It is available now a software upgrade.
It is possible time to send our position both street SMS that by email.
With the SMS we can send our current position in the form of Latitude and Longitude in formed decimal Degrees that can be used on google Maps/Earth.
With the email is sent a message that will allow instead to whom receives it to be able to visualize a map with our exact position.
In practice for who receives the message it will be enough tap above to send the necessary script to Google to get the map.
To access these two functions click on the menu Stato, Invia Posizione and chose between Invia SMS or Invia mail
Shortly it will be possible to use the incoming SMS to visualize the position of whom has sent it in comparison to ours with the distance and to asked for the visualization on a map.
It is necessary to have a configured account on the device

I renamed my software: now it's MBeGPS instead of VisualGPS (in order to don't create homonym)
Hi everybody, I wrote this software to have under control all the functionalities of the integrated GPS or external one.
Besides is possible to visualize the own position as Google Maps and can be possible memorized some itineraries by to see on Google Earth.
It is possible download it here:
www.mbenterprise.it/Software/tabid/54/Default.aspx
David
I can translate the instructions page in Google, but is the software available in English?
I think you should choose another name for it.
Another program i allready called Visual GPS:
http://www.visualgps.net/
@timn2087
now is present the english version of the user manual on site, I'm working to release a new version in english in a few days.
@teddyen66
unfortunately I have discovered the other visualgps to late, consider that in italy the number of download is more that 1.000 and I would create confusion if I now changed the name.
but maybe it might become not only a confusion but a copyright issue. I don't know....

non mi memorizza l'itinerario.Compare un messaggio d'errore dicendomi di installare cfnet3.5, anche se gia e' installato.
it would be nice if it's also in english on that website of yours
Now there is the complete english translation of the user manual.
after the registration it is reachable on a new page named MBeGPS
is this software in english so i can try it?
thanks
I'm working to translate the software too.
MbeGPS 2.1 is available now
It is available the new version of MBeGPS in two different version, Std for all devices without accelerometer sensor and Plus for the device with sensor.
In the next week I'll traslate the software in English (I would like wait for the first feedback in order to clear the software from the bugs before traslate).
David
Latest software version is now available
I have highlight the description obove the upgrade on the first post
David
can someone please explain in plain english what this program does?
You can take under control all the GPS information like a Latitude and Longitude, Compass, Altimeter, Speed (Km/h) or changing view, you can see your route with the possibility to save it and pass the file (.kml) to google earth in order to highlight it over the satellite map or send the current position via gprs or wifi to google maps in order to obtain a map with your actual position on a street map or send by mail your position in order to make to know your position to anothe person.
You could also reload your route (graphics not over the map) and strike it again (bike or trekking route etc.)
You can see in a third view your acceleration like a Formula 1 graphic style and your inclination roll and pitch.
David
why don't you add screenshots? (to your site)
(I see you have AFTER someone registers!...)
also WHICH files to download?
you have most of the site in italian - it is not clear
After registration you can have the access ho mbegps page.
Tou can choose from mbegps std v.2.1.0.2 for device without accelermeter sensor ore mbegps plus v.2.1.0.2 tor device with the sensor.
There is an english version of the user manual about the v.2.1
The upgrated command are described also in english in the news section or the home page
yes but the PROGRAM is not in English
Now is available the english translation of the program plus a little upgrade.
In the graphics window , touching the speed rectanle, the speed units toggle from Km/h to Knot and to miles.
This values will be saved into a MBeConfig.ini file and will be reload at the software startup.
I have decelerate the gsensor acquisition.
In knot mode the pointing on the center screen are disabled and the zoom is increased to permit more details during the boat navigation.
Please let me know every problem you have
Thanks

