SIM suddenly stopped being recognized
Hi!
I had qtek (s200) prophet IPL 2.10.001 ,spl 2.20.0001 , GSM 2.47.21 and OS 2.20.7.36 . I upgrade with rom PL 2.10.001 ,spl 2.20.0001 , GSM 2.20.7.34 . After that my phone is not recognising sim. Message is there on the screen (invalid sim)
Then found out that the SIM was "missing or invalid"
Tried my SIM on a colleague's phone. It works.
Tried his SIM on my phone. Doesn't work
Tried soft reset, hard reset, flash a bunch of different rom, with and without the SIM inserted. With every different system I just get an "Invalid or missing SIM" message
Ah, also tried cleaning the contacts of the SIM holder in the phone, and even turning it on after half an hour in the fridge
Everything else seems to be working, it's just some part of the gsm system that doesn't work
Does anyone have other suggestions?
Thanks!!
Invalid SIM
Hi There
It is possible you have damaged the phone as you must NEVER flash a phone with the SIM inserted
The other thing to note is did you perform a hard SPL before flashing?

Hi,
I have network problem with my prophet. I bought it in uk, and it works perfectly with T-mobile sim card. When I come back to Poland, I insert other sim card and my prophet does not find or connect to the any gsm network. It's finding and connecting to network only If i have EDGE singal.
I trying Factory resetting and updating to a newer ROM/radio ROM but this didn't change anything.
I have CID unlocked with this solution: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Prophet_CID_Unlock
Currently I have IPL 2.20, SPL 2.G3.4PDA, GSM 02.19.21 and Coffie rom.
Does anyone have an idea, how fix this problem?
Thanks,
Andrew
Hello all,
I have a T-Mobile MDA Vario (HTC Wizard) that I've been using on the Hutchison Network in Austria. The Phone was CID and SIM unlocked by me 1 year ago.
Suddenly the phone no longer recognizes the SIM card saying "missing or invalid SIM".
I tried the SIM in another phone and it works fine. I tried also a T-Mobile SIM, same problem. I did a soft and hard reset but still no luck. I tried also to lock and unlock the SIM using Wizard Service Tool, still the same problem. Wizard Service Tool shows CID unlocked and SIM unlocked.
I tried also Button's 1.05 ROM, same problem.
Any Ideas??
I have an Orange SPV M5000 with an orange PAYG sim card and the latest WM6.1 tomal rom. I've tried various combinations of adding/removing the sim, taking the battery out and soft resetting but it will not let me turn the phone on. While the SIM is in the top left LED flashes green occasionally and now when i take the sim out it says "no sim inserted". Didn't try the sim card before flashing the rom so don't know what to do next. Sim is a good one, only tried it in my universal because the battery died on my sony-erricson
edit: fixed by upgrading radio to latest version
I upgraded my HTC Touch Elf to WM 6.5 Onyx, installed the latest SPL and IPL version, the device boots, wifi works, ...
But when I insert a sim card, the device won't boot. After the "smart mobility", it turns itself off.
What have I done wrong ?
Thanks for your time.

I have this problem for the past two days. It was working fine for a week and yesterday I tried installing clockwork, I installed androot and rooted my phone, installed super user and Rom manager.
While restarting my Rom in recovery it got struck and I had to remove the battery to reset it.
After that I booted into stock orange rom and the sim was not recognized.
I am not sure whether this is a hardware problem or the problem with software.
I tried these things before posting here
1. Tried various custom roms ( CM7, Swedish Spring Rom) to check if the problem is with software. While installing SS2 I tried replacing the sim and this time I did it a bit different than I usually do, instead of putting the sim and then the battery I did the reverse and when I booted into SS2 I got the sim detected. I had left that in my table the whole night and what I saw in the morning is that the phone again displaying the same old "No Sim Card" message.
2. Had put a paper flap above the sim while inserting the sim - Not worked
3. With a sewing needle I had raised all the 6 sim contacts in the phone and then inserted the sim - Not worked
4. Pushed the sim towards the battery side a bit - Not worked
Guys please help me in resolving this.
Whether this is a hardware or software problem and how can I debug these kind of issues.
Please help.
Did you try inserting another orange sim? you should send it back to orange :/
Have you tried the Sim in another phone? I had this problem and the contacts on the sim were worn.
