Does anyone know a website where i can purchase a good quality in car charger for my TyTN II.
Thanks
Just bought mine cheaply from ebay. States it's an original HTC and looks like one. Works well. I'd buy from ebay again. Search for 'OEM car charger htc tytn'
Bought mine on Amazon (germany). There's a lot of confusion though. Many resellers sell "original OR OFFICIAL PARTNERS" chargers.
Of course you only get cheap "official" partners stuff. It happened to me once, paid few euros, never worked, no charging at any time.
Then I spotted a reseller really pretending to sell only original, and it was the case. Original HTC cost more (here in EU I think more than 10 eruos is standard) that cheap things, and have 2A power (even though I still don't understand why but that's written on it).
Official one look like that:

At least it worked w/o any problem.

To my knowledge, the only example of this for the Tilt has been the Brodit active cradle - which happens to be one of the more reputable brands of chargers you can buy. That vendor owned up to the problem and replaced everyone's chargers and (I believe) also paid for repairs of the damages to any Tilts they killed.
The noname chargers won't brick the Tilt, they just will fail to charge it.
Any Mini usb car charger works. I just bought a motorola charger and it works.

It's not because this Motorola works that all will work! I had a totally unbranded one, it was absolutely not working.
What I did was get a Car USB to AC converter.. looks like the a$$ end of a car charger, except your USB cable plugs into it.. it's handy for everything... your Kaiser, Laptop.. etc...

I'm trying to sell it, but it's pretty hard to sell since you can't charge it!

Ouch!
If you have mad soldering skillz, you could try taking the phone apart, then buying a new USB jack from Mouser Electronics or DigiKey. That's assuming that HTC didn't use a proprietary connector and that the PCB wasn't damaged when the connector broke.
Otherwise, I'd say it's time to test your mad Google skillz to find a repair shop.
Maybe I can sell it here? Someone has to know how to fix it...
How exactly did this happen?
When I go to bed I charge my phone, and usually plug it in, in the dark.
I'm always worried about screwing it up so I do it very gently.
I'm the same way...
My cousin pushed the charger port in or something when I was sleeping... I woke up pissed. Went and bought a Sidekick 3, they're nice phones too.
Wow...I did the EXACT same thing ^_^ I just sent it in the Cingular customer support and they repaired it. Since they determined that it was from physical damage they made me pay for repairs but it was less than half of the full retail price so not too bad ^_^
Pocket PC Techs list USB port replacement as a standard repair for $60 (with a exception note regarding possible extensive/internal damage). You can check it out at http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~unit~HTC_Wizard-511~area~repairs~item~REP-USBCON01.htm
That happened to mine when i dropped it off the desk with the chrging cable in, landing with full force on it.
Once you manage to get the stupid thing open (they like to make it tricky!) it's easy enough to re-solder. The pads are very close together though, so make sure none accidentally connect to their neighbour.

That have happened to me two times in a month.
I have to be more careful.
Me 2
Same happened to me, sent it off for repair, got lost in the post sumwhere, tmobile said i had to have a motorola l6 instead, spent all day on tech support, emaild director, got contacted by secretary, new wizard, got secretarys personal number.
And that in a nutshell it what happened 2 me.
8)
Many people probably already have one, but for the newbies (like myself) that don't have a car charger, this is the lowest price I've seen. This is the OEM charger made by HTC. Shipping for me was $3.99.

I have received the charger and Micro SD card from newegg and want to report that they both work great. The charger has a cool blue backlight of the HTC logo.
Oh yeah!

Not bad for the price
How well does it charge comparing to home charger? I have a cheap one that I used with Tilt and it charged the Tilt extremely slow comparing to the home charger.

It seems to charge just as fast as the home charger, if not a little faster. If there's a program or something I can use to get the actual watts, let me know.

Look for a program called Tbattery. It will tell you how much power is being drained or added.
I've been using this for a few months now.

Cos this one looks bad-ass!
But the original post is useless without a model number or link to a seller. Shall i start an individual thread for all the new things i bought this month too?

