Hi guys...
I'm on T-Mobile UK, and I'm having problems with GPRS. I did have this working on ppc 2002 (XDA Dev 1.2)... After upgrading to ppc2003 I just can't seem to get GPRS working (Get a "Cannot connect" error).
Can anyone recommend a good/working radio stack for T-Mobile UK, and possibly provide some linkage... Thanks
Confirming you also upgraded the radio stack? If so what was the radio stack version before you upgraded it?
Hey Qman... It was version 4.01, and after upgrading to 4.21 from O2 it killed off GPRS. I _think_ the reason maybe because 4.21 uses class 8 GPRS, which T-Mobile may not support.

Ok try changing your band from the boot loader and see if that helps.
Warning: Going into boot loader mode under WM 2003 will result in a hard
reset so backup your system first.
HTH
First thing I tired, no joy... Although not that it matters now...

I read you post, now can you explain how you broke it?
I ask this question because there is always hope of repair!
hehe... Well I was doing a radio upgrade, and the phone restarted (as normal.. you know where you get the white screen and the percentage bar)... But I left the SD card in, and it came up with "Do you want to format...", but this seemed to crash it, and the device locked totally... I soft-reset... and then it just came up with the O2 bubbles, but rather than saying R <version number> at the bottom in red.. it just showed an R..
After about 4 minutes of hanging at the o2 bubbles, the device looks like it tries to carry on with the radio upgrade, the screen goes white, and a blue bar appears at the top of the screen. You can also see the little keyboard icon in the bottom right corner. But thats all.. Theres no writting, or detail anywhere on the screen. If I keep pressing the volume button, the today screen will appear, although where the start menu is, its obstructed by a blue bar.
Any ideas? lol
Yep - buggered, isn't it
Only had it for about a week lol
Oh well, time to buy another one

I have been having the exact situations like yours. Keep pressing on and off the volume button following the G and R (empty protocol & Radio staock versions), until you see the empty white screen with empty blue bar. It's not easy, but it's possible to get back the blue bar with all working menus. (my experiences count: 2 out of 20 unsucessful tries; yes, I have spent 5 agonizing days).
See other postings that I made...

If this works... I'll buy you a beer 8) hehe
Okay, I can get the volume control and today to appear on the screen, by pressing the volume/record button on the device, and tapping where the speaker icon should be... Although the blue bar is still going across the top of the screen, going over the top of where the Start menu should be... How do I do it, so it drops down the start menu?
Thanks
YESSSS I FIXED IT
After I got to the today screen, I used the repair.zip method, and it worked!!! I'm a v.happy man
good for you..
but i have not been so lucky... I don't know why..
it could be that I accidentallyselected the GSM1900 band after I upgraded to TMobile WM2003 4.01.00. Then the phone stopped working then the unsuccessful RSUpgrade etc. etc.
Damn these XDAs!!!
Hi i cant seem to enable the vireless netowrk on my i-mate jasjar. It worked in the beginning but now it just blinks realy fast when i press the button to enable it.
The only thing i can think of is that i installed the extended rom thing from buzz...it was that cab file i found in the comments on his site.
pls can anybody help me with this?
Please help me ppl. I tryed reverting the settings for the extended rom and that did not help eather.
Please i really need som help here guys
I had my wifi stop working at one point for unknown reasons. Soft resetting didn't fix the problem. It did start working again after a hard reset. It was not doing any fast blink like you describe, so it may be that whatever your problem is has no relation to whatever my problem was. I don't know if you have tried hard reset, but in any event I'm hoping one of the wizards here will have better advice for you.
Hehe by fast blinking i mean when i press the "wifi" button in the wireless manager. It just blinks breafly to indicate that i pressed it..but it does not turn blue like its suposed to and it does not turn wifi on like its suposed to.
Had hoped i wouldnt have to do a hard reset as i have my device set up just perfectly now
So if anybody has some tips here ill try anything.
btw what is sddeamon? i had sevreral of thouse in the notification que and i remoced all but one. could this be the problem?
OK, now I know what you mean, and unfortunately my problem was different. It would presumably turn on (button would change color) but not connect with anything, including access point that was no problem before. And sorry again since I don't know what that sddaemon thing is for sure. It might be related to the voice dial function, but I'm really not sure. Hard reset is definitely a pain. I've made a little cheat sheet for myself with all my tweaks to get things set up again. But it's a pain anyway. Part of the cost of being on the bleeding edge with these wonderful little machines.
so true so true. But since it seems that nobody else has this problem im a bit afraid that there might be a hardware problem.
Well only way to fighure it out is to do a hard reset!. Is there any way to back up WM5 like there was in 2003?
well i have now preformed a hard reset and that did not work. I also installed the imate rom twice (installed arabic first LOL) and that did not good eather.
So i guess there is a hardware issue with the phone itself...
Any thoughts?
Hi
I've been messing around a bit with my O2 Mini S this weekend...
I installed an all black Today Screen (Classic Black) , Wisbaradvance 2, Windows Vista Portable Edition Skin and E-Ten Dialer with Black Vista Skin.
After doing all this, I tried enabling the WiFi card from Comm Manager, and now after the spinning "egg timer" goes away, the red cross remains over the WiFi icon.
I've uninstalled Wisbaradvance 2 and done a soft reset, but the problem still persists.
Could anyone please help me?
Thanks!
Josh
Hmm
I've just done a hard reset and started fresh with O2 Corporate Mode and it's still doing the same thing...
Tap on the WiFi icon within Comm Manager and after the spinning timer goes away, the icon still has the red cross through it.
I've got 1.5 ROM... I have just tried numerous times to upgrade the rom to the latest O2 version 2.2.4.101 ? and each time it fails giving error 260 Connection Error. I've done all the troubleshooting steps and have had no luck.
Gah... Is my Mini S buggered?
Hmm, I did another hard reset and now the ROM update works.
Hi ppl ! My trinity is acting a little strange
It keeps trying to show in the same place battery Status and Time, you can see in the screen shots. Any ideas how can I solve this!? I've already install applications to show time, date or both but with no success.
Where can i change in registry this ???
This happens only in the main screen.
Regards,
Oclan
Did you try HTC Custom 1.7?
I've had a same problem until I removed HTC Home Plug.
got a strange issue, suddenly the function key (blue dot) remains active all the time on my hermes (softbank x01ht). When I press it, it doesn't deactive like it used to be. Reflashed w/WM5&6 numerous time to hope that it'll go away but it doesn't.
i can still use the phone except that the keyboard is basically deemed useless which is really irritating.
already googled and searched thru the forum but found no match.
any help is greatly appreciated, thnx!