Hi all,
We just released a new dialer (freeware) which you can download from Handango. You can download from
http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productId=152403
Features included in KikkerDialer are:
- The most advanced number dialing system which allows for entry by number panel or keyboard, editing, insertion, copy / paste, etc
- Intuitive and simple UI providing the main functions of a phone such as contacts, dial, access to special characters (e.g. the + sign for international dialing)
- A user interface for selecting contacts which mimicks the most intuitive methods for selecting contacts such as those used within standard mobile phones such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, etc
- Synchronisation with contacts database (mobile, work, home)
- Extremely fast and responsive to use
- Access to the Windows Mobile clipboard for copy / paste
Feedback welcomed. Enjoy.
Kikker Interactive
I'm sorry, but I really don't see what is so special about this software. Maybe I have got it wrong, but I would say that D9 is better than this, and PhonePlus is much better. I don't want to scroll to the letter J every time I want to call my friend John, and so on.
Copy and paste is nice, but where is the T9 contact selection as in D) and PhonePlus, I think that is a great feature.
The fact that this diealer resembles old standard GSM phones is of no interest.
Sorry for only giving bad feedback, but then again, I might haven't found the cool features.
nteresting… just tried this
First comment - good to see another free dialer out there given what shipped with the jam.
ave only tried this for abt 15 minutes but like it very much so far. Is a lot faster than D9 (my only complaint with that software – I have ~ 1,000 contacts in my jam and the UI is v unresponsive). The thing I like with this new dialer too is the editable text field which seems to be missing on most other apps out there. The ability to edit a number before a call (e.g. insert +44 if not already in international prefix), insert a digit when you have entered incorrectly, etc is just what I was after. Would be nice to see call history in there too btw.
Intuitive and simple UI providing the main functions of a phone such as contacts, dial, access to special characters (e.g. the + sign for international dialing) --->Cool...
Crashed on my WWE Qtek S100 .. when I try to call ..

Hi Carlis,
In the first few hours of release, the first installer required you to have OpenNETCF on your device. It seems not so many people have this so we fixed this issue and now you no longer need this on your device.
You should uninstall the KikkerDialer and run the the new installer file (now setup.exe - ~2MB), downloadable from the same location at Handango. Please give this a go and let us know if any probs - [email protected]
Best rgds,
Kikker Interactive
I'm surprised all of you think different than me, but I will give it another try, I guess. I still don't think it can compare with PhonePlus with all the features it has, but then again it's freware.

Cant downlod the Setup.exe, it still downloads the setup.msi, is this the right version? I'm getting the same crash. Can someone post it here?

for me the download link does not work at all. Page cannot be displayed.
Well, I downloaded the MSI-file from handandgo. Now in can run on my T-Mobile MDA Compact but when I try to dial, it crashes:
KikkerDialer.exe
TypeLoadException
Failed to load type OpenNETCF.Notification.Led from OpenNETCF.Notification, Version=1.2.3346.0, Culture-neutral, PublicKey Token= 30C767B29D52D6E6
Can it be fixed? I wanted to test this application concerning tone dial (DTMF sending).

