[SOLVED] Registrydump ppc - Windows Mobile

Hi Chefs,
Recently I've bought a new machine with Windows 7.
On previous XP I've always used a program called Dillsof.com registryDump (PPC)
It dumps the complete registry of device in .txt plus very fast.
For me this program is a must have as you can apply your settings and make a dump before and after and compair, unfortunatly on Windows 7 it gives a .NET error.
Anyone else knows a handy program like this and is compatible with Windows 7?
Thanks.

Hi Leo,
Is Dillsoft.com...i Googled what you wrote and i only found your thread
Anyway, install it with previous windows compatibility mode.
Run it with Window xp SP3 compatibility mode.
I did and it works.....though, thanks for sharing this app

Have you tried CeRegEditor?
Besides editing/searching it lets you dump the registry directly from the device.

And this one shouldnt miss from your registry tools....Thanks to FarmerTed that said me about this tool.

Yeah very handy tool.
Thanks for your tip, I still need to get used to W7 LoL
Edit; Oh and here's the tool haha I almost forgot.

Just to let you know it doesn't work for me with XP service pack 2 or 3 compatibility modus, still the same .NET error in W7.

Uhmm...NET error maybe means NetFramework .
I have W7 Ultimate that comes with NetFramework 3.5 , i really dunno if other W7 versions are the same.
Did you installed it with compatibility mode? I mean right click on the .msi downloaded.

Well, actually, it's the WM5-only CAB file of the very first version (after that, two Service Packs have been released; the latest can be found at http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/CF2SP2/ for both WM5+ and WM2003(SE)). Completely useless on a PPC2k2 device.
CF2, in general, isn't compatible with PPC2k2 at all. There MIGHT be hacks that made it work on WinCE 3.0-based devices but I don't know of any of them.
Thank for all.
For reason, I created 1st "Hello world" in vs2005 and debug & deploy it in to ppc2002 device but vs2005 show alert "Can't not deploy to your device, It not supported"
.....
Sorry my English so bad.

Try compiling it for CF1.
I know this sounds very rude and I apologize in advance but I just can't stop my self from saying it:
Try using a real programing language
Seriously though, VS 2005 is not a good tool if you want to develop for devices as old as those based on PPC 2002.
It doesn't even recognize the SDK for that platform.
That among other things means you will have to deploy manually and will not be able to use any of the remote tools including the debugger.
Plus, having to install CF 1 is not too pleasant for the users of these devices because it takes up quite a lot of precious RAM memory.
Personally I would recommend using eMbedded Visual C 3 (not 4!) for that particular platform.
If you do not know C/C++ you could try eMbedded VB (comes in same package as EVC 3).

netcf.core.ppc3.cab

Hi wanted to try and program for windows mobile, im using Visual Studio.net 2003. When I install my application it says
Requires the installation of netcf.core.ppc3.arm cab for it to run properly. Install the Cab file before running this application.
I have a HTC Touch, It has Net Framework 2 since its wm6. How can i disable this error message when building the cab file?
thanks

Windows has yet to make windows mobile phones compatible with windows sideshow as promised and I'm sure many people know this already. A company called Ikanos Consulting has made a produced called Go Gadgets and I had been looking everywhere to find the beta download, and when I finally found it on their own site after looking for ever and searching everything I find out the file is password protected.

In this case i guess the best way is to install the app from the Windows Store, you can do it from this link:
Music App - Windows Store
Hope this helps.
Edit: I just noticed that microsoft locked the download of the app.
Argony.
I think a way to handle it would be to "upgrade" to the same version of windows (fx RTM), or just try to "repair" your windows with the windows setup files

But that would mean a reinstall right...? All my data will be gone...
@Argony: locked down meaning? I can't install it anyways as its only made for ARM devices..I was trying a workaround but turns out MS already thought of that..

That post explains the way to install a file .appx (Windows Store App) that is not cryptographically signed.
In my opinion, you must wait till the official release of windows 8, microsoft must publish an alternative, or, the same app for x86 - x64.
(In alternative try this app Multimedia 8 - Windows Store)

Settings > developer options > check USB debugging. Reconnect your phone to the computer. Hopefully it should come up.
