Improved Touchflo - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Looking at the new Touch Viva HTC have annonced the pictures show a slightly different touchflo:
http://www.htc.com/uk/default.aspx
Is the analog clock and advanced weather tab available now? As I can't find it anywhere, or is this something that is going to be launched with this new handset?

its a 2d version of tf3d, for low end phones. there are community members working on a port for our diamonds.

Dude thats one of the sweetest HTC device I've lied my eyes on...
ROM : 512mb
RAM : 288mb
Everything else seems not much different but..
GOSH

Diamond HD is the sweetest thing ever, and there are quite a few changes too.
But fine she is, can't wait

Rumors are this phone id out in December? I'm due upgrade in November

can we stay on topic please!

Yeah, the clock is nice, and I kinda put a new thread out there for it, but I guess will have to wait for the phone to come out so it can be extracted from the ROM, otherwise a imitation created from scratch.

maybe wrong placed here but i didnt want to start a new thread for my quick qeustion.. what is better our diamond vga or the hd wvga??

wvga is 800x480 and vga is "only" 640x480
the only reason Touch HD has that resolution is couse its screen is way longer

here is johnny said:

Maybe a simple search would do the trick...
But anyways here goes..WVGA is known as Wide Video Graphic Array, and apparently from what I've read is that is has better picture quality then a VGA.
Theres not much info on the net but try searching for WVGA and it will answer ur question dude.
I'v seen a video on youtude of a GPS that uses a WVGA and has a Nexuschip or something.
But it brings images to life, like playing a racing game..Hope this helps ya bro

okey here's how it goes Touch HD has way bigger and mostly longer screen and because it's WVGA resolution that is same resolution as VGA but "longer or wider" so there should be no difference unless it just simply has better screen manufactored for it.

or to put it another way, pixels per inch are the same.

actually nope Touch HD has bigger screen so there is less pixels per inch in HD

but Touch HD screen is wider than the one in Diamond and there are the same amount of pixels in width (480) soo ppi is different
after calculation im sure that Diamond has higher ppi
Diamond 285.71 PPI
HD 245.51 PPI
happy now

hot phone right there...though a bit dismayed at the link as it said that the other htc devices (for instance touch/dual/cruise) won't get the updates as they should. I honestly hope the members at xda developers can think of something on release-my brother just got his polaris and almost lunged it at me when he saw the diamond...
The damn musik app is hot! What a great implementation. Looks better than coverflow imho.

Ohh, If I had a dime for every time I have read this on this site! "No way we can port WM5 to other devices, the hardware just isn't there!", "there is no way WM5 will ever run as fast as 2003 because of hardware limitations" (then page pool was discovered)
"WM6??!? forget it!" (and here we are with WM6.1). Or one of my favorites: "we cannot have the cube simply because the software/hardware won't support biotouch"... *sights*
The only thing that we cannot imitate (so far) is the accelerometer, other than that, the UIs that I have seen over the past 5 months (Freestyl, PointUI, UltimateLaunch, SPB Mobile Shell 2, rlToday, the cube(s), etc) are similar to (or some even better than) Manilla. With this I am not saying that Manilla isn't cool (it actually is amazing), but I am saying that it can and probably will be done by someone somewhere down the line.
So, think poistive!!!

The One Negative
that I see is that the screen could be larger. Maybe a full 3in
Now everyone will be on HTC jock again and flock to buy this phone, quickly forgetting the 3D issues. HOW SAD
true
but this is also why xda developers exist LOL
I think that once it does hit and it has been sufficiently "modified *cough*hack*cough*
I can see the 3d drivers working and being applied to raphael as well. Slick as hell of a phone

need I remind you I like those lookalikes LOL
anyway
you're right...so hopefully we may see this on a titan...*thinks* yeah right we can't even get touchflo to work properly LOL
I don't see why TouchFLO 3D shouldn't run on other HTC Touch devices.
The diamond has 528 MHz but 640x480 pixel.
Older devices often 400 MHz but only 320x240 pixel.
The processing power shouldn't be the limiting factor. Only memory could become an issue.

EA and HTC will cooperate and create terrific games!!!

EA Mobile and HTC will produce games for our device! They will use the whole dark and mighty power of our black stone. The games will be fitted for 528Mhz and will use the G-Sensor, they will be cornerstones for the next generation of pocket PCs. A game tailor-made for the Touch HD, it cannot be bad!
Maybe they will even work on a driver for the Quadcomm CPU!
...
I hope its not a very stupid april joke. What do you think about it?
After playing and experiencing Xtract, i always knew the Blackstone was more than capable of playing these kinds of games.
So this venture is possible, even Boom Blox by EA plays at WVGA for HD and nice graphics, so they definitely have the coders capable.

