Windows sideshow for your PPC [13-01-2008]

Windows has yet to make windows mobile phones compatible with windows sideshow as promised and I'm sure many people know this already. A company called Ikanos Consulting has made a produced called Go Gadgets and I had been looking everywhere to find the beta download, and when I finally found it on their own site after looking for ever and searching everything I find out the file is password protected.

[Visual Studio 2008] How to convert a desktop app to Smart Device ?

Hello,
I am currently developing a new app for Windows Mobile. It is using different pieces of open source code that I Grab here and there.
This app is not yet finnished, but a lot of things are working fine on my PC.
Before continuing I would like to give it a try on the PPC emulator.
I thought I would easily find a way to convert the whole project to "smart device", but didn't find !
How to do that ? do yuou know the trick ?
Thanks for your help,
Impossible. But you can find a nice article on MSDN about this.

The .Net Compact Framework (used for Windows Mobile) just supports a subset of the features that are implemented in the full .Net Framework.

It is meant to be a cross platform framework. But as mentioned above, the .NETCF supports a subset of the .NET Framework.
You're able to build an application which can run on both applications, but then you're limited to the .NETCF.
Converting is possible, by hand. Not automatically. Try to open the solution and copy/paste parts from your desktop-application to a device-application.

[SOLVED] Registrydump ppc

Hi Chefs,
Recently I've bought a new machine with Windows 7.
On previous XP I've always used a program called Dillsof.com registryDump (PPC)
It dumps the complete registry of device in .txt plus very fast.
For me this program is a must have as you can apply your settings and make a dump before and after and compair, unfortunatly on Windows 7 it gives a .NET error.
Anyone else knows a handy program like this and is compatible with Windows 7?
Thanks.
Hi Leo,
Is Dillsoft.com...i Googled what you wrote and i only found your thread
Anyway, install it with previous windows compatibility mode.
Run it with Window xp SP3 compatibility mode.
I did and it works.....though, thanks for sharing this app

Have you tried CeRegEditor?
Besides editing/searching it lets you dump the registry directly from the device.
And this one shouldnt miss from your registry tools....Thanks to FarmerTed that said me about this tool.
Yeah very handy tool.
Thanks for your tip, I still need to get used to W7 LoL
Edit; Oh and here's the tool haha I almost forgot.

Just to let you know it doesn't work for me with XP service pack 2 or 3 compatibility modus, still the same .NET error in W7.

Uhmm...NET error maybe means NetFramework .
I have W7 Ultimate that comes with NetFramework 3.5 , i really dunno if other W7 versions are the same.
Did you installed it with compatibility mode? I mean right click on the .msi downloaded.
