I have a T-Mobile MDA Vario (HTC Wizard) that I've been using on the Hutchison Network in Austria. The Phone was CID and SIM unlocked by me 1 year ago.
Suddenly the phone no longer recognizes the SIM card saying "missing or invalid SIM".
I tried the SIM in another phone and it works fine. I tried also a T-Mobile SIM, same problem. I did a soft and hard reset but still no luck. I tried also to lock and unlock the SIM using Wizard Service Tool, still the same problem. Wizard Service Tool shows CID unlocked and SIM unlocked.
I tried also Button's 1.05 ROM, same problem.
Any Ideas??

I have downloaded the sim tool and followed all instructions to unlock my US T-Mobile MDA for other SIM card use. I still cannot get the phone unlocked to use a SIM card other than my US T-Mobile SIM. When I insert my telecom Italia mobile (TIM) SIM chip, I get the SIM unlock screen and cannot get passed it, even when I run the unlock program again. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong or if I'm outta luck on trying to unlock this bad boy?
i have a t mobile mda that i used the lokiwiz on to sim and cid unlock then installed 2.25 cingular rom and it worked for about a month then a box just poped up when i went to make a call that said insert sim and will not work at all no matter what i do i have tryed unlocking it with all versions of lokiwiz and nothing works i have hard reset it then tried still nothing can someone please help me i dont no what to do and i just bought the phone a lil over a month ago

I have an XDA Orbit. Everything works ok except when I try to use the phone, It searches but cannot find a network. The inserted SIM is o2 Pay&Go. It does ask for my pin on startup and can read the SIM history but when I try to call, the calls ends after about 2 seconds and it comes up with the following error message:
"Cannot complete the call. The signal may be unavailable or the phone number may be invalid. Verify the number and try again later"
The SIM is ok as I have used it in another phone.
Any suggestions guys...

is the phone blocked by o2? if not try flashing an official o2 rom
Not sure if it is locked to o2, I have tried the o2 SIM and a T-Mobile SIM but both give the same result, unable to find network.
I have flashed it with the official o2 WM5 rom and the WM6 upgrade and I ahve tried a different radio firmware but same result...
I would welcome any further suggestions.....

SIM suddenly stopped being recognized

I had qtek (s200) prophet IPL 2.10.001 ,spl 2.20.0001 , GSM 2.47.21 and OS 2.20.7.36 . I upgrade with rom PL 2.10.001 ,spl 2.20.0001 , GSM 2.20.7.34 . After that my phone is not recognising sim. Message is there on the screen (invalid sim)
Then found out that the SIM was "missing or invalid"
Tried my SIM on a colleague's phone. It works.
Tried his SIM on my phone. Doesn't work
Tried soft reset, hard reset, flash a bunch of different rom, with and without the SIM inserted. With every different system I just get an "Invalid or missing SIM" message
Ah, also tried cleaning the contacts of the SIM holder in the phone, and even turning it on after half an hour in the fridge
Everything else seems to be working, it's just some part of the gsm system that doesn't work
Does anyone have other suggestions?

It is possible you have damaged the phone as you must NEVER flash a phone with the SIM inserted
The other thing to note is did you perform a hard SPL before flashing?

I have a locked orange 900 and bought a unlock code
when I place in my replacement sim it asks for a PUK
I have tried the sims PUK, orange PUK - sim error
No code works
I have an unlock code to put in but cannot get to the unlock code stage
asked orange, shops etc no luck
what next to try?

I get SIM error message and loss of phone connection in my unlocked HTC Windows Phone 8X even after Hard reset and taking out and reinserting the SIM
