Hello everyone,
This may sound a little gay but I am worried about how easy it is to scratch the screen? As long as I know now, it is almost possible to scratch the X1's screen with finger nails...
Could anyone compare X1 to HTC T-Pro / Diamond / HD in terms of screen scratchability? Say, if you accidentionally put your device (without any screen protector) in the same pocket with your home keys and walk around for one day. What would be the end-results-difference between X1 and T-Pro/Diamond?
Another question - when you are using the screen protector for X1, does it cover *all* the screen area? or does it leave some offset uncovered (0.2-0.5 mm)? I remember good old days of having a Dell Axim x51v and the original screen protector always left about 0.5mm offset between the screen edge and the protector itself. Looked freaking irritating...
10x..
eeehm the screen seems to be harder, than the one of diamond, or touch pro (diamond and touch pro have this silver plastic, shiny **** on the screen, so they look fancier)
but even the xperia's screen won't survive putting it togehter with your keys for a day
so either get a screen protector, or just do not put it to your keys
Cheers! Any more opinions?
I scratched the screen on and case on my Diamond and my Touch Pro really easily and I am very careful with my phones. As yet have not done it on my Xperia but it is early days. There is no doubt the former were very easy to scratch.

Hi guys!
I have a little area in my Jam's screen where there is some scratches...
I think they are caused by the normal but frequently use of the pen in that area.
How can I polish the area or all the Jam's screen?
Try going to a watch shop and steal a tube of watch face cleaner. Good as new.
Also you could try the ipod face cleaning kits, but they may be abrasive.
You should use a screen protector though!

on ebay you can get ipod screen scratch removal kits..not sure whether it is suited to PDA screens though but it works well for Nokia phones...but those screens are hard screens unlike the Magician's which is touch responsive and using this scratch removal might affect screen alignment...
I used some TFT screen wipes (made for cleaning LCD monitors).
It leaves some residue but once that's wiped off, it's good.
Actually, can just put a good quality screen protector on it...you won't notice the scratches....and you will prevent any new ones
Anyone tried that yet? Are there any parts that need to be trimmed, specially the portion that covers the bottom pad.

Would love to know the answer to this also, because I'm upgrading to a Pro next week and I have 2 spare protectors from my diamond
I don't know the answer, but I can tell you that the HTC branded Touch Pro comes with a screen protector in the box. I'm not sure if the network branded variants will though.
I would really recommend using screen protector customized for Raphael - it's a bit different (in shape and size) compared to Diamond.
i have the brando screen protector for the diamond on my touch pro, no need for trrimming the way its done though instead of having a cirular cut for where the front cam is, they just shape it so it cuts off that part (in other words no protector over the camera. but otherwise it fits properly. got it for free when my original screen protector peeled off in my pocket and got dust underneath.
You donĀ“t have to adapt anything to use one for the diamond. I have done it with the protector from DuraSex and it fits in both parts

I am using my Diamond protectors on my Touch pro. I have no problems with it. It covers the camera but it also did that on the Diamond.
Zagg Invisible Shield
I'm currently using the Zagg Inc. Invisible Shield screen protector for the Touch Diamond on my Touch Pro...fits perfectly!!!
I used a Diamond screen protector on Raphael, there is no problem with main screen, except i have to use a nailcutter to make curve its corners to fit Raphael screen. But on the bottom pad, big trouble, the protector is smaller and it seems not adhesive, after 1 week it peeled off and got dust!
Hi!
How is the screen protector that comes with the product working?
Websites like invisibleSHIELD.com sell full body shielding. Any idea when this will be made for the new Touch HD?
It's pretty cr4p [very awkward and fiddly - the fit is to the last nano-metre, so, try as I might I could not get mine to be entirely 'bubble free' at the bottom of one edge]- I'm waiting for a 'Martin Fields' one to be released - then I'll get one of those and a replacement for my Diamond whilst I'm at it
I threw mine in the bin, it really hinders you sliding your fingers/thumb ..
love my invisible for diamond, it does make screen and other parts kinda rubber which makes using finger little harder, but it does get better in about month.
if you apply it carefully there wont be bubbles and if there are small spots with air or something most will leave in few days.
no scratches on my diamond and love it!
Also it's better to do it in a clean atomsphere.
I apply screen protectors in the bathroom after a shower and opening the window as I read somewhere a few years back that the steam reduces the number of dust particles in the air - creating bubbles..

