Wisbar Advanced 2 in my opinion. There are dozens of WM2005 skins (although most aren't really realistic... but there are two that almost exactly emulate WM2005 visually).
You can find some at Lakeridgesoftware's forums. Use the search function .
I'm currently using the Magneto theme by Juni. Is there another good one for Wisbar? What's the name please? I could not find it on the lakeridge forums.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have three skin with the name of magneto ( one of them has the least similarity tomagneto) but the problem is the rest of them are not designed for phone edition pdas..i mean without signal strength and headset indicator...do you know any solution to have the standard signal strength on current magneto themes...?
On Wisbar you mean? If they are Wibar themes, the best I can tell you is to post them here and I'll see if I can add the icons from another theme.

These are the Magneto Skins I have for wisbar...
Items i'm looking for are(the standard which are in the real magneto):
1-Signal Strength( Both Connected and in idle mode)
2-Headset Indicator(instead of bubble)
3-Available in Landscape Mode
4-Message notification indicator
If you could manage to add these i would be appreciated
The wm2005.zip skin looks more realistic than magneto16.zip(specially the x button) but the start button of magneto16.zip file has better resolution...
Can u post the image here?

Try the attached theme on Wisbar Advance 2. It has most of what you're requesting. Tell me how it goes
Alternatives - Advice please
I have used wisbar in the past but had problems with it.
All I wanted to do was replace the OK and close buttons, and update the jagged-looking Start menu icon. This is for my MDA COmpact aka Magician.
I've managed to do this by editing the dll in the Windows directory successfully.
I've attached an image.
Trouble is, I can only undo this by hard reset (not that I want to, now). I'd like a way to install the new DLL with a cab or something and make it undo-able.
Any suggestions?

So you want to hide your system tray?

Why? Because it useless and it ocupies a line of space that could be used by a today plugin!!!
TrayDisplay is what you need!!! Built with ATL C++, it comes in two files:
HideTray: that makes tour system tray invisible;
DisplayTray: that makes tour system tray visible!!
It makes a shortcut on your \Windows\StartUp folder so that everytime you reset your PPC, it will hide the tray!
When the file is run, it makes it's job and then end's so that it doesn't stay in memory.
This file is not a patch, but an application!
Only tested with Windows Mobile 2005, don't know if will work with WM2003...
OK,
nice idea but doesn't work on W2003 SE, at least not on mine. Also no effect after soft-reset.

I doesn't work on my 2003se device (Imate jam) either

well, please tell me, where you are running WM5 on Magician, when it doesn't exists?
or is this just posted in wrong forum?

I know I've seen another tool for hiding top-&bottom bars somewhere on the web. Cannot remember where, but it had to do with 'xx% larger screen'. As I don't mind having the bars I didn't pay much attention to it. I specially like the top bar with date/time & spb gprs icon. But taste is personally. So you'll have to search yourself when you really want this.

OK found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=27331&highlight=screen

He he...that's mildly spoken  With WA2 & WAD ( WAD is WA2 dependent ) you have total, and I do mean total control of your today-screen(s) and yes. you can have more than one... Now you can have all your favorite today plug-ins in each their own screen, full screen ! You can make your own short-cuts to any application, and place it anywhere, and that's only the beginning. The possibilities are endless, please do take a look

WAD and WA2 are two master pieces that will breath new life into your Pocket PC. The UI will look stunning if you get good skins and graphics .
Definetly agree with you, Flipside. Endless posibilities
Problem
The problem with these tools is they consume a lot of system resources and slow your machine down.

That's not entirely true anymore... Naturally the more you "fill" in, the more memory you lose, but it's def. not the program itself...But if you look at what you actually get here, the little memory you lose is a very small price to pay... ( I have like 16 different pages running, with dock and icons, plug-ins and text-objects, and the memory loss I can measure is app. 6 mb ) In my book that's nothing compared to what this program has to offer, my magician is almost stylus-free, and that's really neat when I'm in my car etc...

Not sure if THIS POST will help, but it gives the command lines for pretty much every Control Panel entry (i.e. everything under Start | Settings)....
There is a link to the today screen which you should be able to use in a shortcut on one of your menus....
HTH,
Mark.
mmm..
Read the wiki maybe you find answers:

Unfortuantely, the "Today" item there is for opening up the Today Screen Settings. I was trying to find such a "shortcut" myself a while back, and never did come up with anything. At this point, I think it can only be done programmatically, by "minimizing all running apps". I haven't looked, but there's probably a pretty simple Windows API call for that.
Similar to what a couple of other suggestions here have been, there is probably some alternative that you can use to get to the Today Screen easily. I use Wisbar Lite, and as such, I lose the Double Click the Windows Button, and simple Menu->Today features. But I found I can configure Wisbar Lite to give me pretty easy access. I also believe it was SPB Pocket Plus that gave me link that I use to program my PPT button to go to the Today Screen on a quick press. Don't know where exactly, that link really is, so I can't investigate how it's actuially done.
Maybe some of the above will help you?

Guys thanks for all the suggestions and links...
i have done something else and its so good now...
@Mark Crouch thanks for the link, i am sure those short cuts are pretty handy..
@jlopez0978 reading wiki did not help .. i usually go there first before i post
SO this is what i did...
there is a program from " CHRIS" of the lakebridgesoftware forum
http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11394&page=3
see the post no. 29......
this program will toogle to the desktop... and its graphics are good like htc touch......
i made a link to this program to one of the hardware button( PTT) and now i can toggle to desktop with one key press

Good find!!!
I've installed it on my Hermes now too - you're right, it works great!!!
Cheers,
Mark.

Yes, it is called the sytem tray.
Have a search for Traylaunch or BatteryStatus, both of these allow you to place links to programs in the tray. The tray is right alligned and only displays small icons.
Claunch is more tweakable but you may struggle to place it at the bottom of the screen without using other fixed height today plugins.
