Issue with Titan - Mogul, XV6800 General

I just got a xv6800 titan. I noticed that the phone would go IDLE and not come back on while the Green light flashes on the top indicating its on. Even after pressing the power button to bring back the screen, its doesnt come back.
Only way to remedy the problem is by doing a battery pull. Is there anything im doing wrong??

are you using the device lock/unlock today plugin? I thought there were some settings about allowing or not allowing the power button to work or maybe it was the other buttons. You might check there. Might be a registry setting that is off as well but it sure sounds like maybe a hardware issue.

The only lock im using is the s2u2 lock

Auto Power Off, Cingular 8125

Hi guys...
I am as techy as the rest of yew, maybe more so, but I am having a problem understanding one thing about this phone. I know it is something very simple that I am missing, but I can't find anything about it anywhere in the docs, either?
How does the "auto power off" feature work? What I mean by this is, I know we can turn the power off after two minutes or whatever, but I see that the green GSM radio light is still flashing. That's good, that's what we want because we want to be able to receive calls.
The problem I am having is that after a time (I am guessing it is the two minutes?) I can't get the screen to come back on? What am I missing here? Is it me, or is it a bad phone? Auto power off seems to make the phone unuseable until a soft reset.
I tried pushing the power button, nothing. I tried HOLDING the power button, nothing. I tried pushing the TALK button, nothing.
Is the auto power off different than pushing the power button once and putting the device to sleep? What I want is the device to go to sleep after two minutes. I want to be able to use the phone again without doing a soft reset every time.
I know this is something easy, but I can't quite figure it out?

I've been having a similar issue with my 8125. I seem to also have a problem when I turn the device off. I've been trying to pinpoint the circumstances, but haven't had any luck as of yet.
Have you made any progress with this?
hold the power bottom for 3-5 seconds , there will apper a Yes/No dia.tap yes will real shut off. Not good at eng.But is it easy to understand ?
i had a similiar issue recently on a phone i had forever, turns out that i installed GPRS connection monitor that turned the backlight off on my phone... after hitting the power button to wake it up it appeared my screen was still off, so if i turned it at the right angle i could see my today screen.. meaning the backlight was off, i had to keep it at that angle and navigate into the setting menu to turn the backlight on.. i couldnt find a fix for it so i uninstalled the GPRS monitor and havent had the problem since

Phone Turning Off When Closing

Whenever I close my screen with a bit of speed, it just turns off. I was wondering if anybody else ever had this problem?

Not 100% sure I know what you mean - how do you close the screen? - on/off button??
Mike
i had this problem when i first got the phone, but turns out i wasnt used to the button configuration after coming from the wizard and was hitting the power button....
Well I have had the phone for many months now and I have Black Dymond on it, so I am not the average user
After playing with it some more, I figured out that if the screen is slided to its normal position (closed), and if I squeeze the screen closed more (making sure im not hitting any buttons), it turns off!
I guess my phone is just getting old

Overzealous slide mechanism

Hey guys,
I've recently flashed the latest AMP (Wm 6.1) onto my G4 and i've noticed an annoying problem.
I don't know if it's the ROM or the fact that i've not used the device in a while, but it seems the slightest nudge on the screen will turn the device on and light up the backlight.
This is really annoying and will kill my battery quickly. Is there any app or registry tweak that can disable the slide mechanism from activating the power i.e. if the power is off, opening the slide will not power the device on - ONLY the power button will do this.
Any suggestions?
Well, that IS the way that the Wizard works! It shouldnt be turning on when you slide the screen if the device is in sleep mode...so I would say that it has something to do with the ROM. Try hard-reseting or flashing again my friend and see if it helps!
Yeah, but we are talking the slightest tap or millimeter and it turns on.
I'm going to try a reflash and hoping that it's not a hardware fault.
Im sorry, I said that wrong. The Wizard SHOULD NOT turn on when you open the keyboard, if you have powered it down with the power button or it has turned off automatically via time-out. It should only wake from sleep if you press the power button, sorry for the confusion!
Though it does indeed still seem like a ROM problem to me!

Is Wake on Home Button Push Possible?

Hey, did anyone found solution... is it possible to tweak settings somehow so that display turns on by pushing home button? Or do I really have to push power button every time?
I know of volume button tweak, but.. that one is no good (volume settings gets displayed)... Any other ideas, suggestions? (other than "pull the stylus")
Thanks!
Try AE Button Plus. You can customize a lot of buttons. I didn't tried what you asked, but it worth a try.
Anyway, take care using it.
I would say not. There appears to be no power to these lower buttons while in standby, so no software could work?

No, for the reasons given.
BUT... you could use MobileMagic to toggle the screen on/off when device is turned face down. That way when you turn it face down, screen goes off and buttons are locked. To turn it back on, turn devicedevice face down again.
You do need to go to Start-Settings-System-Power-Advanced and untick the option, "Turn off device if not used for", because if the device gets turned off (instead of just screen off) it won't respond.
I have it set to turn screen off on reverse portrait too,
so it turns off automatically when I put it in my pocket.
Im also afraid for that power button... used it a lot on my diamond so it got bricked, its so gentle... Im using it as much as little possible now on mine HD for that reason.
I have s2u2 unlock on stylus out, so I pull out the stylus, the HD comes on and unlocks. It's so simple.

Do you find this has any impact on battery life? If i'm right, this just turns off the screen but does not put the device to sleep?

That's not possible for the simple reason that the buttons below the screen are part and parcel of the touch screen, so if the screen is off, they won't work.

That is correct.
Power consumption, in this case, depends on what applications are left running. GPS, streaming video, etc would be a bad idea to leave running. But more workday apps use very little juice when the huge power drain of the screen is turned off.

Nope... I've tried that app. Its great for locking down the normal WM hardware buttons, but it doesn't have the HTC bespoke "Home button" on the list of configurable buttons.

[Q] Random Screen shut off with keys backlight on

All right I was wondering if anyone could give me any inside info im having with my HD2, from T-Mobile ok.
Well I notice that sometimes the screen will go into idle and go off, but I will press any of the keys, like the end call or green call button or home or back and the backlight of those keys will come on but my screen will stay dead. The only fix I have found so far is just taking off back cover and removing battery and starting phone back up or by doing a soft reset but then eventually it will happen again. I searched for this but to no luck. Any help or suggestions?
Also will do it on a Stock ROM or a WM Custom ROM
