Hi, I'm new here and I have checked this site a few times here the last weeks. You guys make wonderful applications. Currently i'm using Throttlelock, S2P and S2V.
Now i was wondering if there is an app that notifies you when a bluetooth connection is made (like with a bluetooth carkit). Now i can only see that my bluetooth is on but not if the connection is really made.
Can someone help me?
First this belongs to the sticky question thread.
Second, once bluetooth headphone is connected, you see a little headphone icon on the dialer screen. I'm assuming Car kit behaves similarly because they function similarly.

I know that but i think it would be nice if that was visable on the today screen.
@ Admin: please move to the sticky question thread, thanks.
I too, find that notification on the today screen is very useful. The only way I know of to have this is to use the Battery Status skin at this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392818&highlight=wm7+battery+status

Hello,
Hopefully somebody can help me, the BT turns on after taking/recieving/missed calls. It is annoying. Does anybody know how to stop it? I have tied tuning it off or into discovery mode, but to no help.
Any suggestions anybody? is their a reg hack for it?
Thanks
I had the same problem and fixed it by uninstalling bluetooth tools stack. Seems Okfor first hour.
Regards
Richardracer
I had the same problem and can confirm removing BT Tools fixed it.
Seems to be an 'undocumented feature'
but if the circle (a clock i think) is made white (as in on) then it turns off itself after awhile

It isn't an undocumented feature, it's one of the main features of Pocket Bluetooth Tools! In order to save battery, BT is kept switched off until a call comes in then it comes on (no messing around with the headset profile crap on the today screen). After the call finishes, if the timer is enabled in BPT, it turns BT off after about a minute (configurable in the registry).

The icon on the left activates or deactivates Bluetooth. The clock symbol switches automatic power off for Bluetooth on or off. When activated (white backround as in the picture) then Bluetooth will be switch off after 60sec of inactivity.

Please take the time to read the documentation when installing software.
i still feel there should be the option to have bluetooth tools installed and not use the timer and still not have it turn bluetooth on when the phone ring
BT Tools made my headset completely non-functional. I could pair it after installation as instructed, but the phone would not put calls on the headset no matter what. Nice idea, but didn't work for me.
Has anyone actually measured the battery impact of having BT on? On my Ericsson T68 it had a very minimal impact on the battery life.
PBTool is wonderful. Before using it, after my first call of the day the xda would not release the connection. This meant it was running the bluetooth at full power continuously, which would drain the battery in about 3 hours, and the battery in the bluetooth headset in about the same time. So completely useless as a PDA.
With PBTools, it now closes the connection by turning bluetooth of a few seconds after the call finishes (Ive set it to 3 seconds in the registry).
It has finally made my headset usable, and for that I thank Towa.
I do wish he has made it more configurable, but at least he made is quite usable by default. Until another programmer comes along and does better, I dont think we have much to complain about.

Hey, you're the one who obviously didn't RTFM. In your case it was an 'undocumented feature' only because you didn't read the documentation! If I'm the smart one...
hi,
i know there´s a way to get bt headset´s worked but is there any solution for those with cable headsets out there?
greetz rumpel
ok,
i found this in the tapi.h : PHONESTATE_HANDSETHOOKSWITCH
is there a possibility to exec the voicecommand.exe if this value changes? im new in embedded codeing.
greetz rumpel
no idea´s?
that can´t be hard to code
What does the headset button do in normal use?
When you've got no calls, does it do anything? When you're in a call - does it mute or something else?

Or something else: It hangs up.
By pressing the button on a headset (bluetooth and cable) you can answer an incoming call and end any (incoming and outgoing) call, that's all (= that seems to be all you can do with this button).
I'm also disapointed that you can't start voicedialing with a headset, not with Bluetooth one and even not with a cable headset...

Not realy! Somebody found a way to start the voice dialing application by pressing the button on a Bluetooth headset, but the app is still using the internal microphon of the device, not the micro of the headset, so most of the time trying to dial will fail. If this will also be the same when starting the app via a cable headset...

Hi mates, actualy i found this:
-Cyberon voice command use the record button to start, but you can do another trick:
1-Install the latest spb pocket plus
2-Choose one of the tabs (lets say MAIN) and click add items
3-Choose custom and at the botton left click add/file and then browse the windows folder and choose "sddialer.exe"
4-Now you can start cyveron voice command from your selected tab on the touch screen.
All we need now is some one that can find a way to point the "head set button" to this new shortcut.

That's true vijay, but all of us know that you are brilliant like anothers good programers.
Cheers mate.
I have some ideas for it. It's on my "under consideration" list. But I've never used my headset, so could take a while. What does the headset do in normal use? When not in a phone call, it doesn't do anything in any other app? When in a call, it toggles the phone?
V
vijay , some post before mine, joehorn gave you the answers, it is doing nothing.
It use is: on receiving a call, click and you pick up the call and start talking.
When you want to finish that call, just click again and it is finished.
Perhaps during the conversation, if you hold down for more than 2 to 5 seconds, it will hold the call, like mute, and then do it again and you carry on with that conversation.
Hope this will help.
User22: very useful. Apologies for not seeing post above, I thought it was about bluetooth. I'll have an R&D on it. But I'm sure someone else will write this soon.

