Hello All,
I have just got another M600 (Prophet) for my brother as I am so please with my first one. I have got this phone second hand and the owner has put in a secruity code/pin after the boot screen when in windows. I would obviously want to get rid of that, how could I do that? I have tried hard reset (Photo + Communication button and rest button), it didn't work. I would really want your help.

thats kind of strage, because normaly the passwort should be deleted after a hard-reset...
Maybe you should try to flash it

hey this my first post so plz be nice!!
i got the t mobile ameo and i tried unlocking it i followed the instructions to the letter.
but something went wrong and if possiable how can i reset it back to origional settings (t mobile) or even unlock it to what i wanted so my 3 simcard can go in there. or orange.
plz help

Hi, and welcome to the forum. (See! I was nice!)
Telling us that 'something went wrong' isn't really enough for us to go on.
You need to describe exactly what happens to your Ameo when you power it up, so we can give the correct advice. What do you see on the screen?

when i do the hard reset it does the usb boot screen but goes to a gray screen that asks me to format microdrive and then flash it. i think the op system been wipped but i cant get it to the rainbow usb boot screen for active sync to fix it
You can get it into bootloader mode by holding down the comm manager and camera buttons, then soft resetting.
From there you can re-install WM6. If you didn't succeed in unlocking the unit, you'll need to use the T-Mo compatible version of WM6 which you can find here - http://uploaded.to/?id=wbbw2u

I found it in forum, how to reset.
But problem is not solved.
When i hard reset it, after set up customization, i get same screen.

And if i try to attach it with computer.
It displays on screen

DO you get the multi coloured boot loader screen ?
If you have then you can reflash the rom yourself and put it right
Read the stickies to find out how to do it

No i do not get multi colored screen during hard reset.
How to put it in bootloader mode? I try but do not get.

Magician bootloader has no multicolor bootloader. When you see Serial/USB v1.02 you already are in bootloader! If you'd read the Wiki you'd have known!
Furthermore I'm pissed at people who ask dumb question a thousand times (oooh mommy, how do I pee?) and then have the nerves to simply answer their own threads with "Oooh... I found out" - end. They should either be quiet or correctly answer their stupid questions fully (ok mommy... although my trousers are already wet I found that white thingy in the bathroom). That would help other dummies searching for their simple answer. But wait, newbies don't search - I forgot.
And now to those ppl who want to come to first-posters defence: there's no excuse. You can't miss instructions for the first steps. And newbies usually don't ask which CPU register points to the stack.

Please try the steps mentioned in this Wiki page. If it stops in the middle with an error you probably have an hardware error and are out of luck. If you succeed you should have a "brand new" Magician.

I had installed HTC home plugin on my Xperia and now its hung or unresponsive. I can see the start, call and Menu on the screen but touching that does not do anything .

thats not for VGA devices, it's for QVGA which is why it's not working.
Can you acess the X1 from through activesync on your PC?
If so then you can uninstall it from there (add/remove programs)
if not then I'm afraid you'll have to hard reset, and learn a valuable lesson, make sure you know what it is you're installing..
Hard reset, is take the back cover off and stick the sytlus in the small hole in the side next to the battery, while holding down the two silver buttons on the front.

If you've done it right it must have made a difference as this wipes the devices memory. If you can't do this then don't even start messing about with mtty
if you see the SE logo, then you haven't done it right.
hold the two silver hardware keys on the front of the x1 down after you've reset. Keep pressing them down till you see some text that tells you to press R
If you don't see this screen keep trying (reset+press the keys) till you do.

I have a HTC ELF 0100 i want to change the language to english but i cant make anything. I try to hard reset the phone but this also is impossible. there is Windows mobile 6.1 installed in it.
Things you might need to know:
I HOLD the green and red Button and click on reset - for hard reset but nothing happens
To update an english rom i need to CID unlock. but this also fails saying ERROR 260.
And when try to upload a COOK rom it says ERROR 260 and the HTC screen become black i.e standy mode. it does not goes to the BOOTLOADER mode!

But i can assure you it an original one. Not clone or china made. But one things is that the battery is not an original one.

Hi man thx for the REPLY but this also i tried !! it does not shows anything !! Only giving Data UNKONw or something like that!
I was able to install ENABLERAPI.cab to make the above PROGRAM work.
i want to know why the ElF is not able to HARD RESET.... I HOLD the TWO BUTTONS [red&green] and PRESS RESET but it never enter the HARD reset..
Very Strange and time comsuming for me i need a REAL solution !!

Big chance your phone is a fake.. I'm sorry man..
Perhaps if you posted some pictures of your device (also the backside without the cover, and one without the battery) some might be able to help you figure out what's going on.

Hi everyone got a bit of a problem and would appreciate a bit of help , My acer s200 is unresponsive now , no blinking lights, nothing. I was in the middle of updating to ROM - English 3.003b.00.EN when it got accidentally disconnected.
I have had a look on the forum but had not luck finding anything that will help me out.
Any help would be apprerciated please.

hard reset the device and take it to go back to the bootloader mode, then flash rom again

Thanks Hakim Rahman for the reply and link. I have 2 more questions what is the best way to hard reset the phone please? I have seen quite a few different ways to do this which i have followed with no luck as of yet. Also what is the best flash rom to use?
I have tryed to hard reset using the methods below which i think is the correct methods but still my screen is dead
Method 1. "Reset by pressing button combination Hold the Volume up and Volume down buttons while pressing reset until the screen shows “Clean Boot”.
And this way
Method 2. Hold vol up and vol down and press power.
Anyone please point me in the rite direction for the hard reset that will actually work please?

My phone has nothing happening at all it is completely dead, the battery was charged before it went off so i know that is still charged. I can't believe all i done was caught the wire and it came out of my phone while i was updating it to the latest Rom that i downloaded from Acer So will the hard reset still work even though nothing is coming on at all on my phone?
