Voip app for Htc Touch? - Touch GSM General

Hi
What's the best software to make calls using voip configurations?

Skype or FRING or Google
http://gt.hopto.org/~marcas/google/?g=Use+Google...&c=

I had microsoft's VC on my HTC 8125, which was excelllent. I could not get it to work on my Touch though . I have used the "Voice Commander" that came with the Touch, which for me is OK (average), but does not hold a candle to Microsoft's VC (IMO).
Search around this forum. There maybe some fixes to make Microsoft's VC work on the touch. I just didn't put any effort into trying harder to get it to work on mine.
MS VC Link
Best Wishes!

Distro VOIP posted in Development & Research works 100% fine

works great

Should I try MS Voice Command on Jasjar ?

Hi, over a year ago I bought a copy of MS Voice Command on my XDA2. I struggled to get it to work effeciently/consistently enough, and I felt I couldn't quite get the right accent
Anyway, I kinda like the software but it was hit and miss if it picked it up.
Now the jasjar comes with a voice recognition software, preloaded, which I think works very well, using voice tags.
I do not believe though it will call out appointment details though or reminders etc, which I know MS VC will.
I note from the MS website that u can upgrade for free, so I was wondering if peeps think it is a worthwhile app to load. Is the newer version any better than the old version.
I value all comments about using MS Voice Command on jasjar.
Cheers, Numb
Running it on my jasjar. You can hack it to start recognising when you hit your BT headset button (search for posts by me and you'll find the instructions).
You need V1.5 to work properly and you will have to muck about a bit as the installer doesn't seem to like AS4.
Great piece of software though.
V1.5 is a big improvement on V1.0. The version notes actually mention improvements that were made specifically for PPC PE devices. I have found it now to be 95% accurate, whereas with V1.0, i would generally have to repeat commands most of the time. Good luck with it!
Regards
Chris
re
well I have messed around with this for nearly 2.5 hours trying to load v1.5 on the jasjar with no success. I either don't have 1.0 installed or an older version is installed on the phone. Now am really frustrated.
Flipping heck how frstrating
Cheers, Numb
It causes mucho bugs
I would definietly avoid it, it will kill your skype, and slow the machine down. wait for wm5 fixes
re
well as I can't even load it I think I will have to wait for the WM5 version. Knowing my luck though MS will probably charge for this upgrade. I just feel that if VC was working well on the device, it would be perfect
Cheers, Numb
I was able to install MS Voice Command 1.5 by first running the installer, then grabbing the CAB file from the program files directory on the PC, copying it over to the JJ, then executing the CAB on the JJ. Still working on getting it to work over BT.
Good luck!

Is skype going to release a working version>>?>

I have Trinity which skype does not support either.
However I was able to found one early beta of Skype which worked perfectly on my device. Here is the link ... test it ... I bet it will work.

Use 'fring'. Connects to Skype, works great on my Touch!
Wow ... fring ... completely useless in my opinion.
What use do I have of something unable to use wifi ? (fring works only with GPRS/EDGE on my Trinity)

I am using Skype for Touch, and it's working. I was able to make calls to Singapore.
osavioro,
I have Dopod D810 running offical WM6 rom with Fring v3.20.23.118. It is working fine with Wifi. I wander why yours is not working.
I fring with google talk, msn, skype, they all work fine for me. The advantage of fring is that u do not have to install skype, messenger and other, just one application and one screen to work with multiple IM.
i know
yes search new version of skype at Google then i am sure you will get the latest versions information from there.
Ali.

Hey maassk213,
Skype works with HTC Touch and ELFin without any problems. I am using it right now.

I'm wondering too why it does not work ... it is searching for connection and do not find one.
Fring works like a charm over wifi on my WM5 Wizard (fring version 3.20.23.118). It should enable wifi on your phone by itself, but maybe try enabling it yourself and make sure it connects to a access point before launching fring?
It's also worth mentioning that fring is much more CPU-efficient. With Skype, i can talk only after overclocking my wizard to something around 260MHz. When i make skype call trough fring, it uses only about 60% CPU time without overclocking (@195MHz). So it is really good software, especially on slower devices.

