Hi,
For those who have seen/touched the real Touch HD, do you know the frame around the screen is made by metal or plastic with plating.
HTC's plating is not good. see the black D810.
Thanks

I was wondering if there was any place I could get a replacement screen cover, but not the entire screen (which looks to run ~$70). It seems like there is a piece of plastic over the screen itself and I was wondering if there is a way to replace JUST that piece of plastic.
Mine is scratched to hell.
Thanks.

I thought the screen was one unit. I haven't heard of a cover over the screen besides the one that comes on the phone from the factory, which I removed before using the phone. I've had my tilt for about 6 months or longer and dont have any scratches on the screen, well some tiny light ones but then again the phone gets a ride in my pocket alone without anything in there to damage it.
edit:... oh you wanted the actual touch screen... buy the one in your link :dunno:
I guess the question is - if your screen is scratched - which piece is actually the top most? I assume it is the digitizer/touch screen layer.

Yeah, thats how most touch screens are setup if not all. They're just the touch sensor matrix which is clear infront of the LCD panel.
i got a screen cover with my tytn 2 which im sure are very cheap to pick up less then $1 but i mainly have a problem with dust getting under the side of my screen im sure you all know where i mean
im sure a screen protector costs less than £1 i got one through with my phone but i couldnt put in on without bubbles so i left it and i have noticed i have scratches on my screen being left alone aside my wallet in the pocket of my jeans. but im sure a good polish with dvd cleaner or even brasso (works wonders on psp screens) could clean up those scratches... i recommend dvd cleaner cause brasso would make a mess and also get down the sides of the screen like random crap does anyway... i found a part of a leaf there a few times you would have thought such a big opening would have been sealed my htc?
Having replaced my LCD, I can tell you that the plastic screen is indeed part of the LCD, and is not a removable component.
I have it my hand right now, and it seems there's no way to break apart the lcd into its components (lcd, digitizer, and plastic).
If you're determined to fix it, you'd have to buy a new screen.
if we speaking about the thin film, i recommend you either buy original htc or 3m product the size is 2.8"
the dvd cleaner is great idea to clean as one of the boys suggested
buy an anti-glare - so u can use it outdoor natural light conditions
get a rough texture if u use the stylus for handwriting
these are some tips and good luck man
Anyone tried that yet? Are there any parts that need to be trimmed, specially the portion that covers the bottom pad.

Would love to know the answer to this also, because I'm upgrading to a Pro next week and I have 2 spare protectors from my diamond
I don't know the answer, but I can tell you that the HTC branded Touch Pro comes with a screen protector in the box. I'm not sure if the network branded variants will though.
I would really recommend using screen protector customized for Raphael - it's a bit different (in shape and size) compared to Diamond.
i have the brando screen protector for the diamond on my touch pro, no need for trrimming the way its done though instead of having a cirular cut for where the front cam is, they just shape it so it cuts off that part (in other words no protector over the camera. but otherwise it fits properly. got it for free when my original screen protector peeled off in my pocket and got dust underneath.
You don´t have to adapt anything to use one for the diamond. I have done it with the protector from DuraSex and it fits in both parts

I am using my Diamond protectors on my Touch pro. I have no problems with it. It covers the camera but it also did that on the Diamond.
Zagg Invisible Shield
I'm currently using the Zagg Inc. Invisible Shield screen protector for the Touch Diamond on my Touch Pro...fits perfectly!!!
I used a Diamond screen protector on Raphael, there is no problem with main screen, except i have to use a nailcutter to make curve its corners to fit Raphael screen. But on the bottom pad, big trouble, the protector is smaller and it seems not adhesive, after 1 week it peeled off and got dust!
Hello everyone,
This may sound a little gay but I am worried about how easy it is to scratch the screen? As long as I know now, it is almost possible to scratch the X1's screen with finger nails...
Could anyone compare X1 to HTC T-Pro / Diamond / HD in terms of screen scratchability? Say, if you accidentionally put your device (without any screen protector) in the same pocket with your home keys and walk around for one day. What would be the end-results-difference between X1 and T-Pro/Diamond?
Another question - when you are using the screen protector for X1, does it cover *all* the screen area? or does it leave some offset uncovered (0.2-0.5 mm)? I remember good old days of having a Dell Axim x51v and the original screen protector always left about 0.5mm offset between the screen edge and the protector itself. Looked freaking irritating...
10x..
eeehm the screen seems to be harder, than the one of diamond, or touch pro (diamond and touch pro have this silver plastic, shiny **** on the screen, so they look fancier)
but even the xperia's screen won't survive putting it togehter with your keys for a day
so either get a screen protector, or just do not put it to your keys
Cheers! Any more opinions?
I scratched the screen on and case on my Diamond and my Touch Pro really easily and I am very careful with my phones. As yet have not done it on my Xperia but it is early days. There is no doubt the former were very easy to scratch.
Hi all,
I realize there are a lot of threads about cases and screen covers but what im looking for is a discussion on custom fit screen covers that do not show smudges as badly from oily skinned hands.
Right now im using the screen protecter that came in the box with my touch pro (sprint). it fits great and does the job better than most but my skin is somewhat oily so every time i touch the screen i create really annoying smudges everywhere. has anyone had any luck with a screen cover that handles oil and smudging a tad more... gracefully?
Thanks
Replacing screen on LG G2.
I ordered a LG G2 LCD digitizer pre-installed in a frame assembly off ebay and un-assembled my broken LG G2 and then re-assembled it in the new LCD/digitizer frame and everything works well, except for the fact that when I tilt the screen to the left or to the right, I can see light bleeding out near the sides. Here are some pics of the screen bleeding. It looks like the side of the frame is not attached well enough.

To try and fix this problem I took a guitar pick and lifted up the screen a bit and used a tiny pin to apply some loctite go2 glue (recommended by someone on youtube) on the sides and used C-Clamps to clamp the screen to the frame, but when I took off the clamps (after 24 hrs) I could still see some light bleeding through, not as bad as before but it was still there.
I plan on buying a new screen without the frame attached and trying again. The question is what should I use to get the edges of the screen to stick to the frame? Super glue? Rubber cement? Rubber sealant? Epoxy?
Any help is appreciated.
