Hey guys. I'm new to the CDMA side of windows mobile. I've had the att 8125, and the 8528 hermes for quite some time. I got into the modding of them heavily and have, I'd say, quite a bit of knowledge in it(flashing, modding, registry..blah blah)
Anyways.
I recently bought a Sprint Touch, unlocked it, and flashed Alltel's latest OEM rom. I've noticed some Alltel cooked roms, and such things for it, but it's very limited. I have found a cooked rom, which I come to belive is bare, as in no carrier mms/internet settings. I was wondering if there are cab files like I used to download for my hermes(U.S T-Mobile settings) that I can apply to my bone stock rom. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are those are cab files for windows mobile devices in general. As in not just phone specific? If so, Thank you so much..Bookmarking that page.
i'd say it's for all.. but it doesn't contian a lot of customoztion as i just checked the alltel file now!! just the PPST and a dll and lot of registery keys.. i'll look for another cab for you..

Does anyone have, or know where I might be able to find a Rogers WM5 ROM for the TyTN? Is this even possible to find or am I SOL?

Same here.. I would like to have one onhand just in case something goes wrong with my phone and I need to send in for repairs.
I have the WM6 Rom from HTC's official site installed right now (working perfectly by the way), and not too sure if Rogers would support a return if something went wrong.

i just got my new rogers tytn today. I was planning on making a backup and updating ROM. if this is WM5 i will post backup file once I figure out how to do this.
That would be awesome as I am sure lots of here would appreciate a backup incase of warranty triggered
Alright... so I am going to get to this tomorrow morning - but I have no clue how to backup the existing ROM. I see a lot on how to install a NEW ROM, but nothing that I can find about the backup.
Can somebody guide me in the right direction so that I don't screw this up! LOL

I believe that will do what you need in order to flash the original ROM back onto your device.
My brain is getting sore from all of the reading about all of this. Sometimes I think life would be easier if I wasn't a "geek".

If there is somewhere I can upload the packaged Rogers ROM please let me know and I'll quickly upload it for everyone.
the files in the Rogers rom are all RAW files. how do you load it to your device?

ziadsa, thank you very much. I am looking at moving to a new phone, even though the TyTN has served me well, so I want to pass it on in original condition. Of course, I will be pointing the new owner to xda-developers. The next owner may want more from the phone, like I got.

I now have the original ROMs back in place and it works beautifully, but the splash screen still shows PDAviet.
Does anyone know how to correct this and get the Rogers screen back in place? I know this forum has been quiet for a long time, so if I don't get a response here, I will try with a new thread.

Sorry I didn't search guys... But real quick, what is the latest Titan ROM & where can I get it? I'm currently running the old 2.14 ROM. What are the advantages of upgrading to the new one? Excuse my noobedness... lol

Well the latest TITAN ROM is Sprints 3.35 available at the HTC America page, but if your looking for something to work with alltel you'll have to go see whats been cooked up by folks like DCD or NEX....

You can save alot of time just by doing a search (at least try to do a search first)
Check the Titan Upgrades forum for all the information you need.

I really shouldn't do this since I'm a Sprint guy but it doesn't look like there is much Alltel help around here. The steps are fairly simple ( make SURE you double check on the upgrade threads)
1. Write down all your phone info (MSID, etc.) in case you need to reprogram the phone later.
2. Upgrade to the latest Sprint ROM (this is basically to get the new Radio with GPS capability)
3. Load SPL 2.40-olipro bootloader (Extremely important! - DO NOT attempt to load a custom ROM without this bootloader installed)
4. Load any Custom ROM you want (most Custom and Kitchen ROMs will have an Alltel specific ROM)
Enjoy.
(just to be safe, if you are running Windows, I'd do this on a XP machine.)

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum..great place by the way, I am trying to help a friend with his new Tmobile Wing.I have a XV6800 and I am fine when it comes to cooking roms and adding cabs with this device, but this Wing so different. Sorry for asking simple questions, but I did try to read quite a few post before asking, it's just I dont have much time to see this kid and do some cool stuff to his phone. Do i have to upgrade to WM6.1 for any reason..I have it for the GPS function on my XV, but what about the wing? Do I have to unlock it with Hard-Spl to add cabs or anything to phone?Thats it I just need a heads start, thanks guys. Keep up the good work.
the wing does not have a gps chip inside it, but upgrading to wm6.1 is still pretty dandy.
You will have to hard-spl to flash a custom wm6.1 rom to the phone, as we have no official upgrade. However, because it is gsm, nothing really important has to be memorized before flashing

I know go ahead this is stupid. This has been posted before and so forth, but i'm freakin frustrated of looking and I can't seem to find a way to upgrade my dang 6700 to WM6.1. Please anyone post if you have have or had a 6700that you were able to successfully ugrade. The whole bootloader and radio thing is just to complicated for me. I can never get that to upload correctly on my phone. It always gives me this connection Error 260. Please anyone help. I have a Sprint 6700ppc w/ Helmi's Apache WM6.0. I have bootloader 2.02 with radio 1.27. And if you were able to get that dang diamond cab to work let me know as well. Please anything a tutorial anything.

Forget the diamond cabs, at this point they are just not compatible with the 6700. Maybe there is hope for this one day, any developers know if there is any possibility of a future version being compatible? But as far as getting WM6.1 I've got it on mine.... visit www.ppckitchen.org and download the newest BuildOS update it and be sure to choose your bootloader version, works like a charm! also this should probably be posted in the 6700 forum and not in DEV

Add the apn for data, use google if you don't know them. I think its wap.davewireless.com and no user/pass but not sure.
Goto
Setting --> Connections --> GPRS --> MoWAP
Connects to: Work
Access Point: wap.davewireless.com
Doesn't matter what mobilicity customer service says don't change "Work" to "The Internet". Data connection will drop so often you will hate the service.
Internet Explorer Setting:
Menu --> Tools --> Options --> Connections
Automatically Detect Setting: Checked
Network: "The Internet"

I have one as well. If you can give instructions, I can give the ROM it to you. I just got the phone a few weeks ago and am new to Windows smartphones.

providing it is one thing but actually telling him how it works is better... or atleast find how to use it for him...
I would love how to explain how these work but I don't know myself, I'm just finding all the sources for someone who has the mobilicity HTC Snap.

Hey guys, I tried to get you the ROM from the Mobilicity HTC Snap but whatever I tried didn't work. I have a Mac with Windows 7 on boot camp, tried rebooting into Windows natively but whenever I plugged in the phone via USB, nothing would show up in those utilities. I tried installing ActiveSync, which isn't compatible with Windows 7 and instead asked me to get the newer version (Windows Mobile something...), which is only compatible with Vista.
Hopefully someone else with Windows Vista or XP can extract the ROM for you.
BTW, have you tried contacting HTC directly for the ROM? Also, if the phone is less than 30 days old you can get a replacement from Mobilicity...
