Now i knwo that there is already a thread for WWP and that some problems have been fixed, but i have replied numerous times on the thread and got no response, maybe because nobody has seen it so i am asking here.
On the HTC Diamond (Not Pro) there is no Up/Down and so it is impossible for people to aim where to shoot, and this has not been fixed in any thread i have found so i am asking for someone with hex editing skills to achieve this, as seen in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296263&page=3 and other threads, people have mapped keys to buttons via hex editing to make WWP compatible with their device. And so because of this i propose we make it fully compatible with the Diamond!
Buttons:
Volume Up: Jump
Volume Down: Backflip
Center Button: Fire
End Call: Aim Higher
Start Call: Aim Lower
Now this should be pretty easy to do for any Hex novice as most of the button ID's are in that topic link i posted earlier, and the other ones should be found in this forum.
I hope that someone can do this so i can enjoy WWP without thinking i should've got the Touch Pro and also that this will also help all the other users out there unable to aim!

Yes it does, BjornH18 is right, I started that thread, and the game works fine.
around the centre button is the control you just have to get used to where it is..

Obviously he is using FPSECE by using the Touchscreen buttons on the right, but he does use the wheel, too.
The wheel doesn't seem to do anything for me, what rom are you using or is there something im missing? :S
I've tried rubbing my finger around the wheel, holding on it at certain locations and got nothing
EDIT: On that YouTube video, i tried using the wheel how he does but still nothing
EDIT2: Which WWP version do you have? Maybe that's it, i have 1.0.4

Firstly, don’t tell me what I did or didn’t do. I did read your post and gave you the correct game save.
Secondly, I suggest you read the manual for your phone.
Thirdly, Up is between the home and pick up icons (Press until it clicks don't just touch – it is a button).
Fourthly, Down is between back and hang up icons (Press until it clicks don't just touch – it is a button).
If you still cant figure it out then either your phone is faulty or you have some other issue!

And i've also found two more buttons, above and below the wheel too, oops.
Great,

Does anyone maby know where to get that game(Art of Fighting)? Or is it just a GBA Rom game? If so, where can I get a GBA immulator for the Diamond?

I tried to play Worms for mobile but i only have one button working, the pad is not responsive... so i can't play
Is there a solution ?
I just wanted to ask the same question...
Can't map any buttons, except the camera.
Are there any ideas?
Here is a start: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296263&highlight=worms
Now we have to find how to set FIRE to the Center Pad button
Hex editor friends, you are welcome here
yeah, i want to play worms too.. plz someone do us the favor
I tried the metod from Valentin.H's link.
I got the following keycodes:
0xd (13)) center pad
0x72(114) green
0x73(115) red
0x75(117) slider up
0x76(118) slider down
0xC2(194) camera
As you see, the center pad gives some weird code. Don't know why.
I hex'ed the codes into my WWPSave.dat.
But resuts are not exactly satifying.
Green and red buttons are not working.
But at least I managed to remap camera button to shoot, instead of jumping
I guess we just have to wait for a fix, playing at increased difficulty with no jumps.

Play Worms!
The phonebuttons and the Centre-D Button don't work in the game
I use the slider buttons for Jump & Backflip and the camera button for Fire.
This works ok for me.
I've edited the dat file to make the slider buttons work in the game.
Just copy the attached WWPSave.dat to you Worms installation folder, overwriting the existing one and you're ready to rumble.
Cheers!

You´re welcome and you´re right, Worms is a great game, but a network multiplayer mode would be nice.
Being overwelmed by the sleek look of the touch, I never realized that we´d run into problems with key assigment for games e.g. Worms.
I tried several programs to create virtual buttons and even reassigned de phone buttons and the slider button, with no success.
Luckily someone else (sorry forgot the name) on this forum informed us of an existing workaround to assign buttons in Worms by using a Hex editor on the savegame file.
Altough the instructions were not totally correct and our phone does have less assignable buttons, I managed to assign the slider button for Jump and Back-Flip.
Enjoy the game.

