NO CITY/HOME sign found in ROM 3.17.03 to use in Germany :?:

Ra2 from Frankfurt/Main Germany
I did the english update ROM 3.17.03 . Later I found out the XDA is working , but there is no longer the CITY / HOME sign shown at the display :x .
So I tried to update back to the german version but it will not work at all.
Error 007 <<ROM-Bild zum Upgrade des Pocket-PC nicht auffindbar. Downladen Sie und machen einen neuen Versuch.>> In english: <<ROM-Picture for upgrade not found. Download and start new.>> after step 2 (german programm A ). :roll:
Is there anyone who can help to go back or can show me a way to activate CITY/HOME sign in the english version.

German Dictonary file for Transcriber, Keyboard in WM2003_EN

Hello!
I upgraded my T-Mobile PPC to WM2003-4.0010-EN with a EXE-Installer-Kit via ActiveSync. So far, everthing is working excellent. My Problem is, that the english version only supports an englisch dictionary for writing messages. So for me, as a german, it's NOT possible to write a german message cause TranScripter recognizes only english words. The result is just bull ****. I exlpored the registry and found an entry which links to the Dictionairy-file used in TranScriber, Keyboard input etc.
So now, my friends I need one of you, using a german Operation System, WM2002 or something else, who can send me this dictionairy file called:
mssp2_EN.lex in \windows\ for german file maybe mssp2_DE.lex or
mssp2_GER.lex
Or just look out for a *.lex-File in your Windows-folder.
Then I could overwrite my old "enlisch"-File or change the REG-key.
Nice, if someone could help me.

Hi, die Datei mssp2_ge.lex ist aus dem 97-Office, hilft dir aber nur in der Rechtschreibung, Keyboard und Transcriber bleiben da unberührt.

Gibt es irgendeine Möglichkeit den Transcriber auf Deutsch umzustellen?

:wink: Hi developers,
actually it would be interesting for all XDA-users in non-englisch speaking countries to know, wheter one can change some files, settings or registry entries or just replace certain files in WM2003 with the files provided from the own supplier in the PPC 2002-version to tailor the OS ( i.e. Dictionairy-file used in TranScriber, Keyboard input) to fit any language.
Anybody knows a way to do that?

Hi everyone,
this is just an idea came a minute ago thinking about how to get my ppc 2003 OS on my XDA get German language. So, may there be a possibility just to copy the language files from one ppc2003 device (xda2 german version) to another ppc2003 device (eg. my xda). If so, it would be possible either to replace the files in the romdir, which would take more ram, or to make a new image, which i think would be much more difficult.
maybe this won't work anyway. Maybe there is a german 2003 upgrage for the mda. maybe... anyone has any suggestions ?

German/Deutsches ROM for Blue Angel?

Hello,
I´m searching for a german WM6.1/6.5 ROM. I know that Helmi has one but it is very old. Does someone know where I can find german ROMs for the Blue Angel? I hope there is one with M2D support.

unfortunately, since helmi's wm6, which was also not really a german rom, as you might know, there was no german newer rom here. i don't really care about that, but since also italian and french roms were requested and found, there might be wm6.1 or 6.5 floating around somewhere.
i just found a german rom here

but... it is for the charmer.
the good thing though is that the charmer at least has the same screen resolution and similar specs, so porting it wouldn't be too hard... (i guess)
maybe if you requested there and reposted here, if it'd work!?

hi friends,
there will be a german windows mobile 6.5 release coming out soon. i believe on saturday i will release it. but be carefully, because i dont have a blueangel, i have a charmer - but my new release should work on blueangel.
i fix some bugs and than i release a.s.a.p.

here is the 1st release, but be very carefully i don't know practical if thís work. theoretical it is sorry i have a charmer, so i cant test it.
if someone is there who want to test, let me know the issues and so on, ok?
the rom is based on my wm6.5 rom for charmer.

die rom funktioniert !
reagiert auch recht schnell und ich konnte sogar eine wlanverbindung herstellen.
finds auch gut dass die rom ohne 1000 zusatzprogramme ist.
aber warum ist dier rom englisch

i just flashed the rom, unfortunatly its useless... the today screen is white without any MUI, except for the bottom softkeys (they react right) and the start button, which do not react at all... the phone has no skin, so i cant dial a number. incomming calls are possible anyway...
but anyway, i was glad to read the welcomescreen and the touchscreen callibration in german language!

@breckbit: ok, thank you for the information, i try to fix. can you send me a screenshot from the start screen? or more? thank you.

[Q] Connection Setup Cab

Hi,
can anybody extract and/or provide the connection setup cab from htc rom? Im right using the actual vodafone rom where connection settings are missing for my provider (o2 Germany)

Hi,
o2 has a service that allows you to send a SMS with the connection preferences.
You have to log in at the o2 website and go to help.
Rund um Ihr Handy ->Handyeinstellungen -> Automatische Einstellungen:
There is an option "Ihr Handy für die O2 Services automatisch einstellen", where you can insert your mobile number.

I do not know how to extract the cab.
In this forum are some "HTC Connection Setup CABs" mainly for cooking ROMs.
Have you tried one of these?

You can extract cab files with winrar.
