This info is not true, I done care if it's from Uncle Sam. Go here and see that nobody else in the Americas use the 2100 UMTS Mhz but T-Mobile USA and Brizal, which is in South America http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands ....! Scroll all the way to the bottom, this is how false info get spreading around on the web from people we think we can trust. What's on SonyEricsson "Internal Computer System" is what counts to me 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHZ UMTS. Another thing, AT&T may not even carry the xperia X1a or X1i, none at all.........!

Xperiancers only said that units are leaving the factory from September 30. And if they are being shipped out from Taiwan, yes, it can take 10 days to reach Europe via ship. Then it may take a couple more days for stores to get it out to their customers or on the shelves.
Whine all you want, but we don't quite have transporters yet.
If you want it faster, you could always bribe someone to get it FedEx direct from the factory.
Taiwan? Wonder if anyone in Taiwan got it...

no1 got it yet! SE lies! that' the problem!
i not sure if we really going to get X1 this week or next week!
maybe next week they got a new excuess!
delivery trucks lost the shipment.
wait for next shipment in November 2008!
if it' already on tawian, i'm sure it' all over ebay already!
Actually SE didn't lie. on the 30th the phones left the factory. And it's already available in Sweden. Did you think they would ship at midnight of the 30th and be available in stores the next minute? There is a matter of travel time and administration, you know. Also, if it's made in taiwan, that does not mean you'll be able to buy it there straight away. As already explained, Sweden, UK and Germany are the first to get it. So calm down!

ya. it already available in Sweden if today date is 2009! haha
if it' available, give me a retailer that i can buy it, so they can send it to me tommorrow!
if it already available, how come there is no unbra-ing x1?
According to a local retailer, they got 16 Xperias (mind you that we're not UK, Sweden or Germany, but still in the EU), and for now they're selling them only internally (to people who work there) for about 700$ (that's with discount mind you). Pics soon to follow.
I am not from sweden I don't know where the people who have it bought it (2 of them are on another forum). it's retail and they had to get it somewhere. You (not) beliveing it is totaly irrelevant. I don't quite understand the last question?
@Insaneboy
Where are you from if you don't mind sharing. Hopefuly the whole EU will get them fast (fingers crossed)

So everyone was saying it was supposed to be at Best Buy on Black Friday. November 26th came and went without a word. I called all the Best Buy's in my area and none of them had received any, not even a demo model. In fact, hardly any of them had even heard of an announcement, and no one I talked to had any idea when they'd be getting them in. What the hell, Sony? Are you trying not to compete here? Anyone find any Best Buy's that had them?
I went to Fry's Electronics and I saw it for $799.99! It was out in a that security box. IT looked beautiful. Too much for me to pay though.
Location: Fry's, Fremont, California
why buy a x1a when the x1i works on us 3g? I personally have a x1i and live in san diego and it works perfect! 7.2 mps hsdpa! the x1a does video in 26 fps in qvga! x1i 30 fps in vga. CONFIRMED... the x1i has the us 3g bands!
note.. the reason for the x1a is because sony cannot sell the x1i in the states because the qualcomm processor used in the x1i is in litigation with nokia.
not only does the x1a processor not do vga video... it is also SLOWER
It works 3G because you are in an area that uses 1900MHz. 850 is not supported on x1i.

If that difference between the two devices is going to be a deal breaker, then in all honesty..heh wow I don't even have the words to describe how messed up that sounds
Um last time I checked, they both run at 528MHz...and in fact the the chip in the X1a is a newer release than that of the X1i

Newer does not mean better. They only made the 7201 version because they had to use suboptimal hardware to get around the US patent infringement issue with Broadcomm.

According to HTC, it has USA T-Mobile 3G
There will be specific versions of the device for USA or Europe or there will be one device worldwide?
I'm asking because i'm italian but i'm going to stay in NY for 3 weeks and I could buy one here if it is the same i can buy in Europe.
Thanks
Man, I haven't been on the forums or used my Blackstone for a while now. I am using my samsung Behold right now because I sort of got bored with the HTC blackstone that I imported to use on t-mobile. I am very VERY interested in this phone and can't wait to get some hands-on time with it very soon. Anyone have an info about Huawei G3 phone that should be coming down the pipeline? :
Does anybody know when and where you can get this phone when it comes out? I called T-Mobile (I know they're not going to sell it, but was hoping for some information) and they knew even less than I did. Everything I have read said you must purchase if from google. $530 with no contract or $180 with a two year agreement and you only have one plan to pick from. The supposed retail date is January 5th. You would think they would have done some sort of advertising or at least have something come up on a Google search.

Google is in Mountain View, CA. South of San Francisco. Still in the same time zone as Seattle.
The press conference starts at 10 am, so who really knows. How likely are they to open up sales 1 hour before the conference starts? Actually, I would open up sales today if I was google, and let everyone order but the shipments don't arrive until 10AM the day of the conference.

