lower corner, the input that is registered, is off.
It is like there is some kind of acceleration going on. Because of this, typing, pressing icons and even swiping isn't possible in a normal manner. Fot instance, when i press the R on the keyboard, it is registering the V or C.
Again, with the S-pen everything is working properly.
I've tried changing the screen density and the resolution (after rooting), but without succes.
I've tried reflashing with ODIN (hard reset as well), but without succes.
Is there a way to re-allign the input, or something??
Any help is appriciated!!
