Anyone thought about creating Microsoft's 'TableTop Surface' like application for ppc(single touchscreen devices) ?
the application like 'water ripple' or 'paint' can be really lite and can be made by developers who developed PCM ImageViewer or ThrottleLaucher or A_C can develop it.. aint folks..??
Then why dont other users request these application's replica right here..

New Version 4:
- Lighter flat background (looks better)
- movieclip drops now remove themselves after falling (better for the memory on the long run)
- After 3 seconds inactive, the drops start falling by themselves randomly.
- You can now add your own background picture...

FlashFixe V3 by Twolf
To use:
Press anywhere on the screen to make a water drip effect, if you drag your finger across the screen it will create a water ripple path.
To see the clock, make some ripples across the middle of the screen.
If you don't press the screen for over 3 seconds, drops of rain will start to fall, they will stop as soon as you press anywhere on the screen.
To set the heavy rain mode on/off press left/right on your keypad, it will also stop if you press anywhere on the screen.
To set quality high/low press up/down on your keypad, default is medium.
Put it in high quality at least once to see the full effect. It can be slow, but so worth it...
When you click on QUARK he changes color and the clock becomes grey for a few seconds, don't overdo it, or he will get upset and leave (he will return eventualy, but the initial trust on you was lost)...
Press enter to exit the application.

Wait what does it do? Just a screensaver or soemthing?
it really doesnt do much, its just a dynamic water effect...
You can try it youself here:
http://www.zshare.net/flash/1702503111757b3b/
BTW, srbwap, that link you gave is from flash 8, pocket pcs only have flash 7...
Also, that would be too slow to see in our current machines...
ohk the app is very lite like i mentioned in my 1st post and the touch is very sensetive too.. twolf your doing a great job!! your work just need some better GFX..
Change the background with something like this or ill collect more pebble wallpapers
http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs24/i/2007/348/4/9/Pebble_by_Ferrari_8.jpg
hmmm... I did said flash was not the best program for this, i didnt even made the water animation transparent because of the slow flash animations... if i make it transparent it'll be much slower, trust me...
ohk.. but the effort was good..
Any other developers..?? please get your hand on this.. this can be a get success before Micrsoft launches its 'Surface'.
Just a small test with the transparency, so that you can see how slow it becomes:
It works on on a PC, tough:

i just tried this on my elf and it works very smoothly im my overclocked processor.. very nice work twolf,,
now try the next level make the water circle little more realistic like the transparent level.. im off for tonight..
Really? I have a 400mhz with 73mb of free ram Touch Dual and its slooooow....
Damned video driver!
:S
Strange. V2 runs at the same speed as V1 for me, and I'm on a Titan.
Version 3:
Better water animation (I think)...
Diferent background (beach pebbles)
New icon (uhhhhhh)
Possibility to change between high/low quality, with up/down keypad (default is low).
Possibility to see/hide background, with left/right keypad (default is visible).
Enter to exit aplication.
Click to create a drop, press and drag to create a water path.
Needs flash 7 pre-instaled (obviously).
Exe, FLA and swf in the zip, you only need the EXE to test it, of course.
---edit---
It still runs slow on mine, but only the part when there are several drops fading away, thats the slowest.
Any chance you can put some fishies in there?
Surur
Its possible, but its already slow, more animations below the ripple transparent animations would make it slow for everyone for sure...
on a sorta-related note, hackaday.com has tons of guides on how to build your own multitouch surfaces/displays

Since my next device will be an xda diamond (at least i hope ) where Today-Plugins can't be used together with TouchFlo 3D.. i've release a very early alpha version of SecondToday.
An application that behaves like the default-todayscreen. This way you can use e.g. TouchFlo 3D and all your today-plugins (wrapped by SecondToday).
Tap and Hold on a free window area will open the settings-dialog!!!

Feedback, Bug Reports, Suggestions are welcome either here or at discussion-forum http://www.chi-tai.net/discuss
if it is a useful program, then i guess there will be feedback

Hey ikarus, i'll gave your SecondToday 0.25 a shot and I'm quite impressed. I use it with the Diamond on the Left-Softkey on Hometab.
The only todayplugin I use is TodayAgenda ... there are some redrawing glitches after changing its preferences: it shows only a quarter of the screen, maybe you didn't notice this with qvga, but if I restart SecondToday everything is OK
Very nice work so far
My only wish is that I can hide the SecondToday by pressing left softkey, this would be great because i could toggle the two today screens.
will try it right now...
When I start SecondToday I get the message
Failed to load System Today-Watermark!
what the hell is the reason?
I have Bepes 0,53 ROM
i run second today with bepe's 0.53GER - rom and it works. i only need battery status to run in background to keep track of my call times and data amount, so i only switch to second today once a day or so. most of the time i have to kill and restart it to get in on screen though...
but so far: thumbs up!another great piece of work!
Some screen shots would be Amazing please?
Thanks very much.
I would reaaaally appreciate some screenshots
Also, maybe a stupid question, but that's VGA-only, right?