Hi
Thank´s for the answer...
but .. hm .. its not an exe on the same location .. its still the MSI ..
Carlis
ZeroXtreme, 718 & Carlis - Our apologies - we actually meant to the setup.MSI - the file you see up there is the right one (it is not an .exe).
However, seems some of you are still getting a runtime issue on your devices. We suspect this is due to a missing DLL - but cannot replicate your issue right this moment. We've just received some more devices now tho and are retesting. Will post a response here shortly. Feel free to email us directly in the meantime.
Iggy - the handango site must have been having problems. You should try again.
Kikker Interactive
Beta testing - never easy. I'm having enough trouble and bugs beta testing Mobi Dial 2.5 right now, so I'll think I'll pass on this one. Someone let me know when there actually is a legit, ergonomically competent and STABLE replacement dialer out there.
OK thank you all for your patience.
Our new devices arrived and we were able to replicate the issue that some of you were having. This has now been solved with a new version of the setup.msi (now named setup_20050202.msi as Handango doesn't seem to allow overwriting).
You can either download the new app from Handango (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productId=152403) or we've also hosted it at http://69.20.6.190/KikkerDialer/setup_20050202.msi for your convenience.
If you don't want to go through the process of download + installing the 2MB file again, there is an easier way for those of you who already have the previous version installed. Please follow the steps here:
1. Quit the KikkerDialer
2. Download two dll's http://69.20.6.190/KikkerDialer/OpenNETCF.Notification.dll and http://69.20.6.190/KikkerDialer/OpenNETCF.Phone.dll
3. Copy both files to \Program Files\KikkerDialer on your device (or wherever you installed the dialer)
4. Restart the app
Any problems - please let us know. Again, apologies for the false start for some of you. From those who were not affected however, we had some v positive feedback and to repay all your efforts, will add some more features within the next few weeks
Kikker Interactive
Yes, with the dlls you provided the program starts okay. However, I failed to dial DTMF tones. Sometimes it is necessary to dial extention or enter a PIN-code. Such a pitty!
Exelent .. thx.. it now works on a Swedish WWE Qtek s100 without need of the extra dll´s ..
Only thing that is missing .. DTMF codes .. to use bank transactions and so..
When they ask for my account nr .. and I press the keys.. nothing happends..
And finaly .. how to replace the old dailer hardware keys.. Green and Red phone keys to be using Ur dailer.. it still actiavte the old one..
Best Regards Carlis
Hi - ok glad we got all the installer issues cleared up.
Yep - DTMF tones are not supported currently. As users of the software, here is what we do:
- Make the call using KikkerDialer
- When prompted to enter PIN (etc), press the green call button and the standard windows dialer will appear
- Type in your code using this interface
This works fine against all systems. Obviously not as intuitive. We are however, working on building in DTMF into our next release and have made some progress so far but won't ship till its ready. At the same time, we'll try to address the issue of how to bind KikkerDialer to the green call button.
Keep giving us your feedback in the meantime, v useful.
Best rgds,
Kikker Interactive
Would you manage dialing DTMF tones, you'll be great! But please note that the standard Windows dialer do not work correctly with the DTMF tones. There is something wrong with the duration of the tone, as I suppose. So with that dialer I often reach wrong extention or dial wrong number.
First of all thank you for the freeware.
in spite that, I dont think I would throw phoneplus away yet which serves my every needs.
But it is nice to see some developers trying to give some fight to proffesionals.
Thanks for all your comments. We're still working on getting a v1.0 out there shortly and the latest is good news. From the latest development version of the KikkerDialer, we now have full control of all the JAM buttons such as the direction pad middle button (to select contacts), the green dial button (to open the dialer and make calls), etc. This feature alone allows for complete one handed usage of the dialer (i.e. no stylus).
Now focus remains on adding:
- Call history
- Easier searching on contacts
- DTMF
This last, frequently requested, item is proving to be quite a challenge. We shall persist!
Best rgds,
Kikker Interactive
Hi all,
As I tried to contact Niels Thomsen a couple times without answer and not being sure at all he is going to update his software and databases, finally I came back to program again.
Firstly I'll say the databases have the same origin, the files writen by George Spanellis that can be found in PocketGPS web site.
I took the full monty, joined in a single file and then started to delete those were repeated. So from a scratch of more than 2.5 millions postcodes the final database has 1.678.621 postcodes in a file of 40 Mb..
Then they were indexed and compressed (don't ask how) to get a final file of 13 Mb.
Personally I'm very happy with results. It's quick, no more than 1 second in a XDA II, to find the farest postcode in the database and the program that was made with NSBasic is 16 Kb.
I work as courier and testing it every day without problems with a lot of postcodes.
I don't want people selling my job in eBay taking benefits of my job, so I intend to sell it and to have registered customers. On return it will be updated on basis of customers corrections and adds and crossing my database with any other I can get.
Of course any comments or sugestions are very welcome.
At the moment I use the TTN SDK 2.0, but if there are enough customers I will buy the new 3.0 to get more interactions. For those that have already installed the TTNcontrol 3.0 in their PDA is not problem to have too the earlier control. I have myself. At the end of the day they are OCX controls that work or not if they are needed and they have similar but different names.
That's why I use the built-in keyboard instead to design a new one: To have more room in the screen for future new buttons. The second reason and no less important is to get a quick and small program.
I know you're tired reading my broken English so here are the CAB's you need. Copy them to your PDA and execute them. It will create a shortcut to the program.
This version has a expiration period of 15 days, I think is enough to try it and to get your comments. Thanks.
Hi all,
As some people reported to me some issues with the installation, possibly due to the way some PDA refer to the "Storage Card" I decided to separate the files to allow a "hand made" installation.
There is now 4 files to be downloaded. if some of you already have some of them skip it.
Data: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.adell/ukpc/data.zip
Library http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.adell/ukpc/library.zip
Program http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.adell/ukpc/program.zip
TTN library http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.adell/ukpc/TTNControl.arm.CAB
Data contains the database
Library contains the needed OCX controls and runtimes
Program contains the program itself and a How2install.txt file with instructions
And finally the TTN library contains the TTN OCX controls. If you have already installed Checkpoint (last version) you don't need it.
I hope this workaround will eliminate the installation problems. The instructions file I think is enough clear, but if someone needs more help let me know. Also it will be a better way to introduce new releases or modifications just downloading one or two files instead the full lot.
BTW, the program has corrected a flickering effect when starting and a bug in the search process that affected postcodes with 6 digits or less.
Nomada
Hi all
A new release, now with a function to create Itineraries from Postcodes. And you don't need even to have TomTom running in your device. It works only for TTN 3.xx
You will see now two new buttons: "Send to itinerary" and "Finish itinerary"
After you get the coordinates for your 1st point (departure) tap on Send to itinerary. Use the second button for your last point.
The itinerary wil be saved as ukpc2ttn. So now you only need to open TTN, go to itinerary an open that file. It will show you the itinerary naming each point with the correspondent postcode and a flag with the position, so you can identify the point in the map. You will notice that the 1st point is not in the list. Don't worry, when you tap on "Plan" you will be asked to use that point as start.
To download just the program use the link: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.adell/ukpc/program.zip

