First of all: thanks to netkim for upoading!!!
On my FTP you will find:
- mtty-new.exe (to upload the BIN files, BUT I suggest use the OSIMAGETOOL from xda-developers)
- SN40011wwe_AWS.zip (BIN file of 4.00.11 without the T-Mobile utilities)
- SN40016wwe_VS.zip (BIN file of 4.00.16 WITH the T-Mobile utilities)
Since it is easy to remove the utilities I suggest the 4.00.16 version: (which is already on my XDA )
1. Remove the Batterry monitor link from windows\startup
2. Disable the T-Mobile Today plugin
3. Remove program files\aim (If you like MSN )
4. Remove program files\tmobile
ftp.alain-net.net
usn: xda
pwd: xda
Is there any differences compare to the previous version?
Thanks a much!
Yuo are writting that it is easy to remove T-Mobile utilities. How do you mean that? Removing StartUp links to disable starting these utilities? Or you know how to free ROM space used by these utilities?
I edited my first post
Beside T-Mobile utilities, is there any differences?
Beside T-Mobile utilities, is there any differences? Does it have SIM Tool Kit?
How can I obtain numbers for _\cfg\params file in Kitchen, used for extracting ROM image?
900/1800MHz or 900/1900MHz
Is this ROM for 900/1800 or 900/1900MHz?
THNX
Nothing must different, but haven't tested much since I have it only for about three hours
@karlic
It depence on your radio
Does this version have the same faults like 4.00.10, i.e. no ability to upgrade/downgrade the ROM anymore via acticesync/cradle?
Looks like it not an .exe installation so you should be fine. You shouldn't be doing an .exe upgrade anyway.
Aurora13, does this version still mask the "G" notification icon?
Anyone else want to host these? The listed FTP is full. I could but don't have them yet.
Yep busy FTP
5 users max with 45 KBps max.
And it still hasn't got the "G".
Aurora13, are you on the AT&T Network? If not and you use Tmobile, how do they notify you that GPRS is available?
For version .11, I guess this is cooked which is how you removed the utlities?
@aurora13:
Do you know if Phonext (option set ring tone) is properly working with version.
Jeffrey
@valheru
I'm on the Dutch O2/Telfort network, and normally I got the "G". But not anymore since the .10 rom.
Haven't tested the .11 version and I got both versions I from netkim, so don't know anything about it.
@Goijers
I don't know, because I don't use that function of Phonext.
@Aurora13
Please, How about GPRS with ROM 4.00.16 ?
Somethings new :?:
Can not download new ROM -too many users
Waitting for Jeff Summers and Developers
Thanks :wink:
Is there a new radio version with this update?
Regards,
xnappo
I got both files and burned 'em. From where I'm sitting, it looks like the 4.00.16 says T-Mobile on the boot screen, but it doesn't seem to have any other T-Mobile features: even the STK.EXE (SIM ToolKit) application appears to be missing (it says so at startup, and the link in Programs is broken.
Was this ROM 'treated' before upload, or is this indeed a broken ROM ?
I don't know, I'm just the guy who host it
I installed the .16, but haven't noticed any difference. Toolkit?!? There's no toolkit in it and it didn't give any error about it nor does it have a link in the startup folder.
So that is strange...
Hey guys could we maybe :lol: get the new version of PocketMVP .8.082303 in the kitchen downloads, just wondering. Noticed it on their site the other day. Current version has problem playing certian mpeg files. This new version states solved all known problembs with WM2003.
Goes on my list...
If anyone makes a list of what files it installs, whether or not we still need different versions for WM2003 and PPC2002 and all registry settings needed (compared to what already in the kitchen), things will move quicker...
I can't for the life of me figure this PocketMVP thing out. Is this new version now for PPC2002 and WM2003, or are there still two versions needed?
And when I install this, I see that many files are much older than in previous versions...
Could someone do the research here?
hi there,
when i buy one of those phones, is it possible to dump the rom for a second one? or is it possible they protected it by a modified bootloader or something?
they also offer to download the sourcecode of the soft on this phone on there webpage. http://www.cryptophone.de > is it possible to compile to a installer?
When you do get one I would be interested to know if it can be dumped and used on a standard xda, now that would really be something. Maybe they use also some hardware modification?
for shure software only. but spezial cut windows version. possible or not? when the most here say yes and they help me with instructions i will buy one and share the dump!
Hello, I go to this - http://linuxtogo.org/~htcpxa/htcuniversal/index.html - webpage, and I find old version of Linux distribution. They all start on my QTek 9000, but I'm not able to make call with none of them (apparently for them there's no network...). So, do you know where to find newer versions, that might have better driver support? I'd also like to see more versions that would be able to run from image files, rather than partitions...
Thanks
P.S.: Of course I tried to contact the guys at linuxtogo.org, both by e-mail and by IRC, but so far I've had no answer...
Has the Touch HD hardware ever changed? IOW, would a recent purchase be the exact same hardware as when they first came out with updates only being in soft/firmware?
AFAICT, the THD comes with TouchFlo3D 2.1, but there are now 2.5 and even 2.6 versions kicking around that offer good reasons to want to upgrade. But how?
I see new ROMS that include later versions, but is it necessary to install an entirely new ROM? What does TF3D include? There's manilla.exe, but are there any other actual files? Would it not be possible to simply install a later version of manilla without having to change everything else?
Will 2.5 and 2.6 run on WM6(.1) or do they require 6.5?
Just trying to get a handle on potential upgrades (once I actually get hold of a THD - still looking).

There would be no hardware changes between first HD released and latest one. Only difference would be rom installed on device which would be an upgrade incorporating a few fixes. This would still be wm6.1.
Wm6.5 is only available through a cooked rom.
To upgrade to a new manila, you will need to flash a rom which has this available (generally a cooked rom). Only rom that I know of which has manila 2.5 on wm6.1 is Miri's. But it does appear to have some limitations due to incompatibilities between wm6.1 and manila 2.5.
Latest manila's are more touch friendly and also have landscape capabilities whereas earlier version did not.
Thanks for that, but why would you HAVE to install a new ROM just to update TouchFlo3D? If it IS just manilla.exe, then why not simply install that new file? OK, I guess there's a bit more to it, but why an entirely new ROM?
Manila isn't only manila.exe file: the UI has more then 1000 files... and it's stable if you flash ROMs.

PS: Manila 2.5/6 is a beta version quite slow and sometime freeze (I tried Miri ROM)
OK, sounds reasonable. But how can 2.5 still be beta if there's 2.6?