oh.. SecondToday can't find the background-image of today-screen..
i know the app is in an early state, but if you want to help then send me a pm and we will try looking for the cause.
btw. there are still some things like reordering of plugins (settings) and scrolling of window in work and available soon.
for screenshots.. there's no need since it looks like the regular today-screen with plugins

hm.. good question..
at first it should behave like default-todayscreen
then some features for plugin-developers are already implemented and used by BatteryStatus.
e.g. Performance features for quicker response or faster drawing like TODAYM_REQUESTREFRESH (which isn't supported by old windows mobile builds) to immediately recalculating the height..
So.. the most important feature is stability and performance.
I have some ideas to integrate trayicons, but this would only work with BatteryStatus since i don't want to hook the system or something similar only for trayicons.
And of course if you have ideas for a "better TodayScreen" then let me know hehe

Wow, just tried it, and it's really cool!
Tested it on a Wizard though
Thanks a lot fot the prog!
great tool!
tried with spb diary and works well
I like it
Great idea. This is a must for those who use other plug-ins. I'll stick with you on this one. First I installed it, however the image I use for the today background (which with FLO 3D creates the background for the start menu) also creates the background for 2ndToday, can that be individualized in the config menu with a simple browse to file type function. Be cool to have a normal flo 3d background, and a naked chick in black heels on the secondtoday screen .
2. Is there a way for a checkbox option to bind the touchflo3d right softkey to activate the secondtoday screen. Right now I use WKTask which puts the minimized icon at the top to quickly switch over. Using it on one of the launcher buttons doesn't make for a super fast switch to hide the naked chick
3. Is there an option to make the naked chick dance
Keep up the good work. Just questions, not suggestions, just glad you did it. Can't wait to see the progress.

I've been having a play getting Panels running on the Touch HD, and thought i'd put a CAB up of my efforts so far... i'm working to make the experience even better... consider this EARLY BETA!
What's hot...
- It works
- No 'Panels' button the HD of course, so you get a Panels icon on the start menu
- Performance of the actual panels is great
- It works
- AppToDate support for future updates
What's not so hot (yet)...
- It takes a few seconds for the panel select app to open
- The FM Radio and Media Xperience panels don't work properly on the HD (is the FM Radio panel outputting via extUSB?)
- The TouchFlo 3D plugin has to be disabled or pressing the home key returns you to TF3D (working on fix)
What's coming up
- Speed boost!
- Option to map to hardware button
- Requests?
What you need to do to install
- Disable TF3D from Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items
- Install main CAB from below
- REBOOT
- Run Panels from the start menu to choose panel
- Optionally install additional panels from the links below
Downloads
See MoDaCo topic here.
Enjoy!

i gotta say, hats off to you! Looks really good. Saw some salesman with his se x1 and the speed doesn't even differ much. Ofcourse it would be nice if the panels react a little more smoother, but my first impressions are: wow!
keep up the good work!
just a quickie how do you get back out from a panel ???
:sonyNewbie:
i use start panel, then you can choose panels
Thanks God...you are not calling for testers and then no cabs...and all you see is pages and pages...no cabs...
but Modaco, you directly posted the cabs...great...I will try it soon.
Thanks for the efforts

Hi Modaco.
Well....it does not work for me...
I installed the 10,1 Mb CAB and I can see the Panels quick launcher in my start menu, but it keeps on showing me something like "PanelManager.exe cant`t be open. It couldn`t be digitally signed or there is a missing component, If the probelm persists, etc...." (free translation form spanish) everytime i Reboot the HD.
Of course when I push the Pannels Quick Launcher nothing happens...
Any idea to fix it?.
Thanks.

