Hi Everybody and Anybody,
I know go ahead this is stupid. This has been posted before and so forth, but i'm freakin frustrated of looking and I can't seem to find a way to upgrade my dang 6700 to WM6.1. Please anyone post if you have have or had a 6700that you were able to successfully ugrade. The whole bootloader and radio thing is just to complicated for me. I can never get that to upload correctly on my phone. It always gives me this connection Error 260. Please anyone help. I have a Sprint 6700ppc w/ Helmi's Apache WM6.0. I have bootloader 2.02 with radio 1.27. And if you were able to get that dang diamond cab to work let me know as well. Please anything a tutorial anything.

Forget the diamond cabs, at this point they are just not compatible with the 6700. Maybe there is hope for this one day, any developers know if there is any possibility of a future version being compatible? But as far as getting WM6.1 I've got it on mine.... visit www.ppckitchen.org and download the newest BuildOS update it and be sure to choose your bootloader version, works like a charm! also this should probably be posted in the 6700 forum and not in DEV

I updated my Cingular 8125 to WM6 Faria edition and installed the radio patch 02.61.11; however, for the past 3 days people have been sending me text message as well as calling me and leaving me voicemails which do not come in.
I do not know if this is due to the radio version i installed, so i thought i'd asked you guys and see if anyone knows of a more stable version.
Any suggestions will be appreciate it!

All radio roms above 2.19.11 have missed call and sms issues with WM6! The best one for WM6 so far is 2.19.11! Try it; it should fix your problem. Keep on mind the reception is not as good as later roms.
In the next few days i was going to make a thread to try to unify all the "problems with WM6 on Cingular" and "missing calls, no voicemail notification" threads into one thread. This seems to be a major issue but is largely Cingular specific.
The goal of the thread will be to focus on why radios over 2.19 (including Cingular's own 2.25) get the issue and what can be done to fix it and allow upgraded radios. Be it registery fixes, .dll replacement, or perhaps even cracking open and comparing radio roms.
The thread will NOT be about "I have this problem what do I do???" nor will be about solving issues with providers other then Cingular. However any good leads or fixes may aid in helping others with other providers.
also 2.40 is good for fones that arent cingular...been alot of cingular problems but t-mo is working just fine woth it
Hey Calouro, thanks for the suggestion. I definitely want to give 02.19.11 a try. I looked for it in the FTP site but they dont have the US version of it ( ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Radio_Roms/ ) I was wondering if you happend to know of a site where i can download that version of the radio so i can try it on my phone.
I'll keep searching around anyways but thanks a lot for the heads up!

There is no US version of the 2.19 radio that I know of. You just use the UK one on the ftp site (thats what I've been running for about 3 months now and it works fine on Cingular here in the US).

Thank you for clearing that out for me. I went ahead and downloaded T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly.zip and when i try to run the ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe in order to start flashing my phone, I get the following error message:
ERROR [300]: INVALID UPDATE TOOL
This update utility cannot be used for yoru PDA phone. Please get newer update utility.
Any idea why would i get this error message?

hi, i have a tmobile artemis with wm5 on it, when i try downloading the upgrade file from the htc website.
when i put in my serial no it shows: Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
not sure if it's just my phone not bein able to handle the software or just the fact that i got it from tmobile, not htc.
would anyone be able to post a solution to this, or the actual upgrade file, if it's possible to get it to work?

Either go to T-Mobiles website and try to download a WM6 ROM from them. Or go to the wiki, read about USPL and then download and flash the HTC ROM from the links in there.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum..great place by the way, I am trying to help a friend with his new Tmobile Wing.I have a XV6800 and I am fine when it comes to cooking roms and adding cabs with this device, but this Wing so different. Sorry for asking simple questions, but I did try to read quite a few post before asking, it's just I dont have much time to see this kid and do some cool stuff to his phone. Do i have to upgrade to WM6.1 for any reason..I have it for the GPS function on my XV, but what about the wing? Do I have to unlock it with Hard-Spl to add cabs or anything to phone?Thats it I just need a heads start, thanks guys. Keep up the good work.
the wing does not have a gps chip inside it, but upgrading to wm6.1 is still pretty dandy.
You will have to hard-spl to flash a custom wm6.1 rom to the phone, as we have no official upgrade. However, because it is gsm, nothing really important has to be memorized before flashing

I have done multiple searches on several sites and have "struck out". I have an unbranded HTC 6800 (small carrier with no tech dept.) and was hoping there might be a cab file that will unlock the internal GPS antenna without risking a flash to a branded carrier ROM. There are quite a few carrier specific updates/ROMs that will unlock the internal antenna, but I would like to unlock the internal antenna without "becoming" a Verizon or Sprint customer.

Please list your rom and radio versions. setting-system-device info.
If your radio is gps compatible then you might be able to try gps registry and qpst changes.
If you have a stock rom you might be able to try Skywing's Valhalla Legends GPS cab or something like that. It's what I run on my stock Verzion XV6800 and it works like a charm. Good luck!

Thanks for the link! I have just read through 30+ of the 62 pages and it appears that this is only for verizon and WM 6.1? Will this work with a non-Verzion Titan with WM 6.0 and a non-GPS radio?

As I mentioned above, I'm with a very small carrier and there is no offical upgrade "path" to WM 6.1 (and no downgrade option) and no "carrier cab". I have been reluctant to upgrade to a custom, or "other" carriers ROM.
Probably unrealistic on my part, I was just hoping that there was a recent develoment that might allow me to use the internal GPS antenna without an upgrade.

You cant have gps with an upgrade to 6.1 on the mogul. So till you find out how with your carrier you can't do gps.

I searched but could not find a definitely answer or a write up on how to do this.I just bough one from a guy on craigslist after reading it can be flashed and since my phone is dying anyway seem like the perfect moment.
I know i can pay someone else to do this but after my wife and 2 girls saw mine and watched a video on you tube of a flashed Touch they all want one so paying $60+ to get it flash plus the cost of each phone is not possible.Also there are people selling the software for flashing but i don't want to pay for something that may not work or maybe can't do myself after all.
Also want to note that i'm using linux on my laptop but have windows on my wife desktop.

Guys, read this link HERE it will help you out with what to read up on, what files are needed and where to get them and a step by step on what you will see when flashing
This is for a Custom WinMO 6.5 ROM from NFSFAN though so if you need something else you can still use it just some of the examples may not relate but the idea is still the same
As for the Linux user - do this via your wifes desktop (I love Linux just have Windows all over my house for work as well)

i am wanting to flash sprint htc 6900 to cricket
i am wanting to flash my vogue 6900 could anybody tell me the right way to do it it and for it to fully work(txt,pic txt,call,internet etc.) please i think i may have found how to unlock it and stuff but i want to make sure its right could anybody help. all the other threads i looked at was to flash the other htc's to cricket but not the 6900 could someone help.

People keep posting links to the HTC Elf/Elfin could someone use the steps to SIM and CID unlock their HTC Vogue using the steps for the Elf/Elfin without it bricking?
As of right now, there aren't any steps(that I'm aware of) for flashing/ CID unlocking the HTC Touch.
The best instructions I found were here. Just scroll down to where it gives instuctions for the Touch. There are even instuctions for flashing ROM via memory card(which I can tell you do work).
Basically you'll need the correct coke unlocker and the new ROM. First you flash the cokeman unlocker that matches your situation and then when that's finished flash the ROM. I recommend flashing the new ROM at least twice before you start using it. I flashed the new NFSFAN's v8 Windows 6.5 ROM three times and it's working way smoother than last time when I was running v7....which I only flashed once. The best advice I can give you is to have patience.
