I did a speed test on mobilespeedtest.com using the default Opera 9.7 browser and got speeds between 400 and 700 Kbps. When I had the stock icons, it always used to say 3G but ever since I updated the icons, I get H most of the time. But I thought H speeds were supposed to be much higher than 3G.
I have the original stock ROM.
P.S. I tried with the 2MB file... seems more consistent than a small file.
Sites you can use for speed test:

for some reason , the default browser is slow!!. I normally use opera mini, try running that same test using opera mini

Opera mini might not give you the true results because the way it pushes data from its servers.
Basically, when you request a web page in opera mini, the request goes to Opera's server. That server fetches the web page you requested, converts it to the best format to be displayed on your phone (makes changes to the page like downsizing images etc) and pushes the modified web page back to your phone.
Not sure how it would affect your results here but this is the reason I don't use opera mini for secure sites like banks etc because the uid/pwd goes through opera's servers, not directly to the bank's website.
Once I was standing in the middle of the street and got like 5000k. Indoors I get probably from 900 - 1200k
I get around 1.2mb to 1.5mb inside never tryed outside..
I get around 500 Kbps. Seems kinda lame for full 3G bars.
in manhattan nyc.. i get 1.8mbps -2.7mbps daytime and about 4.5 to 8mbps night.. after 7pm
Depending on what browser I'm using, I get these results on Edge:
Opera Mobile (Default Browser): 29kbps (100KB) 54kbps (500kb)
Internet Explorer: 522kbps (100kb), 1,904kbps (500kb), 3,007kbps (1mb)
Skyfire: 1,200kbps (100kb) 1,902kbps (500kb) 2,112kbps (1mb), 2,636kbps (2mb)
This is on EDGE. These results have to be BS, except for Opera's... >_> THAT I believe.

Let me guess...you're running the tests using mobilespeedtest.com? I think their results are unreliable, and I've often seen completely unrealistic numbers come out of them.
What speed testing site would you recommend?
Well I know Skyfire, not sure about Opera 9.7, uses servers to precache websites to make browsing faster. I would think IE would give the most accurate results. The best option though would be an app that directly connects to the web.

I use www.dslreports.com/mspeed. It's a not-pretty plain HTML page, but the results I get from there are much more consistent and reliable.
I've got an older app that's supposed to test data speeds, but it requires that you already know the location of a 2MB (or more) file on a server somewhere to use for the DL...so I never bothered to try, you're welcome to give it a shot if you want, let me know and I'll dig it up
dslreports.com/mspeed
1MB test
Opera Mini 5
1546 kbit/sec
.085s latency
5.37s d/l time.
Opera 10
439 kbit/sec
.269s latency
18.882s d/l time.
Opera 9.7
275 kbit/sec
.163s latency
29.32s d/l time.
I always use opera mini5 or opera 10. 9.7 is sluggish for me and I really don't care about pinch to zoom.
I got better results with Skyfire then with Opera mini, using MobileSpeedTest.com
1212.121 kbps as opposed to 231.214 kbps
I LOLed at my skyfire results. Sitting in the same spot running tests one after the other multiple times, the best I got was 709 kbps with Opera 9.7 and 2985 kbps using skyfire. Opera seemed to like the 1mb file better and skyfire definitely liked the 2mb file. 4x as fast, yeah I'll stick with my inflated skyfire numbers thank you.
Skyfire and Opera mini should definitely not be used for speed tests. Oddly, IE gives me some crazy numbers in the 3000 kbps range. I want to say Opera 9.7 gives the most accurate, but 500 kbps just sucks for 3G and I don't want to admit it.
ok i've tried almost every radio out there available for my tmousa hd2 and my 3g speeds are just horrible. i also use dslreports to get my 3g speeds and i consistently get under 100 kbps every time using internet explorer no matter what area of town i'm in (i live in el paso, tx). my previous phone was an iphone running on edge that got 10x better speeds. any suggestions on how to fix this or should i just sell this "awesome" phone.
Average 600kbps in middle TN.
Opera 10.
I get around 500kb-1000kb download in Boston. Around 500kb-800kb upload.
What settings are the best for better framerate?
I am posting this because im only getting 40 framerate when playing Rayman 2.
Any advice?
bumping thread
I normally get a bit peeved when I see people bump threads after just a few hours, but this really takes the mick.
Have a bit of patience mate