I want the game but cannot get a working version for wm6
anyone please email me with a 'solution' of the game please

Thank you very much
Yes multiplayer would be perfection !
By the way, if you don't know the game Cavemen, you really should try it, it's a Lemmings-like but better ! You can glide or jump and also the touch screen is matter. Pretty addictive game like Worms with thousands of levels
wow, you guys had to go thru all of that just for 1 game..

i cant open the option to edit the keys to use the slider using boogiemans saved file. it closes the game when i try to do this.
That's weird, i can, but it's not a problem at all because you don't need to open that menu, it's useless on the Touch, Boogieman's file is all that matters
i replaced the file but it still cant work. =(
Alright Peeps, ok, firstly i bought a Charmer (MDA Compact 2 / WM5) it was pink and i decided to change the housing/shell. I opted for the O2 XDA NEO Case as i liked the black, smooth sides, chrome earpiece & Buttons. I know your all thinking why, but i've tried it and every part fits perfectly apart from the button arrangement, I was just wondering if i bought a O2 XDA NEO Keypad which has the exact same connection type as the MDA Compact 2 just the extra 2 buttons, could this work out of the box and recognise all buttons or at least the usual 4 buttons work correctly?, or is there, or could one be made, an application that the buttons could be assigned? please any help would be appreciated, as i love modding my charmer from the wise information within XDA-DEV, your the only site i'd look to for honest answers.
Cheers Bren.
just an opinion, don't go spending money because of it
but from my experience doing similar things with htc smartphones, I reckon it should work, but i doubt it will recognise the extra buttons...
maybe with a cooked ROM?...i don't know.

could there not be some registry tweaks? like adding the buttons manually and moving the others?
i have a button remapping software, but this may be more useless than usefull, i think (it'll probably just move the buttons around) i've bought the shell already and fitted it all buttons work and are in correct place, just the keypad... I'll buy the keypad and fit it coming up to christmas, i'll let you all know the outcome, so if there is any charmers that wish to charm with a prophet/XDA NEO case to the full, i will have the answer.
Any ROM Chefs or Registry Raiders? Help would be appreciated here...
or just shine a little light on the subject.
I think the person who might be able to shed some light is vlodeck, he is a very knowledgeable guy, and he ported gullum's ROM from prophet to charmer

as a mod, he will probably see this thread anyway, and his time is valuable etc etc, so I am definitely not advocating pestering him
....so wait a while but in case it gets missed, FYI in his sig there is a link to PM "if you need help"
*edit, I have no new information right now so I'm not gonna bump this thread but I have to say...
just saw your other thread, and the one word answer;
rtfwplsthx
made me spit coffee all over my monitor as I LOL'd
(translation - read the f***ing wiki please, thanks.)
I understood it, as I've probably spent too much time reading forums like this one recently
Hi guys
I finally read this thread Yes, I do check up the Charmer forums from time to time.
Ok, as to the question. I don't really do the cooking stuff at this time. Basically because I'm not a windows user anymore but there are registry values for soft keys and buttons. I won't tell you were it exactly is right now, but it's there. And taking myself a little in the past I recall some major problems with setting up the keys in WM6 for charmer, you remember it right? Those calendar and contacts buttons were assigned to Start Menu and OK keys, which were unconfigurable, in the registry at least. So my call is, those buttons you want to make work are hardly worth the potential time spent to actually get them working
Hi, the buttons you had trouble with kinda goes with what i want, like you said the bottom two buttons (calendar/contacts) were start menu and ok, as the keypad for the o2 xda neo has start menu and ok as standard bottom two, so that doesn't need changing (that sound like a bonus to me ) the top two will probably get recognised as the answer/endcall buttons (which is not that bad come to think of it, if buttons cannot be configured). its just the two silver answer/endcall present on the xda neo keyboard which probably wont get recognised, and if not, would there be a way in the registry to ADD them, so it would be a little different than altering settings already there? sort of copying all registry settings for one button and adding it alongside another button setting with some configuration.
Thanks Guys...
Well the Buttons worked straight away, charmer to prophet (lookalike)... all the 6 buttons were recognized instead of 4, and all in the right places. thanks anyway.
I have a Sprint Touch and it only has one hardware button that is customizable. I was hoping with HButton I would be able to map the Send and End key if I pressed and held these buttons to do different tasks.
Is this possible with this program? If not, is there a way to do it?
I think you might be in luck....

Actually the "Bible" also mentions AE Button Plus. This will allow mapping of almost any key including a long/short press for both the send & end keys.
It's a retail proggy, don't remember the cost, but I have a fairly new Beta version if you want to give it a go & test it . PM me for details if you wish.
This is for a different phone and you may not have the same files/configs, but hell, might be worth a try.

