Has anyone heard about when or in which markets this will be available? I kind of want it.
Through AT&T in the US sometime in 2012. I kind of get the sense it will be first half of 2012 from what I have read but that's total conjecture. Supposedly with LTE and NFC.
Might take a look at this:

How about a International version as I'm in the UK and I think the US one is using LTE?

Doubt there will be an international version with NFC.
Just wondering if anyone has the scoop on a possible US release for the wifi version?

Not too sure about that, but the Verizon LTE version has been confirmed... though I'd steer clear of that really...
The general idea seems to be that with the LTE version coming out in a few weeks, it will be a while.
Anybody in Canada have the Xperia Z yet?
If you have the 6603 model (LTE capable) can you post how good the connection is?
Apparently 6603 will have problems with LTE and 3G networks here, hence why the Z is not coming to Canada.

I do hope it works well on only band 7 on fido's network..as advertised.
Will let you know once I get it, hopefully in 2 weeks or so..

Thanks.
I'm on Rogers currently, but will be switching to Telus next month.
Hopefully they work well too.
I am considering the 6602 model if that works flawlessly here as I do not care about LTE that much, though would prefer 6603 if it actually works well.
Hspa+ should work fine on Telus on 850 MHz but lte not.
Related to 02 version, imo, it's not worthwhile, I'd wait for the rumored 6606 supporting aws.

any rumored dates for the 6606?
I don't want to wait forever.... might as well get the HTC One or Galaxy S4 instead if we have to wait until April or longer.....
I just ordered the 6603 from Handtec UK.
Once it arrives I will also post results on LTE and 3G performance.

Why would you buy the 6603?
I am pretty sure won't work in Telus lte network.
I am quite at peace with the lack of Canadian lte bands but I am ok with fido myself..
As rumors go, the 6606 will be here in march.

Couldn't find the 6602 anywhere to purchase and not enough info on the 6606.
I'll be furious if Sony actually release the 6606 next month.
They are really doing a poor job handling the information and distribution of this phone.
Is the 6606 even official?

It's on the list of PS certified devices in the US along all other Z models. And some insider info confirmed it's coming to the US (most likely ATT) and thus Rogers will have it too, as usual.

Ok. I did hear about the 6066 as being PS certified, but never heard anything official. Then what will happen to the ZL, which is coming to a good handful of our carriers?
I'm hoping the aws version comes to canada..or if wind mobile gets it

Actually what do you want to know?
Yes it may be in your country. Both are from different stable, will you buy one based on Network?
Yeah, I was all but ready to push buy until I caught that it was C6902 -- why wouldn't they offer C6906? -- Is that Rogers/Canada only or something?

Probably going to offer it a while later....
This was depressing this morning. I have been waiting for the C6906 too, but now my fear is that it will be a T-mobile exclusive like the Z was. Or, maybe it's just delayed, but hopefully we can find a way to order from Canada.
I found the C6903 below the $649 asking price from the Sony store, so it's not the end of the world. Glad to see these aren't in the $700's this time around.

Hmm... I would hate to have a Sony Z1 with a T-Mobile (or any carrier logo) on there. Is there a way to remove it? Is it attached the protector?

The C6903 runs on T-Mobile's LTE. The C6906 is for AT&T LTE.
I bought c6902 I thought its lte version now while rooting I realized it's hspa+ version very sad

I bought the C6903 through eBay but not getting good LTE signal with T-Mobile whereas the G2 got great signal in the same areas

sony reported 4-5 months ago that it would release the lollipop update to its xperia Z devices and they kept us waiting till now, 2 weeks ago it was reported that sony launched its update and it would reach each country 'slowly', the launching day was 16 march and till this day i havent received MOD [email protected] rule 2! Im very dissapointed at Sony for their SLOW updates while the galaxy s5 received android lollipop 2 MONTHS AGO! Sony told us they would release it at q1 in 2015 but did they really have to delay it till the last freaking day!? Bunch of MOD [email protected] rule 2! if u ask me. Im satisfied with my device but i expect the updates early so next time i wont buy a sony device! Any of you MOD [email protected] rule 2! received this update already?
I'm from Belgium btw, the country where all updates come as last: seriously.

MOD EDIT @gregbradley Please read the XDA rules here especially the bit in Rule 2.1 about use of profanity
Thanks
Only the baltic and nordic regions received it. It has started to rollout to other regions today. For D5803 that is. No news for D5833 yet.

Does the Spanish ROM display 4G or LTE?
I've got used to the LTE icon on my Europe Kitkat rom but not sure which country it came from unfortunately.
Sorry, can't tell, my service provider doesn't have 4G yet.
Czech republic, only Info-eye update, no Lollipop yet.

Unbranded updates or with a mobile carrier?
In my case, unbranded.
I spoke to Sony Mobile UK "support" today on their horrible webchat service.
As usual, I typed my question in on the first screen when asked.. and they completely ignored it and asked me again by the time I got to the main chat session. Plus their responses were slow, unhelpful and they didn't know anything.
I love my phone - but I loathe the lack of support at the customer level.

OK, thanks.
I just checked Xperifirm and lollipop had been released in quite a few countries for unbranded devices now.
Central Europe 1 seems to be the KitKat ROM I'm using, no lollipop on the Sony server for that one just yet.

Same, in Eastern US.
I just checked, and have it available. I'm in the USA, on AT&T, using a D5803 I imported from the UK.
Pumped to get a prerooted one to flash soon.

Silly question: will I get the OTA update if I downgraded my firmware before in order to root my phone?

Also in the USA on AT&T, using a D5803 purchased from the Sony (USA) website directly.

Unbranded.
There are no branded firmwares in Russia.
Upgraded to 5.0.2 via Pc Companion in France with Orange cell network
Download in progress via pc compagnion , France via free mobile network
Has the German Version been released yet?
I own a 5803 and won't receive the update via OTA or the Sony Bridge for mac. Always tells me I am up to date
