hard reset wipe everything out?

is there a way to do a full reset without going thu the contole pannel?
also a way to reboot, without the startup group running..

there is a way to perform a hard reset which will set your phone back to stocksettings. This will delet everything of your phone and completly install the rom from scratch.
while doing a soft reset hold the commbutton and the camerabutten when the phone is booting. if done correctly it will install the rom new and everything will be set back to stock.

Rebooting without the startup grp loading..
Go into explorer and rename the startup folder in \Windows to something else - (or move/delete the links therein)

Jus got mine I swapped my SEw900 with it. I tried to hard reset, but only upto the 3 colored bars. Wiki forum says i need to press d-pad up but nothing happens. Pls give more instruction or link. have spent more than 2 hrs already using the search but cant find the right post. M in an internet cafe and cost more stying longer. tanx.

The 3 colour bar is the bootloader mode. That is NOT hardreset. You ought to get away from that screen before you've done any damage Anyway, there is a standard way of hardreset your unit from the software. Go
Start->Settings->System(tab below)->Clear Storage
works for every WM5 devices.

my k-jam hangs

Hi,
Recently my pda(k-jam) fell from my pocket and it hanged. I did a soft reset but I get this error message "Press Send to restore factory defaults, Other keys to quit"
I tried all keys but in vain. I then did a hard reset by pressing the comm and the voice dial. (did a reset with my stylus). I still get the above error message.
Does anyone have any suggestion or idea how to reset my pda?

But will it upgrade ? As a hard reset also doesnt seem to work and how do I get to reach the ROM if I am not able to see the other things?

Couple of days back my pda fell and now after soft or hard reset the screen still shows this "press send to restore to factory defaults, other keys to quit"
I would like to upgrade to molski but they say I might have to downgrade my rom but I must first unlock the device. There are g3 or g4 device..how do I know what device my k-jam is...g3 or g4? How do I follow up or know?
Could anybody give me the link or solve my problem? As my k-jam just wont pass that screen..I tried looking into various topics but couldnt go about the first step I should be taking...

Please help..after hard reset, it still does not happen to load into the factory defaults... I cant flash my ROM or anything ...as it wont progress further than that screen ... "Press Send to load factory defaults, or quit"

Hold down the camera button while resetting it. If you can get it to the bootloader (three color screen), you might be able to flash it with something and possibly rescue it. It does, however, sound like you might be screwed. Things break when you drop them, including plastic phones.

Thanks but if I have to do a hard reset, I would already be holding the comm manager and the voice dial with the stylus to reset. Do I hold all the 3 buttons together while hard resetting ?
I have tried all the buttons after doing the hard reset but just doesnt get to the other screen.

Hold down the camera button, Power Button and Pin in the hole. First relese the hole, then release the power button and keep holding the Camera button dis will bring the Tri-colour screen. There'll be some info. like IPL n SPL der
If IPL n SPL are like:
IPL 2.xx.xxxx or 1.xx.xxxx
SPL 2.xx.xxx or 1.xx.xxxx then ur device is G4.
if its like:
IPL 2.xx or 1.xx
SPL 2.xx or 1.xx then ur device is G3
if its G4 you need to CID Unlock that before upgrading it.

I tried your steps but it still wouldnt work. But somehow I did the switch below the comm button and it showed me the screen to the somethign HTC innovation or like that.
I think I had to tinker with the switch below the button to get the screen working.Thanks for your help.

well lets just get to my problem.
i installed the touch it program rom thingy or whatever to my phone
and now im trying to restore it back to its original settings...
the only reason im doing that is because i cant connect the phone to the usb anymore. it WONT connect.
so im trying to restore it.

maybe activesync didn't install properly when you flashed it..
or.. you should try the activesync uninstall/reinstall trick..
or a corrupt system file and you just have to hard reset the phone..

hard reset is when you press the clear storage right? or when u take out the battery while its still running??
well even if those arent hard resets i've tried them and none work

A hard reset is preformed as follows:
-Hold down the two softkeys on the front of the device (the ones above the Windows logo and the OK button)
-Press the reset button using the stylus, which you can find below the volume adjuster on the left hand side of the device
-Release the stylus, but keep the softkeys held down
-You will see a warning screen
-Press the green send key on the left - the one with the phone icon on it to confirm the reset.
After that it will take a little while longer to start up the phone.
Btw if you by "original settings" mean restoring your official ROM a hard reset won´t do. You will need to flash the official ROM to go back if I´m not mistaken.

Did you hardSPL? What SPL / IPL version is shown on the multicolor screen?

Are you just trying to go back to the stock ROM becasue of the AS problem? Did you try a reinstall? After you uninstall before reinstalling AS go into your program files on the PC and delete the activesync folder.
If you HARDSPL'ed you need a STOCK ROM without the nbh. file. Thats why its kicking back to TOUCH.

HTC Home installation freeze xperia

Hello Guys,
I had installed HTC home plugin on my Xperia and now its hung or unresponsive. I can see the start, call and Menu on the screen but touching that does not do anything .
Please help me out.
Has anyone seen this before ?

i have PJC HTC Home installed and it's working perfectly. once i used the hack for the weather it was fine ...

thats not for VGA devices, it's for QVGA which is why it's not working.
Can you acess the X1 from through activesync on your PC?
If so then you can uninstall it from there (add/remove programs)
if not then I'm afraid you'll have to hard reset, and learn a valuable lesson, make sure you know what it is you're installing..
Hard reset, is take the back cover off and stick the sytlus in the small hole in the side next to the battery, while holding down the two silver buttons on the front.

If you've done it right it must have made a difference as this wipes the devices memory. If you can't do this then don't even start messing about with mtty
if you see the SE logo, then you haven't done it right.
hold the two silver hardware keys on the front of the x1 down after you've reset. Keep pressing them down till you see some text that tells you to press R
If you don't see this screen keep trying (reset+press the keys) till you do.

what have i done?!

Ok so here's the story...
I have a HD2 (Leo), its a newer one since my insurance company replaced it for me back in march or sometime. As far as I can remember it had 1.66 WWE ROM on it.
So, I'm finally bored of the standard ROM and Im feeling adventurous so i do a factory reset and install "ELEGANCIA ROM Series™ █13 July|21911|23569|Sense 2016|V10█ [CHT]~[GTX]~[MaxSense]" The E-GTX ROM.
I disable sense as it says to do, and find that my HTC sense has gone, but its kwl because i can still use the windows hard button to get to anything I need.
So I run the install and it asks to restart, I let it, only to find it turn on to a pretty wallpaper and not much else...no clock...no menus... just the 2 softkeys "Phone - Contacts" and the 4 icons in the top bar.
I hit the windows hardkey and nothing comes up...
So now im stuck
So I figure a fresh rom install should do it! I run CustomRUU, it restarts with the 4-colour screen, gets to 1% and gives me the error 294 INVALID VENDER ID...so I guess that's a no go.
So I bust out my old goldcard which I had used for my X1 (I think!) but I can't get to the registry on my Leo to change HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies - 00001001 - from 2 to 1
So thats not happening either.
Anyone have any idea what else I could try? I'm at my wit's end!!!

have you installed HSPL?? To get windows running like normal, do a hard reset. Take the battery out, Hold both the volume up and down keyand press the power button, then press vol up to do a hard reset when prompted on screen.