Wow that's great, thanks!
It doesn't fill the whole screen on WVGA, however. Can you fix this?
Two suggestions:
1) You could place the chords at the top like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n23WEqqrP0I AND/OR
2) You could place the frets under the strings so that we can directly play the right notes.
Suggestion 1) would be especcially useful for the Touch HD, which has only two hardware buttons but a a lot of free space on the screen for the chords. I'd also be happy to donate/pay for your app if you could make that possible.
Again, thanks for developing that great app for WM!
WOW, Let me try this

On Touch HD, exactely as your piano app, it doesn't fill the screen, but this is not the worst problem: the app stays in foreground and there's no way to shut it down if not a soft reset. It looks good, but i had to uninstall both of them because of this

Installed to storage card and tested quickly and it is fun - One bug though - Don't let S2U2 initialize while guitar running as you won't be able to unlock device - mine did and I tried to slide to unlock and all it did was play guitar strings, couldn't unlock - Didn't soft reset to get it out - not sure how but somehow through a combination of buttons I was able shut screen off and on again and get start somehow as S2U2 flashed on and off - hit it quick and got it to home screen. I wasn't worried - soft reset wouldn't have been that big of a pain. Anyway - remember to disable S2U2 to avoid the hassle. Testing further as this is fun
Thank You So Much This Amazing !!!!!

Don't work for me
It don't play any sound, 'x' and 'reset'-button don't work, and pressing the same hardware-button a second time to set a chord isn't possible. Maybe it's my device.

Another little game from me today.
This uses the same basic framework as BallPhysics, but applies it in a different way.
It's pong, where your paddle is controlled by tilting the device.

}
The controls:
Up/Down change the balls speed.
Left/Right change the CPU paddle speed
Centre pauses
The text:
In the bottom left is the time in milliseconds since the last restart
In the bottom right is the current score
Should work on Diamond, Raphael, Blackstone, Rhodium and Topaz.
It's written in C++/win32, so no nothing apart from the exe is needed.
Configuration:
Code:
HKCU\Software\l3v5y\GravityPong
FixedVelocity=
if < 0, velocity is variable, if > 0, FixedVelocity is the difference between the CPU speed and your paddle speed
Changelog
0.4 - uses trig to calculate the initial ball speed so the ball travels at one speed regardless of angle, some little performance tweaks
0.3 - adds configuration of speed, and exit if mouse is within top 40 pixels of screen.
0.2 - Fixes sensor polling, and possible odd background
0.1 - Initial release
Nice!!!
I will try it right now!
[EDIT] The idea is nice, but controlling the paddle isn't working very well for me (it's almost not responding to my movements at all), and after 5 sec. it will be in a loop.
I loaded this game onto my Touch Pro. Here is what happened:
1. Worked for about 15 seconds. Then my paddle would not respond to any movement. I tried back and forth, up and down, side to side, hard and soft shaking.
2. Shut down and tried a soft reset. Started game again and all I got was a colorful static screen but could still see the paddle moving with its white tail in the fore ground. Did I describe that well enough to understand?
This game seems like it could be really cool but seems to have some issues.
Any ideas?

Okay.
I think I've found the cause of both of those.
1. I was polling the sensor too often causing it to try and check again before it had finished the previous check.
2. I haven't noticed this, but filling the background with a black fill should sort it.
Can you try the attached and see if it works?
Thanks
A question for potential users of this:
Anyone interested in the possibility of bluetooth based multiplayer?
As in, you pair with another HTC sensor enabled device and can control one paddle while the paired device controls the other?
I ask as I've just found some sample code in the WM6 SDK for "BthChat", that could provide the data transfer framework...
Tnx, works better now.
Still it's hard to get the paddle "stable", but it works.

Would you prefer the sensitivity to be lower?
I could probably make it configurable, but I'd need a settings app/screen to do so. If wanted, I'll do it...

Maybe it would be better that if you tilt your device to the left it will move to the left at a static speed. (not moving very fast if you tilt it more)
Now it's bouncing from all left to all right, it's hard to control.
I hope you get what I mean. Maybe it's just me who can't play this game
Nicely done and fast too
Thanks for the lightening fast update. This is much better now. Really cool. Your are on to something really good here. A few comments:
1. I agree it is a bit hard to control. configurable would be the way to go.
2. Can you make the scoreboard a bit larger?
3. Maybe a pause button and exit button?
4. Bluetooth multiplayer would be a cool feature.
Based on your lightening fast work, can we expect the new version in the next 20 minutes?
just kidding . I have a short attention span.