Route Tracker
With Route Tracker you can create routes and add several route points containing text and/or images from your current position. If gps is available it will take the current longitude, latitude and altitude. Without a gps module information of the current cell id and the location area code are saved.
For each route a report can be created which can be saved as a html file.
prerequisites:
PocketPC with .net compact framework 2.0 and SQL Compact Server 2005 (already installed in WM6 professional)
(tested on a WM6 professional device without gps)
known issues:
after uninstall the db and the images will not be deleted
getting MyLocation can time out
timer greater than ~15 seconds doesn't word when device is in suspend mode
in the view form only the map type for default route maps is working
next features:
automatic point adding by distance (every x meters)
more robust MyLocation
geo game (show taken image and try to find the place on the map)
Any comments are appreciated.
version 1.0.5
new view showing the whole route in one image using Google Maps (markers or path)
this view can be saved to an image file
check its settings form for parameters
version 1.0.4
new setting: Use Google's MyLocation for report GMaps and for exporting to kml. On devices without gps the cell id information will be used to get an approximate location. (default on and will use internet connection!)
version 1.0.3
new report "GMaps" using google maps (will try to use internet connection!)
updated date set to last saved route point
additional setting: Flash on Saving (flash on main screen)
version 1.0.2
additional settings: check gps, vibrate on saving
saving settings: seconds, minutes and vibrate on saving
show time with date in the grid
version 1.0.1
A report can be saved to kml for viewing in google maps.
In Menu/Auto Report... timed saving can be activated.
Thanks,
heliosdev
Anybody tried?
Would be interesting to know if the gps information gets stored and if there are any issues on devices with qwerty hardware keyboard (regarding screen rotation).
Thanks!
New version is up. If you have difficulties with the gps data, try to start gps with another app and after having enough sat fixes try Route Tracker.
Nice now this app work, but here some ideas:
A Sign that shows a record was made
Start Time on the main screen
Show Cell ID or GPS is used
Other Ideas will follow

Great but here some Ideas:

Vibrate is good, but better would it if you make a flashing dot on the main screen because if you use it in a carholder its not so go.
(Or you can add vibrate too under settings)
And Upload direct the cab file, its easier to use!
Thx and work on!
didn't work on my vogue - got a net framework error.

