Hi
I have a question as nooby as it might sound
I have My XDA Mini S and love it, but the desktop is pretty boring if i might say.
I have had things like Iluncher and stuff like that looks ok,
But i realy like the XP look you can get eXPerience its called
This is ONLY Windows 2003 Compatible, Is it worth installing WM3 on my phone just for this,
Or can anyone recomed a nice Skin that Gtes ride of the boring Start butten at the top and makes it look a little like XP
Or just something that Gives it that Wooooo and not Borining

no need for downgrading an entire OS for the look...u can get a program called Wisbar...u can do crazy things with it....

I have been at this solid for about 24 hours now
i was going to open another post but Oh well,
I have downloaded about 4 Skins and Added them all into one, Some skins there are things i love and others things i dont like.
Its almost looking perfect for what i want, But there was a few things i was stuck on.,
How can i have the Control Pannel (Settings) as a shortcut am trying to creat a docking section with Settings, Programs, Games, and Network on,
But Settings i cannot find it anyway Any Ideas

Oh yer sorry for the Double Post, But also
On the Today Screen you have a section for Messeges, I think thats great when i have a messege i can see 1 new messege or email etc
Is that possible to creat this as a shortcut??

no thats no it i just want to replace the little windows sign at the top left of the screen to the one that looks like the vista start in pc's

The only way I know of is wisbar advance 3

Ok, ok, ok.
Step 1: Install S2U2, this is the locking screen, first part of vid.
Step 2: Install Ultimate Launch ($$$) or iTask or iFonz or WisBar ($$$).
Step 3: Find all the graphics and customize the way you want. Each app is fully customizable, and would be quite easy to create this theme, the only obstacle is finding all the icons to match, unless you can make. There is also a forum dedicated to changing the slider and other graphics for S2U2.

Well I have the i760, and really like it, if your looking to fully upgrade, get an HTC, since your looking at the i760, you prob have Verizon, go with the XV6800.

Whoa!! Relax, of course you'll get help, that's a big reason for the forum.
The 4 apps I mentioned will be your main launcher, just browse thru and find which you like, many many people have created launchers and themes to replicate the i****e. But it seems you don't have the phone yet, so get that first, install the different apps, and mess around a bit. Find what works fastest and fits your style. Then from there you need to find the images, background and icons.

Quite a cool I phone looking app. How hard would it be for someone to make this a panel?

I guess really the question should be... Why don't you just buy an iPhone? My guess is this is just a today screen plugin, similar to TF3D. If that is the case, running it should be about the same at TF3D on the X1. I know some people in the Diamond forum were trying to get ifonz to work.

Well why not a iphone lookalike panel when the tf3d seems very popular,it´s all about to replace/complement the panels we already have onboard as i see it..

iphone is a nice phone and i cant say i havent put iphone like apps on my 6800 and thought about it for my tp but i thought again and whats the point i may as well have just gotten an iphone. its probably best to get apps from iphone (if at all possible) instead of the flashy looking ui. it gets boring after a while. not taking anything away from the people that develop those programs because its something i cant do and it amazes me. so keep up the good work but just not for me at least not for extended periods.

Does this install as a Today plugin or an app itself?
Oops... found the answer. It ain't a Today plugin. So guess it somehow replaces the today screen? And that why TS's there asking about if anyone can convert it to a panel?

I find this is a discussion worth picking up again! so has anybody put some thought to it?
I tried the latest version of ifonz ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436656) and it works pretty good with full landscape support and loads of customisation options.
Now ... I know nothing about programming .. but is it hard to make it come up as a panel?
The way it works now it is an .exe which u need to start manually (similarly to the T3D before the panel .cab came out) ... so what does it take to get a panel .cab for this little app?
I thought about contacting the author but then again I dont see why this should be his business ... he probably doesnt even have the Xperia!
So any ideas on this?

I'd think the one most able to come up with a panel for this at the moment should be the guy who did the panel for TF3D.

I tried installing the ifonz using the .exe but they mentioned about throwing an exception?

I've searched almost everywhere for an answer but have yet to find one. I still can't install iFonz on the XPERIA. I was wondering, do I download the files on the phone itself then run the exe (if that's possible) OR run it on the desktop/laptop with the XPERIA connected via activesync which I have been trying to do. But on my Laptop, I get an error that it has failed and on my desktop it says something about an exception.

no u are supposed to install it on the xperia ... maybe u r doing the same mistake that I did the first time I tried to install ... this may sound stupid but u need to copy the .zip onto your xperia and then actually extract the files before u can install them!
Reason I m saying this is because when u click on .zip after u copied it onto your xperia it will automatically change folder and show u a list of all the files that are in that .zip.
intuitively u would probably click the .exe right away however if u do this u get an error saying that the file cannot be installed for unknown reasons etc. if you however, extract the files to a folder of your choice then u can click the .exe and the installation works just fine
alternatively, u may just be needing to install microsoft net framework 3.5 which u can download for free on the microsoft website .. if you search this forum u will find a link to it ..

Okay, now that I have ifonz I realised that I don't like it. Worst of all, when I switch on my phone, it starts off in the ifonz page. And so I deleted the ifonz folder. But now, when I switch on my phone, they mention an error as they are unable to find ifonz.exe. How do I get rid of this annoying pop up?

wm 6.1 pro

hey guys im still kind of new to this stuff. but right now i have windows 6.1 on my wing and its nice. but i seen a video on youtube with a wing that had 6.1 pro and it was AWESOME so i would like to know is there anywhere i can go and get that? oh yea and by chance can i ever downgrade back to the reg windows that came with the phone? and if i can do i just go to tmobile.com/wmupgrade ans starr from there?

What you have is already a PRO version as it is meant for all touch screen pocket pc device. Maybe you saw a different GUI effects which may be like TouchFLO 2D or so. If you can give a link to the YouTube video, we shall give you the suggestions.

That is not a "version" of or an iphone theme. It's just a ROM that has a lot of things put together to look like that. Looks like they have the old HTCHome with a skin on it, a Windows Mobile skin and S2U2 with a skin. It looks like an older ROM, actually, but I like the red theming. I don't know what ROM it is exactly, though. Oh, and that menu system is a somewhat buggy software... I forgot what it's called. It's hacked from an italian phone, I believe...

I do also Ivan ,thanks for that non useful paragraph. but can ANYBODY ELSE HELP ME????? im trying to see if i can get wm 6.1 pro or is that not released or something? as far for the themes when i download then and save them they never show up under my themes. could it be that im doing it wrong? i have aserg 6.1? do this ROM not let me use other themes?

1. You're rude.
2. It is not WM6.1Pro. Did you at all read what I wrote? 6.1 was never officially released for this phone, we (yes, I and others) ported it to this phone.
3. If you're not seeing them, you ARE doing it wrong.
Seriously, dude. I take my time to try to help some and you try to bite at the hand that feeds you. I could have done what everyone else does and said, " Search, noob!" Because truthfully, the answers ARE there if you bothered searching for the right things.
I even TOLD you what programs are being used, btw. That's about as much help as you could ask for.
It's not a THEME only, it's a SERIES of program. Let's quote me:

Now, if you searched for HTCHome you'd get the program called: HTCHome. If you searched S2U2, you'd get the program called: S2U2.
