Dear Sir,
This problem occurred when I was listening to radio and I received a phone call. Then after I removed the headset speakers there was no sound from the speakers neither the mic worked.
My O2 XDA ATOM EXEC has gone in the Radio Mode. .i.e the speakers (both ear, above screen and the stereo speakers, bottom) and the mic are not working. the FM is on even without the headset and i can speak or receive the phone only via the wired 3.5mm jack Headset and mic.
The Stereo speakers are on only when i put the FM radio speaker on.
Some one suggested a Hard Reset or also pluggin and unplugging the Headset while keeping the Fm Radio Speakers on till it says the Headset is required for the radio to function. (it comes to normal now avoid using the headset!!
But still it is not working!!
Please guide me to a solution; I even performed the Hard reset still the phone is in Radio mode.
I have not upgraded the ROM. should i do that people say it reduces the ringtone volume?
Regards
Anubhav

I had the exact same problem you did. I fixed mine by very gently running a paperclip around the inside of the audio jack. Problem Solved!!!

Thanks Novice Boy
i tried the paper clip idea and it worked.
About 5mm inside the earphone jack, on the side closest to the USB port, you can feel a small 'bump' (lets call it the g-spot!) as you run over it with the paper clip. Do this with an MP3 playing or something and voila.....the music comes out of the speaker again and the phone rings, i can talk to people again. Seems there is a fault in recognising whether the earpiece is plugged in or out as many have suggested.
MT
i used the paper clip and slowly runned it around the Phone jack and the voice in the system came back!!

Hi i've been coming on here for a while but have never found the need to register or post, but today i discovered something i thought i could share with ya.
Currently i use a pair of phillips earphones with a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptor to listen to music on my qtek s100, anyway i was boppin away listenin to my tunes when i recieved a call from the mrs, i obviously unplugged the earphones and tried to answer the call but unfortunately the phone was stuck in hands free(sumthing to do with the switch being stuck), anyway i was desperate needed to talk to the mrs so i plugged the earphones back in to see if i could hear her & @ that moment i realised that she could hear me even with the earphones if i used one earphone as an earpiece & the other as a microphone.
Sorry if someones discovered this before, i did a search but couldn't find anything, & i just wanted to share with my fellow magician enthusiasts.
sayonara
Well it works.. but it's not the earphone ...
apparently, the mike that is located near the mini USB port still works even when the earphone are plugged in...
I noticed one more thing.. when I make the call, other party can hear me, but the opposite is not true
cheers
Does anybody know the wiring diagram for the supplied headset?
Wolfgang
Sorry wolfgang, this is just a bump and not an answer. I'd also like to know if anyone's investigated the headset. What I'd like to be able to do (and I've never even *seen* the headset yet, still stuck in the hell of trying to obtain an Exec, see other threads) is use the microphone / button from the headset with a different pair of headphones.
I assume you mean the plug wiring? I've not had time to double-check this yet, but I believe it's the same as my Jornada 928 mic/stereo-headset.
Reading from the tip of the plug:
Plug tip: Left ear piece (short cable on the Jornada)
1st ring: Right ear piece (long cable on the Jornada)
2nd ring: Microphone
Top ring: Ground
When it arrived, I briefly tried the Jornada headset in the O2 Exec, and it worked in both ears, but I didn't check the left/right orientation. Until my Jabra BT500 bluetooth headset arrived, I was also using a self-modified (re-plugged) Plantronics single-ear headset with the tip and 1st ring linked to give mono, and that works without problems.
I suspect the standard headset shorts one of the signal lines to ground to give the answer/end function, but don't know which one.
HTH
Hey Astage can you tell me the Headset you using with single headset?
I am not heavy music listener, and I want a wired headset with single speaker ...
I will check plantronics sites also...
Please update me with the model which works fine with Wired Single Headset.
dont forget that you can use completely normal headphones in the Jasjar, this means (as posted Astage) meaning the ring that is the odd one out, compared to normal headphones, is used for both the Mic and the button. If nokia's are anything to go by the button will switch in a resistance of a certain value to indicate it has been pressed (this is because if the Mic is a coil mic it will already read as 0 ohms, a straight short to ground)
Mniko: Unfortunately this will not help you - I have the Plantronics M130 - however, as I said, I had to wire a different plug onto it.
The problem is that most single-ear headsets come fitted with a 3-ring 2.5mm diameter plug, wired as:
Plug tip: Microphone
1st ring: Ear-piece
Top ring: Ground
The Exec/Universal and other microphone+stereo headsets seem to use a larger 4-ring 3.5mm plug wired as per my earlier message. Because of the different wiring for the microphone signal you cannot just use a 2.5 to 3.5mm converter - even if you can find one. The situation is made worse if the headset (e.g. Plantronics) has a microphone sensitivity switch built into the plug, as you may need to also transfer this into the new plug.
Ice_coffee: Thanks for the update - saved me having to cut mine open.
yes I understand.... the prob is 2.5 & 3.5mm... I dont think any headset available around 3.5mm with mic and single headset, that made me to cut off the second speaker, which I already did...
I found one on http://pc-mobile.net/pxdaa.htm
But they dont seems to have it anymore... I really wonder how come HTC didnt thought of it... after all universal is a phone to rite?
Ok well, using my multimeter and some maths I figured out that
1) Under normal circumstances the jasjar sees the mic as a 1000 ohm load
2) It knows when you have pressed the button because the load drops from 1000 ohms to a mere 45 ohms
3) you could acheive this by putting an 47ish ohm resistor on a switch in parallel with the mic, using this info you can construct a working headset from almost any headset on the market, most notably the many many headset/mic combos available for PC's
Does anyone know if such a device exists?
I want a clip type bluetooth headset with an LCD display and instead of hard wired in ear headphones a 3.5mm or 2.5mm headphone socket so I can use headphones of my own choice?
Regards
doesn't exist but it would be a piece of piss to modify a nokia HS-12w when they become available
yes, and i am using it.
it works fine. It's from QOOL.

