Hi,
I am trying to delete/overwrite some wave files under windows dir. I am running "Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional"
plz let me know if there is a way to do this?
Thanks,
It depends on what files you are trying to delete and why. It has nothing to do with the OS.
if they are ROM files, its harder/you might screw up your phone...
your best bet though is by using resco file explorer.

On my old HP Jornada 567, i was able to explore the "Windows" file on my pocket pc. Now with my 8525, i can't do that..i can explore almost everything but the windows file, however i really need to explore the windows file through my laptop. how can i do that?
hi kareem, its me again, do you mean that you cant open and explore your windows folder, not file?
Try and install resco explorer and use that to look in the windows folder, but i cant understand why you cant explore unless you royally screwed something up on the device or permissions have been set on the folder????
yup it turned out to be the permission, all working now thnx

isn't enough just expanding you winmob device in vista's explorer?
i expanded everything and i still dont see the windows folder, however i see it on my xp, when i connect it to my desktop
My guess is something like a "do not show hidden or system files" or something like that in your windows explorer options.
Yes i have the same issue. The issue isnt that the folder is "Missig" but it is hidden when browsing through windows. You should get resco's file explorer or similar explorer and try editing the properties of windows folder "unhide"...
but the easier way to copy stuff to windows folder is to just Create a junk folder on your storage card and copy your files into that folder..Then using the Resco's File Manager or similar, copy those files into the windows folder.
While u are at that screen making invisible files visible....make sure to uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" as well. voila there is ur windows folder..

Works thanks i was wondering the same thing
Apologies if this issue has been dealt with before. I tried searching but couldn't find anything on this topic.
Is there an application which mimics the function of file explorer in Windows 6.5
I've noticed that in 6.5:
1) You are not able to view the full file name of certain files if they exceed a certain length. Meaning you can't change the column size.
2) Copy and paste is really hard because you are unable to select a non selected region.
I much preferred the File Explorer in Windows Mobile 6.1 compared to 6.5 for above reasons. I was hoping there's a application out there which i can use to browse my files in Windows 6.5.
This could be just a related issue to my ROM.. I'm using Energy ROM Manila 2.1 Aug 30th release (Standard)
If someone can enlighten me then that would be greatly appreciated

Try Resco Explorer... really good and you can unhide hidden files, files with known extensions (.DLL, etc) and system files.
Also it's designed for finger use and ALOT easier to use.
Oh and you can expand the column width...

Ignore the screenshots as it looks significantly better on the HD
Omg, Thank you soo much!! I thought there was no app out there which would solve the problem.
Thanks guys
[Edit] Resco explorer works a treat, and I would recommend anyone who is having the same problem as me. Much better alternative to windows mobile File explorer. [/Edit]

Guys?? Just me
And you're welcome mate
can anyone tell me how i can install .dll files with resco?
please tell me
have you tried renaming the old one, dropping the new one into the windows folder, and soft reset?
Are you really asking the right question?
Do you mean, how do you use Resco explorer to add .dll files to the windows directory when the original .dll is still in use by Windows?
Or do you mean, How do I convert a .dll file into a .cab so I can run it to install files?
Surely you can just copy the .dll's into the place you want them? then restart?

'im trying to install the 1 ghz hack in my LEO but when i put the msm_clk.dll file in the windows folder and i soft reset the phone doesn't boot
The "1GHz hack" is known to be a fake. Your HD2 already runs at 1GHz when it needs to.
I have the 3VO rom on the htc snap and when connected to my win 7 pc I can not locate the /windows directory. I of course have the option to view hidden files checked but this was to no avail.
Hi there,
That is perfectly normal if you are trying to see it from the win7 mobile device center. Bill doesn't want you to mess with the system files. In order to access this directory, you have several options :
- install a proper file explorer such as Total commander or Resco file explorer on you device, and do it from there
- I think Mymobiler allows you to access this directory from the PC. Needs a check though, I uninstalled this program that kind of bugged me. see http://www.mymobiler.com/manual.aspx
Anyway, I would assume your problem does not come from the 3vo ROM.