Yeah, why do you think pictures or programs rotate when you rotate the phone, same piece of technology can be used to control games.

No difference here. Go to the gsensor calibration app and you'll see how sensitive it is.
cab files
There are a few knocking around but I cannot find any for the latest version with gensor support, anyone found one yet - the existing cabs work very well in full screen mode though we what seems to be full acceleration. However the apple version I have seen on utube (if it is real) is graphically way ahead.

Nope, it IS the G-sensor enabled version! I just bought it from Handango and it does in fact allow you to steer just by tilting the phone!
This game is awesome! Make sure you get version 1.0.42 to ensure you are getting the version with g-sensor support.
This version is G-Sensor enabled....but its not the HTC version (I think anyway). It works in portrait mode only for me. In landscape the G-Sensor does not work properly. And the graphics are pretty good but only as good as the normal windows mobile version.
Best wait for the proper HTC version I think

I found this but its in French and have no idea what it is entirely. Looks to be the "HD" version of the game.
Not sure really.
in fact it seems the HD version ...?????
This Need for Speed for the HD seems to be really bad. Terrible graphics and a bad controlling (altough it's with G-Sensor)
I love it!!!!
This thread should really be moved to the Themes, Applications and Software forum as its game/software related.
Otherwise, can someone confirm that this is correct version for HD and that G-Sensor works perfectly on both landscape & portrait modes
Honestly I haven't dnloaded it yet. Would those who had purchased this version kindly confirm? The game should work on landscape mode right?

Smaller screen?
I thought there were more larger screen HTC phones coming? I make fun of all my iPhone friends with their dinky 3.5 inch screens!
Hmm if it really has a smaller screen than I´ll better buy me the toshiba tg01 with it´s 4.1" screen! Ok its bigger than the touch hd but its thinner too (just search google pictures and type: touch hd tg01). And it also will have the 1GHz snapdragon chip. The video performance must be also great on the toshiba as you can see at some sample movies. And you can easy adjust the cpu speed on it when you don´t need all the speed and more battery power!
So if this here really will be the next touch hd than I really have to say "bye bye htc for the next months".
I´m sorry for my english
isn't that a russian touch hd on the screen? (google "touch hd yota")

If not I am seriously thinking on move to Tsosh K02....
There is no real device to upgrade. I have tried three devices, XDA Flame - very good, but without keyboard, Touch HD - nice display, but no power (Qualcomm), hard to control (no buttons, no dpad), no qwerty, Xperia X1 - nice, but to small and no power (Qualcomm).
Touch Pro 2 has not jack 3.5, has not flashlight for camera, has not so big display as Uni and has not so big keyboard as Uni . And yes, there is gps.
I think HTC Leo with hw qwerty could be a solution .
Yeah, perhaps the touch pro 3 that is a line with keyboard can be a good succesor (if HTC launches...)
If not tosh k02 looks promising

and here is what could be another successor...

Yes it looks much better, but what is it?
Brand?, mockup?
It´s not a question of learning to cook ROM´s, it´s the limitations of hardware on our beloved Uni´s

- 3.5" audio - can not see it
- And backing seems kind of ugly
- Also lower buttons are almost on the edge of the device - silicone cases may suffer from this

well although HD was the ultimate fone, still we did see the sluggish and the lagged size of the fone, thanks to the newsense ui launched by htc which revived the dieing windows mobile htc hd fone,
all i expect from this fone is to be fast, and with the processsor and enough ram onboard i hope to see LEO outperform its cousin TOUCH HD.
i just wonder how it would be ANDROID + SNAPDRAGON + XPERIA 2 PANELS + SENSE UI = LEO ULTIMATE PHONE 2009
the pics are nice.the phone looks v nice.but like most guys here its a little too big.wonder if it will fit into a pants pocket.i dont like to carry the phone in a pouch around my waist like some old dude
I read that WM 6.5 will supports capacitive screens, no ?
I could well be wrong, I just had it in my head that it didn't, hence my confusion.
looks charming spec sheet wise, though judging by those side-by-side pics with the TouchHD (which is already on the edge size wise) , it will be ridiculously big
other concerns being that it's thinner, yet has a larger display, more ram and a twice as powerful cpu : will that lead to a shorter battery autonomy?
and if the screen is indeed conductive it will be annoying having to zoom in rather then using the stylus when web browsing or using some of the more ppc-oriented windows apps.
we'll see
