Dear HTC LEO, welcome in my life.
But why is there no way to activate the quick menu?(on the upper right corner?)
And how about the lock screen? every time the device wakes up it locks.
how do i disable and enable these things?

I'm wondering the exact same thing myself mate.
Can no-one help?
Another here who misses the 'Quick Menu'.
There's a lot of talk on not being able to shut down programs that are loaded into memory without now having to launch the Task Manager first, but this was all part of the same HTC Task Manager.... you either closed it or brought it to the front.

several threads going on this. HTC task manager cab can be found in the threads "hints and tips". The cab has been provided by Dutty Throy. I have read that some users need to disable htc sence before installing.

Thanks for that, but that doesn't work for me. Strange, since other HD2 users are okay with that cab.

Yes, I'm well aware of those topics. I've contributed to some myself.
What I am saying though is although there is a lot of talk on this no one seems to mention the Quick Menu's acxess list.
Everone talks of being able to access the closed 'X'.

I agree. If the memory management is so super-duper that it can leave programs open and not have a detrimental effect then that doesn't help me switch between them on my MULTI-TASKING smart phone now does it!
I just want the quick menu back. I hate the idea of having to flash a ROM onto a phone that I've had for less than a day, just to get some of the functionality that I expected to be standard.
You can switch to running application by running it again.

I've been using a very similar OS for over a year now, and have always been able to just click the down arrow in the top right of my home screen for a list of running apps. This is what people are asking for, not work-rounds.
Besides, if the app in question is in a sub-menu of a sub-menu of the start menu, then it becomes a real pain to run it again. It's quicker to stick the task manager on your quick links on the home page and use that (despite the fact that that is ANOTHER app running, and we don't have access to exclusions any more either).

Yes but this is exactly why there is an issue in not having a 'Quick Menu'.
Running them again you have to open Start then find the program (of which if you have many, many programs/games can take quite a bit of effort).
Much simpler to just open the 'Quick Menu' and click on the already opened program.....

Simpel.
Go to Windows/Navi Panel.exe
Make a copy
Paste a shortcut in Windows/Start menu/Menu
Add it in HTC Sense.
And there you go!
No car kit needed at all!
The app works aswell in both direction.
The app works with co pilot.
haha nice one mate!

So how are you getting on with it after using it for a few days? Everything you hoped it woudl be or has it fallen short of expectations?
Yo Xmoo,
Thanks for ur hd! And this app works perfectly with copilot, working out to get it working with tomtom7.
Should work though, since the navipanelehtml file says it works with your navigation software.

Well you cannot costumize it fully.
This wm build has some crappy things....
Mem Leak (Not a big problem with huge RAM)
Start menu (Only Move on top)
Start button is hard to reach by one hand. (Latest build has it below)
Extra battery (Some in rom tweaks for better bat)
Speed (Latest build gives some extra speed, extra is always better)

Do you know where the memory leak is coming from? Usually Opera and Internet Explorer are the main causes of memory leak on WM devices but without using it I wouldnt know. I always use Advanced Config Tool to tighten things up as much as I can I dont know if that will be of any use but its worth having a look at the options.
I never did like WM6.5 but I guess its something I will have to get to grips with. I use QuickMenu at the moment with my kaiser but that will be absolutely no use with no stylus and no d-pad. Im also going to have to get used to Resco Explorer in the finger friendly mode

What makes you say that? Browsers consume a lot of memory, but that doesn't necessarily constitute a memory leak.
LEt's stay on topic guys.
Mem leaks are everywhere.
Just need a good build, that can handle them.
Did someone test it or get it working with iGO8? (Navi Panel)

If you have installed the Touch Tools app I have mentioned to you before. Then just use itcto set your touch sesativity higher or lower, justcpokecaround some with the app you will see it is well worth installing. It gives you so much control over your HD2 using Windows Mobile.

Unless the app developer has add another feature or something seems I last used it. I only had to download and installcthe app. The part I am talking about is in the Touch Tools part of te app. I will be sighting this from memory here so it may not be 100% corect. Go to Start>TouchTools> Touch Tools>Menu>User interface I think. You should be able to find it then.

hi, t-mac. i went into the settings of touch tools 2.0. but i dont see any features that provide touch sensitivity. i did see, 'start menu icons per row', 'menu bar font size,' 'minimum tap time,' etc. but, i dont see any specific feature for touch screen.
also, i installed, 'co0kie's home tab' that installs 4 icon quick links instead of 3 in the home screen. i dont like it. i want the original 3 quick links back. but theres no way to get that back. the 'edit lock screen layout' feature is greyed out. i like the program's feature that lets you scroll across to give you more quick links, though. is there a way to keep this feature while getting the 3 quick links back? and how do i ungrey the 'edit lock screen layout' feature?
if you can help me with these 2 issues, i'd be indebted to you. thanks man.

wassup thebest1. just to let you know, i got an unmodded, stock 6.5 hd2. i got a questions please. will removing startup items increase batt life and performance?
Only knowns issues by removing it are some apps that i notice. For instance holding the power button for 3 sec quicklist (Shutdown)app will appear. Now if you remove the apps from startup folder, holding the power button for 3 sec it will take about 6-7 sec for the quicklist app to appear. Same goes with Comm Manager, it will open automaticall. But by removing the apps from startup application it will take about 6-7 sec for Comm Manager to open. I replace those 2 apps with psshutxp and cookies home tab. I hope this helps.

so in other words, removing these startup items wont affect batt life or perforrnance. just that some programs will start a few secs longer.
Thats Correct. It will not affect battery life or performance.
I could be wrong but I think taking things off of your Start up has bound to help some. I mean for one when you first boot up hour device it uses the start up to know what programs it is suppose to initialize and start up and let continue to run in the background. So it would help a small bit by your device not having to start so much up and taking less time to boot. After all boot up is when your device has some of it's highest power consumtion. Also the less things running in the background the less the processor has to work and the less power consumption the device has. This is why turning HTC Sense off helps save battery because even though you canxsee it on the home screen. It is still a programthat is running in the background cause it is not part of the actual Windows OS but a theme or graphic UI for the device, now granted HTC Sense is one of the biggest power consuming programs compared to others. But thos is because HTC Sense recquires alot of,memory and resources of the device where most other programs don't. Remember I am only using HTC Sense as an example.
When you take the programs off of start up they take longer to come up because the have to cold start as to hot start if the are in start up. Cold start means it has to initialilize or started up before it can open. Hot start means it is already initialized or started ip and can just open.

This is the .exe that starts up the screen lock program, and the security lock program (if you use it) on your HD2, if you don't use or want either of these you can remove it and nothing bad should happen, except you would probably have to manually lock \disable the screen if you wanted the display to stay on all the time.