Those updates were about 5 lines of code
1. Configurable is about 10 lines of code (it'll be registry based, I might make a config app later)
2. Scoreboard font size is one number, so that's easy.
3. Centre button on DPAD (or return on a keyboard) will pause it, although the timer in the bottom left may continue to run
4. That may take longer as I need to find a device I can test it on (I only have on Diamond, and my Prophet doesn't do gsensors..)
Good news, awaiting update. On this post have you gotten rid of the older version so people only download the best one? Keep up the good work. You seem to be good at writing apps for the G-sensor. Are you working on any other games/programs?
I would like to see the following:
1. A good Magic 8 Ball. What I've found out there doesn't seem to work well on the Touch Pro G-Sensor.
2. A configurable Spinner. Something like the Spin the Bottle app but one that lets us put in backgrounds, like numbers 1-6 or words like ("drink one shot") etc.
3. A good configurable dice roller.
Thanks for your hard work.

I get what you mean.
In the update I'm just uploading the speed is fixed at one above the CPU speed, but you can change it to variable in the registry
Code:
HKCU\Software\l3v5y\GravityPong
FixedVelocity=
if < 0, velocity is variable, if > 0, FixedVelocity is the difference between the CPU speed and your paddle speed
0.4 is now released.
Some performance tweaks, and a change to the ball velocity.
At mines it doesn't work
Then it says unable to load Sensor DLL or something like that im using samsung omnia i900 and i downloaded microsoft frame thing plz help
such poor quality games for the Diamond . as the iPhone has great games with brilliant graphics and gameplay. and we pretend PONG is fun.

[APP][WM6.5] Magnifier Configurator (24th Aug) - beta
Hello,
since I'm about to develop WM application, I wanted to get into WM restrictions for C#.
So there the app is - it lets you setup Magnifier (setting timeouts, enabling "features", ..) plus adding/deleting apps in which will be Magnifier disabled.
It was built for QVGA on WM6.5 build 23034 CSY, but it should run on all resolutions.
It needs .NET compact framework!

Just copy it to your device (anywhere) and run the .exe.
It is early beta version, it will probably fail to set some parameters properly (converting from bool to dword is the biggest problem), so when you find something, tell me. Thanks.
Also, some settings (I've done it from registry, I hope I got all options named correctly) might not work as expected, but that must fix MS in WM itself (like Ellipse option).
Current version: Magnifier_beta2.zip
Old versions
Magnifier_beta.zip - missing SIP and menu icons
Known options:
Enabled - enables/disables whole magnifier
Bilinear -
Elipse - currently buggy when enabled, not sure what it is supposed to do
Show crosshair - shows (or does not) crosshair when opened
Use High Fidelity - when you open magnifier and then try to move it to somewhere else, it still shows the original position, you must wait till it closes to show different place
Resize For High Fidelity -
Crosshair Length - Length of Crosshair
Crosshair Thickness - Thickness of Crosshair
Doubletap Distance - Max distance between taps to open magnifier
Doubletap Time - Maximum time it will wait for "doubletap" to open magnifier
Deactivate Delay - time before it starts disappearing
Fade Duration - Time how long it will take to disappear completely
Height -
Max Window Size -
Width -
The free ones are still waiting to investigate.
If you think that one of these is incorrect, post me that and I'll fix it.
-- reserved one more (no more needed, thanks)
Ooh. Nice tool
This looks very useful.
Thanks!
I guess that some settings might not work (like staying (un)checked) so just tell me (I always write Elipse instead of Ellipse and always search for this mistake half an hour ).
PS: You must reboot after saving changes to getting it to work of course.
Very excited about this could relieve alot of issues with my tap response in opera and such!!! Thank you for this!!!!
Well. This is great however I have a major issue. No SIP so I can't type anything in. I'm trying this on my Omnia which is 240X400 and the bottom bar is completly covered and I don't have a hard keyboard.

I totally forgot adding SIP since I have HW keyboard, sorry, I'll fix it ASAP.
Added to first post with added MainMenu control (Start button, X/OK and SIP) - Magnifier_beta2.zip
great job ondraster will test it later and let you know how it works.
Hey thanks for the great tool. I was in need of this...
Best Regards
Thanks. Good!!!
Thanks man! useful app.
have to ask though, how did you get those nice icons for the new bottom taskbar as in the screenshot?
I'm creating new WM theme for myself, you can get them on internet, resize them to 16x16px (PNG) and then name them as <themename>_bubble_flag.png and _bubble_ok.png and _bubble_foo.png if I remember right (I'm not at home at this moment, sorry).

can we use this on wm6?
there is no magnifier glass on wm6, so no.
Anyways, this app is outdated, I think they changed it in last builds.
Hello
I was looking for something like this for my poor sight. But I install it and it tell me:
NullReferenceException
in MagnifierSetup.main .. ctor ()
in MagnifierSetup.Program.Main ()
I have a HD with a HTC WM 6.5 Spanish Language Software