The screen protector which came with the HD is very good. i see no need to switch to another one. Only if you dont want an ultry clear model, as it reflects the light more (but looks nicer on the other hand)
the screen protector fits abolutely perfect, and feels very good. no bubbles or anything. after installing it, the HD felt like the galss display of the Iphone
ps: yeah if you have no area at home wihout dust go in your baathroom and turn on hot water. the steam/water in the air binds with the dust particels and coms down. but wait until it goes away, otherwise the steam will also settle down on your device or screenprotector
Anyone know where to buy one? I'd like one similiar to the one that came with it that covers up the entire screen area with a cut out for the speaker... and curved corners...
I bent a corner on the one that came with it and have some dust/etc that I can't seem to get rid of...
Martin Fields makes excellent screen protectors, though the one that came with it is pretty good quality. If yours is messed up though then I'd check them out. I had one on my Tilt for about a year and it still looks great.
Just look up touch pro on their site.
I'll second Martin Fields, or Boxwave. I had the boxwave on my 8525 for 1 year, then moved it to my 8925 for a year. It barely shows any Solitare scratches when turned off and viewing at an angle, you can't see the scratches at all when turned on! This was on the AntiGlare...
Martin fields does NOT have one for fuze but does for HTC Touch Pro, but interestingly the diagram shows no front-camera hole which should be great for fuze too. Has anyone used it for the fuze? does it come in 2 pieces and how good is it?
here is a ebay link to a great screen protector for the Fuze...I bought a 3 pack back in January and still have the 1st one on. Great quality....here is link:
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Fabu-Stores_?_sid=17218646&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14&_pgn=3
Martin Field's Touch Pro screen protector is incredibly clear. It doesn't have a cut out hole for the front camera, which fits perfectly on my Fuze. They have also included a protector for the hard keys under the touch screen. As of right now, I can say that I am very satisfied. I would definitely recommend Martin Field.
I know it's a bit pricier, but I am a fan of the Invisible Shield: http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-fuze-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php.
Basically the last protector you will need, plus you can get one to be just over the screen, or a full cover for the full phone. They are custom made for the actual phone or device you have, and will protect it well, fit the device, and protect it. Also rarely get dirt or dust in it.

I love my Invisible shield on every part of my phone except for the screen. In my opinion the material of the shield is to sticky for the screen, and causes some problems with using the stylus and sometimes your finger doesn't slide very well across it.
Just my opinion!
Thanks
JFlitt
i will like to see some pictures of the phones with martin fields and boxwave screen protectors please
I'd like to know about the boxwave and the martin fields regarding how well your finger can slide. The invisible shield is horrible for this...Yes its indestructable but not finger friendly.
Screen protectors
I'm another fan of the Invisible Shield by Zagg. It resists cat claws on the screen (w/o a scratch), doesn't need replacing ever, and I haven't had any issues with the stylus or fingers through the invisible shield. I guess it just depends on your fingers!
Yeh im personally not a big fan of the invisible shield. Have used it on a iPhone as well as a HTC Touch Diamond and have found that it works well on a capacitive screen but when it came to the HTC Touch Diamond which uses a resistive touch screen, it didn't work well at all.
The invisible shield has a squishy like texture which makes it a little difficult when in use with a stylus. I've upgrade to a HTC Touch Pro and decided to go back to a normal screen protector. I purchased the Exilim SPOC Screen Protector from eBay and have never been happier. Like the invisible shield, it doesnt scratch... quick and easy to apply without having to use any liquids and drying time. Just my preference...
I've taken it off, everything's much nicer now, colors pop out much more than they did. The question is - I've heard that with the D1, even the stylus would inflict scratches... is HD any different?
from what has been commented here on this forum a couple of months ago is that the blackstone would scratch also, with as little as stylus usage.. dont know if anyone put it to the test, but thats what has been said atleast.
yes iv scratched mine with the stylus
i would recomend using a screen protector
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the screen protector you took off was well used? Every time I replace my screen protector I notice a huge difference but there isn't a big difference between the raw screen and the "new" screen protector
Yeah indeed. Going to put another one tommorow, after just 3 days without a screen protector I've started noticing very tiny and thin scratches on the surface, from just using the stylus.
Cytokine,
Get a good quality screen protector. The ones on eBay being sold for $1.00-$7-8.00 are not that good at all.
The best screen protectors are of the following brands:
1. Boxwave - www.boxwave.com
2. Javoedge - www.javoedge.com
3. a few more that i cant recollect.
I use the first 2 companies, and they have been the best so far, no problems at all! very thin and very clear.
I have had numerous shields on and one decided to bare back it. I never use anything other then my finger on my screen so no scratches on screen at all. On my other HD stylus did scratch screen. No nail just finger and I still have perfect screen.
Threads already exist regarding this issue and overwhelmiong response was that screen portection was required unless you want scratches
