Any news on the 8GB MicroSDHC?

2 weeks ago, Sandisk announced that it was shipping an 8GB MicroSDHC card. Since then, I haven't heard anything. Many retailers show the card, but the stock indicators show pre-sale or out-of-stock. Does anyone have any information on U.S. availability?

Elite Electronics shows them coming in next Monday the 26th. They're already available in the UK.

and what about the samsung ones? (class 6)

It's showing on Expansys.com and Expansys.ca

Despite their web site showing these as in stock no-one has received anything from this shop yet and a number of orders have been cancelled by email.

I ordered one from Elite Electronix about a month ago and last week got this response when I asked for a status update:
"These units should arrive, and ship on November 26th. This is the revised ship date we have received. Thank you."

I also placed an order with Elite in mid-October and have been awaiting its arrival. Sounds like it may be delayed even more if the UK stocks haven't arrived. Bummer.

Here in Sweden/Halmstad one store has got them today

I've been following 3 other UK stores with similar prices, all of them hint at very close delivery dates:
MemoryBits - Expected "end of Nov"
Insight - Expected "Tomorrow", date updates everyday
MobiMemory - "expected 5-12 days" has been like this for at least 5 days.

A shop in Germany just let me know they'd ship it mid Dec.

does anyone know what speed Class these cards are?

SanDisk 8GB is supposed to be class 4.

Bought mine @ Circuit City's Verizon Kiosk
Verizon has them for $129.99. Works fine in my Cingular 8525 WM6.

Funny, Can't find them in stock on-line anywhere, but I also dropped into a Verizon kiosk at Circuit City and snapped one up as well. Thanks for the tip! It does show C4 on the card.

Verizon does have them online for $129.99 with free shipping. Add tax and you're looking upwards of $140.

In Holland you can buy them in various places for about 90 euro's. I have one myself and they work great.

I picked one up today at my local Verizon store, and have cancelled my order with Elite Electronix (placed 45 days ago).

New 10 inch 8 Gig Version

I bought a 10 " inch screen 8 gigabyte version of the A500 Iconia from Best Buy. Seems to be ether a new model or one only made for Best Buy. I haven't gotten it in yet through the mail. I wonder if it will have the same specs as the 16GB model(aside from the memory of course)....and the same quality.

They sell the 8gb version at Costco too. Once the sold out of the 32gb they pulled that in.

As of last week, the 8Gb was 350 at Costco here in the Seattle area. Came with a sort of weak free case.

Congrats on the purchase. I picked one up from Best Buy as well. Now if they'd get around to shipping it, I'd be even happier.
The two things that have been noticed on this one is the lack of mention of GPS anywhere (though many of us are hopeful that it has GPS) and that power indicates 110 whereas all other models indicate 110/220.
Haven't seen anything else yet so now we're all waiting for our units to arrive to begin the fun.

GPS is not mentioned in any of the versions of A500 tabs.

pretty sure they all have GPS. plenty of threads exist with a500 users having wifi only models and using GPS. just make sure to apply all the GPS tweaks
a stock a500 isnt quite as hot as a tweaked out a500. earl reviews of the stock item at the original retail price were just OKAY at best. but if you tweak the little it turns into quite the little tablet.

say what? i have a wifi only version(a500) and it has gps. no tweaks needed. i doubt these 8gb versions have gps. official acer site and best buy have no mention of gps at all.
can anyone that actually has one in hand check? what a total bummer if it didnt.

this is the same a500 model as any of the other a500 models, with only 8gb. every a500 has built-in gps, just like every samsung galaxy tab 10.1 has gps. you dont need to have the 3G (a501) model to have gps.
the acer website doesnt list ANY of the 8/16/32 or 501 models as having GPS at all, so you can't go by that.

The 8gb one I bought at Costco has gps. I'm going to return it though because I decided to get a 32gb one from Tigerdirect for $400. 8gb just wasn't getting it done with Honeycomb's inability to move apps and data to the sdcard like Gingerbread. I was using almost all of the internal memory and I only had 8 of my games installed. Those Gameloft games need a lot of memory.

I got the 32GB one from costco for a similar price, $350 + tax. But if you can get bestbuy's price at $220, it might worth it.

The $229 8gb Acer A500 at Best Buy was a Cyber Monday deal that actually sold out by early Sunday morning. I think I saw "normal" pricing referred to as $380. I was lucky enough to snag one of the Cyber Monday tablets, but even though they say 0-1 day to ship, it is still "in process" and has not shipped yet.

I'm going to assume that means business days. It should be ready to ship today but who knows what the details are. Best Buy may not have them and are awaiting shipment from Acer which would explain why they weren't available immediately for store pickup (which was set at 5-7 days).
Hoping for the best as I'd like to get my hands on this tablet and start playing with it.

