Here ya' go. Install to the device, not the storage card.
Next time please search for your needs before posting.
ThankU.
I'm having file upload problems at the moment. Anywhere you see my name (in blue) click on it, then click on find all posts made by me. You should find the cab file where I posted in previous threads.

Well, actually, it's the WM5-only CAB file of the very first version (after that, two Service Packs have been released; the latest can be found at http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/CF2SP2/ for both WM5+ and WM2003(SE)). Completely useless on a PPC2k2 device.
CF2, in general, isn't compatible with PPC2k2 at all. There MIGHT be hacks that made it work on WinCE 3.0-based devices but I don't know of any of them.
Thank for all.
For reason, I created 1st "Hello world" in vs2005 and debug & deploy it in to ppc2002 device but vs2005 show alert "Can't not deploy to your device, It not supported"
.....
Sorry my English so bad.

Try compiling it for CF1.
I know this sounds very rude and I apologize in advance but I just can't stop my self from saying it:
Try using a real programing language
Seriously though, VS 2005 is not a good tool if you want to develop for devices as old as those based on PPC 2002.
It doesn't even recognize the SDK for that platform.
That among other things means you will have to deploy manually and will not be able to use any of the remote tools including the debugger.
Plus, having to install CF 1 is not too pleasant for the users of these devices because it takes up quite a lot of precious RAM memory.
Personally I would recommend using eMbedded Visual C 3 (not 4!) for that particular platform.
If you do not know C/C++ you could try eMbedded VB (comes in same package as EVC 3).

Hi,
Can you post link to the program?
Gilbert
I think it will be fair, that we download the programm from the site of the developer.
So you can visit his site and register in the forum. I think he will do many updates of this small goodie, so he need some of our support. If everyone can download the proggie from anywhere else, its possible that he will not put more development power on it.
Think about it

thanks bongo user, I think you programmed a great tool. helped a lot to me even though I can't check whether hsdpa is really working because there is no specific sign (h instead of u for example) on the hermes to see whether I am in hsdpa or in normal umts.
i have downloaded the software, but have no idea as to what to do with what i have downloaded.
I unpacked the file, amd it is just a bunch of cab files... Unfortunately, I am not sure as to how to proceed from there in order to get the program to work on my Tytn...
Can anyone please help me out? I am new to pocketpc devices in general and don't know my way around yet...

Copy this cab file to your device.
run this cab file like an "EXE File.
Then it installed my App.
thankyou for the quick response... I am going to try this out and then report back
That's a nice tool.
However, I chose to remove the communications manager from the system tray, but now the battery icon is gone too, even though I have not checked that box. And I actually like the battery indicator.
Checking and unchecking the battery indicator checkbox yields no results. Do you have any suggestions?

Sorry BongoUser, I just wanted to make it easy for non german speakers... you can delete the account if you want.
I also updated the wiki information with fit4cat Hermes Tweaker:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry
Will you be updating it when we add more registry tweaks to this page like the registryWizard guy does?
hmm... no luck...
I copied it via activesync to my documents folder on the tytn.....
When i open the file i see a bunch of little files that cannot be opened since they are not associated with any programs...
Can you please give me a step by step instruction as to getting this program working? Thanks again!
EDIT: got it! i was unzipping the file before sending it to the ppc, when i should just have sent the file over as it came

Great!
You can also have a look at Universal and Wizard registry tweaks, most of them are generic WM5 tweaks, not device specific.

Hi Bongouser..
All i had to do was to copy the file over to my documents folder in the pocket pc WITHOUT unzipping it.
I then clicked on the file in the pocketpc and it installed...
I think my problem was that i was looking for an exe file somewhere to click on to install the program..
It works great though!
I do have a question about the sound quality adjustment for the bluetooth headphones...
what is the default setting from the factory for this on the Tytn?? I am just trying to compare the different levels to the standard so that i can decide which I like best.
Thanks!