I've done all mentioned above and there was no effect.
I will wait for more stable and eye-candy version of fring.
However my 400 MHz Trinity does not fear skype
P.S. BTW there is another small application -- OctroTalk -- which support several IMs and even Google Talk (unfortunately Skype is not supported).
If there are enthusiastic people in this thread ... test it please ... you can find it here: http://www.octro.com.

fring for hd? which one?

I would to install fring as IM program, but I see that on official site, blackstone ins't on the supported devices list...maybe the one for diamond works fine on hd?
I used Tpro
Fring works with the normal release... for my person, I don't like it.
Give a try to BeejiveIM or Palringo.
Or Nimbuzz, the only one that supports Facebook chat AFAIK.
does nimbuzz available on windows mobile? good, thx
which the best in your opinion nimbuzz o palringo?
i use nimbuzz
I use Nimbuzz firs day ang work. But there are some problem sometimes. Somtemes stop-working, ...
Here is video Nimbuzz on Touch HD:
http://www.youtube.com/v/xwcMBNfMA7A
xperia version works great on mine
Fring recently released a new version supporting earphone speaker for voice calls, rather than external speaker, as well as file transfer and other updates to bring it in-line with the S60 release.
Works nicely. Cab available at http://www.fring.com/cab.
Nimbuzz looks great but is hella slow when scrolling on the HD.
Fring works wonderfully... still trying to figure out how to make free phone calls.

Voice Command for X1

i found an awesome voice command program for all windows moblie phones. It was designed on a WM 5 verison. i tired it on my X1, it worked well, i could use all functions like calling a contact, starting up and app, finding out my next appointment and so on but just giving simple voice requests and the it use to reply back. the only problem was that when i recieved a call..the voice would not work (as its suppose to tell me who's calling).
does anyone know of a full voice command program fully compatiable on the X1 as this one works brillantly on HTC's and omnia's but not the X1.
Please let me know how it works or if anyone knows of a better voice command program for the X1 or WM6.1 specifically. thanks.
Care to share the name of that "awesome voice command program for all windows moblie phones"?
They are talking about Microsoft's Voice Command. The issue of not announcing incoming calls is well known on the X1 and, as far as I know, there is not fix for it.
Sadly, while other companies have tried to implement voice control software of their own, they are never quite as good as Microsoft's version.
OMG giefv plx !!!
wait a second, i feel a disturbance in the search function
thanks for the replies..it is the Microsoft voice command. but i did some research on it now and yes the incoming call annoucements are an issue on the X1. also after i installed the MSVC..my screen started flickering non-stop even after a soft-reset. i had to unistall it and reset..after 4 restarts it worked fine again.
its an awesome program if it worked 100%!!
ive used MVC for a while now on my x1, its cool i have it set up on right hardware button. Best feature for me is it reads text messages outloud ( turn sms ringtone off) great program

ms voice command with 6.5?

anyone using ms voice command with 6.5? hows it working for you? does it speak out sms/email and callers?
I have also installed this program. But it doesn't work. It is enabled. I have reset the Xperia. But nothing.
I think MS Voice Command isn't compatible with win6.5?
WM6.5 is reportedly going to have a new voice technology integrated with it called Tell Me.

CHEERS MATE now we just have to find the a cab for this.....
Seems to work for me, I'm running a ROM provided on these boards based on 6.5 and R3A fw.
Announcing incoming calls does not work, but it didn't work when I was running 6.1 either.
But I have Voice Command bound to the right hardware key and it works the same as it always has.
can you get into your settings for voice command? if no- then its not working for you as well mate, the basic feature seems to work, but on any rom 6.5 i try it with i can not get it to announce sms/email/caller id or even get into the settings for voice command...
Hey man, I see what you're saying now... however I WAS able to open up the VC settings but as I said earlier, despite having the proper settings, VC does not announce incoming calls, which also didn't work for me in Win 6.1.
I have the WM6.5 gtrab ROM and MSVC. Everything appears to be working fine for me including making changes to settings. The Voice Command settings should be located in Settings->Personal.
