BT Spammer v1.0 Beta (2008-07-17) - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

The title of this software is self-explanatory I guess. BT Spammer is a tool for one time or periodical "spamming" all nearby Bluetooth devices (in visible mode).
BT Spammer allows users to set up and define own Message (plain text), Business card (vcard), and Picture (jpg).

Of course I'm using try catch blocks but it seems I forgot some thing. I will test it on non MS BT stack soon.

Hello,
LG KS20 uses Broadcom Bluetooth stack
Ok - when you only developed the tool for MS-Bluetooth stack I understand why this isn`t working.

I have the same problem as eriche.
Hello,
I have the same problem as eriche.
My phone : Asus P535, WM6 Pro

So what exactly does this program do? From what it sounds like is if someone near by me is using a bluetooth headset with their phone I can kill the connection? Because if so, that's FREEEEEEAKIN saaaWeeet.

how does this exactly work? how does the person see the jpg, vcard, text on their phone when its sent? does it automatically pop up or do they have to open up the file? i tried it on my friends phone but nothing happend?

BUMP THAT ^^^

volcomnator999
Sometimes the phone displays the name of sender, sometimes filename, sometimes name from vcard, sometimes only a dialog, sometimes it automatically download the file and displays some message, sometimes it refuse any connections... Depends on phone. In most cases question dialog appears: "Do you want to accept file/filename (from <sender>) into your phone/contacts?" or something like that

Hi,
This would be a fantastic little toy to play with if the error on sending images could be resolved.
Any chance of fixing that, or perhaps posting the source code so one of us can have a go at fixing that?
Many thanks!

MDA Vairo - Backlight Issue

Hi,
When I power the screen down via pressing the power button briefly ( Standby mode ) I have some issues when I turn it back on - IE the backlights off and I have to manually go in and turn it back up again - is this me or a bug ?
Also the GPRS monerting software they give you is very good I think - any one know of a simular one for calls....
( For those that dont have one - it loges when you use GPRS and based on figures it gives you etc tells you when you have used your free quoter / gives reports and a few other things from your today screen ).
TIA
Terran
I had the same problem. After a hard-reset and NOT installing GPRSmonitor it never happened again...
Found who makes this app and sent this.... ( No doubt it will be speak to T Mobile ) but any one else with this prob may also want to mail them....
Hi,
Got your app ( v1.0.0.1 UK ) bundled with my Tmobile Vario - I think it has a
bug. Every so offten when the the phone has its screen off or its in stand by
mode that when the phone comes back on the back light does not - and in fact
you have to go set it back to the right level to see any thing.
Also is it possible to have an option to stop the GPRS connection until such
time as the user wants it. I find that even though its disconnected when I have
finished a wifi session it the trys to dial out via GPRS... and I'm not the only
one if you look at xda-developers forum.
I found a work around which was to change the T Mobile Internet connection to
use com1 and dial '1' instead.... ( That would be a nice to have ).
In the mean time if you have any suggestions re the back light please let me
know.
Many thanks
PS - Any future plans to include simular functions for voice and may be an on of
button for the phone on the today screen ?

I`ve just tried VJSMSSenderClass0 !!! & nokia can also save a message!
It`d be better with some little interface & contact database
rustoss:
How a phone deals with Class 0 is up to the phone. Most phones treat them as non save-able messages: SMS FAQ. If a Nokia wants to save them, that's for Nokia to decide
VJSMSSenderClass0 isn't supposed to have an interface, it's designed for Today plugins and shortcuts. I'll eventually do an interface based program for SMS type stuff, but none of VJPhoneTools was ever designed for GUI work.
V
Hello!
It work fine on the universal (jasjar)
what would be a benefit of sending an sms message that can't be saved on the reciepient's phone? Can anyone give me an example?
but good on carty and vijay to come up with nice progs.
O2mini_noob: it was discussed on the VJSMSSenderClass 0 thread, but basically, the "flash" SMS (class 0) will immediately show up on your screen without the user having to open it from the inbox. So it just pops open right on your screen. Our phones (and p900s, and others I guess) won't allow you to save them, which is again by design, Class 0 are really for flashing a quick signal etc to someone, not for recording info.
It's useful to sending SMS to those incapable of using their SMS inbox. But frankly, if you can't use an SMS inbox, you shouldn't be loose in society
V
oh that's cool :-D
SMS should be like this.....
VJ, if the flash sms can show without user going to inbox, i think this is dangerous as bad programmers can use it to spread viruses. i had a nokia 6600 which i used when i went back to philippines. i recieved a text fron unknown sender, i opened it, then after that my screen went black and i couldnt open it. switching it off then on didnt work. i wnet to a phoneshop, left it for a day to be fixed. they told me it was a virus!!!
VJ... can you please create a GUI program to simulate a nokia phone's keypad so that we can create ans send sms messages with just single hand, and no need to use stylus.
the built in imate jam's phone pad is useless. its difficult to use and you need to use stylus to input phone numbers in the 'TO' field.
cheers
nm8: I don't think currently any virus can spread though text (on WM2003 or WM5). Frankly, we're lucky if we receive texts, never mind viruses
Re texting with one hand, you want to check out blimkeys, on the board or here:

