Hello!
I was wondering if there is any application to record on phone shake (or rotate or any gesture) and also activate camera quickly in the same way.
Thx
It could be quite useful
Yeah.... I hope to get an answer anyway
except camera takes like half an hour to load!

is there an app which allows the camera shutter to take rapid shots? this is almost related to the "camera timer" topic posted recently. that app has a function to dictate the number of loops within a certain number of seconds delay.
in this case would it be possible to have an app that allows the camera to take successive shots? say; when you press the camera button...unless you release it the camera would continuously take pictures.
just curious...food for thought.
cheers
very few have access to the camara api
so there is yet to come many applications which work with it
You don't need the camera api for this. I'm a bit busy at the moment, but I can convert my timer app to do this. I might get it done tomorrow if I have 5 mins spare.
Copy this file into your \Windows\Start Menu\(where you like) folder. Then goto Settings->Personal->BUttons and select "Rapid Shot" for Button 3 (Camera).
Now when you hold down the Camera button it will keep taking pictures until you release it (upto 100)
It's a bit of a hack for now but if I get a chance I'll tidy it up and put it into the camera timer app.
Cheers
Jamie
hey it works! cool!
regarding "It's a bit of a hack for now but if I get a chance I'll tidy it up and put it into the camera timer app."; you may need to change the name of your program to accomodate the enhancements for the camera
thanks! cheers then
Wow. This is pretty cool.
I have a couple of comments. I don't want this sound like I am hassling you for updates to the proggy, its more of a "I have noticed the following behaviour" and if you find you wanna get around to looking at it good for you.
1 - The program relies on you being in still camera mode for it to work. If you are in video or that crappy other template mode, it just records or takes the two shots.
2 - Any chance of speeding it up?
3 - If after you have released the camera button and you are shown the preview screen if you press the camera icon the program starts to take happy snaps.
The way I think it would be cool and again, please take this as postive feedback, is if you can press the camera button to launch the camera app and then if you subsequently press and hold the camera button again, the burt mode is activates for the still shots, regardless of what capture mode you were in previously. I.e. pressing and holding will change from video to camera mode and start the burft captures.
Again, great work!! I really like the option to have burst mode. I could never press buttons that fast
wowww it is really amazing app!
thanks!
little note: when I start it manually and clik on "Go" only, it never stops taking pictures. Bug??
Maybe everyone knows it but I just discovered this yesterday! LOL
We already knew that you could press the "2-stage" camera button to get a focus then take the snap shot...but....this sometimes causes the picture to come out blurry because, as has happened to me on many many occassions, I accidentally move the camera. Hate that!
Well, today I found out that I could focus with the camera button then take the snapshot/picture with the action joystick. DUH! Man this makes it much easier to take clear pictures. Hope this tip helps others!
Long live the Athena Project!

Cool tip!!
you know what...? I didn't know that... THANKS!
je je what a dummies...
Real man don't use this button, they allways use the camera button!
Thanks, really a simple and god tip!
The way I prevent blurry picture due to shaking hand, is to use the timer. In that way, your hand does not move at all, and you will have the best chance of taking a sharp looking picture

I never knew that (and I thought I'd pressed all the buttons all the time!) Cheers
Cool finding.
I ever found that the force needed to press the camera button to the second position was too much and making almost imposible to keep the camera steady in short distance pictures.
The solution I used to use was the mentioned timed shot, but I found quite anoying waiting for two seconds to the camera to shot.
I was running some tests and I find out quite easy to focus with the camera button and shot with the joystick. But I find out too that pressing the joystick makes the autofocus and shoting in a row. I mean you don't need to press the camera button.
Off course there is a exception. If you need to move the frame between the moment that you autofocus and the shot. This is useful when you want to focus something that is not exactly in the middle of the frame. For example. You have a girl and a landscape behind her. Off course you want to focus the girl but you want the girl, let say, in the right og the picture (of the frame). So you 1) Point the camera to the girl setting her in the middle of the frame then 2) press smoothly the camera button and the focus will be on the girl then 3) while keep pressing the camera button move the frame to set the girl in the right of the frame and 4) either press deeper the camera button (risking the blur picture) or press joystick (as propoussed here) to take the shot. The girl will be focused and in the right.
But... if in the same case you want the girl just in the middle of the frame you can just press the joystick and quickly will focus and shot the camera. You don't need to use both buttons. So the risk of getting blur in the picture is less than using both buttons or (off course) using the two fases camera button only.