If you push the button on the microphone which comes with the X1, it answers a call. If you push it twice it seems to call the last person you called.
Is there a way to use this button to invoke the Voice Command monitor?
Thanks
I found it easier just to re-direct the Soft Buttons!!
Left for Voice Command, Right for Comm Manager
Stuart
Yep, that's exactly what I have. Best set-up by far.
But when in the car, it would be easier to use the mic button, so I'd like to double up on Voice Command access.
So.. no-one else has managed this either?

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"Path"="\\Windows\\<what ever program>.exe"

Beside the "push once', and "double push", a "push & hold" action will call this exe such as Voice commander in my example.

Do you read? Of course it does if you are talking about the button in the pic
If you "hold" the button, yr X1 will call the exe program specified in this registry. X1 stock rom does not comes w/ any VC program and you have to install one yrself. Of course, if you put in other program like Core player, it will be start if you hold the button.

Firstly, where have I been rude? Secondly, this has nothing to do with searching. I would challenge you to find a single thread on this subject anywhere else on the whole internet, started before this one. If you're going to criticise at least make some of the criticism partially relevant.
Jackleung, thanks for the solution, but in response to your manner, if you post an arbitrary reg key (a key which has no logical connection to the described solution) and which doesn't work if the instructions are followed (due to the wrong syntax), you should expect for that solution to be met with scepticism.
Coming bach to the original topic:

There are two different ways for the X1, to remap the soft keys. One is via the button settings in the windows settings, which is a global override which causes the buttons not to behave as softkeys anymore, and the other is via registry setting (have a look into the Wiki here), that maps specific applications to the softkeys while in today view - this way, the softkeys stay available in all other applications. I personally prefer the last approuch, because I don't like fingerprints on my screen.

No, this only works with mortplayer as you need the possibility to change the track via an exe file or at least an exe with a parameter (like in my script)...If you find a way to do this with the media panel (which i doubt you will ) we could have it...otherwise not.

Dear developers,
I have a kind of sickness called reading.
So I bought this lovely monster but despite I have installed the "friendly" showcase I have some problem in reading using my dictionary(slovoed)
To switch on the fly between album(I have scanned books..lovely) and slovoed, or slovoed and ubook/ereader/foxit reader/adobe/opera I have to push the windows hardware button and then tap on the application. Now the problem arise because I read always in my leisure and I have to follow the procedure outlined above every day thousand times!
I thought that could be really usefull if I could use the volume up and down as in windows xp we have alt+tab.
Ok I am aware that I could install a button hardware sw, but the problem would be that assigning to an hardware button the launch of the task manager, then I have to tap the application i am looking for. Anyway I would remember with opera is not pratical to use a classical showcase tsk manager because you have to tap before to obtain the external gui.. and furthermore it is not pratical at all do not use switch between the wi fi and roaming having the task manager inserted on default
thanks

mmh thanks but it is a waste of time to write on the screen when I could switch with the apps with the volume, I think it is really pratical, and to be honest I can not figure out why none thought about that. Erm.... His answer is NOT a waste of time. It is almost exactly what you have asked for and will 100% solve the problem that you have proposed. Can you please tell us why it HAS TO BE the volume buttons that flip applications? You told us that you want to switch between 2 different apps, back and forth, and the answer given above does exactly that. Please give a different suggestion as to the use of volume buttons, rather than an impractical one.

I apologize! I will try the software recommended. anyway I have monitored an other issue, when I switch applications especially with the notes, that I love to use jointly to swaype, unfortunately for some reason the keyboard change to the default one, that for me has less effectiveness than swype that instead it is really cool to write notes on the fly of the document I suppose to read.
cheers dear chap, good for you that do not need a dictionary to look up English words like me . Anyway I have to consider that also when I open my books scanned on album when I switch I have tracked some issues, being the page focused not the one I have formerly open, but the total thumbnails/previews.
OT btw I apologize also for my English, just one year of practice

I've just installed the free AE Button Plus and I note that there is an Alt Tab function which you could assign to a hardware button on the HD2.
Better yet, just assign each of your many programmes that you mentioned above (slovoed/ubook/ereader/foxit reader/adobe/opera) to different buttons and you can launch any programme you want instantly - directly. No need to cycle through Alt Tab to find the programme you want.
You may ask - HD2 does not have enough buttons for each and every programme I use? Well, AEBPlus recognises single button press as well as double, triple and long hold button presses meaning that each button can have up to 4 assigned actions. There are some restrictions to this though - see the above forum.
Hope this helps!