I'm using the ppckitchen to cook a custom rom and have included both sql, 3.5 supposed to be included and I also select .netcf 2. Maybe that's a problem, but I've not ever gotten that message with any of the other programs I use that require .netcf. When I run /Windows/cgacutil.exe it says 2.0.7045.0
Will this work with .NET 3.5 or only 2.0?
I get this error using the ROM in my sig and SQLce 3.5 added.
Code:
An unexpected error has occurred in RouteTracker.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
File or assembly name 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=3.0.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3BE235DF1C8D2AD3', or one of its dependencies, was not found.
Here a new Idea
Make a Today Plugin that shows CELL ID, LAC, MCC, MNC or GPS and a count down. It shows new recorde made in xx.xx.xx (ex. 00:00:10 = 10 sek.)
Well, I'm using C# .net and I'm not sure if this can be used for today plugin development.
Btw, new version is up!
new version is up!
Tests with devices without gps are appreciated! (internet connection needed)
(report GMaps and save report (in Report form) to kml and view it with google maps/earth on desktop)
Nice,
works fine!
But can you set a dot on mylocation?
Like here http://cellid.schlapa.net
Also show the cellID data on the Gmaps Screen.
Thx wait for next versions ...

Remote Tracker
I use Remote tracker:

It's a great (and free) program that allows you to send coded text messages to your missing phone, which will activate the gps and text you back with it's co-ordinates. You can do other stuff to, like wipe the address book, or just set off an alarm if you loose it in the house!

Not quite similar. It only shows locations where the last known sync was executed, or where the last pics were shared....
Remote Tracker gives you a sms with lat/long position of the phone (I also got a Topaz; it works).
reperion has this function (use in stealth mode). Shows last reported position on Google Maps. Works very well... reporting distance is configurable, obviously accuracy depends on last GPS fix, but could locate it to nearest building.
I use it on my Diamond 2 and other WM phones and it works perfectly.
www.reperion.com
Maybe found the problem?
I found some additional information in another forum here which may be relevant. This program apparently uses a Windows Mobile function called the message interceptor. This function appears to not work if the following registry keys are present:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\SMS\Rules:{1000BC1C-F4A3-4210-B197-4AEBF2CEE6F5}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\SMS\Rules:{3AB4C10E-673C-494c-98A2-CC2E91A48115}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\SMS\Rules:{77990A0E-60B8-4103-B9AF-17157E4274FD}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\SMS\Rules:{A0C65276-77C8-48ef-B2AF-049DCB4171CD}
I have three of these keys present on my device.
Could someone with a Topaz and a working installation of Remote Tracker check and see if you have these registry keys?
Also, if anybody knows anything about these keys, particularly whether or not it's safe to delete them, please post.
Thanks!

What is the best maps software available for the HTC HD2 ?
I know the google maps is really good, but one thing I dislike about is that it doesnt have a built in compass.
Nokia maps had a built in compass that rotates according to your position. ( the whole map rotates as well showing what direction you're facing)
Is there such program for the HTC ?
the new google maps support the built-in compass. It doesn't rotate or change the orientation of the map, but it gives you an arrow of which direction your car is heading.
Do I need to download that google maps or is it in the version that came with the HTC ? (going to check that now)
---EDIT
Nope its not in my current version, where can I get the new one ?
---EDIT
Okay I followed : http://www.google.com/gmm
Ill see if that downloads the newest version

It seems I have 3.2.1 .. the newest version stated by that site is 3.3.1
Maybe that will work
Thanks for pointing out the new version, ill reply back here once I finish downloading

And true, in the new version, the blue dot becomes an arrow and points towards what you are facing, Cool !!

If for some reason you don't want to use Google Maps AND you live in the UK, Mapyx Quo seems to be pretty good. Check it out here: http://www.mapyx.com/
Isnt that a computer software ?
Have you seen nonigps?
It takes a track and you can set up waypoints which you can export in various formats.
It has an inbuilt compass which points to your next waypoints and also has a few dashboards to choose from
