Guys
Hello to everyone on here.
Recently just took delivery off a Vodafone v1615 / Tytan II but disappointed that the touch flo interface is not intalled . so im wanting to check out a few things to see if its possible to install it.
1. whats the best release / version of the touch flo interface to use .
2. is it easy to do with semi technical experience
3. also who is the best person on here to speak to , to get it working using the latest version
4 what can i do if it goes pear shape when installing it.

I've got a tytn, and im using slithers cube launcher port flash.. (sclpf) its in beta 7. its excellent and has 4 sides. this is the touch cube im talking about.. to run it you need flash light.. and another program called ftouchflo. this program assigns finger gestures to programs. it also enables you to scroll in normal programs. and to use sclpf, you can use the old one, but if you want a recent one, you have to donate. this is because

nope, the original tytn, but all the programs needed work on all devices with wm6, so should be fine with the tytn ii...

Official HTC Cruise ROM - 04-08-2008

Hi Folks,
I saw this on the HTC support website:

What's wired is that it's on the Kaiser Software Update !!!!
I've tried my serial to download this rom but ity doesn't work.
Can you guys try this out ?

It's probably a typo, and anyways it says WM 6 and not 6.1. All files have the same date 04-08-2008 which was the day they rearranged their web site. Now the e-club is for ring tones etc, and the hotfixes and rom upgrades are moved to the support area.

anyway htc is stupid monkeys

Could anyone reach an official rom yet ?? can we extract the current installed one on the cruise and have a copy of it ??

Does anyone know what on earth is happening with the release of the official 6.1 update for the Touch Cruise? What on earth is the delay?
WM 6.1 for the Tytn II has been out for months and months now and I thought the two were virtually the same machine, just that the Tytn II has a keyboard added. How is it that Tytn II owners have had a WM 6.1 update for months now and we Touch Cruise owners are still waiting?

They are doing one phone at a time. There are subtle differences on hardware (and software) on the various phone models. Updating and testing everything takes time. You can't just slap together something, test it for 10 minutes and release the files (like a chef can, and sometimes seemingly does looking at the quality of some ROMs).
It's coming, the latest I've heard is next month (september), and I'm for one would rather wait an extra month than getting a buggy ROM. That said the only thing the official ROM might contain that you cannot already get from a dozen cooked ROMs is a slightly optimized video driver that might enable OpenGL. That's cool, but for me CorePlayer has no problems playing videos today.

When you change the id-number to 59 (Touch Cruise), it's not saying Tytn II in the header but Touch Cruise.

...and if you change the id-number to 59.5, or something other than what HTC intended, you can download the ROM that gives your Cruise TouchFlo 3D and a VGA screen

Hi guys, I`ve been thinking about which it`s the real penetration of Polaris(Find, touch Cruise, Orbit..etc) in the market of the cellphones?, cause I think that it will depend of this when our upgrade or others upgrades will come, I realized that elf , elfin and TytNII are the most saled phones withouth mention Diamond, this implies that a Large company as HTC is will be less interested in spent hours of developing for upgrade products which are not the principal source of profits for them, that doesn`t mean that they will not do it, but I think it has sens the fact that those upgrades takes a lot time for be released.......well it`s just a thought.

Manila on tytnII

Hi. I am brand new to this site and have been reading for 3 hrs now. i have found a lot but still unsure how to solve my issue and get the right software.
i am hoping an experienced member can help me quickly.
I have a TYTN II and would like to get Touch Flo 2 (Manilla) on it. Thus I have 3 questions:
1. I want to upgrade to WM 6.1. Do I do that upgrade first via the HTC web site? Or does the manila upgrade include WM 6.1?
2. Does the installation of manilla include the OS or it is just as simple as installing a program?
3. Can u please point me in the direction of the latest stable version of Manila for the TYTN II without any fancy skins. I want the original skin.
4. And finally, i have an older MDA running WM5. Will manila work on it? Or is this asking too much?

1. You'll have to get it through the official HTC site.
2. Manilla is a 'skin' that sits on top of wm6.1, refer to the various threads for install instructions.
3. Currently release 19b, but be aware its no where near 'complete' - it functions but no way i could use it daily on my TyTnII.
4. Maybe. Probably not. Try it and let us know.

yes it works with TYTN II (also called kaiser) actualy it works 100% with some of the cooked roms you find in the Kaiser forum. and it's perfectly capable of day to day use. if release 19b is not usefull for day to day use then go for a cooked rom because all of them are perfect for day to day use.
I've been runing manila 2d on all my devices for weeks without any problems.

1. What is Manilla2D?
2. Should I install Onyx as soon as I get my phone, or should I wait?
3. What's the difference between TouchFLO2D and TouchFLO3D?
4. Is it possible to 'install' TouchFLO3D to an HTC Touch P3452?

Manilla2D = the Diamond Style.
3D= The Cube, 3D Touch Style.

Manilla2D is basically a downsized version of Manilla3D.
and by the way, if you are looking for the HTC touch cube, its not longer available at any other phones, except for the touch and the dual.

M2D has different themes for you to choose, and the themes is developed by our xda-developers community.
HTC Touch P3452 dafault handset does not have M2D, you have to upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 in order to enjoy M2D.
Here are a few pointers.
1) You choose to upgrade either to
- HTC Built ROM, which is their upgraded version
- Cooked Roms, which is made by people just like you and me, but they are usually more functional and practical. And Most people recommend cooked ROM as the HTC Built rom which is commonly known as stock roms, is underpowered and have too little applications. (And lags .. blabla )
One such cooked rom is Onyx and the one I am using.

Yeah I read about Onyx. I'll use the stock ROM for a couple of months, and then look towards Onyx.
This is what I've understood.
Elfin with WM 6.0, neither has TouchFLO2d, nor Manilla2D. If upgraded to WM 6.1, it will have Manilla2D, but it still wont have TouchFLO2D. To get TouchFLO 2D, we have to install a separate thing. And Elfin doesn't supportd TouchFlo3D.
Am I right? I'm confused because jeremy89632 says M2D has different themes available, and tito12 says M2D is a theme.
EDIT: Here, Is this the actual interface of an Elfin with WM6.1?

Umm, what do you mean 'lags GPS'?

HTC Touch Elfin and Elf does not have GPS.
Or known as the global positioning system which tells you where you are.
If you want to get a GPS for your elf, you must pay around SGD100 or around US$60 or even cheaper if you get from ebay.

i wanna upgrade to 6.5 could some one tell me if they give problems? and what are the problems?
and could i get a direct to link to it pls. and i would like a customised wm 6.5 too
could some tell me how to get the touch flo on my O2

Just go over to the XDA Atom ROM Development section, you can find 4 WM6.5 version there, and by :
1) Helloworld1
2) Glossyx1
3) Tabbe
4) Searchers
All 4 are pretty stable but depends on what your requirement is, so you need to check out their threads. Basically, everything in WM6.5 works except for bluetooth as we are not able to send files out. But there is a way out by using Persian Blue or Total Commander. Another issue with bluetooth is you can only add 2 bluetooth device, after that the add device functions gets corrupted. Added devices will still function as normal, just no more additional bluetooth device after that.
The latest one now is from Glossyx1 which is base on a new built as compare to the other 3. They are all good as long as you don't over stress your Atom, as you are aware our Atoms have limited ram resources as compare to newer devices which is what WM6.5 is meant for. I think all WM6.5 have Touchflo incorporated already.