For those too posh to push:
Do you like chatting with people you don’t know? Do you want to be able easily share multimedia files with your friends? Do you hate the cost of MMS? Well now you can do it all via BlueTooth ? Find your target, take aim and let Sniper do the rest! Sniper is a MoSoSo (Mobile Social Software) application designed to operate using BlueTooth. Using Sniper you can send/receive and reply to text messages from other BlueTooth equipped phones (including non Windows Mobile devices such as Nokias and Sony-Ericssons). Sniper also contains a BlueTooth scanner which will locate discoverable BlueTooth devices in your vicinity to start socializing with. Sniper will also allow you to transfer files between devices as well as messages. With just a few clicks you can designate folders (on the storage card if you wish) for Music, pictures or any kind of file. Sniper is skinnable and comes with a range of cool skins. More skins may be easily added. Sniper also includes a Bluejacking feature which means you can send files or messages to all devices within range at the same time. A useful feature for sending out Business cards at meetings! Since BlueTooth is short range 10-12 meters and does not use a Wireless carriers data network, all this messaging and data transfer is FREE

Name just one?
Sniper is not just a BlueTooth manager.
With it you can
1. Send/receive messages and have an inbox
2. Allows the use of preprepared msg templates and you can create your own new ones at the touch of a button.
3. Send/receive files (to your storage card if you wish) and specify default folders for different incoming file types
4. Store often used addresses in address book with friendly names
5. Scan for all devices in Range
6. Sniper, will on request, BlueJack all devices in range with a file or msg until you tell it to stop.
7. Talk to any other BlueTooth device, doesn't have to be windows mobile.
This is just a sample of what it does and it's less than a fiver
So, what is the better freeware alternative???

As far as i can see - no gps option included...see screenshots...
Another advantage that this has over WiFiFoFum is it's ability to "see" wireless AP's that are not broadcasting their SSID.
Two things: First, the Maximize only displaying the strength is kinda redundant, I never seem to use it, but that's just me. Second, would it be possible to be updating the History graphs even when they are not active so you can jump to an existing History of that signal rather then starting fresh?
Anyways, awesome work.
Yes I think its possible to do it, that program just show wireless signals around, İt shows signal strenght by %
You can also take graph and history

WLAN Walkie Talkie

Hi,

I tried this out but with no success.
I have 2 HTCP3300's (Artemis) and installed the prog on both. Then i switched wifi on and went into the program. I saw my other device for about 5 seconds - and then it disappeared. The same happened with Bluetooth.
After a while i decided to try and talk within those 5 seconds (after restarting the porgram) but there wasn't any audio from the other artemis - there was only a message that came up on the screen saying something like "Sound quality is high". This message only came up when i was trying to talk to it.
Does anyone know what's wrong? This program would be perfect if i could get it to work properly.
If anyone wants to test it i can send the cab to them.
Thanks in advance, Uzzy
Hey Uzzy
The sound quality setting must be the same on both sides of 4talk. Once the are the same you should be able to hear your transmissions. My only issue with this software is that the signal itself seam to be a bit unstable. Breaks up a lot. MS portrait works quite for me.
SJPhone works over a WIFI network, even adhoc mode! in full duplex (better than a walkie talkie)! Use version 2003SE v.1.60.303c (there is a beta for wm5, but it doesn't work). I've used it, without problems, on both wm6.1 and 6.5 on an HTC Wizard AND an HTC Kaiser. It also has a PC version so you can talk Phone to Phone, PC to PC, or Phone to PC! The answer button doesn't display properly, so you have to configure a hardware button through SJPhone OPTIONS to answer the phone. You also need AudioSwitch to redirect the audio to the internal speaker. And you can also use it as it was intended, a SIP VOIP phone! I've set this up on several old phones for my Grandkids to play with. They LOVE it!
You can use Loudtalks;
