is there something that takes the scratchs of the - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

off the athena screen?

not really
you were suppose to use a protective shield layer to prevent that

You can actually replace the scratched touch screen without changing the LCD. Look on ebay as they are available and not too expensive. I would recommend getting someone who knows what they are doing to change it though. It looks tricky.

thanks
i will look into that what are they called? screen replacement?

LCD Screen Plastic cover?

I'm looking to trade/sell my TyTN (m3100) soon for a Kaiser, its in good shape considering I've had it nearly a year, just some cosmetic damage to the case
the screen is ok too and works great but there's a few scratches on it however and a piece of dirt
hence i figured and other quick research seemed to tell me there is a screen cover atop the actual LCD screen (if that were not so the dirt would come off)
am i right in thinking there is a cover on the lcd and my lcd isn't actually scratched? is it a digitizer or something of that sort?
it seems to be on ebay for about £12/$25-not the full touchscreen
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Orange-SPV-M3100-LCD-Touch-Screen-digitizer-free-T6-UK_W0QQitemZ120150796798QQihZ002QQcategoryZ10364QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
how much would i be charged roughly to have it fitted?
(i dont really want to open the device myself!!)
or is it really easy and should i just do it myself?
any info would be much appreciated
thanks for reading and thanks for the help
ALSO is this so called digitizer to be electronically coonected?

How to remove scratches from your Trinity screen

(Not sure if there has been a post about this, apologies if there has.)
Just wanted to let everyone know that I had a fairly big scratched area, right where I write the letters for the Letter Recogniser SIP which was very annoying as it prevented the stylus from gliding smoothly. I heard that I should use Brasso (~£1.30 from your local supermarket) on the screen and it has been VERY successful. It's completely removed the scratch.
Just apply a small amount with a cotton-bud and work into the screen in circlular motion (press harder for deeper scratches). Keep doing this for about 10-15 times or until the scratch disappears.
Hope this helps anyone with screen scratches or anyone wondering about using Brasso but too scared to try.
Careful
I wouldn't recommend it as too much brasso will affect the screen, It's not just an abbrasive but solvent too so you will melt the plastic screen. Over-use will make the screen look warped.
I tried this on my M500 ages ago; now if HTC have improved on the screen then hey.. go ahead but don't say I didn't warn you.
Screen protectors are a much better option. If the screen is already marked a protector would give you a smooth finish again. If thats to expensive an option clear contact sheet will also offer the same results and a roll of that will give you screen covers for the rest of your natural life.
it would not "melt" the screen - how misguided. it is a mild solvent and abrasive and so is unlikely to cause much harm to the screen unless used constantly. screen protectors look awful on a screen - especially when the device is off.

Off topic a bit. I bought an expensive screen protector from Brando.. it works very well.. but.. for some reason it (the screen protector) got scratched. any easy way to solve it? Brasso is ok? I thought if there can be any method of using .. say car wax to fill in the grooves of the scratch.
I think it got scratched when stuff like sand got attached to my face and when I list to the phone, it stick onto the scren pctr.. and when I write on it.. it got scratched.
Just be happy you had the screen protector on!
I tried to take out the scratches from the plastic cover on my Casio watch with (Crest) toothpaste and it worked FANTASTIC!!!
Thanks a lot to the Guy who suggested this solution for PDA screens.

OK it doesn't melt the screen off but it gives it a warped look if you reflect light off it.
No tricks can help
Do not fool yourself. Brasso, toothpaste, Displex all leave marks on the screen. Check it with the device off in sunlight or a strong light source.
Brando protector is expensive.
Cheap and perfect is a new digitizer (USD 8).
I just ordered two more. And whenever I get a scratch and I have time I replace it.
hmmm... Brando's protector is selling for 9-10 dollars - you can easily find cheaper alternatives.
I guess the time and hassles (and of course the warranty alone) of replacing the actual digitizer don't really worth the few bucks saved.

Replacement Screen Cover? (Not entire screen)

I was wondering if there was any place I could get a replacement screen cover, but not the entire screen (which looks to run ~$70). It seems like there is a piece of plastic over the screen itself and I was wondering if there is a way to replace JUST that piece of plastic.
Mine is scratched to hell.
Thanks.
edit: Is this what I want: http://cgi.ebay.com/TOUCH-SCREEN-FO...yZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?