We have root!!!!!
Stericson and PaulOBrien have successfully rooted the Nexus. Even with the price, this even more of a must buy for me now! http://twitgoo.com/aqr00
I'm more interested in the business model for the N1 in this side of the pond.
How much would it cost in Europe?Who will be selling it?Google or HTC? Which carriers would have it for sale?
So far there aren't any news/leaks/rumors regarding the n1 in Europe, so I guess only at 05/01/2010 we will have the full details.
Wow, didn't take long to get it rooted huh? Instant buy for me. Can't wait for that Android 2.1, AMOLED, 5.0 MP w/Flash, 3.7" screen, and 1GHz Snapdragon Processor. Just can't wait!
it will also be possible to buy it at google.com/phone and ship it to europe. Guys at engadget.com have the full terms of sale wich say that this will be possible. Only thing is you will have to pay taxes and the shipping ... but I don't care bout that, just wanna have that phone ;-)
has anyone read the terms and conditions, it says phone might be 430. hope thats true not the 530 thats a little high

I don't think the rumours of the webpage are true tbh. Although strangely in the terms they make you agree that you understand the phone is made by HTC and not Google =/
After the press conference details, this will be the hottest device on the market! A must have!!
guys, yall gotta check this out!!!! http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/30/nexus-one-trounces-3d-benchmark-gets-caught-in-high-res-photosh/

Nexus One Group on XDA already!!!
Whats all the talk about $29 data SIM about? I wish Google would put some more information out there. I am really looking forward to grabbing one while they're hot.
If it gets released in europe (or ships from usa without tax) i'll sell my iphone and get it asap.

If 2.1 is suppose to hit Aug 15, one would think SE would make the announcement already. One point six isn't that great of a selling point when most of the other phones have 2.1 or higher.

Why the 15th?
If there's a major SE event that date there might be something to it, August is in the third quarter.
The only major event is that they are releasing the X10 in the U.S. But they already stated it will be coming with 1.6
They are not just going to slip 2.1 in without telling us. We'll know when it's coming in due time.

Since most of SE's sales come from outside North America (I have no official figures, just stating logically) where their phones are bought for the actual cost and not subsidized by the carriers, I don't think that it really is such a big event for them. The world doesn't revolve around us ya know...

Yep, I have been a week in London and I was surprised to find so few cell phones shops (generic shops I mean, not operator shops). That was a bit weird as in Italy cell phone are sold almost anywhere (not by the butcher, though) and only a small percentage is tighten to a carrier contract.
vodafone in Australia looks pretty nice you pay 0 for the phone and $79 a month. I dont know if thats normal there but 0 for the phone looks like a good deal.

Rogers released it for 149. in the beginning.
I think this aug 15 thing is a false statement. They would have said something about it if it was true.
August 15th is the official release date for the Xperia X10a in the U.S.
Android 2.1 update will not be released until Q1 2011...
LoL @ anyone thinking that Sony Ericsson would actually release anything ahead of schedule.
If anything they will delay the release of the firmware for 2 weeks for for 1 month.
Don't expect the firmware to be released any sooner than November.

As per 2.1 update, it's going to come in September. I spoke to SE guy yesterday in Mumbai, India and looked like he was pretty sure about it. Just wait for few weeks and we'll get it.

$0 upfront is pretty standard here. the handset repayments are included in the monthly bill, until you start getting the the expensive plans where they make the money back through the plan. having said that, I'm pretty fond of mine. i'm on a $0 upfront $59 cap + $10 handset repayments. gets me $300 of calls, unlimited national text and mms free youtube, FB and myspace +2GB.
back OT, i'm waiting on september (or later, carrier dependent)
There seems to be quite a few people wanting an Arc to suit AT&T, Telstra, Rogers, etc.
I have posted a message here:
http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/produ...its-the-stores/comment-page-1/#comment-149670
And Rikard replied saying he will try to find out what is available for us.
If any one has any info about availability of the LT15a, please post it here.
Edit:
Late April for Rogers: http://mobilesyrup.com/2011/03/31/r...and-arc-launching-late-april-99-99-on-3-year/
I did add another request to make sure he sees the demand. Hopefully he gets some answers.
I don't like creating new post while there are some existing. Rogers will have the ARC out by end of this month (maximum in 26 days) has anyone else in the world getting arc working on 850? Brazil?
People with Rogers, have they release any price without contract yet?

Yes the hardware was important once for me when I got my HD2 as soon as it came out but then design was more important and hardware won't play a big difference for me since I am more for the design and how the phone feels. To me ARC specs are reasonably good for what it is.
I am also going from X10a and arc should be a good replacement. Galaxy S2 is pushed back to May or June?
Just called Rogers to see what it's going to cost to do an early upgrade from my X10a. They don't have it in the system yet so they couldn't give me a price :-( Will try later on.
Not sure if I should stick with branded Rogers to get retain that awesome warranty they have or if I should screw the warranty and go with a unbranded version. The warranty is important because I run & bike with my X10a (since I found a great fitness app) so I think it's just a matter of time before I kill it.

Well, I just chatted with SE rep in the US and no news. They keep saying availabliity in some markets and I can't find any answer what market are they talking about. I should go find a friend in Canada to get me one as soon as it is out.
I checked here on Firmware roll-outs and it pretty much like LT15i except lt15a had one sooner than (i)

Hope to see some lights soon or find a contact @ SE with some answers.