Well, like we say here " we will wait for yours notices like rain water in may"
Don't give up mate, you can do it.
vijay one more thing: when you plug your head set, the device knows that it is plugged and you can set it to autoanswer after 1 to 5 rings, maybe by this way you can investigate ¿?.
ok. in normal use the headset play´s music or other stuff. so i would like to start voice command for stop the music or play forward.
Using the cable headphone button to launch Voice Command
Hi, Has anyone managed to crack this problem of using the cable headset button to launch VC, or do I have to invest in a BT stereo headset to play my MP3s on the move?
Any ideas would be welcome...
Okay, so I enjoy the fact that when I'm making a phone call I have a nice large button on the screen that lets me switch between speaker on/off.
What I would love, however, is a button that allows me to turn on/off my bluetooth hands free option. There is this ability if I hit menu and then select it from the list, but I'd prefer to have it as a nice big, easy to hit button on the screen.
Is there any dialers that have this?
Any answers to this, as I would dearly love it as well!
Are we alone?
You mean to say with almost 400 readers, Red & myself are the only ones with this request? Please, there has to be someone out there with the wherewithal to code this into a dialer?
Same here!
I'd like something like this as well.
A lot of people would like a feature like this. It's just others are either too lazy or too shy to show their support so you never know how many people might actually want this.
+1 from me. Just need the BT feature to turn off A2DP so when people call me while im listening to music i dont have to reject them.. then hit bt on my today screen and call them back.
I think it would be cool. I think a LOT of peoples issues with showing support is more based on the general philosphy of a lot of the threads here. Ie. if you cant say something productive or help somehow dont say anything. I follow that mostly, especially in threads about development of new programs. Unless I myself and trying it out and have a bug to report I tend to stay fairly quiet.
That's just my two cents on why so many people have read it and not said anything. Clearly if over 400 people have come here its probably because they thought they could try the dialer out!

Isn't it enough to push the green button on your handsfree device in order to transfer the call to that device while on call?

In short Sascha: No, well at least not with the Motorola headsets and car kit I use... sometimes this works, but more often than not it will hang up the call, even if the call hasn't been transferred to the Bluetooth unit, which is both frustrating and quite odd.
Hi,
I bought New HTC Touch HD from UK and brought it to the middle east. i found out that i have NO SOUND at all from the speaker. No Ring on incoming call, no play of music or a video but i am able to talk and listen when making call.
Does any body guess what could be the problem?

Just make sure you have your system sound is up.
What ROM / Radio do you have?
...or perform a hard reset and at least you will hear the start up sound!
Hi,
Did Hard Rest. no sound on startup.
ROM 1.14.415.2 (32434) WWE
ROM 12/23/08
RADIO VER 1.10.25.25
PROTOCOL VER 52.57.25.30
This is information of the Device
i upgraded the rom. no luck
i installed hardspl and tried cooked rom, no luck
in last, i took it to the technician of PocketPcs. he opened it up and said come after an hour. i went and the mobile was working fine. he said he has changed the speaker. wow
thanks for help guys
had that on another HTC device.
It was broken, and constantly thought that a headset was plugged in.
so it disabled the speakers.
do you see a headphone icon in the bar at the top?
Try to change your radio, when a radio isn't compatible, the first thing you can see is that you havn't any sound

Wow, thanks for this. I just fixed mine as a result.
I was getting no sound from the phone and microphone was also not working in call.
In call sound/mic worked fine through bluetooth.
Sound did not work when previewing sounds however the phone did ring.
After reading 27 pages of the "No Sound in Call (Intermitant)" thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438457&highlight=sound), it turns out to be a simple fix.
It turned out to be a bent pin in the USB port. The phone must have thought that the headphones were plugged in. Thanks!

Not sure why I didn't get the email notifying me of your question, so I suppose it's too late. I used a tiny screwdriver to unbend the pin. Eventually it broke permanently so I had to buy a used tilt on ebay.
This has been a flaw in android since day one. You can't get actual notification sounds over BT. It is rumored to be running in 4.2. Is there truth to this? I'm still waiting for them to be available to get mine... but curious still.
just tested this and it is working for notifications. Although if it is a short notification sound, and it plays only once, it will not come through due to a slight delay between the phone and bluetooth device (but I can hear the headset turning on as if to play something and then turns back off). Works fine for longer notifications.
I get notification sounds over bluetooth when its connected in my car, always have even with ics.
I get notification over my Bluetooth headphones. No problem here.
Tho notification tend to stop my power amp player for some odd reason....
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Just to make sure, toy guys are getting custom notification sounds right? Like per contact call or text notification sounds

This happens to me too. I thought it was just a bug on the ROM, but may be the app.
No ringtones thru Bluetooth Headsets

This is true you can hear notifications if they are long enough although the first second gets cut off due to lag i think...... but this is not the issue we were discussing on the google forum. CANT POST LINK SORRY............
The issue was that we cant hear our custom ringtones thru Bluetooth. I have the Galaxy Note and a Motorola HX550 and i can get all voice commands, and even hear notifications, and hear it read my text messages to me, but i cant tell whos calling when my phone is in my pocket on vibrate. I want to hear custom ringtones thru my bluetooth so i can tell whos calling. And i believe the same issue is with car bluetooth from what i read in the forum on google this forum started in 2009 about this no ringtone thru bluetooth, and there are still no fixes or apps that can let us decide what sounds go where.
For example it would be nice to have an app with check boxes available to make ringtones go to bluetooth, and notifications be muted, music go thru headfone jack, etc... This is a long time comming just read the forum and look at the start date 2009..... 4 years and noone fixed this issue.
XDA please help us even if its just a quick someting to get the ringtone to go thru bluetooth.... PLEASE someone!!! :crying:
That link you mentioned you can't post is the one in my sig.
Yeah posted that back in 09.... Recently some one official took "owner ship" of the thread and said it was fixed. However it isn't. Flip phones that existed before the smart phone era were able to play custom bluetooth sounds. Yet the most advanced phone to date can't.....