I thought the screen was one unit. I haven't heard of a cover over the screen besides the one that comes on the phone from the factory, which I removed before using the phone. I've had my tilt for about 6 months or longer and dont have any scratches on the screen, well some tiny light ones but then again the phone gets a ride in my pocket alone without anything in there to damage it.
edit:... oh you wanted the actual touch screen... buy the one in your link :dunno:
I guess the question is - if your screen is scratched - which piece is actually the top most? I assume it is the digitizer/touch screen layer.

Yeah, thats how most touch screens are setup if not all. They're just the touch sensor matrix which is clear infront of the LCD panel.
i got a screen cover with my tytn 2 which im sure are very cheap to pick up less then $1 but i mainly have a problem with dust getting under the side of my screen im sure you all know where i mean
im sure a screen protector costs less than £1 i got one through with my phone but i couldnt put in on without bubbles so i left it and i have noticed i have scratches on my screen being left alone aside my wallet in the pocket of my jeans. but im sure a good polish with dvd cleaner or even brasso (works wonders on psp screens) could clean up those scratches... i recommend dvd cleaner cause brasso would make a mess and also get down the sides of the screen like random crap does anyway... i found a part of a leaf there a few times you would have thought such a big opening would have been sealed my htc?
Having replaced my LCD, I can tell you that the plastic screen is indeed part of the LCD, and is not a removable component.
I have it my hand right now, and it seems there's no way to break apart the lcd into its components (lcd, digitizer, and plastic).
If you're determined to fix it, you'd have to buy a new screen.
if we speaking about the thin film, i recommend you either buy original htc or 3m product the size is 2.8"
the dvd cleaner is great idea to clean as one of the boys suggested
buy an anti-glare - so u can use it outdoor natural light conditions
get a rough texture if u use the stylus for handwriting
these are some tips and good luck man

scratches on the screen

is there a way to replace the clear screen on the htc elfin? not the LCD itself, just the surface you touch when working with the phone. is this a separate part, or is it part of the LCD itself? thanks for any reply.
If Im not wrong.
Digitizers which you can buy off ebay will give you that surface to replace on your elf.
Others, any ideas?
Im not so sure yet, the other helpful forumers may have better answers.
It depends if you're using a screen protector or not. If you have the stock HTC screen protector, you can get a new one of those or another screen protector like Invisible Shield. If you don't, a new digitizer will do the trick, since that's what the outer surface of the screen is, and it's separate from the LCD. After you replace the digitizer, you should get a screen protector, either invisible shield, or another HTC one, or a cheap set of 5 or 10 that you could just replace when one gets scratched.
Thats right. The surface that gets scratched is called the Digitizer. Its easily available on eBay for less than $10 along with the tools necessary to change it. The procedure for changing is itself pretty simple. You can find one user friendly pictorial guide in PDF here (thanks OSeven, Mike Channon and Oliver Levett)-->
http://mikechannon.net/PDF Manuals/OSeven's Disassembly Guide to the HTC Touch - Elf .pdf
Just follow pages 1 to 5 and then pages 12 to 15. Skip the rest because you don't need to disassemble all components to change the digitizer.
And its a good idea to use screen protector (thin cellulose films stuck over the screen). They are tailormade for a particular phone model to fit the size of the screen. If you purchase a Digitizer from eBay, normally the sellers bundle 1 or 2 screen protectors along with it.

Glass replacement - screwed up. Quick Advice

Bought a new lens on Amazon.com to try and fix a shattered screen. Unfortunately, the glass did not come off clear. It is tinted and what's left on the phone is gray and cracked. Now the screen will not turn on.
I realized that when trying to melt the glue and get the lens off, you need to remember that the glass is clear. So if you stick a playing card in there, make sure you can see it clearly! If you're unsure at all, I would not try this at home!
I'm not sure what I am even looking at, but I think I need a whole need LCD assembly. Bummer. Anyone want a broken one?
It's possible that too much heat was applied during the glass removal process or there that some physical damage to the LCD itself.
The replacement LCD/Digitizer/Glass/frame assemblies are not cheap, even for third-part screens from Aliexpress. The cheapest option may be to find a used s4 that has defective internals and a working display.