Hello,
can you please tell me if you have any plans to manufacture your Bluetooth
Claller ID Handsfree with the A2DP protocol for stereo, and still keep
Caller ID display and a headphone socket for both mono, 1 ear piece and
stereo, twin ear piece.
I am a member of the XDA Developers forum and would like to post your reply
to the forum for other interested people to see.
Thankyou
Simon
Dear users,
I've been using my Qtek 9100 for over a year now, but since yesterday my headset-output quit
I've been to the PhoneHouse nearby, and asked for a BT.headset to listen to my mp3's. I liked the headset that goes around the ear (just 1 speaker), but they told me i't didn't work with music.
Has anyone tried this out? Any comments for me, what to buy etc?
- No cords and just ONE speaker (not with the big thing on my head)
Thanks for your assistance!
Just got my x10 few days ago.
was trying to link it to my car via bluetooth.
I have a 09 mazda 6
the bluetooth hands free and aduio works well with my previous device, which is x1.
but for x10, it shows that link is successfull, but when i play the music, there is no sound comes out from the car's speaker at all.
so then I tried with hands free, so i make my frd to call me, the display of the car does show the number, but when i picked up the phone call, my frd's voice wont come out from the car's speaker as well, it comes out on the phone's speaker, during the main time, both car's mic and the mic in the phone, wont get my voice, my frd didnt hear anything.
my other frd, which owns a 09 arcura tsx have the exactly same problem with me.
does anyone else have the same problem with me ?

I have the same issue with my connectors in my car (mercedes benz 09 12V) hands-free and stereo syncs with the X10 but does nothing at all. I think this is in particular a bug to be fixed with the Android update. I dont really mind since I use the carĀ“s system to bump it up.
hopefully the 2.1 will fix this, thks bro.
Connection to car audio system via auxiliary cable
Hi, I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
I tried to connect my X10 via auxiliary cable to my car's audio system and I am able to hear music through my car speakers but if I want to use this method to call someone I can hear the ringing and the other person through car speakers but they cannot hear me, even if I speak directly to the phone's mic. The only way they can hear me if I unplug the auxiliary cable from the phone. Does anyone know if there's a solution to this ? Thanks,
i have nissan 370z touring with bluetooth. works fine my with car. shows phone number and i can place calls and receive calls fine.
Hi - I've got a few bluetooth options - A retro fit bluetooth kit integrated into the car stereo for my work phone - which work with my X10 too.. A sun visor mounted blue tooth kit.. which works fine.. and a jabra bluetooth headset.. which also works fine.. !!
Sorry for that.
The bluetooth works for me very well in my car. Renault Megane '09

Hi
I connect to a Parrot 3100 with no real issues. I did get better performance when putting the latest firmware on my parrot.
The issues I DO have is from the key lock. If its on, I have many issues with phonebooks, answering calls and ending them.
cheers

To fix this you need to plug in the sony adapter that came with your phone, then plug in your auxiliary cable to that adapter then your car system. The x10 doesn't recognize mic that aren't manufactured by Sony, so they have to pass through the adapter for someone to hear you on the other end.
I am trying to use my x10 with nokia's bluetooth carkit 7w. I get an connection, then it disconnects, shows its connected on the top of the screen, but i'll be buggered if it is. I have to reboot the phone to get it to connect, and then o repeat the sequence of events. If this is a compatibilty issue, can anyone recomend a carkit?
X10 connected to Toyota Prius hands-free with no problem. But turn on X10's bluetooth before turning on your car.
Sound like most of you guys showing off your car more fine
My bluetooth have the same problem (chrysler pacifica 06) and locale suck as i have to flip on the phone for bt to turn on.