Attached: IBM J9 Java (weme-wm50-arm-midp20_6.1.0.20060727-102926)
Packed as CAB (no need to copy files manually), with *.jad and *.jar associations.
Files:
install.pdf from IBM - how to install (not needed), how to use.
J9_full 6.1.0.20060727-102926.CAB - full installation - Java Virtual Machine, Midlet manager, Midlet runner, libraries. Size after install - 3.4Mb
J9_tiny 6.1.0.20060727-102926.CAB - simplified installation. Without Java Virtual Machine (probably you don't need), without debugging support (probably you don't need), without eastern languages support (sorry, they are too big for me). Only Midlet manager, Midlet runner, libraries. Installs automatically into main storage. Size after install - 2.3Mb
thanks for this. I had the WM2003 version and was annoying not being able to use the soft buttons in the Midlet Manager
ibm-weme-wm50-sp-arm-midp20-6.1.0
Is there any chance someone could also post the smartphone installer?
thanks man... that help me.
Just an FYI. I still can not see JPEG sattelite imagery in google maps. the wm2003 version let me but not this version or the built in intent java.
is there a chance that this version support internet over proxy settings. lixe vor o2 wap flat. i canĀ“t find find reg settings like for the built in midletmanager on my hermes.

I tried the tiny version first, then the full version and it didn't make a difference
Can you redo the cab so when we install it, we have choice to where we want to install it? I want ot install it into my storage card. Thanks!
Also, anyone having problems getting the shortcut parameters "-xjam:run=1" to work? I had it working w/ the older version of the Java. This automatically runs the first program in the menu, which makes it more convenient than having to manually choose it.
Thank-you
Yes thank-you that helped me too.

Probably - you will not see any differences. Me too
In my opinion: IBM Java for Linux is the best of the best. I believe that IBM knows everything about Java. I believe, that J9 is the best of the best too
But probably midlets are not too complicated to see any differences between Java Virtual Machines

J9 gave me nothing compared with Intent.
In fact, I find it panifully slow compared to the former one. For example, it takes almost 25 seconds for MGMaps to load a screen with J9, 8 to 10 seconds for Intent...

i have a question about the full version:
can i install it onto my storage card?
Found a post on this forum for someone looking for something like HIEW for Pocket PCs.
ChARMeD is freeware and has had this functionality since 2005, just right click and choose assemble on the instruction.
The PC Windows Version can be found at:
http://carolos.za.net/software.html
The Pocket PC version can be found at:

I've already put the programm in the same dir as the disassembler and rename my programme as test.exe, but the disassembler can't run
ok, well, I am busy rewriting charmed already, the .exe is a bit huge
should be around 300k when i'm finished and most of the problems should be solved...
if you need to edit the assembly of your file, use the PC version of charmed for now...
sorry for the problems...
thanks for trying...
I will post when there is an update
Please tell me how much ram your device has and maybe try a smaller .exe file
As promised there is an update for charmed,
about 150kb very stable, very neat, has an open dialog and already useful if you would like to find out what dlls a pocket pc program is using.
It only disassembles 29 lines of code, this should be fixed in the next release.
the url is http://blog.carolos.za.net/2007/03/charmed-disassembler-beta-02-for-pocket.html
Please let me know of any bugs and suggestions,
thanks

Hello,
I am currently developing a new app for Windows Mobile. It is using different pieces of open source code that I Grab here and there.
This app is not yet finnished, but a lot of things are working fine on my PC.
Before continuing I would like to give it a try on the PPC emulator.
I thought I would easily find a way to convert the whole project to "smart device", but didn't find !
How to do that ? do yuou know the trick ?
Thanks for your help,
Impossible. But you can find a nice article on MSDN about this.

The .Net Compact Framework (used for Windows Mobile) just supports a subset of the features that are implemented in the full .Net Framework.

It is meant to be a cross platform framework. But as mentioned above, the .NETCF supports a subset of the .NET Framework.
You're able to build an application which can run on both applications, but then you're limited to the .NETCF.
Converting is possible, by hand. Not automatically. Try to open the solution and copy/paste parts from your desktop-application to a device-application.

I believe the file is a exe file an thus you need to make sure that you connect to your pc via active sync and then double click on the exe file. A window will then open up on your device where you then just follow instructions.

Thanks for the help so far. I've not quite managed to install it to the phone - it keeps trying to modify the program which is installed on my PC. Have copied it over but it won't allow me to install it as it's not an exe file.