I don't have a car charger so no, i don't sit in my car and wait for my phone to charge...
I didn't get an in-car charger with my Nexus so i don't even know what you're on about with a stock charger... Unless you moaning at everyone who uses in car chargers? Cos they're pretty handy when you're using Co-Pilot on long journeys.
Hellooooo everyone!
This was posted in the Evo 3D forums already, but the Evo ain't the SGS2...
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10833&cs_id=1083314&p_id=8675&seq=1&format=2
In comes the Monoprice version of the MHL adapter! It's only 15.92 and very little shipping, is sleek enough and you can get a long HDMI cable for cheap! I already ordered one for testing (It's back ordered for now) but if you set an alert, the minute it's in stock you'll know.
Also, if someone is willing, bulk pricing drops price a little.
Will post feedback once I get the device.
Well ...a good price and I have brought from them b4...
I guess I don't need it....Allshare work for me as I have a Samsung LED 3D TV.....
And I just got a good deal on a Samsung ML1865W printer ($45 shipped from Newegg) so I can print wireless from my Samsung devices.
This one on Amazon is cheaper (14.99) and works for me too.
Yeah, but not everyone can order from amazon.com... Gotta love their "Not in my country, not a potential customer" mentality... Thanks for the link though!

Just a warning. A bunch of people on the G2X forum bought HDMI cables from Monoprice and had their phones fried.

The issue with the G2X had more to do with the phone than the cable. If you read about the issue to the end, most of the people complaining about the issue said their cables were purchased from various independent vendors on Amazon.

You seem to have a lot of Samsung products. GS2, Tab 10.1, the original tab and a TV. Not to forget the printer!!
Well, they ought to give you big discount for your next purchase
Just wanted to point out that if you use a case, and depending on the cutout of that case for the microUSB port, you may have a hard time plugging in most of these aftermarket microUSB cables. The ends on them are pretty fat. I ordered microUSB cables from Monoprice and am going to have to shave some of the black plastic off near the end connector so it'll fit all the way into my TPU case.

An hdmi cable can't do that. There is only one power pin for 50mA. That's way less than a charger.

I bought one of these adapters and it works like a dream btw. Recommend it.

A lot of discussion about aftermarket chargers and car chargers, but I cannot find specs for original nexus/asus charger that you get in the box.
Is it the same as this one?: http://www.asus.com/Peripherals_Acc...Nexus_7_10W_Adapter_and_Cable/#specifications
If not, could someone please post exact specs of the charger (everything written on it) for UK and EU (i know they are most probably exactly the same, but I want to be sure)
Also, since the UK charger comes made out of two parts (as seen in any nexus 7 UK unboxing video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=bfd8ithIxFg#t=229s ), is there a EU version of this? Because UK plug is the only one with detachable plug, as far as I've seen US and EU come normally, without any detachable parts. Is it a very specific part, or can I go to some local electro store and get EU plug?
Thanks!
Really, everyone talking about how they're enjoying their nexuses, and NO ONE will take 1 minute of their time to copy specs off the adapter?
Please, it's not too hard to do.
This is the very same universal charger that comes standard with the Nexus 7. If you care to read the label of yours, you'll see it's exactly the same one, specs (and looks) wise.
Regarding the detachable adapter, I think the one included in the "ASUS Traveller's Kit" for the Eee Pad TF101 is fully compatible but unless you can find someone who's willing to sell you this specific detachable plug in separate, you might as well buy the official ASUS Nexus 7 adapter specific to your country.

Cheers!
I will read charger specs myself in two weeks, when I indeed do get it. For now, I don't have it just yet, and I can't find info on it. I'd basically only like to know output current, so I can compare it to my Sony and Samsung chargers.
About the travel kit, thanks for the tip! Too bad the Eee pad has a completely different plug, and I'm not paying 30$ just to get the EU plug
Even the charger alone is quite expensive. I guess I'll just use one of those massive bulky traditional travel converters
Thanks for answering!
