Hi!
Wouldn't it be wonderfull for us laptop + diamond users, if we could save a little extra weight and use the Diamond as USB or bluetooth HID? I really would like a calculater app with a "send to pc" feature that also doubles as a regular keypad for notebooks.
Could this posible be done?

Ive been using SPB Full Screen Keyboard. It works like a dream, both portrait and lanscape mode (landscape better ) Fully customised keyboards to download for FREE I would fully recommend this!!! Best of all, when installing it gives you the option to 'map' a button to activate the keyboard
Google it, try it, buy it
EDIT-oh, I forgot to mention, being a full screen keyboard it makes it difficult to see what your typing but you can scroll left and right. If you map a buttton, it takes a second to start-up and close down with a push of the button!!!!
Have a look at this link Using alternate keyboards, i had a similar problem and installing the G4 SIP manager solved the problems.
Hi!
As we know, the optical joystick on new samsung models including OMNIA has 2 modes of operating:
1. Like standard D-pad
2. Like touch pad
It would be great to switch between them on the fly.
Best of all - to attach to a button action.
XDA Gurus, is it real?
Why don't you use mortscript for this. You can use the running task to switch between the mouse or the d-pad.
Here is the reg key:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Samsung\Mouse:ActionMethod
ActionMethod = 3001 on mouse use and 4001 when you use d-pad.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
That's exactly what was required, works fine.
For my Samsung i740 values are:
"0" - for D-Pad
"1" - for mouse.
I am very grateful to you!
would that be the same for the omnia
There's this simply program.

Here is better?
yay
(too short)
chgFingerMouse.zip fails to switch modes on my i740. Mouse cursor appears and that's all.
So here is mort script, that not only swithes between a modes, but switches speed of mouse/d-pad too.
I think it's better, then fixed speed.
P.S. value must be 20 - for hi speed, and 2 - for low speed.
Hello!
I have started developing some small apps with Visual Studio 2008 and the Windows Mobile 6.0 SDK using C# for my HTC Touch HD.
Now, I have a problem. I have a numericUpDown-Panel in my app and for this I want to use the numeric inputpanel of the htc phone-keyboard. But when I enabling the input panel, I only get the normal htc phone-keyboard. I know how to switch between the input panels (QWERTY, phone, ...), using the InputPanel-Class, but I don´t know, how to switch between the different panels of the htc phone-keyboard (normal, signs, numeric).
For example, when I create a new contact in the phonebook and I select a field for a phone-number the keyboard switch to the numeric keyboard.
And this is exactly that, I want to use in my app.
Has anybody an idea?
Cheers Michel
Sorry to bump a very old message, but I'm wondering the exact same thing for my HD2...
I've seen other programs do it, but how?!
Hey Folks,
I upgraded my mobile experience from a HTC Kaiser to an amazing HTC LEO.
The phone is simply "wow"..
My questions:
1. When I use the SIP in landscape-mode I have to use (of course) the QWERTZ Keyboard (Z because I'm in Germany) but when I'd like to answer an message (for example an SMS) in portrait mode, it shows me alsways the QWERTZ by standard after the landscape SIP has been used.
- Is it possible to set the default SIP in portrait to "Phone Keypad"? (without changing this standard after usage of the landscape KB?)
2. Is the long tap and "move shortcut to top" the only way to arrange the start-menu? In my opinion this is pretty terrible! (Several weeks ago I had a ROM-Version on my KAISER, on which I could arrange them by moving them arround on WM6.5)
3. Is there a good docking-station available? I've searched the WWW and found some on PDA-Max (http://www.pdamax.de/?art_nr=hz-388&ausWG=HTC_HD2) but this one seems to be made for HTC Blackstone.
And also it will not charge via power-cable when using a sync-cable. (Only one them is usable at the same time) So you can Sync and charge with 500mA or only charge but with 1000mA.
And in my opinion the docking-station, which is offered there is a little expensive (maybe this is regarding the fact that a HD2 is a new phone and also the prices are high) when I guess right, the two stations for my Kaiser had been arround 10€ per pice.
Thanks for your help (I hope to get some )

Have you by any chance figured out how to do this yet? I'd love for my nice HD2 to always start with the keypad after restarting.
It actually works pretty well.
In browser
page up/down works
esc works
power button- turns tab screen off
home screen
space bar brings up google search
arrows moves screen
not sure how i scrooled and selected widgets (pressed a lot of buttons)
And menu button works
Agreed. I've only used a dell keyboard for a while but it worked just fine. Better than the horrible default keyboard (I'm used to swype)
What do you use for a mouse (or do you have to touch the screen after typing?) This is the part I've been trying to figure out.

Yes, or you could use the arrows.
Cable-free free keyboard for your tablette !
Go to the market and load the free utility called "Wifikeyboard".
After just a few extremly easy parameter settings on the tablette only, the keyboard of ANY PC connected to your WIFI network can be used to fill-in ANY input field on your Android tablette !
It supports international keyboards (in my case - french AZERTY) perfectly.
In fact, you type into a field in the window of your prefered internet browser on your PC and the text you type is echoed on your tablette - which means that you can even cut/paste on your PC large text that your want to "type" in your tablette!
I now use an old lightweight netPC as my long text input device/wordprocessing/mail into my tablette.
Clever, isn't it ?
PS : By the way, you can use a USB cable to the PC too. But why bother with cable ? I dont see any reason but the lack of local WIFI.