mine has "half-press" option (x7501, Dual 3.0 ROM)
Open the camera app.
Tap the wrench icon in the lower left corner.
Tap the wrench icon on the far right of the lineup of icons along the bottom (advanced)
"shoot option" can be set to full press or half press.
It still autofocuses pretty well as long as your pointing the camera right at the subject. If you need to sepreate the focus and shooting functions (like we're doing art shots with this thing?) that's would be your only reason, IMHO, to use the full press.
At least that's how mine works. I couldn't find it in the User manual. Hope it helps.
Awesome feedback people.
I also found that if your experience delays with your camera and keep missing that perfect shot....that setting the camera to the Burst or Sport mode helps. I've had better luck with the Burst mode myself.
FYI, for Athena Project 4.0, we might have an updated camera. ...we'll see how it all goes during testing. Wouldn't want to put something nasty in the ROM just because it's newer.
i was thinking, say i see something interesting, by the time i start camera etc etc it will be gone..
is there or can someone do a quick snap program?
a click will
go to camera
focus and snap
based on pre determined settings
that will be good
Not that I've found - the camera app is what it is, and you can't get past the cutesy animated GUI.
With HD Tweak you can assign "camera" to one of the TF3D home screen soft buttons, which will launch direct into the "take picture" screen, saving you a flip and a press, but you still have to hit the shutter button.
hope someone does it
Try MortScripts. I have no personal experience though..
how can mortscript help for this?
I thought may be possible to reduce clicks required by using automation. May be wrong though
Any way camera start up time is still long even with the Rhodium ported camera app on cooked ROMs (slightly better though).
Use Dutty's rom, it has the Diamond 2 camera app in it.
The screen doesn not lag, and it is very fast!
am hoping for a see it snap it kind of program... is there no way to interface with the cam directly? any developers here pls
hmm no one knows?
As seen on Sony Ericsson W380 Gesture control
"Another novel feature of the W380 is its gesture control. Switch this feature on and you will be able to silence incoming calls or snooze alarm clocks by simply passing the palm of your hand above the sensor"
Well maybe this is a long shot but anyone has any idea if a program like that exists on WinMo?
Well as far as I see Sony made this Feature with help of a proximity-sensor and the only Phone/PDA I know which has one is the TouchPro 2
But there are a lot of Apps which let you silence Calls (built-in in most htc devices) and let you snooze alarm clocks by shaking or turning the Phones, also they let you unlock your Device and soooo much more funny things =)
give it a shot

yeah, but without touching the device? i guess if there is an app that enables camera when phone rings this thing can be done
Well you're free to try but i don't think you're chances of success are high
good luck

you can execute camera app with mortscript on the incoming call i think.
i think the i900 has proximity sensor......
sorry it doesnt.......
i8000 Omnia2 has it!
yup thats right..........
does it have it as a device you mean or does it work as an application?
...
think best/easiest way on HD wouldbe light sensor on top.
So on incoming call it should check if there is a short light-interruption.
Prob:
just works if phone shows face up on your desk
And won't work if room is dark (perhaps could work other way round - if it's too dark - check for short light notice, reflected by your hand from display)
otherwise is would be to hard and battery intensive cause you have to check both cameras (back and front) for changes.
I know silencing without touching it sound interesting but its a bit too playful for me.
Cause pressing vol down button is fastes way to silence.
Another way already included in some progs is turning phone face down to silence - think it's as stylish as waving to your phone.

FTouchSL has some screen based user definable gesture controls and is an extremely useful app, but no proximity controls.

so g-sensor can be used also. i think it's used by g-alarm on snooze, anyone seen it for silence also?
Hi All,
Any can help me on this or recommend me which Camera app is compatible with touch Cruise that no need to use H/W Button to snap photo?
Currently, my phone Center round H/W button is no longer sensitive or not function well, each time want to snap photo, need to press very hard and long time and tried few times only it able to snap photo. Right now, I am looking for other Camera S/W which can replace the current 1 and that S/W just press OnScreen Button to snap photo. Anyone can help me?
Thanks.
You could try Camera_6_01_31727_00, it works on Polaris, there's an on-screen button to take shots, so hw button is not needed anymore; you just loose hardware autofocus ability (digital one works I guess), but is required only to take macro shots I guess
Best,
nAr
Hi Nashorn, thanks for your reply. Btw, where can I get the Camera S/W from? I want to try that.