Has anyone emailed them asking about estimated shipping date? I need to have this by 10th Dec. Has anyone bought from Best Buy before? How much time does the shipment take to arrive at CA after dispatch?

From what I've read, it does NOT have a GPS in it. I'll have to find my sources, but if you google the SKU, it's a special, Best-Buy only device (from what I could find).

I ordered Noon-ish on Sunday, and it said "processing, 0-1 days..blah blah" until about noon EST today (tuesday).
Yes, it gave me a tracking number, and the original order (with 2-day shipping) said EXPECTED DELIVERY: Nov 30-Dec 1. UPS shows it as on time, Nov 30 by the end of the day.
EDIT--it does say it shipped on the 28th, even though I didn't get an email or tracking number until mid-day the 29th.

Lucky basterd! I ordered mine on Sunday at around 2:30am. Yeah that early, I don't know why I was still up that late lol. Mine still says order is being fulfilled or something like that so I the order hasn't been processed but it does let me cancel it anymore. The estimated dates I have are earliest Dec. 1 and latest Dec. 8
Yeah the folks over at slickdeals who bought the tab are all arguing on if it has GPS or not and if it has a flash mem or a micro hard drive. HAHA! I can understand the GPS debate, but the other one is just plain stupid.

EDIT: And none of the A500 tabs on acer's official website list anything about GPS, but they obviously do so I would assume that this one does too.

Update for guys looking to buy from Taiwan. Don't buy from 23port. He doesn't have the phones available, he takes your money and then waits for Asus to get them in stock. This is the email response I got from him about my purchase
"We have received your payment on Mar. 28, and we will check the available time with Taiwan ASUS and update you soon, and we will provide tracking number after shipment. Please kindly note. Have a nice day."
I contacted eBay after that and they are taking action against his listing since in their words "he is luring people in to buying an item he doesn't have, without stating it's a preorder and that he doesn't actually have the item".
Just wanted to give a heads up since I'm now at the mercy of either getting a refund from the seller or waiting until the 7th for buyer protection to kick in.
You might want to ask sellers if they actually have the item in stock, it's not guaranteed that they will answer truthfully, but these guys are taking people's money and sitting on it until Asus Taiwan has stock available. Who knows how long that could be in all honesty.

Ordered it Friday morning my time, asked him today about the status and that's when he said he had to contact Asus about the availability and would let me know. None of the ads I've seen by him have said anything about preorder. Maybe when you ordered he had supply but now he doesn't. If he had supply he would have shipped my phone already and wouldn't have said he needs to contact Asus and that he'll update me.

I didn't think you were but some people might. I was hoping I'd have it within two days like every one else but that's not the case I guess. I can't wait weeks to get a phone unfortunately. I'm thinking that some of the other sellers don't have supply either, that's why they're putting the delivery date so far out. They're hoping people will buy expecting delivery in mid April and that gives them enough time to wait for more stock from Asus.

Today, they are dropping it in France. My delivery date was April 1-3. Was surprised at how quickly it got here.

There are some sellers with the delivery date as Apr. 10th-Apr. 21st. Which gives plenty of time for them to wait on new stock while you're waiting for the end of April to get it.

That really sucks. I will tell u this: phone is solid. Only disappointment is the battery cover. Feels like cheap plastic simulating a metal brush finish. Looks like it may break when prying apart to insert sim card and SD. Really glad I got a case for it.

Yeah I've been super stoked to get it since I saw it, sold my OPO and a Note 3, bought my son a Moto G 2014 and myself the ZF2, but now I have to use my son's phone since the ZF2 isn't coming.

I have another warning: Don't buy from OE USA (advertising on Amazon) either. They're selling an entry level ZE500CL as ZE551ML as they specified the phone. Luckily Amazon has good customer protection but you may face a lot of troubles buying totally false phone.

I guess I learned my lesson well. I'm returning cheap entry level phone which was sold on Amazon as a ZE551ML. At least partially you can blame all mess on Asus, which would never provided clear specs of variety of models around.
Now I'm quite positive that currently you can't buy any other ZE551ML than Taiwanese. And right now Asus has in production European (ww) model which will be on the market in France and Italy at the end of this month (on the web as well). And maybe Chinese model will be selling at the same time too.
Later, probably at the end of May after announcement in the event in New York the US model is coming to the market. And that's pretty all.

Black and white versions of (ZE551ML )are back in stock on ASUS French website. Already have a red one ordered from Darty but wont be sent out until the 10th

On Asus Fr website is nothing on stocs as delivery date is set to 06.05. latest and any shopping is marked as preorder.

Does anyone know of any reliable site where 4G/32GB or 4G/64GB is available in stock? Asus France will ship by 06th May.

