To start out, I bought my Herald from a girl on the Tmobile network, she didnt know if it had been simunlocked or not, however I knew I could switch it over. I myself have ATT, and I gave it a shot, put the simcard in without any programming of any sort, number or settings, and it works! However.. Problems arose.
A. When I start up my phone from either soft reboot or powering on after turning it off, it sends me a text message from number 1121611611 saying "453 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit number or short cod 06050415CC15CC60D8" and I have sent nothing, this only occurs on startup however. And at any time after sending a text, and right before receiving a text, it displays my balance from ATT "i have pay as you go".
How would I possibly find, and stop, the problem with the 453 error? And the notification, any way to quit that?
B. I am using TCPMP player for videos, and SUPER for encoding them. When I watch videos, a majority of the time, it starts out well with sound and no skippting, but about 30 seconds into the video the sound cuts off, and the video starts to freeze, and pick up, randomly spouting off audio at certain points before it freezes again. How can I fix this?
I do very much appreciate the time.

Hey, I've been lurking these forums for a while but I thought I'd come on to ask a question. I tried asking on sprintmogul.net but they didn't really help.
I've had my mogul for a few months but lately it's been developing a really annoying problem. I'm really not sure where it started exactly so I can't blame any apps in particular. When I receive a call the caller ID / ring and vibrate go off perfectly - the problem happens when I try to answer the call. Generally one of three things happens:
1 - The call connects instantly and just works - this happens pretty rarely, I remember the last time it happened the person calling was also on Sprint, if that makes any difference.
2 - The phone will just sort of hang there for about 10 seconds, caller ID popup still there, the ring stops though. Eventually the popup disappears and I get a missed call notification, as if I never clicked the answer button. This is what usually happens.
3 - The phone hangs like in situation 2, but the call eventually connects. This only happens if I press answer almost immediately after the phone starts to ring.
I'm on winMo 6.1 with the latest radio and am not running any major mods or hacks, just a few reg edits. I'll probably try a hard reset soon but ideas on things to try would be appreciated!
I am seeing this also, on both my own xv6800 and my wife's. It's VERY annoying.
I have observed one thing..whenever there is a short missed call and my phone is in locked state..it wakes up in 3-4 sec..if this call happens to be a missed call (only 1-2 rings heard on the caller's end), my phone doesnt recognize that number (even if it is present in my contacts) neither it shows which number i missed...so frustrating..any body else experienced this?
any workaround? i tried many registry tweaks posted on internet, nothing helped..hard reset my phone..but problem still there..
Same problem here, I suppose it's a bug on Phone part of the ROM, maybe it will be fixed in future versions. I try all the CPU performances and the problem persist.
It takes a little bit of time before the caller ID number comes through and get matched to your contact list. Depending on how many contacts you have on your list, it may also take a bit longer to find a match in a long list. So if your caller calls and ends call shortly, then the match may not be completed. It's not a bug.
But when my screen is on..i dont see this issue at all, i have checked many times giving as short call as i could..
i issue comes when the device is locked..so i think while waking the device up it takes long and there somehow it doesnt activate the callerid service, so the unknonw caller issue occurs..
When your screen is locked, your phone is in sleep mode. So it takes longer time to wake up first, then receive the call.
Hello all,
I purchased my HD2 on release day and so far I love it. For the most part the phone has been problem free and everything works perfectly. However recently I ran into a few issues.
1) When playing music with Windows Media player or the Music Player I will sometimes get odd skipping in songs. I looked at my screen and the microphone symbol at the top of the screen was blinking like crazy and I could hear a voice asking me to repeat commands again. I believe it was the voice dialing feature. One time it actually called someone. My phone started dialing out in the middle of a song and I had to pull the battery to make it stop calling people.
2) Text messaging.. The text messaging app has some serious bugs. Hopefully there is an update or a better solution out there. Some of the problems I have with texting are: Phone goes to a crawl when a text comes in, when typing texts it will just stop showing what I am typing. I have to click all around the window and sometimes can get it to come back up. If I cannot get my text to come back I have to close the app down and then go back in.
