Google Maps without internet connection? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

hi to all
i wanted to ask, if it is possible to use google maps without the internet on my diamond....
for example : is there any way to load the map of germany on my phone so i can use it without paying for internet
thanks for responses

try smart2go; similar and you can store maps...

can somebody explain me how i get that on my diamond?
i guess it´s for nokia...

new bie question
I am confused. I would like to know whether we can install the google maps on diamond? can we use it just to find our way without connecting to GPS and so on.
I am sorry I don't have so much knowledge.
thanks for your kind reply.
greetings!
sony

I use TrekBuddy for the same purpose. It works nice on the Diamond.

search for smart2go wm6

I use GoogleMaps in Colorado, and it does work with and without GPS. Here in the US, GoogleMaps will use cell towers to triangulate where you are (been off as much as a half mile before), but it is better than nothing if you have no data plan.

no, it is not possible. you need internet to download maps on the fly. gm does have limited memory where you can browse a map (via internet) and it remembers a few frames for when you arent connected

That's called AGPS. Without using GPS and internet connection, the device finds your location. Iphone uses AGPS. I have no idea whether GoogleMap on diamond uses AGPS or not. But it's really annoying that when using GoogleMap without turning data connection on, GoogleMap keeps on popping that it needs some sort of data connection and I need to cancel it constantly.
Guys, anyway to get around this?

I just started working on GL Maps this past week. It caches maps for 48 hours.
It's still very early beta though, so it probably won't fit what you need for a while.

Uploading GPS Info

Hi There
Ive tried searching high and low for this type of feature and I cannot find anything. Let me explain..
What I want to do is on my Pocket PC with a GPS unit, is basically have a program running that grabs the Long/Lat data from the GPS at a specified time interval (say every 60 mins) and uploads that to a website or FTP via GPRS.
What I plan to do on the website side of things is to have the website read from that data and load Google Maps to show where the person is!
Anyone already know a program to do this kind of thing?
Thanks in advance
Gary
Hi
I have made a program that will get the gps pos of a device and send it back to a pc via SMS it can send it to a server over gprs.
pjcltd is there any chance of a copy of the program.
Darthgus, hers a laptop solution, I am sure there is a pocket pc solution somewhere.

GPS
Try www.pocketpccreations.com
I have used it to get the location of an operator when tacking data. I have not tried to run a timer it get the data when a user clicks the button. You have to add the gps custom point.
Let me know if you need any further info.

Heh, thats exactly the sort of thing but with Pocket PC. I wanted to get the POS to a website, then use the API of Google maps to show the position.

Yea, Im not really wanting to run a program like that to do it, basically I just want something sitting in the background dropping the GPS point every x mins or x hrs type thing to a website/ftp.
We use this for our workers on the road. They send back positions every 10 seconds via their XDA & we track them on maps in the office.
However, it's part of a larger 2-way data app.

I look forward to testing this program. How do we get the unlimited version if we find it useful?

does someone have the manual uploaded somewhere to download? i have my HD but the CD isn't work on my computer..
i know the phone has GSP and AGPS.. google maps installed..
if there a way to use the maps without have an internet connection?
or something i can install to use without any internet connection?
anyone? i got something on my status bar and have no idea what it is..
You can get the manual from http://rapidshare.com/files/160362655/HTC_Touch_HD_User_Manual_English.pdf
thank you...
does anyone know about the GPS? any program.. software.. settings.. ANYTHING...
in which i can find directions withOUT internet connection/data connection?
i dont have any kind of internet plan as of right now..
or does anyone know how to make the $5 for T-Mobile USA work like they did on the iphone.... i dont want to pay 20bucks.. haha
Google Maps won't work without an internet connection, obviously, as it gets all the mapdata from there.
Your best bet would probably be to get a program like TomTom or Navigon, but the maps are not cheap...
I don't know if there is a program for displaying OpenStreetMaps on Windows Mobile, maybe someone else knows more about this.
i live in the USA... so anything with USA maps and working on the HD? threat to direct me there with the info/settings to vchange or anything? thanks!
TomTom 7 works great on the HD - but it is not free.
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432410 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446487 for more info.
Or take a look here http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Osmtracker but I have no experience with OSM, so cannot help you with that.

TomTom Navigator 7

Hi all
I'm running a legitimate copy of TTN7 on an HTC Touch Diamond. I'd like to add maps of North America, but the map store does not sell them for my version, only for Navigator 6. The map version available is 6.75. Does anybody know if this map will work OK with TTN7?

You need to go outside on a fairly sunny day turn on the gps and let it sit on for about 5-10 minutes. First connection always takes a very long time. If thats not the problem, I cant imagine what is, as the connection to the internal gps is automatic.

you might also want to first use Quick GPS. It really helps in getting a fix faster.

Using a GPS on the Touch Pro2 (Help!)

Hey guys! first off i wanna say thank you for helping with some problems ive had with my TP2 and providing me with some killer .Cabs!! But i have a question. I am currently running Mobium for GPS and its great but its gonna expire. Is there any crack/keygen for this program or a GPS that i can use that works just as great? I tried aMaze and cant get it to work probably because of my location. It just seems to wanna work for Chicago and im in Central Illinois. Google Maps is laggy as hell and isnt always right on directions. Mobium's turn by turn and the voice says the streets and everything haha but im a broke college student who cant pay for it (just yet. lol). Any tips would be helpful. Also my Weather on my Today screen cant seem to pinpoint my location correctly. I have US Cellular as a provider. Its great when im in Chicago but not here. Also any tips on improving battery life and overall proformance of the phone? Thanks for any info!
first off I wouldnt go around asking for a keygen or a cracked program on this site, pretty bad idea to ask for warez here. as far as free GPS i like google maps and also live search mobile. if you want to improve performance and battery life i suggest getting phm reg editor (free) or total commander (free) and search for TP2 reg edits either here or use the google. happy hunting!
I like tomtom as a GPS app but you will have to purchase maps...
tweaks try ADVANCED CONFIG or BSB TWEAKS
power try LumosWizard for the backlight and WMlonglife for signal
GPS.....looks like you already tried all the free ones, lay down some money for a good program like garmin or tom tom...or if your really good you can dig up a torrent file....(google)
later....

no, only for Set Destination need internet connection.... when you set destination, you can turn off internet connection
is there some other apps that use just gps satelites to position??
Search for Navigon wp7 cracked software.
I am not allowed to post here cracked links so you have to search it on google...
I hope I helped
P.S. Navigon is a full gps navigation application that is working completely offline
All you need to do is download in the start up the maps and then you go offline for ever.