Darty has a preorder with shipping date set at 10-4, not sure how reliable they are as i never bough off them before. Reorderd the red one last night

In the process of canceling the darty order although I have to ring them to cancel it. Hope they have some English speaking reps as my French begins and end with Bonjour. UK sim free waiting room + up to date shipment details

Hi all.
Well for one, I'm a member to the UK sim free waiting room.
I have a white 128gb on back order with EE. Got this through the company that handles my businesses communications needs. They have advised between 1-3 weeks wait. I've no issues with the wait. Looking forward to the phones arrival.
If we could use this thread to highlight any UK sim free deals and delivery time I think that would help us guys over here.

OK still no UK sim free deals that I can find. I know CPW are offering the S6 32gb and 64gb as handset only.. but I'm really trying my best to hold out for the edge.
Just spoke with the company that is attempting to get me my phone. It seems the 128gb sim free release are weeks away still, Mid June is an estimate. 64gb are becoming incredibly hard to source.. It sure looks like Samsung have a winner on their hands. Great news for them.. not so good for us customers that want sim free deals.

Just got mine today from CeX, aka www.webuy.com . I got it for less than RRP too! They might still have a few in stock, I got a black 64GB version. It was in box and everything is in place, only thing was added by CeX was a barcode on the inside of the box for their internal tracking I guess.

Just placed the order for mine also. Grabbed a grade A unlocked black 64gb .. I would be interested to see where this stock is coming from.. hope it's not the scratchgate stock... lol
Oh well.. i will probably move to a different handset in a few months anyway..

No problem. I just looked by chance, didn't think they'd have had any but I guess someone bought tons up and sold them off to them or something. I got a Grade A 02 Black 64GB since that was all they had in black when I ordered. Annoyingly it's locked to 02, I'm gonna have to pay to unlock it since I want to be on three.

Well I took the plunge into the 3T after owning a Z3+ for two years. Was thinking of the normal 3 but my inner geek wanted the latest. Who here is also on the bandwagon? And all this development nonsense about not supporting is just stupid in my opinion, many people who never got the OP3 and have upgraded from much older devices including developers from other places will at some point.

I decided to go for the 3T and ordered this morning. Have been using the S6 Edge plus but feel it is limited because there aren't any real roms for it. Only roms are all dated not a big deal for me to use so waiting to get my new 3T next week.

Going to be a big upgrade from my Z3+ in which I was disappointed from day one but thought updates would sort battery and heat.

Also ordered last night, waiting for it to ship like it's Christmas morning. Still using my LG V10, but I find the phone too large and heavy. I know the OP3T is similar sized, but still a bit smaller and much lighter. Aside from no SD card support, I'm hoping I can last 2-3 years on it if not more.

I ordered one last night at 1203pdt and got the ship notice about 30 mins ago. So hopefully will be herd this week if not early next week

I don't think most people get 128GB just because they need the space, but because it doesn't have sd slot, so if 64GB isn't enough later on then you are screw.

If I hit that point, a nice format will clean things up :laugh:

I ordered mine! Should be getting it next Tuesday. I have the G5 from T-Mobile now and it just never got any development. And the camera loses all functionality when you start using the ROMs that are finally coming out for it.
I was thinking a pixel xl 128 but it's never in stock and too expensive. I'm just hoping they release a Android N beta in a week or two...But not a big deal if they don't....and release the camera libs so devs can make sure the stock camera works like it's suppose to.
I'm excited. I'm guessing it will only take a couple of months..maybe just weeks for the dev community to start coming with gas....unlike my G5 that took a billion years.

I put an order for the 128, my only real regret is the expected date says November 29. I think they sold out because if you look on the order page it says ships in 4 weeks. But now I'm worried if my order order changes from Nov 29 to Dec 29.
Selling my Galaxy S7 Edge on Swappa on the 21st paid for $453 of the $479 price tag. So I see it as just $25 for the upgrade. I call it an upgrade because I wasn't happy with the speed of the Exynos S7 I had, and that slippery glass back was something you'd always have to worry about and if you touch it even after washing your hands it just gets ugly.

Mine is shipped and got the shipping number.

I ordered at 12:02am and received a shipment notification at 7:16pm. Got to love DHL Express. I am in California.

I was going to, but decided against it. More expensive than OP and you cant buy sim free. I'll wait and order on Monday. Just trying to work out if it is worth the extra £30 for the 128gb. I never use it, so I might just go for the 64gb.

Thats interesting, I never thought about going into a store. The website was only showing pay for device in full and then adding a pay as you go sim on top. It is still more expensive that OP from what I have read, if it was the same price I would have done the pre-order.

£18 more expensive but if something happened to the mobile later down the line at least i could go instore .