Use eboots, they are a lot faster than other forms of rips (bin etc).
Other than that, zodtt himself gives the following advice (quoted from www(dot)androidemus(dot)com):
Things that must be known:
- Anti aliasing on some devices is slow. Disable it to start off with.
- Make sure you have precise cdrom DISABLED. It affects audio greatly. It's only for Diablo, in which case it needs that setting.
- Save states can become incompatible between releases. I try to minimize these issues, but if you run into a performance issue, try without save states.
- Save states also save the cycle and precise cdrom settings you saved with. Once saved they are locked in!
- Use NTSC (US/Japanese) versions of games if possible! I haven't been testing with PAL games and they run at a different FPS.
- The Cycle setting is your friend. Raising it MAY increase your FPS. Raising it too high will just increase the FPS but not the gameplay. Lowering it to 2 helps in some games, especially heavily 3D ones. It's very dependent on the game being played.
That being said:
1. Uninstall v2. Re-Install the latest version of v2. At time of writing it's 1.1.2. Confirm it is the latest version. Leave every setting at the default. Enable the FPS setting. Disable the Anti-Aliasing setting. Start a NEW game (NO Save States). Note the game being tested, and note the FPS in a certain area of that game.
2. From there, try a Cycle setting of 4 instead of 3, and start a new game with no save states. You might also want to try a refresh rate of 30 instead of 60. Check the FPS in that game and see if it went up in that area.
3. Try enabling CDDA if you have a proper rip with the CDDA files in place. If that doesn't help, try disabling sound and (or?) CDDA.
Alternatively, wait for FPSeCE for Android, should be out any day now...
Hi,
These build.prop settings seems to improve the Silk browser experience , for me I added to /system /build.prop :
# Kindle broadband tweaks
net.ipv4.tcp_rfc1337=1
net.ipv4.ip_no_pmtu_disc=0
net.ipv4.tcp_sack=1
net.ipv4.tcp_fack=1
net.ipv4.tcp_window_scaling=1
net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps=1
net.ipv4.tcp_ecn=0
ipv4.ip_no_pmtu_disc=0
I am curious if these settings help other users as Silk can sometimes feel a little slow. I feel that the speed improvement goes best with both 'Accelerate page loading' and 'Optional encryption' turned on.
I cannot say I can verify this on a pure benchmark, but just on 'feel'.
* These settings come from a search for 'Ubuntu broadband tweaks' and there were a number of them.
That's cool. But what is the actual speed diff? Silk works like silk on my network, so I have no issues. But even faster would make my device look like a desktop
http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?flash=1: speed results
Using the title link with the build.prop tweaks:
4842 Kb/s down
622 Kb/s up
Without them:
4050 Kb/s down
607 Kb/s up
Perhaps, a noticeable difference for some of us. Thanks for making me do a real test
I had few android devices until now and everytime i am using any torrent client speed is very low while on pc at the same time same torrent goes with 800kb per second now i am trying to use atorent and its same again 1 kb to 10kb any fix or solution for this

I say this with the utmost sincerity, can you restate your issue in a clearer fashion? Are you describing a WiFi issue?
Does realme 2 pro supports carrier aggregation?
In gsmarena website it was mentioned that Realme 2 Pro supports 2CA.
Do you have this device? Please share modem log so i can then check if this device support Carrier Aggregation? Here instruction how to get modem log: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g...droid-phone/#OnePlus,_Oppo_and_RealMe_devices
Log
I can't share bcz when i captured the the file size is more then 5gb and I don't have wifi..my daily data fup is 3gb

Can you compress the file? Why it is so large? You don't need record whole day that log file. Just 1min only - size should be about 50-100MB max only.
Log file
It doesn't stop recording. I am on realme 2 pro android 10( realmi ui).

When you start recording there is button to stop recording. Otherwise yes it will keep running background.
Log file
I clicked on stop recording...but it was still recording.. that's the problem.

Oh that strange but log files should split to 100MB file (qmdl). One 100MB file enough. This file should be in qmdl directory. Hope you can find example free WIFI network where you can send files.