3) I am not sure if this is related to the sms app or not but I tried to edit a contact and the phone become incredibly unstable. It restarted itself and when sense loaded it popped up a message saying that swipe was not designed for my phone type. After that reboot my phone acted up a lot until I restarted it about 6 times. Then it was stable but the texting app was worse than ever.
I did a bunch of google searches and couldn't come up with any fixes for these issues. So any input would be welcome.
My phone is stock. I have no interest in flashing a new rom. I blame all these problems on sense (WinMo actually seems perfect despite what the uneducated spew across the net daily).
Thanks for reading
1) Sounds like you're simply activating the MSVC, which is done buy a long press off the send key (you're probably accidentally long pressing the 'play/send' button on the headphones.
Two solutions: 1) Simply disable MSVC (Settings>personal>Voice Command; Uncheck Enabled) 2) Be more careful so you don't accidentally press the button.
2)Just click the text input area (just above the keyboard where the text is suppose to be) and everything you typed will show up and continue to show up.
3) Never heard or seen this.
I don't know how much stuff/time you've put on/into this phone, but you might want to consider a hard reset.
Thank you for your response:
I was not using the headphones. I had it connected to my stereo in my Jeep. The HD2 was sitting alone on the seat next to me with nothing around it. It's done it several times now - so I don't think it was anything environmental.
Clicking in the text area used to work fine but not anymore. I have to click the last text message that came in and it will open a option menu, close that and then click in the open text area several times. This started happening once I tried to edit my contacts and my phone lost it's mind.
I don't want to do a hard reset but it might have to come to that. I have all the apps I like installed and everything seems to be working nicely with those few exceptions.
Ohh and one last complaint. Slacker >< why does it stop playing songs so much? I read other people were having problems with that too but I cannot seem to find any fix. Should I just give up on it and go to Pandora?
Hello everyone,
It's been 4 weeks now since I own the HD2. It's quite a beast, I love it. Except there seems to be an issue with my device when it comes to sound (anything: mp3, youtube, ringtones, alarms, even the sound played when you take a photo): it crashes. No matter what I do, no matter when (idle or in use), it makes it crash.
I did the test and couldn't have the phone being used with sound in the same session for more than 4 hours in a row, or it would crash. Sometimes, after a fresh reboot, the first incoming message, leading the phone to play a ringtone to tell me I got a new message, would make the phone crash. Instantly (sound wouldn't play at time, or just the first half-second would play and then nothing or infinite replay of the first 0.5 sec of the sound - quite annoying btw).
So I move to vibration only. And tada! No more crashes. The phone has been up for more than 160 hours now and it never crashed. I used 20MB of my data connection, sent 55 SMS, received tons of emails (like over 200), used the phone functionality for about 150 minutes and everything works fine. Took countless amount of photos and everything just works.
BUT! I miss the sound! I want it. I can't use the phone as an alarm when I'm on a business trip! I can't hear a ringtone when the phone is left on the kitchen table and I'm in the living room (vibrate does the work when the phone is in my pocket or when I'm in a meeting, which doesn't happen a lot).
How can I know if the issue is hardware or software related? Is there something I could install to trace a crash and see what is going wrong? Sometimes, I can use the phone with sound for a couple of hours and other times the very first sound would make it crash. How can I fix this without have to return my phone (bought it in China, wish I could get a replacement but now I'm back in Montreal/Canada).
is your phone branded? where did you buy it?

I have tried uninstalling the SRS WOW application but i does not help.
When booting into Froyo Android v2.2 it doesn't crash but the sound is distant somehow. I can listen to mp3 songs but the vocals will often disappear.

In my brand new Samsung Omnia W (Focus Flash), i have discovered wierd issue. When I have headphones connected, there is huge lag when I start doing something that makes sound. It doesnt matter whetrher I play game or write text.
I have idle phone phone and start typing - lag. Screen freezes for a while, about a second, then oudio aoutput is being activated (you can start hear little noise) and phone continues to work, promptly filling text written when freezed.
When I continue typing, there is no this issue anymore cause audio output is still on. But if I pause writing and continue about 2 seconds after, there is lag again, as oudio output is turned off in the meanwhile.
Is it WP7 issue, Samsung Issue, Focus Flash issue or what?
Idk, I don't seem to have this issue on mine...btw, we need a dedicated section for this phone NAO!
I have found another user with same issue with this phone in my city. So its not my phone only, but still cant find out more info about it.
